A Study on the Purchasing Practice for Standardization System for Purchasing School Uniforms (교복 구매 표준화를 위한 소비자 구매 실태 조사 연구)

  • This study suggests basic data for the standardization of school uniform purchase by examining the statistics of purchasing practice school uniforms from information sources, purchasing methods, and consumer' perception about collaborative purchases. A survey was conducted with first grade male and female middle-school students, and their parents. A total of 344 questionnaires were returned and analyzed. The results were as follows: first, when making purchases, information sources were explained by parents, friends, senior students, or workers at uniform shops. The purchasing methods were popular brand uniforms or specialized uniform shops. Second, four factors were extracted from purchasing data for factor analysis. The factors were comfort, appearance, service, other external factors, and promotions. Third, the perception analysis and need of collaborative purchases were indicated by 90% of the students' parents, who were aware of collaborative purchase. Additionally, 71.2% answered collaborative purchase was necessary. Fourth, for future uniform purchases, 75.6% of the students answered to buy more popular brands, or products from specialized school uniform shops, while 54.4% of the parents answered positively to collaborative purchases. The results of the examination of consumer school uniform purchasing behavior will provide useful strategies for the standardization system for purchasing school uniforms.

Relationship between the Attitudes toward Underwear and Personal Characteristics of University Female Students in Cheongju (청주지역 여대생의 속옷에 대한 태도와 개인적 특성과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study were to elicit the attitudes toward underwear, to compare the difference according to the demographic variables, and to find the relationship between the attitudes toward underwear and social-psychological characteristics of university female students in Cheongju city. The questionnaires were to measure the attitudes toward underwear, the demographic information, and social-psychological characteristics. As statistical analysis, frequencies, mean, t-test, F-test, factor analysis, and correlation were used. The results were as follows: 1) The female students regarded tactile sensation of underwear fabrics as the important element in their attitude toward underwear, while they showed a little interest about gorgeous underwear style. 2) The freshman students have strongly. fixed ideas about the under wear, the other(sophomore, junior, senior) students showed more interest in decorative and fashionable aspects of underwear. 3) The attitudes toward underwear were classifies into six factors; intension about high quality, decorative design, stereotype, immodesty, style and comfort. 4) There were partially significant differences according to demographic variables in the attitudes toward underwear. 5) Also, there were significant correlations between the social-psychological characteristics and the attitudes toward underwear.

Identity Formation and Self-Reflection Strategies in the Development of Apparel Design ePortfolios

  • Visual literacy, a key element of a design portfolio, is achieved by communicating a consistent visual aesthetic with respect to design elements, design principles and individual style. Yet, students often feel challenged in articulating their personal aesthetic or design philosophy in order to create a unifying design identity within a body of artifacts. This paper shares some best practices on overcoming this challenge through students' engagement in self-reflection and identity formation processes. The implemented innovative strategy in a senior-level portfolio development course for apparel designers involved four different phases: 1) one-on-one meetings to self-reflect on previous design work, 2) selection and revision of artifacts, 3) peer-review and critiques of revised portfolio artifacts, and 4) development of a final ePortfolio to showcase a unified design identity. It was evident that recording students' initial self-reflection in the form of a metacognitive oral report encouraged and motivated identity development in their portfolio. Further, students expressed their satisfaction in the ability to participate in the selection process of artifacts by self-reflecting about what they wanted to highlight about themselves and why. Overall, student outcomes from this strategy exceeded expectations and the portfolios developed were successful in creating a cohesive design identity.

  • Purpose: Although numerous research has covered content on trends in the adoption and use of wearable devices, their uses across several sectors such as healthcare, gaming, and fashion, there seems to be a considerable paucity with regard to empirical research focusing on the solutions for factors that undermine the effectiveness of wearable devices in healthcare. The present research aims to highlight what has been covered on wearable devices in healthcare while highlighting the limitations for future research. Research design, data, and methodology -The present authors conducted one of the most famous qualitative literature approach which has been called as PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. The selecting criteria for eligible prior studies was estimated by whether studies are suitable for the current research, identifying they are peer-reviewed and issued by notable publishers between 2017 and 2022. Result - Our results indicated that (1) Increasing the Affordability and User Education on Wearable Devices in Healthcare (2) Tackling the Technological Issues in Wearable Devices to Promote Healthcare Delivery (3) Solving Security and Privacy Issues Associated with Wearable Devices (4) Promoting Standards and Appropriate Regulations for Wearable Devices. Conclusion - To add, resolving the technological issues associated with wearable devices in healthcare will ensure that the new devices in the market will have longer battery life, multiple functions, and enhanced accuracy, thus ensuring that patients receive better care. Necessary interventions are taken on time to avoid any deleterious consequences such as proliferating mortality rates among the different patient groups.

  • The purpose of this study is to diagnose actual condition of preference of hair-styling, hair-styling techniques, management, grasping a consumer's consciousness, etc with women living in a city. The survey was gotten to a feminine customer who visited the ten of beauty-shops in shopping center. And statistical data about the actual condition of hair-styling preference realities, hair-styling method and style management was entered into the SPSS statistics analysis system. In brief, be as follows by the results of study. There showed significant difference that noted in hair-style information and basis alternative a beauty salon, there were able to know people whose age is from 20's to 40's got mainly an influence of public media very much and from 40's to 50's got mainly an influence of people around them. Basis alternative of a beauty salon showed significant difference to follow age categories. It appeared that introducing from people around them have a effect on the 20's and 30's, and 40's got an influence of convenience of traffic, and 50's got mainly the shortest distance. In an attitude toward a hair style, especially toward hair cut, a case to do hair cut was most a lot of in own selections, and its result was independent of age categories. The reason that wants to give a chance was most a lot of thinking without an age. Preference length of hair cut showed a significant difference according to age. In permanent section, own selections appeared most regardless of age. And in the permanent motive, also, to have a change appeared most regardless of age. And people had a preference natural to role up to setting regardless of age in permanent wave. In hair color section, women whose age is 20's, 30's, 40's had a motive for a change, on the other hand, 50's and their senior had a motive for a gray hair. Women of all over the age almost knew a fashion color, and they had a preference brown color. In a preference way along a hair color kind, there was a significant difference according to age, also. 20's and 30's did mainly 'semi-permanent coating' and 40's and 50's did mainly 'permanent hair color'. In a attitude about a hair-style management, the more age is young, the more a period is long term. And the more age is old, the more the outlay for price of cut is expensive. But, on the contrary, permanent price showed that the more age is young, the more the outlay for price of permanent is expensive. In hair color, the more age is old, the more a period is short and the more price is low.

Retail Product Development and Brand Management Collaboration between Industry and University Student Teams (산업여대학학생단대지간적령수산품개발화품패관리협작(产业与大学学生团队之间的零售产品开发和品牌管理协作))

  • This paper describes a collaborative project between academia and industry which focused on improving the marketing and product development strategies for two private label apparel brands of a large regional department store chain in the southeastern United States. The goal of the project was to revitalize product lines of the two brands by incorporating student ideas for new solutions, thereby giving the students practical experience with a real-life industry situation. There were a number of key players involved in the project. A privately-owned department store chain based in the southeastern United States which was seeking an academic partner had recognized a need to update two existing private label brands. They targeted middle-aged consumers looking for casual, moderately priced merchandise. The company was seeking to change direction with both packaging and presentation, and possibly product design. The branding and product development divisions of the company contacted professors in an academic department of a large southeastern state university. Two of the professors agreed that the task would be a good fit for their classes - one was a junior-level Intermediate Brand Management class; the other was a senior-level Fashion Product Development class. The professors felt that by working collaboratively on the project, students would be exposed to a real world scenario, within the security of an academic learning environment. Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team has the advantage of providing experiences and resources beyond the capabilities of a single student and adds "brainpower" to problem-solving processes (Lowman 2000). This goal of improving the capabilities of students directed the instructors in each class to form interdisciplinary teams between the Branding and Product Development classes. In addition, many universities are employing industry partnerships in research and teaching, where collaboration within temporal (semester) and physical (classroom/lab) constraints help to increase students' knowledge and experience of a real-world situation. At the University of Tennessee, the Center of Industrial Services and UT-Knoxville's College of Engineering worked with a company to develop design improvements in its U.S. operations. In this study, Because should be lower case b with a private label retail brand, Wickett, Gaskill and Damhorst's (1999) revised Retail Apparel Product Development Model was used by the product development and brand management teams. This framework was chosen because it addresses apparel product development from the concept to the retail stage. Two classes were involved in this project: a junior level Brand Management class and a senior level Fashion Product Development class. Seven teams were formed which included four students from Brand Management and two students from Product Development. The classes were taught the same semester, but not at the same time. At the beginning of the semester, each class was introduced to the industry partner and given the problem. Half the teams were assigned to the men's brand and half to the women's brand. The teams were responsible for devising approaches to the problem, formulating a timeline for their work, staying in touch with industry representatives and making sure that each member of the team contributed in a positive way. The objective for the teams was to plan, develop, and present a product line using merchandising processes (following the Wickett, Gaskill and Damhorst model) and develop new branding strategies for the proposed lines. The teams performed trend, color, fabrication and target market research; developed sketches for a line; edited the sketches and presented their line plans; wrote specifications; fitted prototypes on fit models, and developed final production samples for presentation to industry. The branding students developed a SWOT analysis, a Brand Measurement report, a mind-map for the brands and a fully integrated Marketing Report which was presented alongside the ideas for the new lines. In future if the opportunity arises to work in this collaborative way with an existing company who wishes to look both at branding and product development strategies, classes will be scheduled at the same time so that students have more time to meet and discuss timelines and assigned tasks. As it was, student groups had to meet outside of each class time and this proved to be a challenging though not uncommon part of teamwork (Pfaff and Huddleston, 2003). Although the logistics of this exercise were time-consuming to set up and administer, professors felt that the benefits to students were multiple. The most important benefit, according to student feedback from both classes, was the opportunity to work with industry professionals, follow their process, and see the results of their work evaluated by the people who made the decisions at the company level. Faculty members were grateful to have a "real-world" case to work with in the classroom to provide focus. Creative ideas and strategies were traded as plans were made, extending and strengthening the departmental links be tween the branding and product development areas. By working not only with students coming from a different knowledge base, but also having to keep in contact with the industry partner and follow the framework and timeline of industry practice, student teams were challenged to produce excellent and innovative work under new circumstances. Working on the product development and branding for "real-life" brands that are struggling gave students an opportunity to see how closely their coursework ties in with the real-world and how creativity, collaboration and flexibility are necessary components of both the design and business aspects of company operations. Industry personnel were impressed by (a) the level and depth of knowledge and execution in the student projects, and (b) the creativity of new ideas for the brands.

  • 'Entrepreneurship' spread like fashion, then it was a term that is no stranger to the youth. Entrepreneurship education for young people is being activated. Recently conducted many educational institutions, as well 'Bizcool' entrepreneurship education. Performance will be clear that the purpose of education and, where appropriate, external training. Currently operating business through 'Bizcool' homepage, 'Bizcool' budget is concentrated in high school. Entrepreneurship education are made aware of the need to equip the correct career awareness is spreading. Preliminary founder, as well as for students. Students will be more structured training support. And many more will be supported by the budget. Therefore, the present study is to analyze the impact of entrepreneurship education career awareness satisfaction. And try to give elementary school students, middle school students, high school students due to the difference in effective entrepreneurship education and ways to activate. The first result, entrepreneurship education training information satisfaction has a significant impact on the career awareness. Satisfaction of the second result, entrepreneurship education teaching methods have a significant impact on the career awareness. The third result, operating the way entrepreneurship education has a significant impact on the recognition of the career satisfaction. The difference between the fourth result, depending on the satisfaction of the entrepreneurship education, career awareness, depending on the level of education does not represent. This study, the results of entrepreneurship education has a positive impact on the career recognition. And have a positive 'Bizcool' education could help implication. The purpose of this study was a survey of students who participated in the 2012 'Bizcool Camp'. This study derives meaningful results. But will need to be interpreted with caution. Some students are first surveyed who participated in the 2012 'Bizcool Camp'. Therefore, there is a limit to generalize the findings. Second, junior high school students surveyed rate is low. So there are limits to students representing the difference. Third, most survey respondents per participant. Therefore, the study subjects, as there is a limit. This study, the impact of career awareness, youth entrepreneurship education satisfaction were analyzed by student differences. The results of this study, more study will be needed for students.
