In the food market, kiosks are rapidly expanding. The kiosk improves the in-store consumer experience and economic prosperity of businesses. This research explores the continuance use intention of kiosks via a post-acceptance model with four antecedent variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, confirmation, and satisfaction. An online survey was conducted with 420 senior consumers, aged 50-70, who have experienced kiosk services. This study used SPSS 25.0 for descriptive analysis and Amos 23.0 for confirmatory factor anlysis, structural equation analysis, and mediate the effect of the bootstrapping method. The following results were obtained. First, perceived usefulness and confirmation significantly influenced satisfaction with kiosks. Second, perceived usefulness and satisfaction significantly influenced continuance use intention. Third, satisfaction mediated the relationship between perceived usefulness and continuance use intention. Fourth, satisfaction mediated the relationship between confirmation and continuance use intention. These findings enhanced the understanding of seniors' attitude and response to kiosk services.
Subsidiary welfare facilities in an apartment complex are one of the most important factors for consumers when they buy an apartment due to an increase of consumers' consciousness level, increase of leisure time, and increase of cultural life. This study aims to analyze layout types and characteristics of subsidiary welfare facilities at the apartment complexes in the second phase new towns, investigate the current situation and find out the improvement direction. For this purpose, this author investigated three "second phase new towns" which were designated as a new town at similar time, and selected a total of 15 apartment complexes by selecting 5 complexes in each of the three new towns. Literature survey, case visit, photo shoot, user observation survey were used as study methods. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that a mixed type was the most common type of plane layout types in the subsidiary welfare facilities. This type improves accessibility and equity of the residents as the facilities are appropriately placed based on the functions and the user characteristics. Second, it can be considered that a distributed type for senior citizen centers and daycare centers may give independence to specific users, but it may give a sense of alienation to the elderly. Moreover, it does not have enough community so that it is necessary to make proper supplementation. Third, there were two lay out types. The first one is that the subsidiary welfare facilities are placed with step difference and the second one is that they are placed in sunken places using the underground space. Fourth, all layout types of outdoor facilities are distributed types, and it is considered that measurements for a proper balance of accessibility and equity are required.
This research not only determined the preference of fashion brand distribution channels of active Korean and Chinese seniors who became major consumers in the fashion industry, but also analyzed the effect on these preferences and choices of distribution channels depending on personal consumption characteristics and differences between the two groups. Data was collected by a professional survey firm. SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 were used for empirical analysis, and frequency analysis, multiple response analysis, EFA, reliability analysis, CFA, SEM, and multiple-group comparison analysis were performed. As a result of multiple response analysis, the offline channel was revealed as the preferred fashion distribution channel for active Korean and Chinese seniors; the second most popular was the online channel. The results of multiple-group comparison analysis reveal differences between two groups in seeking emotional consumption via the offline channel; the effect was only evident for active Korean seniors. A difference in seeking emotional consumption via preference for online channel also existed, but only for active Chinese seniors. For these reasons, marketers targeting active Korean seniors will be effective to not only offer brand information by fashion display to let seniors understand the fashion brand, but also to have brand events to form positive emotions toward the fashion brand. Moreover, targeting active Chinese seniors will be necessary to transmit brand sensibility by utilizing metaverse marketing comprising various factors, so that consumers can enjoy the fashion brand.
Indonesian women have emerged as global consumers, and various studies are needed to expand the global fashion market targeting their needs. In this study, a survey was conducted to determine the fashion design preferences of Indonesian Muslim women according to demographic characteristics and religious variables. In this study, Indonesian women aged from their teens to their 40s were surveyed by questionnaire during June 2020. This yielded 301 survey responses, which were analyzed using χ2-test, t-test, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test using SPSS23. The results of the study are as follows: Analysis of the demographic characteristics of Indonesian Muslim women and the degree of acceptance of fashion trends according to religious variables showed significant differences according to age, monthly income, and the extent to which they wore a hijab. Analysis of the demographic characteristics of the women and the degree of acceptance of the fitted garment according to religious variables showed significant differences depending on their age, whether they were married, their monthly income, religious faithfulness, the extent to which they wore a hijab, and the degree of acceptance of Islamic discipline. After examining the difference in Muslim women's preferred fashion images (according to demographic characteristics and religious variables), significant differences were identified according to their age, income, extent to which they wore a hijab, and the degree of Islamic discipline with regard to clothing.
The purpose of this study is to determine the concepts of heterotopic image and fashion space, and the characteristics of fashion space and images from the perspective of fashion brands and users. This study examines the evolution of fashion space and consumers with it, based on Foucault's theory of heterotopia, which refers to spaces that blend contradictory features not typically found within a single physical structure. This is accomplished by employing a single case study of Ader Error's Ader Space, a Seoul-based brand known for its unique approach to presenting and communicating fashion. Based on an analysis of Instagram posts of Ader Error along with the hashtag searches "aderspace" and "adererror", this study categorizes heterotopia from the perspective of fashion brands into three properties: fashion space as a medium for selling fashion products; fashion space as getaway to hybrid fashion practices; and fashion space as an illusionary place to experience fashion. From the user perspective, the heterotopic image of Ader Space portrayed on Instagram is characterized by the image of fashion products in an extraordinary fashion space, the image of a fashion space beyond space and time, and the image of exposing the hidden and the illusion-compensation of fashion space. This study contributes to a heightened understanding of the evolutionary concept of the fashion space.
Consumers of e-learning market differ from those of other markets in that they are replaced in a specific time scale. For example, e-learning contents aimed at highschool senior students cannot be consumed by a specific consumer over the designated period of time. Hence e-learning service providers need to attract new groups of students every year. Due to lack of information on products designed for continuously emerging consumers, the consumers face difficulties in making rational decisions in a short time period. Increased uncertainty of product purchase leads customers to herding behaviors to obtain information of the product from others and imitate them. Taking into consideration of these features of e-learning market, this study will focus on the online herding behavior in purchasing e-learning contents. There is no definite concept for e-learning. However, it is being discussed in a wide range of perspectives from educational engineering to management to e-business etc. Based upon the existing studies, we identify two main view-points regarding e-learning. The first defines e-learning as a concept that includes existing terminologies, such as CBT (Computer Based Training), WBT (Web Based Training), and IBT (Internet Based Training). In this view, e-learning utilizes IT in order to support professors and a part of or entire education systems. In the second perspective, e-learning is defined as the usage of Internet technology to deliver diverse intelligence and achievement enhancing solutions. In other words, only the educations that are done through the Internet and network can be classified as e-learning. We take the second definition of e-learning for our working definition. The main goal of this study is to investigate what factors affect consumer intention to purchase e-learning contents and to identify the differential impact of the factors between consumers with purchase experience and those without the experience. To accomplish the goal of this study, it focuses on herding behavior and perceived usefulness as antecedents to behavioral intention. The proposed research model in the study extends the Technology Acceptance Model by adding herding behavior and usability to take into account the unique characteristics of e-learning content market and e-learning systems use, respectively. The current study also includes consumer experience with e-learning content purchase because the previous experience is believed to affect purchasing intention when consumers buy experience goods or services. Previous studies on e-learning did not consider the characteristics of e-learning contents market and the differential impact of consumer experience on the relationship between the antecedents and behavioral intention, which is the target of this study. This study employs a survey method to empirically test the proposed research model. A survey questionnaire was developed and distributed to 629 informants. 528 responses were collected, which consist of potential customer group (n = 133) and experienced customer group (n = 395). The data were analyzed using PLS method, a structural equation modeling method. Overall, both herding behavior and perceived usefulness influence consumer intention to purchase e-learning contents. In detail, in the case of potential customer group, herding behavior has stronger effect on purchase intention than does perceived usefulness. However, in the case of shopping-experienced customer group, perceived usefulness has stronger effect than does herding behavior. In sum, the results of the analysis show that with regard to purchasing experience, perceived usefulness and herding behavior had differential effects upon the purchase of e-learning contents. As a follow-up analysis, the interaction effects of the number of purchase transaction and herding behavior/perceived usefulness on purchase intention were investigated. The results show that there are no interaction effects. This study contributes to the literature in a couple of ways. From a theoretical perspective, this study examined and showed evidence that the characteristics of e-learning market such as continuous renewal of consumers and thus high uncertainty and individual experiences are important factors to be considered when the purchase intention of e-learning content is studied. This study can be used as a basis for future studies on e-learning success. From a practical perspective, this study provides several important implications on what types of marketing strategies e-learning companies need to build. The bottom lines of these strategies include target group attraction, word-of-mouth management, enhancement of web site usability quality, etc. The limitations of this study are also discussed for future studies.
Korea's baby boomers constitute a quarter of the population structure, and they are now faced with super-aged era represented by the life expectancy of 100 years. Since this generation who played a leading role in economic growth of the country has needs for active participation in society and continuous economic activities based on the healthy bodies, sufficient wealth and desires for cultural consumption, it is called 'active seniors' as a new demographic class differentiated from the conventional elder generation. This study was intended to investigate housing needs of baby boomers as preliminary seniors in Seoul with the highest residential density of the baby boomers through a bottom-up process from the perspective of consumers, and to select the findings as criteria for residential complex plans. The analysis results showed that 'social accessibility' was most highly valued among baby boomers in Seoul, and 'medical accessibility' was determined to be the second most important factor. Other items such as 'convenience of living' and 'spatial cognition' were ranked as the least important factors. These findings suggest that the life style of baby boomers in Seoul is very similar to that pursued by active seniors in terms of life cycle, and it is determined to be a characteristic as a niche for housing needs different from the one found in conventional elder generation.
With the broader range of information and communications technology, of which fashion is a foundational medium, to analyze fashion as an information technology in order to better understand the industry's desire for intellectual property protection, popular resistance to such protection, and the most efficacious balance between them in terms of creative expression. Due to desire for more variation from male consumers within the men's fashion market in Korea, there has been an ongoing development of departmentalization of fashion styles. The Generation-X man, in particular, is the most active member of our current day society, and will be the principal agent in the senior market from here on forth. Thus, this study categorized their preferred fashion styles, and will seek to analyze the behaviors related to the pursuit of clothing of the Generation-X man. The qualitative investigations of the Q-method as well as the quantitative investigation of the SPSS 12.0 were used in conjunction as the method of study. Additionally, images and types resulting from the preceding first-year study entitled "The Type and Characteristics of the Modern Men's Fashion Images" were utilized as part of the surveys. As a result of the Q-method, which was used to derive the preferred fashion styles of the Generation-X man, they were classified into three categories: the classic suit preferring 'conservative class type', the polished, comfortable style preferring 'modern sophisticated type', and the adventure and variety seeking 'uninhibited individualistic style'. After analyzing the factors which influence clothing preference behaviors of these men, a total of seven causes were drawn from the results, including: conservative indifference to fashion, others conscious pursuit of fashion, the aim to show off brand name products, high involvement in the aspect of design, pursuit of TPO, pursuit of self-image, and conformity to fashion. The elements that revealed differences in the behaviors in pursuing clothing within the preferred fashion style types of the Generation-X man included the conservative indifference to fashion, and others conscious pursuit of fashion, which therefore shows that rather than enjoying the fashion lifestyle, these men possess a more conservative disposition instead.
The Korean dairy industry has been developed continuously for the past seventy years both in quality and quantity; now the total amount of dairy products accounts for 13 percent of that of livestock production - a remarkable turnover. Korea now stands at the 13th economic power around the world and it is inevitable that we must pursue an open-door policy at a global level; the dairy industry should also strengthen its potentialities in the long term in order to compete with advanced dairy countries. It is predicted that the impact of DDA agreement and FTA negotiations on the domestic dairy industry will be great; so it is urgently needed that we should reconsider the current status of the dairy industry and comprehensive mesures for dairy industry development to improve its international competitiveness. Such measures comprise the three aspects: first, reforming the policy of dairy industry-related systems, second, improving the productivity and third, expanding the consumption of dairy products. In terms of the system reforming, the most important things are, above all, the planned production relevant to market needs, the milk supply and demand management, and the raw milk transaction method. Secondly, the appropriate scale of management is important for the enhancement of productivity together with the modernization of dairy facilities. Thirdly, step-up effort is needed to expand the milk consumption; especially, more milk should be provided to the students by improving the standing milk ration system in middle and senior high schools. The government should make more effort to support and develop new dairy products tuned to consumers' taste, accelerating the publicity of diverse and steady milk consumption together with related organizations.
