  • There's been few research to study the effects of CAC(Computing Accreditation Committee) evaluation, since start of CAC accreditation 10 years ago. The purpose of this paper is to find what computer engineering graduates perceive the effects of CAC accreditation and to suggest how CAC accreditation process can be improved. The research findings through survey are followings; First, computer engineering graduates' undergraduate education satisfaction is not high enough(3.28). Second, the computer engineering graduates don't recognize CAC accreditation necessary. Third, graduates who work in company chose design courses as the most helpful, while graduates who study in graduate school pursuing further career in master or doctor program chose major subjects. Lastly, graduates from accredited program do not think their completion of accreditation program influence their employment. Strategic approaches to make higher effectiveness of CAC accreditation system are suggested. First, improvement of curriculum and instruction method in CAC accredited program is required to satisfy the needs of students and industry. Second, efforts to inform students of understandings and necessity of accreditation are highly recommended. Third, industrial sector needs to understand CAC accreditation and give graduates from accredited program more incentives. Lastly, government support like Seoul Accord Activation Project should last for a while.

  • Normally, people think the results of engineering design project can be seen and be touched, however, it's not easy to develop such design subjects at IT related program. This matter turns into an initiative of Seoul Accord corresponding to the Washington Accord. In this paper, an engineering design project is developed from the lecture course that can hardly develop a touchable project due to the lack of expanse or the own characteristics of the course in the IT related program that follows the Washington Accord. An open-ended design project with the pre-defined design components and realistic constraints is developed for the Computer Network Design course. Each team consisted of 2 or 3 students performs the project for more than 5 weeks utilizing a software simulator, the Packet Tracer. In order to analyze the effectiveness, we have used various evaluation tools such as final presentation, peer evaluation, survey results, and mid/final exams. We concluded that the hard and soft skills of students have been improved considerably through the project.

  • When anodizing the Al in the acid electrolyte, it is well known that the parallel pores grow continuously perpendicular to the surface. This fact can be used for the manufacturing of the porous membrane, if thc pores pass through the anodized foil. Anodizing both surfaces of the Al-foil spontaneously in 20$^{\circ}C$, 2% oxalic acid under tile potentiostatic condition, it is found that the harrier layer remaining in the midst of the foil finally disappears and thc pores pass through the foil. And examined the porous structure change when the voltage is changed during the anodizing treatment. From the result, it is revealed that the new pores and cell grow, adjusting themselves to the final voltage. The characteristic of the porous membrane is greatly dependent upon the diameter of the pore and the cell. So studied the relationship between the voltage and the diameter of the pore and the cell quantitatively with the aid of field-assisted dissolution concept. And derived the following two equation, Pi = 8.32Vi, Ci = 26.80Vi. These equations are in good accord with the experimental data above 30V, but do not accord nuder 30V.

  • We present the results of a time series analysis of the long-term radio lightcurves of four blazars: 3C 279, 3C 345, 3C 446, and BL Lacertae. We exploit the data base of the University of Michigan Radio Astronomy Observatory (UMRAO) monitoring program which provides densely sampled lightcurves spanning 32 years in time in three frequency bands located at 4.8, 8, and 14.5,GHz. Our sources show mostly flat or inverted (spectral indices -0.5 < alpha < 0) spectra, in agreement with optically thick emission. All lightcurves show strong variability on all time scales. Analyzing the time lags between the lightcurves from different frequency bands, we find that we can distinguish high-peaking flares and low-peaking flares in accord with the classification of Valtaoja et al. (1992). The periodograms (temporal power spectra) of the observed lightcurves are consistent with random-walk powerlaw noise without any indication of (quasi-)periodic variability. The fact that all four sources studied are in agreement with being random-walk noise emitters at radio wavelengths suggests that such behavior is a general property of blazars.

  • Recently, along with the improvements of geometry modeling methods using sketch-based interface, there have been a lot of developments in research about generating surface model from 3D curves. However, surfacing a 3D curve network remains an ambiguous problem due to the lack of geometric information. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for estimating the normal vectors of the 3D curves which accord closely with user intent. Bending energy is defined by utilizing RMF(Rotation-Minimizing Frame) of 3D curve, and we estimated this minimal energy frame as the one that accords design intent. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated with surface model creation of various curve networks. The algorithm of estimating geometric information in 3D curves which is proposed in this paper can be utilized to extract new information in the sketch-based modeling process. Also, a new framework of 3D modeling can be expected through the fusion between curve network and surface creating algorithm.
