  • RFID 기술을 사용하는 환경에서는 태그와 리더간에 Radio Frequency 를 이용한 무선 통신을 하기 때문에 서로간의 데이터 손실 없이 성공적인 통신을 항상 보장하기는 어렵다. 태그가 리더 영역 내에 있다 하더라도 주변 다른 전자제품의 전파 방해나 장애물의 영향으로 인해 센서 태그로부터 센싱 데이터를 읽는 도중에 데이터 손실이 발생 할 수 있다. 이러한 센서 데이터는 콜드 체인과 같은 물류환경에서 상품을 관리하기 위하여 중요하게 사용되기 때문에 센싱 데이터를 전송하는 도중에 손실된 데이터를 복구해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 반능동형 센서 태그로부터 센싱 데이터 값을 손실 하였을 때 완전한 결과 데이터로 복구하기 위한 회복 기법을 제안한다. 이를 지원하기 위해 결과 데이터 복구 기법과 Packet Size 제어 기법을 사용한다. 이 기법들은 회복 기법이 성공적인 데이터의 읽기 연산을 보장하고, 읽기 처리 속도를 빠르게 하는데 중요한 역할을 한다.

  • Early in 21st century, researches about intelligent service robot that provide various services for a human out of the industrial robot only has simple pattern repetition. It concentrates in the research regarding the URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion) robot which connects the network in the intelligent service. This paper proposes the robot system based on network to guide a way. The robot has made by lego brick and used ultrasonic sensor, rotation sensor and RFID tag to recognize external environment. Also, it includes a PDA to process the data between robot and server. The network server transmits information to robot controller by bluetooth and it controls the course movement and evasion of the robot. In this research, the robot system based on network to guide a way is easy to expand service and is able to process a data in real time due to data processing in the server as a part of intelligent robot. And it can reduce the cost to build a robot thank to use cheaper sensor equipment.

  • In apartment type of housing, if resident's vehicle is registered in central control office and RFID TAG is issued, identification can be recognized from the time of entrance into parking lot and intelligent parking guide system can be activated based on the residents' profile. Parking Guide System leads a vehicle to the available parking space which is closest to the entrance gate of the vehicle's owner. And when residents forget where they parked their cars, they can query to the Parking Guide and Management System and get responses about the location. For the correct operation of this system, it is necessary to find out where the residents' cars have parked in real time and which lot is available for parking of other cars. RFID is very fancy solution for this system. RFID reader gathers the ID information in RFID TAGs in parked cars and updates the DB up to date. But, when non-residents' cars are parked inside apartment, RFID reader cannot identify them nor know the exact empty/occupied status of parking spaces because they don't react to RFID reader's query. So for the exact detection of empty/occupied status, we suggest the combined use of ultrasonic sensors and RFID. We designed a tree topology with intermediate data aggregators. The depth of tree is normally more than 3 from root (central office) to leaves (individual parking lots). The depth of 2 in tree topology brings about the bottleneck in communication and maintenance. We also designed the information fields used in RFID networks and Sensor Networks.

  • The traditional barcode based medicine logistics system have the problems such as loss, management error, online track, public information due to the hand-operated logistic process. Otherwise, quick response allows that the company observe the requests consistently and design medicine and establish manufacture schedule rapidly so that they could prohibit the product stocked. In this paper, we analyzed how to process medicine circulation logistics and information steps practically and proposed the RFID based medicine logistics system for the quick response in hospital. The proposed method provided the medical history tracing service, the traditional system connection, the efficiency logistic service, and the narcotic specified management service using the medicine logistics information from RFID tag. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the productivity will be improved the efficient medicine logistics by reducing the loss as well as the management error.

  • Nowadays, to realize ubiquitous computing environment, many research activities have been going on within various kinds of research domains including automatic identification, sensor network, home network, telematics and so on. Especially, RFID middle-ware that supports the aggregation of RFID tag data, control and management, and the integration with legacy systems has recently gained a lot of attention. Meanwhile, EPCglobal defined an ALE(Application Level Events) standard specification, which exists between RFID readers and applications, and substitutes the previous systems called Savant. In the specification internal structures and implementation technologies of ALE are not mentioned and only external interfaces are defined. This approach easies the verification of standard compliance and inter-operability of the layer. In this paper, we present the design of ALE-compliant RFID middle-ware systems that process RFID tag data efficiently.

  • Currently, SAW Device has been used as a frequency filter using the property of passing only a desired frequency with a narrow bandwidth. However, the areas of activity in various fields since the permanent advantages can be widened by using a non-powered. These sensor tags using SAW Device has been done, but a lot of research, the development of the state still insufficient for Reader Platform. How to read the value of the ID Tag Using SAW Device has a time domain sampling (TDS) method and a frequency domain sampling (FDS) method. The purpose of the paper, we use the FDS method that requires high-speed processing with a relatively slow sampling rate does not require high-speed sampling. Reader Platform was the way to detect ID through PC as FDS way, but It is based on the Cortex-A9 processor and it works a low price, compact and real-time Reader Platform.

  • 광고 및 홍보의 마케팅 수단의 일환으로써 점포별로 QR코드를 사용하는 사례가 급격히 늘고 있다. 정보도트의 일종인 QR코드의 경우는 스마트폰과 더불어 홍보수단의 일환으로 활용되는 사례가 증가하고 있는 반면 QR코드는 정보를 표현할 수 있는 디자인의 범위가 좁고, 전송할 수 있는 Data의 용량이 적으며, 어두운 환경에서의 인식률이 저하되는 단점이 있다. 이에 기존의 QR코드 보다 다양한 디자인이 가능하고 대용량의 Data 전송이 가능한 컬러코드가 대두되고 있다. 컬러코드란 4가지 색상(빨강, 파랑, 초록, 검정)을 이용한 매트릭스 형태의 코드로 각종 디지털 정보를 저장하는 새로운 개념의 데이터 표현 기술이며, 이는 각 컬러에 디지털 정보를 매핑(mapping)하여 콘텐츠나 URL 등의 실제 정보들을 제공하는 역할을 하도록 설계되어 있다. 8MP CMOS센서기반 Colored LED Patch 인식 기법은 VLC에 포함되는 하나의 기술로서 차세대 조명 및 정보 디스플레이 장치로 각광을 받고 있는 반도체 조명 기술인 광원 정보 인식 기법이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 8MP CMOS센서 기반 컬러코드 LED Patch 인식 기법에 대해 제안하였다. 8MP CMOS 센서를 이용한 Colored LED Patch 인식 기법 중 하나로서 위치 정보 서비스 등 다양한 정보 획득이 가능하도록 연구하였으며, 동영상, 웹사이트 링크 등 여러 형식에 적용이 가능하도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 사용되는 8MP CMOS센서를 기반 Colored LED Patch 인식 기법을 통해 컬러코드는 코드 플랫폼으로 연결되어 콘텐츠의 위치를 파악하고 이용자에게 콘텐츠 및 정보가 전송된다. 이는 QR코드보다 높은 인식률로 빠르고 편리하게 정보를 제공할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 상기 제안 기술을 통하여 LED Patch의 높은 주목성과 가시성을 확보하여 보다 효과적인 광고 및 홍보의 시인성을 확보할 수 있다. 향후 본 제안기술을 통하여 사회 안전망을 위한 위치 및 정보 서비스 제공이 가능하며, 효과적인 광고 효과를 도출할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • Theme park automation system is developed by using the RFID sensor reader, IIS web server, ASP.NET and MSSQL database in this paper. Its operation is that park entrance people checked automatically when he who possessed the ta8 passed the reader acquisition bound and its tag information is sent to the host computer through the RS-232 data acquisition system. Tag information and time data will be stored in the RFID database tables and reused to extract and distribute the entrance people for the purpose of each arrangement of each entertainment devices. First of all, we developed interface program between host and reader and then, programmed the related web site and database connection function using ASP.NET with $C\#$ and MSSQ. We also design and make an production of external Ant. to extend the acquisition range up to $30\~40$ cm using copper PCB plate. We confirmed the performance through the RFID test bed site.

A Study On RTLS(Real Time Location System) Based on RSS(Received Signal Strength) and RSS Characteristics Analysis with the External Factors (외적요인에 따른 RSS 특성 분석과 이를 이용한 실시간 위치 추적 시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we analysed RSS characteristics by external factors and presented an efficient algorithm for real-time location tracking and its hardware system. The proposed algorithm enhanced the ranging accuracy using Kalman Filter based on the RSS DB. The location tracking system that consists of the tag, AP(Access Point), a data collector(Data Receiver) with IEEE 802.15.4(ZigBee) network environment, and location tracking application that reveal locations of each tag is implemented for the test environment. The location tracking system presented in this paper is implemented with MSP430 microprocessor manufactured by TI(Texas Instrument), CC2420 RF chipset and the location tracking application. With the results of the experiment, the proposed algorithm and the system can achieve the efficiency and the accuracy of location tracking with the average error of 19.12cm, and its standard deviation of 5.31cm in outdoor circumstance. Also, the experimental result shows that exact tracking of position in indoor circumstance cannot achieve because of vulnerable RSS with external circumstance.

A Study on 3D RTLS at Port Container Yards Using the Extended Kalman Filter

  • The main purpose of this paper is to manage the container property effectively at the container yard by applying the RTLS technology to the field of port logistics. Yet, many kinds of noises happen to be inputted with the distance value(between the reader and the tag) which is to be inputted into the location identification algorithm, which makes the distance value jumped due to the system noise of the ultrasonic sensor module and the measurement noise. The Kalman Filter is widely used to prevent this jump occurrence; the noises are eliminated by using the EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) while considering that the distance information of the ultrasonic sensor is non-linear. Also, the 3D RTLS system at the port container yard suggested in this research is designed not to be interrupted for its ultrasonic transmission by positioning the antenna at the front of each sector of the container where the active tags are installed. We positioned the readers, which function as antennas for location identification, to four places randomly in the absolute coordinate and let the positions of the active tags identified by using the distance data delivered from the active tags. For the location identification algorithm used in this paper, the triangulation measurement that is most used in general is applied and newly reorganized to calculate the position of the container. In the first experiment, we dealt with the error resulting in the angle and the distance of the ultrasonic sensor module, which is the most important in the hardware performance; in the second, we evaluated the performance of the location identification algorithm, which is the most important in the software performance, and tested the noise cancellation effects for the EKF. According to the experiment result, the ultrasonic sensor showed an average of 3 to 5cm error up to $45^{\circ}$ in case of $60^{\circ}$ or more, non-reliable linear distances were obtained. In addition, the evaluation of the algorithm performance showed an average of $4^{\circ}{\sim}5^{\circ}$ error due to the error of the linear distance-this error is negligible for most container location identifications. Lastly, the experiment results of noise cancellation and jump preservation by using the EKF showed that noises were removed in the distance information which was entered from the input of the ultrasonic sensor and as a result, only signal was extracted; thus, jumps were able to be removed and the exact distance information between the ultrasonic sensors could be obtained.
