Personalized Document Summarization Using NMF and Clustering (군집과 비음수 행렬 분해를 이용한 개인화된 문서 요약)

  • We proposes a new method using the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) and clustering method to extract the sentences for personalized document summarization. The proposed method uses clustering method for retrieving documents to extract sentences which are well reflected topics and sub-topics in document. Beside it can extract sentences with respect to query which are well reflected user interesting by using the inherent semantic features in document by NMF. The experimental results shows that the proposed method achieves better performance than other methods use the similarity and the NMF.

A Sentiment Classification Approach of Sentences Clustering in Webcast Barrages

  • Conducting sentiment analysis and opinion mining are challenging tasks in natural language processing. Many of the sentiment analysis and opinion mining applications focus on product reviews, social media reviews, forums and microblogs whose reviews are topic-similar and opinion-rich. In this paper, we try to analyze the sentiments of sentences from online webcast reviews that scroll across the screen, which we call live barrages. Contrary to social media comments or product reviews, the topics in live barrages are more fragmented, and there are plenty of invalid comments that we must remove in the preprocessing phase. To extract evaluative sentiment sentences, we proposed a novel approach that clusters the barrages from the same commenter to solve the problem of scattering the information for each barrage. The method developed in this paper contains two subtasks: in the data preprocessing phase, we cluster the sentences from the same commenter and remove unavailable sentences; and we use a semi-supervised machine learning approach, the naïve Bayes algorithm, to analyze the sentiment of the barrage. According to our experimental results, this method shows that it performs well in analyzing the sentiment of online webcast barrages.

Document Summarization Based on Sentence Clustering Using Graph Division (그래프 분할을 이용한 문장 클러스터링 기반 문서요약)

  • The main purpose of document summarization is to reduce the complexity of documents that are consisted of sub-themes. Also it is to create summarization which includes the sub-themes. This paper proposes a summarization system which could extract any salient sentences in accordance with sub-themes by using graph division. A document can be represented in graphs by using chosen representative terms through term relativity analysis based on co-occurrence information. This graph, then, is subdivided to represent sub-themes through connected information. The divided graphs are types of sentence clustering which shows a close relationship. When salient sentences are extracted from the divided graphs, summarization consisted of core elements of sentences from the sub-themes can be produced. As a result, the summarization quality will be improved.

A Text Summarization Model Based on Sentence Clustering (문장 클러스터링에 기반한 자동요약 모형)

  • This paper presents an automatic text summarization model which selects representative sentences from sentence clusters to create a summary. Summary generation experiments were performed on two sets of test documents after learning the optimum environment from a training set. Centroid clustering method turned out to be the most effective in clustering sentences, and sentence weight was found more effective than the similarity value between sentence and cluster centroid vectors in selecting a representative sentence from each cluster. The result of experiments also proves that inverse sentence weight as well as title word weight for terms and location weight for sentences are effective in improving the performance of summarization.

Topic-based Multi-document Summarization Using Non-negative Matrix Factorization and K-means (비음수 행렬 분해와 K-means를 이용한 주제기반의 다중문서요약)

  • This paper proposes a novel method using K-means and Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) for topic -based multi-document summarization. NMF decomposes weighted term by sentence matrix into two sparse non-negative matrices: semantic feature matrix and semantic variable matrix. Obtained semantic features are comprehensible intuitively. Weighted similarity between topic and semantic features can prevent meaningless sentences that are similar to a topic from being selected. K-means clustering removes noises from sentences so that biased semantics of documents are not reflected to summaries. Besides, coherence of document summaries can be enhanced by arranging selected sentences in the order of their ranks. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better performance than other methods.

  • In multi-document summarization by means of salient sentence extraction, it is important to remove redundant information. In the removal process, the similarities and differences of sentences are considered. In this paper, we propose a method for multi-document summarization which extracts salient sentences without having redundant sentences by way of cohesive term clustering method that utilizes co-occurrence Information. In the cohesive term clustering method, we assume that each term does not exist independently, but rather it is related to each other in meanings. To find the relations between terms, we cluster sentences according to topics and use the co-occurrence information oi terms in the same topic. We conduct experimental tests with the DUC(Document Understanding Conferences) data. In the tests, our method shows better performance of summarization than other summarization methods which use term co-occurrence information based on term cohesion of document or sentence unit, and simple statistical information.

Generic Document Summarization using Coherence of Sentence Cluster and Semantic Feature (문장군집의 응집도와 의미특징을 이용한 포괄적 문서요약)

  • The results of inherent knowledge based generic summarization are influenced by the composition of sentence in document set. In order to resolve the problem, this papser propses a new generic document summarization which uses clustering of semantic feature of document and coherence of document cluster. The proposed method clusters sentences using semantic feature deriving from NMF(non-negative matrix factorization), which it can classify document topic group because inherent structure of document are well represented by the sentence cluster. In addition, the method can improve the quality of summarization because the importance sentences are extracted by using coherence of sentence cluster and the cluster refinement by re-cluster. The experimental results demonstrate appling the proposed method to generic summarization achieves better performance than generic document summarization methods.

  • Many data are stored in database. For getting any information from many data, we use the query sentences. These information is basic and simple. Data mining method is various. In this paper, we manage clustering and association rules. We present a method for finding the better association rules, and we solve a problem of the existing association rules. We propose and apply a new clustering method to fit for association rules. It is not clustering of the existing distance basis or category basis. If we find association rules of each clusters, we can get not only existing rules found in all transaction but also rules that will be characteristics of clusters. Through this study, we can expect that we will reduce the number of many transaction access in large databases and find association of small group.

Generic Summarization Using Generic Important of Semantic Features (의미특징의 포괄적 중요도를 이용한 포괄적 문서 요약)

  • With the increased use of the internet and the tremendous amount of data it transfers, it is more necessary to summarize documents. We propose a new method using the Non-negative Semantic Variable Matrix (NSVM) and the generic important of semantic features obtained by Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) to extract the sentences for automatic generic summarization. The proposed method use non-negative constraints which is more similar to the human's cognition process. As a result, the proposed method selects more meaningful sentences for summarization than the unsupervised method used the Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) or clustering methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method archives better performance than other methods.

Automatic Product Review Helpfulness Estimation based on Review Information Types (상품평의 정보 분류에 기반한 자동 상품평 유용성 평가)

  • Many available online product reviews for any given product makes it difficult for a consumer to locate the helpful reviews. The purpose of this study was to investigate automatic helpfulness evaluation of online product reviews according to review information types based on the target of information. The underlying assumption was that consumers find reviews containing specific information related to the product itself or the reliability of reviewers more helpful than peripheral information, such as shipping or customer service. Therefore, each sentence was categorized by given information types, which reduced the semantic space of review sentences. Subsequently, we extracted specific information from sentences by using a topic-based representation of the sentences and a clustering algorithm. Review ranking experiments indicated more effective results than other comparable approaches.
