Thin film gas sensor based on tin oxide was fabricated and its characteristics were examined. Target gas is acetonitrile ($CH_{3}CN$) that is simulant gas of blood agent gas. Sensing materials are $SnO_{2}$, $SnO_{2}$/Pt, and (Sn/Pt)oxidation with thickness from $1000{\AA}$ to $3000{\AA}$. Sensor was consisted of sensing electrode with interdigit (IDT) type in front side and a heater in back side. Its dimension was $7{\times}10{\times}0.6mm^{3}$. Fabricated sensor was measured as flow type and monitored real time using PC. The optimal sensing material for $CH_{3}CN$ was {Sn($3000{\AA}$)/Pt($30{\AA}$)}oxidation and its sensitivity and operating temperature were 30%, $300^{\circ}C$ in $CH_{3}CN$ 3 ppm.

Nerve gas sensor based on tin oxide was fabricated and its characteristics were examined. Target gas is dimethyl methyl phosphonate(C$_3$$H_{9}$$O_3$P, DMMP) that is simulant gas of nerve gas. Sensing materials were Sn $O_2$ added a-Al$_2$$O_3$ with 0∼20wt.% and were physically mixed each material. They were deposited by screen printing method on alumina substrate. The sensor device was consisted of sensing electrode with interdigit(IDT) type in front and a heater in back side. Total size of device was 7${\times}$10${\times}$0.6㎣. Crystallite size & phase identification and morphology of fabricated Sn $O_2$ powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and by a scanning electron microscope, respectively. Fabricated sensor was measured as flow type and resistance change of sensing material was monitored as real time using LabVIEW program. The best sensitivity was 75% at adding 4wt.% $\alpha$-Al$_2$$O_3$, operating temperature 30$0^{\circ}C$ to DMMP 0.5ppm. Response and recovery time were about 1 and 3min., respectively. Repetition measurement was very good with $\pm$3% in full scale.TEX>$\pm$3% in full scale.
The transient nature and complex flow geometries of two-phase gas-liquid flows cause fundamental difficulties when measuring flow velocity using an electromagnetic flowmeter. Recently, a current-sensing flowmeter was introduced to obtain measurements with high temporal resolution (Ahn et $al.^{(1)}$). In this study, current-sensing flowmeter theory was applied to measure the fast velocity transients in slug flows. To do this, the velocity fields of axisymmetric gas-liquid slug flow in a vertical pipe were obtained using Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method and the virtual potential distributions for the electrodes of finite size were also computed using the finite volume method for the simulated slug flow. The output signal prediction for slug flow was carried out from the velocity and virtual potential (or weight function) fields. The flowmeter was numerically calibrated to obtain the cross-sectional liquid mean velocity at an electrode plane from the predicted output signal. Two calibration parameters are required for this procedure: a flow pattern coefficient and a localization parameter. The flow pattern coefficient was defined by the ratio of the liquid resistance between the electrodes for two-phase flow with respect to that for single-phase flow, and the localization parameter was introduced to avoid errors in the flowmeter readings caused by liquid acceleration or deceleration around the electrodes. These parameters were also calculated from the computed velocity and virtual potential fields. The results can be used to obtain the liquid mean velocity from the slug flow signal measured by a current-sensing flowmeter.
As the attachable-type wearable devices have received considerable interests, the need for the development of high-performance electrode materials of fabric or textiles type is emerging. In this study, we demonstrated the electrochemical property of CNT fibers electrode as a flexible electrode material and its non-enzymatic glucose sensing performance. Surface morphology of CNT fibers was observed by SEM. And the electrochemical characteristics were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and chronoamperometry. The CNT fibers based sensor exhibited improved sensing performances such as high sensitivity, a wide linear range, and low detection limit due to improved electrochemical properties such as low capacitive current, good electrochemical activity by efficient direct electron transfer between the redox species and the electrode interface. Therefore, this study is expected to be used as a basic research for the development of high performance flexible electrode materials based on CNT fibers.
In this study, highly sensitive hydrogen micro gas sensors of the multi-layer and micro-heater type were designed and fabricated using the micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) process and palladium catalytic metal. The dimensions of the fabricated hydrogen gas sensor were about $5mm{\times}4mm$ and the sensing layer of palladium metal was deposited in the middle of the device. The sensing palladium films were modified to be nano-honeycomb and nano-hemisphere structures using an anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template and nano-sized polystyrene beads, respectively. The sensitivities (Rs), which are the ratio of the relative resistance were significantly improved and reached levels of 0.783% and 1.045 % with 2,000 ppm H2 at $70^{\circ}C$ for nano-honeycomb and nano-hemisphere structured Pd films, respectively, on the other hand, the sensitivity was 0.638% for the plain Pd thin film. The improvement of sensitivities for the nano-honeycomb and nano-hemisphere structured Pd films with respect to the plain Pd-thin film was thought to be due to the nanoporous surface topographies of AAO and nano-sized polystyrene beads.

Coriolis mass flowmeter(CMF), which can measure the mass flow directly, is getting rapid attention for the industrial and custody transfer purpose. In order to study the characteristics and the applicability of CMF, it is tested with the national flow standard system. Two types of sensing tube, U-type and straight type, are employed in the test. Water, spindle oil and viscosity Standard Reference Material whose viscosities are 1, 20 and, 67 $\textrm{mm}^2$/s, respectively, are studied. It is shown that the linearity of CMF is getting deteriorated as the fluid viscosity increases, which is due to the zero drift and the relaxation time of the fluid. To test its applicability in the case of high pressured gas, it is calibrated using compressed air, It shows 1∼l.6 % deviations compared to the calibration results using water. It concludes that the fluid velocity in CMF should be lower than the sonic velocity. In addition, the effects of the vibration from the pipeline and pump on CMF as well as the long term stability are studied.

Bacteria sense their population density and coordinate the expression of target genes, including virulence factors in Gram-negative bacteria, by the N-acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs)-dependent quorum sensing (QS) mechanism. In contrast, several soil bacteria are able to interfere with QS by enzymatic degradation of AHLs, referred to as quorum quenching. A potent AHL-degrading enzyme, AiiA, from Bacillus thuringiensis has been reported to effectively attenuate the virulence of bacteria by quorum quenching. However, little is known about the role of AiiA in B. thuringiensis itself. In the present study, an aiiA-defective mutant was generated to investigate the role of AHA in rhizosphere competence in the root system of pepper. The aiiA mutant showed no detectable AHL¬-egrading activity and was less effective for suppression of soft-rot symptom caused by Erwinia carotovora on the potato slice. On the pepper root, the survival rate of the aiiA mutant significantly decreased over time compared with that of wild type. Interestingly, viable cell count analysis revealed that the bacterial number and composition of E. carotovora were not different between treatments of wild type and the aiiA mutant. These results provide evidence that AHA can play an important role in rhizosphere competentce of B. thuringiensis and bacterial quorum quenching to Gram-negative bacteria without changing bacterial number or composition.
With the development of cognitive science and environmental psychology, there have been growing researches and discussions on the relationship between the residential design preferences and personality types. MBTI personality types have been earning popular credibility. MBTI means Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It is based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological type. This study is based on Myers-Briggs theory to explain residential furnishing preference and explores the relationship between the four bi-polar personality types-Extroversion/Introversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Perceiving and residential furnishing preference. These tests were conducted to two hundred and twelve adult residents who live in Seoul, Korea. These tests were analyzed several significances by Chi-Square with SPSS for windows software. (E) Extroverted residents prefer layouts for interaction with guests. (I) Introverted residents prefer centripetal layout around the bed. (S) Sensing residents prefer practical and functional layouts. (N) Intuitive residents prefer personal and conceiving layouts. (T) Thinking residents prefer for attribute of space. (F) Feeling residents for familiar conversation. (J) Judging residents prefer systematic and complete layouts. (P) Perceiving residents prefer adaptable and flexible layouts. In conclusion, personality types can have a determining role in preference of residential furnishing layouts. This study suggests that residential designers should take into account clients' personality types prefer effective designing and should provide a variety of alternatives reflecting clients' preferences. This will promote clients' pleasantness and satisfaction in dwelling at home.

Recently, along with the development of IoT technology, technologies for wirelessly sensing various data, such as sensor nodes, RFID, CCTV, smart phones, etc., have rapidly developed, and in the field of multiple applications, to utilize sensor network related technology Have been actively pursued in various fields. Therefore, as GeoSensor utilization increases, query processing systems for efficiently processing 2D data such as spatial sensor data are actively researched. However, existing spatial query processing systems do not support a spatial-temporal data type and a spatial-temporal operator for processing spatial-temporal sensor data. Therefore, they are inadequate for processing spatial-temporal sensor data like GeoSensor. Accordingly, this paper developed a spatial-temporal query processing system, for efficient spatial-temporal query processing of spatial-temporal sensor data in a sensor network.
This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of CrN thin-film type pessure sensors, in which the sensing elements were deposited on SUS. 630 diaphragm by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-nitride atmosphere(Ar-(10%) $N_2$). The optimized condition of CrN thin-film sensing elements was thickness range of 3500$\AA$ and annealing condition($300^{\circ}C$, 3 hr) in Ar-10 %$N_2$ deposition atmosphere. Under optimum conditions, the CrN thin-films for strain gauges is obtained a high resistivity, $\rho$=1147.65 ${\mu}{\Omega}$cm, a low temperature coefficient of resistance, TCR=-186 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ and a high temporal stability with a good longitudinal, 11.17. The output sensitivity of fabricated CrN thin-film type pressure sensors is 2.36 mV/V, 4$\sim$20 mA and the maximum non-linearity is 0.4 %FS and hysteresis is less than 0.2 %FS..
