Evaluation of DoP-CPD Classification Technique and Multi Looking Effects for RADARSAT-2 Images

  • This paper give further assessment on the original DoP-CPD classification scheme. This paper provides some additional comparative study on the DoP-CPD with H/A/alpha classifier in terms of multi look effects and classification performances. The statistics and multi looking effects of the DoP and CPD were analyzed with measured polarimetric SAR data. DoP-CPD is less sensitive to the number of averaging pixels than the entropy-alpha technique. A DoP-CPD diagram with appropriate boundaries between six different classes was then developed based on the data analysis. A polarimetric SAR image DoP-CPD classification technique is verified with C-band polarimetric RADARSAT-2 images.

  • The main objective of this research is to utilize the parallel Fuzzy arithmetic for constructing ocean bathymetry from polarized remote sensing data such as TOPSAR image. In doing so, the parallel library for Fuzzy arithmetic has been developed. Three- dimensional surface modeling consisted of Volettra model, non-linear model which construct a global topological structure between the data points, used to support an approximation of real surface. The output of the parallel library was a digital terrain model for bathymetry along the coastal waters of Kuala Terengganu Malaysia. This paper describes the principles behind the Fuzzy algorithm, indicates for what type of application it might be useful, notes on the accuracy and gives an example of an application.

  • There have been continued effects to develop various types of chemical sensors according to the demands in many application fields such as safety, pollution, environment, medical engineering and food industries etc. In this review, the author intended to cover the general aspects of chemical sensors, including the history of the development, the classification, the sensing properties, and the types and application examples. And the future outlook of the chemical sensor technology, focusing on the advanced materials, high technology fusion, miniaturized intelligent system and ubiquitous sensor networks etc., has been described.

  • Recently microwave remote sensing technology is widely used in Global environment study. Expecially Synthetic Aperture Radar sensing technique has many application to geographic information. Proposed AIRSAR Pacific Rim Deployment 2000(PACRIM2) is a NASA-sponsored science mission. AIRSAR is a test-bed instrument for new radar technologies in near future from space shuttle and satellite systems. In this paper the overview of PACRIM2 overview and sensors are introduced. Examples of processed data from new sensors are also shown.

  • The discussion in this paper aims to introduce an approach to detect drowsiness with Android based smartphones using the OpenCV platform tools. OpenCV for Android actually provides powerful tools for real-time body's parts tracking. We discuss here about the maximization of the accuracy in real-time eye tracking. Then we try to develop an approach for detecting eye blink by analyzing the structure and color variations of human eyes. Finally, we introduce a time variable to capture drowsiness.

  • The equation based on vector inner product by the angles between pairs of two image rays can independently separate the position and pose of a camera. As our second application, the exterior calibration between a camera and a laser range finder is proposed here through analysis of surfaces created by the equation.

  • Shaft position sensing is essential in Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) in order to synchronize the phase excitation pulses to the rotor position. In low cost application, particularly at low power level, the shaft position sensor is too costly. This paper describes low cost SRM drive system that can control torque and speed utilizing a optointerrupter with slotted disc. The validity of the proposed scheme is verified by experimental results for 6/4 SRM drive system.

  • Recently, the world's Information Society, already central to humankind, is rapidly changing towards a fully ubiquitous computing society through the development of USN technology. USN application web services provide convenience through environment recognition as well as automatic recognition of specific situations all through the use of USN technology. It has been proven that it can also enable the safety of human life by providing an optimal service through real-time management. Therefore, USN application web services using such technology can be applied to various aspects of life. In this paper, we have implemented a scenario of with a specific user requirement regarding collected meta-data and sensing data based USN technology. We have implemented a visualization of the solutions suitable for each scenario.

  • Recently, it is studying to provide to users through internet in the SensorWeb of OGC(Open Geospatial Consortium) saving and maintaining data and image information gathered from sensor network. It is necessary to study about data convergence as binding audio and video for delivering the sensing data and image information to users with real-time system. In this article, it suggests how to convergence sensing data and moving picture collected from the sensor network using index. This program indicates both of them that collected sensing data and information identified of moving picture in the integration index and based on this program provides sensing data moving picture at the same time referencing integration index, if the user asks. To verify suggested method designing real-time multimedia service structure using sensor network and image installation and implementing Ubiquitous realtime multimedia system integrating moving picture and sensing data based on index. As a result of this program, it is confirmed providing real-time multimedia service to request information of application service using integration index collected image and sensing data from wireless sensor network and image installation suggested data convergence method.
