Low power consumption sensor network platform (sensor node) for sensor networking with IEEE 802.15.4 protocol was fabricated. The sensor node used ceramic bar type antenna for increasing RF signal performance and decreasing PCB size occupied by antenna. The communication range of the fabricated sensor node was about $20{\sim}30$ m in open environment with 915 MHz frequency bandwidth and well supported by Tiny OS. The sensor node have good connectivity with various external devices by RS-232, I2C, analogue and digital expansion board, hence, this sensor node can be applied to various applications in wireless sensor network and ubiquitous sensor network.
An Internet of Things (IOT) sensor network is an effective solution for monitoring environmental conditions. However, IOT sensor networks generate massive data such that the abilities of massive data storage, processing, and query become technical challenges. To solve the problem, a Hadoop cloud platform is proposed. Using the time and workload genetic algorithm (TWLGA), the data processing platform enables the work of one node to be shared with other nodes, which not only raises efficiency of one single node but also provides the compatibility support to reduce the possible risk of software and hardware. In this experiment, a Hadoop cluster platform with TWLGA scheduling algorithm is developed, and the performance of the platform is tested. The results show that the Hadoop cloud platform is suitable for big data processing requirements of IOT sensor networks.

A context-aware services platform supporting mobile agents consists of sensor nodes and a sensor coordinator. Sensor nodes collect environmental information and transmit the collected information to the sensor coordinator through wireless sensor networks. The sensor coordinator passes the information to the context-aware service module, and the mobile agent. The context-aware service module or the mobile agent performs services suitable for a user's situation based on the environmental information and a service actuation message is delivered to an actuation node through the sensor coordinator. In this paper, we present a context-aware services platform structure employed in our project, and describe context-aware services platform interfaces with a context-aware service module and mobile agents.

This paper presents a sensor network and operation for multiple autonomous navigation platform and transport service. Multiple platform navigate with inside sensors and outside sensors while acquiring and process some useful information. Each platform communicates each other by navigational information through central main server. Efficient sensor network systems are considered for the scenario which some passengers call the service and the vehicle accomplish its transport service by transporting each caller to the destination by autonomous manners. In the scenario, all vehicles perform a role of sensor system to the central server and the server handles each information and integrate with faster procedure in the wireless 3G network.
Recent advancement in wireless communications and electronics has enabled the development of low power sensor network. Wireless sensor network are often used in remote monitoring control applications, health care, security and environmental monitoring. Wireless sensor networks are an emerging technology consisting of small, low-power, and low-cost devices that integrate limited computation, sensing, and radio communication capabilities. Sensor network platform for health care has been designed, fabricated and tested. This system consists of an embedded micro-controller, Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver, power management, I/O expansion, and serial communication (RS-232). The hardware platform uses Atmel ATmega128L 8-bit ultra low power RISC processor with 128KB flash memory as the program memory and 4KB SRAM as the data memory. The radio transceiver (Chipcon CC1000) operates in the ISM band at 433MHz or 916MHz with a maximum data rate of 76.8kbps. Also, the indoor radio range is approximately 20-30m. When many sensors have to communicate with the controller, standard communication interfaces such as Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) or Integrated Circuit ($I^{2}C$) allow sharing a single communication bus. With its low power, the smallest and low cost design, the wireless sensor network system and wireless sensing electronics to collect health-related information of human vitality and main physiological parameters (ECG, Temperature, Perspiration, Blood Pressure and some more vitality parameters, etc.)

Sensor network consists of a large number of sensor node distributed in the environment being sensed and controlled. The resource-constrained sensor nodes tend to have various and heterogeneous architecture. Thus, it is important to make its software environment platform-independent and reprogrammable. In this paper, we present BeeVM, a Java operating system designed for sensor networks. BeeVM offers a platform-independent Java programming environment with its efficiently executable file format and a set of class APIs for basic operating functions, sensing and wireless networking. BeeVM's high-level native interface and layered network subsystem allow complex program for sensor network to be short and readable. Our platform has been ported on two currently popular hardware platforms and we show its effectiveness through the evaluation of a simple application.
It is essential to investigate the structure and the main characteristics of BSN (Bio-Sensor Network) platform in built smart healthcare environment while designing healthy housing facilities. For this study, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) data transmission technologies have been employed with medical sensors, and optimal medical devices would provide various Web 2.0 services by connecting to the WiBro network. The BSN platform normally recognizes in surroundings of WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) or WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network), and it is possible to manage sensor nodes by utilizing SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and REST (REpresentational State Transfer). In addition, the feature of SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for mobile gateway is also included for being adapted to huge network structure. Finally, BSN platform will play a role as important clues for developing personal WSN service models for smart healthy housing properties.
In this article, a smart multifunctional optical system-on-a-chip (SOC) sensor platform is presented and its application for fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor interrogation in optical sensor networks is investigated. The smart SOC sensor platform consists of a superluminescent diode as a broadband source, a tunable microelectromechanical system (MEMS) based Fabry-P$\acute{e}$rot filter, photodetectors, and an integrated microcontroller for data acquisition, processing, and communication. Integrated with a wireless sensor network (WSN) module in a compact package, a smart optical sensor node is developed. The smart multifunctional sensor platform has the capability of interrogating different types of optical fiber sensors, including Fabry-P$\acute{e}$rot sensors and Bragg grating sensors. As a case study, the smart optical sensor platform is demonstrated to interrogate multiplexed FBG strain sensors. A time domain signal processing method is used to obtain the Bragg wavelength shift of two FBG strain sensors through sweeping the MEMS tunable Fabry-P$\acute{e}$rot filter. A tuning range of 46 nm and a tuning speed of 10 Hz are achieved. The smart optical sensor platform will open doors to many applications that require high performance optical WSNs.
This paper describes the design of an asynchronous implementation of a sensor network processor. The main purpose of this work is the reduction of power consumption in sensor network node processors and the research presented here tries to explore the suitability of asynchronous circuits for this purpose. The Handshake Solutions toolkit is used to implement an asynchronous version of a sensor processor. The design is made compact, trading area and leakage power savings with dynamic power costs, targeting the typical sparse operating characteristics of sensor node processors. It is then compared with a synchronous version of the same processor. Both versions are then compared with existing commercial processors in terms of power consumption.
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is considered to be one of the most important research fields for ubiquitous healthcare (u-healthcare) applications. Healthcare systems combined with WSNs have only been introduced by several pioneering researchers. However, most researchers collect physiological data from medical nodes located at static locations and transmit them within a limited communication range between a base station and the medical nodes. In these healthcare systems, the network link can be easily broken owing to the movement of the object nodes. To overcome this issue, in this study, the fast link exchange minimum cost forwarding (FLE-MCF) routing protocol is proposed. This protocol allows real-time multi-hop communication in a healthcare system based on WSN. The protocol is designed for a multi-hop sensor network to rapidly restore the network link when it is broken. The performance of the proposed FLE-MCF protocol is compared with that of a modified minimum cost forwarding (MMCF) protocol. The FLE-MCF protocol shows a good packet delivery rate from/to a fast moving object in a WSN. The designed wearable platform utilizes an adaptive linear prediction filter to reduce the motion artifacts in the original electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. Two filter algorithms used for baseline drift removal are evaluated to check whether real-time execution is possible on our wearable platform. The experiment results shows that the ECG signal filtered by adaptive linear prediction filter recovers from the distorted ECG signal efficiently.
