Design and Implementation of Web Ontology Inference System Using Axiomatisation (어휘의 공리화를 이용한 Web Ontology 추론 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • 최근 차세대 Web 기술로서 Semantic Web이 주목 받고 있다. Semantic Web에서는 Web상에 존재하는 문서에 Web Resource들에 대한 Ontology를 기반으로 Semantic Annotation을 하고 Ontology 추론 Agent를 통하여 의미 기반으로 Web을 검색할 수 있도록 해준다. 이와 같은 Semantic Web 기술의 핵심 요소는 Web Ontology이며 W3C에서는 이를 표현 할 수 있는 표준 언어로서 RDF기반의 OWL(Web Ontology Language) 명세를 제정하고 있다. 따라서 표준 Web Ontology 언어인 OWL을 위한 추론 시스템은 Semantic Web 검색 Agent의 구현을 위한 필수적인 기반 기술이라 할 수 있으나 아직 그 개발이 미비한 상태이다. OWL 추론 시스템을 구현하기 위해서는 OWL의 이론적인 기반을 제공하는 DL(Description Logic)을 추론할 수 있는 엔진을 사용하는 것이 한가지 방법이 될 수 있으나 OWL이 Rule과 같은 DL의 범주를 벗어나는 Vocabulary를 지원하는 언어로 확장되는 경우에 이를 처리하기가 어렵다. 또 다른 방법으로서 Logic Programming을 통하여 OWL 언어의 Semantic을 기술하고 정리 증명(Theorem Proving)을 통하여 Ontology를 추론하는 공리화(Axiomatisation) 기법이 있는데 이러한 방법의 장점은 기반이 되는 Logic의 범주 내에서 새로운 언어를 위한 Vocabulary의 확장이 용이하다는 점이다. 본 논문에서는 Axiomatisation 방법을 이용하여 OWL로 기술된 Ontology를 추론할 수 있는 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대해 설명하기로 한다.

  • The development of broadband multimedia content, a deaf sign language sign language is being used in education. Most of the content used in sign language training for Hangul word representation of sign language is sign language videos for the show. For the first time to learn sign language, sign language users are unfamiliar with the sign language characteristics difficult to understand, difficult to express the sign is displayed. In this paper, online, learning sign language to express the sign with reference to the attributes, Semantic Logic applying the sign language of multimedia content model for video-based platform is designed to study.

Semantic Document-Retrieval Based on Markov Logic (마코프 논리 기반의 시맨틱 문서 검색)

  • A simple approach to semantic document-retrieval is to measure document similarity based on the bag-of-words representation, e.g., cosine similarity between two document vectors. However, such a syntactic method hardly considers the semantic similarity between documents, often producing semantically-unsound search results. We circumvent such a problem by combining supervised machine learning techniques with ontology information based on Markov logic. Specifically, Markov logic networks are learned from similarity-tagged documents with an ontology representing the diverse relationship among words. The learned Markov logic networks, the ontology, and the training documents are applied to the semantic document-retrieval task by inferring similarities between a query document and the training documents. Through experimental evaluation on real world question-answering data, the proposed method has been shown to outperform the simple cosine similarity-based approach in terms of retrieval accuracy.

  • In collaborative environment, it is necessary that the participants in collaboration should share the same understanding about the semantics of terms. For example, they should know that 'Part' and 'Item' are different word-expressions for the same meaning. In this paper, we consider sharing between CAD and PDM data. In order to handle such problems in information sharing, an information system needs to automatically recognize that the terms have the same semantics. Serving this purpose, the semantic mapping logic and the ontology based mapper system is described in this paper. In the semantic mapping logic topic, we introduce our logic that consists of four modules: Character Matching, Instance Reasoning, definition comparing and Similarity Checking. In the ontology based mapper, we introduce the system architecture and the mapping procedure.

  • This paper introduces an approach to semantic mapping using Product ontology for CPC environment. In CPC environment, it is necessary that the participants in a product life cycle should share the same understanding about the semantic of product terms. For example, they should know that although 'COMPONENT' and 'ITEM' are different word-expressions, they could have the same meaning. In order to handle such terms in the information system, it is desirable that the system automatically recognizes that the terms have the same semantics. Serving this purpose, we described an ontology design methodology using first order logic, knowledge interchange format, and knowledge engineering process. In our approach, we investigated domain knowledge of the Bill Of Material, and then designed Product ontology of it. Based on the ontology, we described syntactic translation, semantic translation, and semantic mapping procedure with an example.

  • Actually a diffusion of a Semantic Web application and utilization are situations insufficient extremely. Technology most important in Semantic Web application is construction of the Ontology which contents itself with characteristics of Semantic Web. Proposed a suitable a Method of Building Web Ontology for characteristics of Semantic Web and Web Ontology as we compared the existing Ontology construction and Ontology construction techniques proposed for Web Ontology construction, and we analyzed. And modeling did Ontology to bases to Description Logic and the any axiom rule that used an expression way of SWRL, and established Inference-based Web Ontology according to proposed ways. Verified performance of Ontology established through Ontology inference experiment. Also, established an Web Ontology-based Intelligence Image Retrieval System, to experiment systems for performance evaluation of established Web Ontology, and present an example of implementation of a Semantic Web application and utilization. Demonstrated excellence of a Semantic Web application to be based on Ontology through inference experiment of an experiment system.

A Semantic Network Approach to PPO (Products, Processes, Organizations/Resources) Modeling for PDM Systems

  • The modeling method to support product development processes (PDP) must have certain characteristics including the ability to represent multiple viewpoints of the product development and integrate with currently available analysis and design methods based on CE concept. This paper describes the reference model to support multiple viewpoints (PPO: Products, Processes, and Organizations/Resources viewpoints) of the product development processes, from which each model (Products model, Processes model, and Organizations/Resources model) can be extracted, as well as produces PPO data schema. This reference model has associative relationships among the products, processes, and organizations/resources. To allow the extensibility to support design evolution, we propose structured dat representation methods using semantic network, which can be constructed through first-order logic. The product development processes is so represented by specifying entities and semantic relationships among them hat he appropriate information can be accessed and all of the relevant attributes about the entities can be retrieved simultaneously.

Training-Free Fuzzy Logic Based Human Activity Recognition

  • The accuracy of training-based activity recognition depends on the training procedure and the extent to which the training dataset comprehensively represents the activity and its varieties. Additionally, training incurs substantial cost and effort in the process of collecting training data. To address these limitations, we have developed a training-free activity recognition approach based on a fuzzy logic algorithm that utilizes a generic activity model and an associated activity semantic knowledge. The approach is validated through experimentation with real activity datasets. Results show that the fuzzy logic based algorithms exhibit comparable or better accuracy than other training-based approaches.

  • This is a speculative paper, describing a recently started effort to give a formal semantics to semantic annotation schemes. Semantic annotations are intended to capture certain semantic information in a text, which means that it only makes sense to use semantic annotations if these have a well-defined semantics. In practice, however, semantic annotation schemes are used that lack any formal semantics. In this paper we outline how existing approaches to the annotation of temporal information, semantic roles, and reference relations can be integrated in a single XML-based format and can be given a formal semantics by translating them into second-order logic. This is argued to offer an incremental aproach to the incorporation of semantic information in natural language processing that does not suffer from the problems of ambiguity and lack of robustness that are common to traditional approaches to computational semantics.
