다양한 조명하에서 실시간 눈 검출 및 추적 (Real-Time Eye Detection and Tracking Under Various Light Conditions)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 조명하에서 실시간으로 눈을 검출하고 추적하는 새로운 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 능동적 적외선을 이용한 눈 검출 및 추적 방법은 외부의 조명에 매우 민감하게 반응하는 문제점을 가지고 있으므로, 본 논문에서는 적외선 조명을 이용한 밝은 동공 효과와 전형적인 외형을 기반으로 한 사물 인식 기술을 결합하여 외부 조명의 간섭으로 밝은 동공 효과가 나타나지 않는 경우에도 견실하게 눈을 검출하고 추적 할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 눈 검출과 추적을 위해 SVM과 평균 이동 추적방법을 사용하였고, 적외선 조명과 카메라를 포함한 영상 획득 장치를 구성하여 제안된 방법이 효율적으로 다양한 조명하에서 눈 검출과 추적을 할 수 있음을 보여 주었다.

  • Modbus는 각종 자동화 장비 감시 및 제어에 전 세계적으로 널리 사용되고 있는 자발적 산업표준 통신 프로토콜이다. 그러므로 선박, 빌딩, 기차, 비행기 등 Modbus를 이용하는 모든 장비들과 연결이 가능하여 환경변수의 측정 및 원격제어가 가능하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지제어 시스템을 이용하여 외부환경요인을 각각 조합한 불확실한 내용을 정량적인 값으로 변환하여 LED 조명으로 표현하기 위해 알고리즘을 설계하고, 설계한 알고리즘에 Modbus 통신 프로토콜을 추가하여 선박의 통합관리 시스템에서 외부환경요인 확인 및 원격제어가 가능한 감성조명용 LED 제어기 회로를 설계 및 구현 하였다. 외부환경요소인 온도, 습도, 조도 값을 센서를 통해 제어기로 받아들이고 이 값들을 퍼지제어 알고리즘을 통해 LED로 표현된다. Modbus는 Serial 통신으로 RS485를 이용하여 다른 기기와 연결 되어 온도, 습도, 조도 상태 및 LED 출력 값 확인이 가능하고 또한 사용자가 원격으로 RGB 값을 변경 할 수 있기 때문에 원하는 색으로 변경이 가능하게 된다. 제작한 제어기로 온도, 습도, 조도에 따라 LED 조명색상이 변화 되는 것을 확인 하였다.

민감도 분석을 통한 종합병원 병동부의 에너지 절감 외피 설계요소 도출 (A Study on Envelope Design Variables for Energy Conservation of General Hospital Ward Area by Sensitivity Analysis)

  • Purpose: Since the large hospitals are one of the most intensive energy users among building types in Korea, it is important to investigate and apply appropriate energy conservation measures. There are many researches on energy conservation measures for HVAC system in hospitals, but only few useful guidelines for envelope design variables were existed. The building envelope is one of the important factors to building energy consumption and patients' comfort. The purpose of this study is to suggest the most influential envelope design variables for each end-use energy demand. Methods: 100 samples were generated by LHS(Latin Hypercube Sampling) method. After energy performance simulation, global sensitivity analysis was performed by the regression method. DesignBuilder, Simlab 2.2 and JEPlus were used in this process. Results: The most influencing variables are SHGC, SHGC and VT for heating, cooling, and lighting, respectively. However, the most influencing variable for total energy demand is WWR(Window to Wall Ratio). The analysis was conducted based on the coefficient of variance results. Implications: The six envelop design variables were ranked according to the end-use energy demand.

  • The quality of the environment, both natural and man-made, has unlimited influence on people's behavior and their physical and psychological well being. Interior designers shaped the indoor environment in which people live, work, perform day-to-day tasks and rest. Since designers affect a society's sensitivity and thinking, the aesthetics and ethics of the designs must respond to the most burning environmental issues of the contemporary world. This awareness is especially important now, at this critical time in the life of our planet, when humanity is facing twin catastrophes: natural resources depletion and environmental degradation. Under this concept, the purpose of this study is to configure what kind of design is ecologic and sustainable design and how we can develop ecological design as focusing on natural ventilation, natural lighting, uses of recycled materials, application of Indoor landscaping and architectural forms through several existing cases of the ecological office building.

  • This paper described a New-Concept lightning warning system (LWS) which can measure electric field intensity on the ground level by an electric field mill (EFM) and calculate the lighting location by radiated electro-magnetic waveform. The EFM measures electric field up to 20[kV/m] with the sensitivity of 0.15[V/kV/m] and frequency bandwidth of the loop antenna was ranges from 5.2[kHz] to 1.71[MHz]. The LWS provides data on the movements of thunderclouds and the possibility of lightning return stroke.

  • The purpose of this design is to find out the design for an ophthalmic hospital focusing on the patient needs and changed healthcare environment. A cellularized hospital system appears variety design. This space needs well-balanced and ease of mind, because of ophthalmic needs a clear description attention. The concept of this design is to give human colour intellect and rich colour-sense. The waiting area wall is finished the graphic design sheet of leaves, which is covered with the fluting glass and indirect lighting. The colour is extracted in nature. The colour techniques of graphic design is gradation, the colour plan select from Y to G-GB. The material is selected within natural colour. The treatment area is functional space and the waiting area is sensitivity space. The hospital design must change with user as a leader.

  • This paper describes a lighting warning system (LWS) which consists of a corona needle electrode, a low noise differential amplifier, an A/D converter, an one-chip microprocessor, a LCD and alarm devices. The corona needle electrode is used to measure electric field intensity caused by thunderclouds on the ground level. To evaluate the sensitivity of the LWS, calibration experiment was carried out using a round-shape parallel plate electrode system. The theoretical and experimental results show that the LWS can measure electric field intensity over 2 [kV/m].

Effect of Chip Wavelength and Particle Size on the Performance of Two Phosphor Coated W-LEDs

  • Most commercial white LED lamps use blue chip coated with yellow emitting phosphor. The use of blue excitable red and green phosphors is expected to improve the CRI. Several phosphors, such as $SrGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ and $(Sr,Ba)SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$, have been suggested in the past as green components. However, there are issues of the sensitivity and stability of such phosphors. Here, we describe gallium substituted $YAG:Ce^{3+}$ phosphor, as a green emitter. YAG structures are already accepted by the industry, for their stability and efficiency. LEDs with improved CRI could be fabricated by choosing $Y_3Al_4GaO_{12}:Ce^{3+}$ (green and yellow), and $SrS:Eu^{2+}$ (red) phosphors, along with blue chip. Also, the effect of a slight change in chip wavelength is studied, for two phosphor-coated w-LEDs. The reduction in particle size of the coated phosphors also gives improved w-LED characteristics.

Calibration for Color Measurement of Lean Tissue and Fat of the Beef

  • In the agricultural field, a machine vision system has been widely used to automate most inspection processes especially in quality grading. Though machine vision system was very effective in quantifying geometrical quality factors, it had a deficiency in quantifying color information. This study was conducted to evaluate color of beef using machine vision system. Though measuring color of a beef using machine vision system had an advantage of covering whole lean tissue area at a time compared to a colorimeter, it revealed the problem of sensitivity depending on the system components such as types of camera, lighting conditions, and so on. The effect of color balancing control of a camera was investigated and multi-layer BP neural network based color calibration process was developed. Color calibration network model was trained using reference color patches and showed the high correlation with L*a*b* coordinates of a colorimeter. The proposed calibration process showed the successful adaptability to various measurement environments such as different types of cameras and light sources. Compared results with the proposed calibration process and MLR based calibration were also presented. Color calibration network was also successfully applied to measure the color of the beef. However, it was suggested that reflectance properties of reference materials for calibration and test materials should be considered to achieve more accurate color measurement.
