인터페이스 회로의 이득 최적화를 통한 분포형 모달 변환기의 설계 (Design of Distributed Modal Transducer by Optimizing Gain-weights of Interface Circuit)

  • A modal transducer in two-dimensional structure can be implemented by varying the distributed transducer's gain spatially. In this paper, a method based on finite element method is developed for optimizing spatial gain distribution of PVDF transducer to create the modal transducer for specific modes. Using this concept, one can design the modal transducer in two-dimensional structure having arbitrary geometry and boundary conditions. As a practical means for implementing this continuous gain distribution without repoling die PVDF film, the gain distribution is approximated by optimizing gain-weights of interface circuit. The whole spatial area of the PVDF film is divided into several electrode segments and the signals from each segment are properly weighted and summed by interface circuit. This corresponds to the approximation of a continuous function using discrete values. The electrode partition is optimized using the genetic algorithm. Gain-weights are optimized using the simplex search method. A modal sensor for first to fourth modes of aluminum plate is designed using PVDF film with gain-weighted interface circuit. Various lamination angles of PVDF film are taken into consideration to utilize the anisotropy of the PVDF film. Performance of the optimized' PVDF sensor is demonstrated by numerical simulations..

  • In sensor signal conditioning and processing, offset and drift characteristics of an operational amplifier are an important factor when the amplifier is used for a precise sensor signal amplifier. In order to use it in high accuracy, an expensive trimming or a complex compensation circuit is required. This paper presents the improved sensor signal conditioning and processing device for ubiquitous sensor network(USN) application or general purpose by developing a hardware of the circuit for reducing the offset voltage and drift characteristics, and a software for its control and sensor signal processing. We realize better offset voltage and drift characteristics of the signal conditioning circuit using low cost operational amplifiers. The experimental results show that this technique is effective in improving the performance of the sensor signal processing device.

  • This paper is to develop the sensing system for opening-force measurement such as O-Ring muscular meridian. We designed to overcome the functional limit that the conventional force-sensor can measure just the closing-force. Therefore, the new sensor can meet a variety of application as well as O-Ring test. The structure of the new sensor is an actuator-type system using an electromagnet. That is made up of mechanical system, electromagnet, current transformer and computer interface circuit. Driving software and user interface program of the new sensor system also is explained in this paper.

  • 본 논문에서는 풍향 풍속 계측모듈 및 DSP 센서인터페이스 회로 보드를 포함하는 기상계측 시스템을 제안한다. 이 DSP 시스템은 풍향풍속모듈, 대기압센서, 대기 온도 센서의 정보를 받아들이고, 빠르게 처리하여 PC 모니터링 시스템에 전달한다. 특히 풍향 풍속 모듈과 DSP 하드웨어는 직접 설계하여 적용한다. 풍향 풍속 모듈은 바람에 관한 벡터적 정보를 얻기 위해 4개의 박막형 RTD(Resistive Temperature Detectors) 저항센서를 히팅 코일에 의해 일정하게 가열된 원기둥 모양의 지지 표면에 벡터적으로 배치하는 구조를 채택한다. 이 구조를 채택한 계측 모듈은 진동, 습기, 부식 등에 강인하면서 정확한 계측을 가능케 한다. 센서 신호처리 회로는 TI사의 고속 DSP인 TMS320F2812 사용한다. 적용된 풍향 풍속 모듈을 통해 얻어진 데이터와 DSP 인터페이스 회로보드의 빠른 데이터 처리를 통해 저렴한 기상계측시스템을 구성 할 수 있었다.

  • 디지털 보정 기능을 갖는 CMOS 압력 센서의 인터페이스 회로를 설계하였다. 인터페이스 회로는 아날로그 부분과 디지털 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 아날로그 부분은 센서로부터 발생한 약한 신호를 증폭시키는 역할을 담당하고 디지털 부분은 온도 보상 및 오프셋 보정 기능을 담당하며 센서 칩과 보정을 조정하는 마이크로컨트롤러와의 통신을 담당한다. 디지털 부분은 I2C 직렬 인터페이스, 메모리, 트리밍 레지스터 및 제어기로 구성된다. I2C 직렬 인터페이스는 IO 핀 수 및 실리콘 면적 면에서 실리콘 마이크로 센서의 요구에 맞게 최적화 되었다. 이 설계의 주요 부분은 최적화된 I2C 프로토콜을 구현하는 제어 회로를 설계하는 것이다. 설계된 칩은 IDEC의 MPW를 통하여 제작되었다. 칩의 테스트를 위하여 테스트 보드를 제작하였으며 테스트 결과 예상한대로 디지털 보정기능이 잘 수행됨을 확인하였다.

Development of Surface Myoelectric Sensor for Myoelectric Hand Prosthesis

  • This paper proposes a compact-sized surface myoelectric sensor for myoelectric hand prosthesis. To fit the surface myoelectric sensor in the socket of the myoelectric hand prosthesis, the sensor should be a compact size. The surface myoelectric sensor is composed of a skin interface and a single processing circuit that are mounted on a single package. Since the skin interface has one reference and two input electrodes, and the reference electrode is located in middle of two input electrodes, we propose two types of sensors with the circle- and bar-shaped reference electrode, but all input electrodes are the bar-shaped. The metal material used for the electrodes is the stainless steel (SUS440) that endures sweat and wet conditions. Considering conduction velocity and median frequency of the myoelectric signal, we select the inter-electrode distance (IED) between two input electrodes as 18mm, 20mm, and 22 mm. The signal processing circuit consists of a differential amplifier with band pass filter, a band rejection filter for rejecting 60Hz power-line noise, amplifiers, and a mean absolute value circuit. We evaluate the proposed sensor from the output characteristics according to the IED and the shape of the reference electrode. From the experimental results we show the surface myoelectric sensor with the 18mm IED and the bar-shaped reference electrode is suitable for the myoelectric hand prosthesis.

4-비트 축차근사형 아날로그-디지털 변환기를 내장한 2.5V 0.25㎛ CMOS 온도 센서 (A 2.5V 0.25㎛ CMOS Temperature Sensor with 4-bit SA ADC)

  • 본 논문에서는 칩 내부의 온도를 측정하기 위한 CMOS 온도 센서가 제안된다. 제안하는 온도 센서는 칩 내부의 온도에 비례하는 전압을 생성하는 proportional-to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) 회로와 디지털 인터페이스를 위한 4-비트 아날로그-디지털 변환기로 구성된다. 소면적을 가지는 PTAT 회로는 CMOS 공정에서 vertical PNP 구조를 이용하여 설계된다. 온도변화에 둔감한 저전력 4-비트 아날로그-디지털 변환기를 구현하기 위해 아날로그 회로를 최소로 사용하는 축차근사형 아날로그-디지털 변환기가 이용되며, 이를 위해 커패시터-기반 디지털-아날로그 변환기와 시간-도메인 비교기를 이용한다. 제안된 온도 센서는 2.5V $0.25{\mu}m$ 1-poly 6-metal CMOS 공정에서 제작되었고, $50{\sim}150^{\circ}C$ 온도 범위에서 동작한다. 구현된 온도 센서의 면적과 전력 소모는 각각 $130{\times}390{\mu}m^2$$868{\mu}W$이다.

  • We have fabricated a sensor system for on-line monitoring the oxygen permeability and diffusivity of six different polymer films using the miniaturized 6 cathode(Ag)-single anode(Ag/AgCl) type hexagonal oxygen electrode. This system consists of multiple input front-end electronics, signal conditioning circuit using the embedded microcontroller 80C196KC, PC interface circuit and PC with the OS for microcontroller and the operating program for this system. The digital low-[ass filter was programmed and the simulated filter characteristics were enough to eliminate the noise from sensor signal. According to the experimental results, the linearity coefficients of the output voltage to oxygen partial pressure for each sensor electrode of six cathode type oxygen sensor are 0.998, 0.997, 0.998, 0.997, 0.997, 0.997 respectively, and the response times are all within 4 minutes.

Configuration of Actuator and Sensor Interface Bus Network using PLC

  • A kind of field bus called Actuator and Sensor interface bus(AS-i) was designed in this paper. The configuration of AS-i network system used Application Specific Integrated Circuit(ASIC) SAP5S chip and PLC S7-200 station, which included CPU 224 and AS-i master module CP 243-2. We also created an example program for PLC S7-200 to control AS-i network. The fire and smoke detection system was made with AS-i network system that was designed. This system had got more advantages than other system such as number of stations, easy installation, wide working area, etc. And designed system can be used as a partner network for higher level field bus networks.

전류법 기반 센서의 정전압 분극 장치 회로 (Potentiostat circuits for amperometric sensor)

  • A simple and new CMOS potentiostat circuit for amperometric sensor is described. To maintain a constant potential between the reference and working electrodes, only one differential difference amplifier (DDA) is needed in proposed design, while conventional potentiosatat requires at least 2 operational amplifiers and 2 resistors, or more than 3 operational amplifiers and 4 resistors for low voltage CMOS integrated potentiostat. The DDA with rail-to-rail design not only enables the full range operation to supply voltage but also provides simple potentiostat system with small hardwares and low power consumption.
