  • The participants in collaborative environment want to get the right documents which are intended to find. In general search system, it searches documents which contain only the keywords. For searching different word-expressions for the same meaning, we perform mapping before searching. Our mapping logic consists of three steps. First, the character matching is the mapping of two terminologies that have identical character strings. Second, the definition comparing is the method that compares two terminologies' definitions. Third, the similarity checking pairs terminologies which were not mapped by two prior steps. In this paper, we propose Engineering Information Search System based on ontology mapping.

  • Recently, Open APIs are getting attention with the advent of Web 2.0. Open APIs are used to combine services and generate new services by Mashup. However, the growing number of available Open APIs raises a challenging issue how to locate the desired APIs. We automatically build ontologies from WSDL, WADL, HTML, and their underlying semantics. The key ingredient of our method is a technique that clusters input/output parameters in the collection of API methods into semantically meaningful concepts, and captures the hierarchical relationships between the terms contained in a parameter. These semantic ontologies allow search engines to support a similarity search for Open APIs based on various protocols such as SOAP, REST, JavaScript, and XML-RPC, and significantly improve the quality of APIs matching by the clustering and hierarchical relationships mechanism.

  • In this paper, we propose an intelligent e-commerce meta-search engine which integrates distributed e-commerce sites and provides a unified search to the sites. The meta-search engine performs the following functions: (1) the user is able to create a category-based user query, (2) by using the WordNet, the query is semantically refined for increasing search accuracy, and (3) the meta-search engine recommends an e-commerce site which has the closest product information to the user’s search intention by matching the user query with the product catalogs in the e-commerce sites linked to the meta-search engine. An experiment shows that the performance of our model is better than that of general keyword-based search.

  • Shutdown of boiler plants is a dynamic, complicated, and hazardous operation. Operational error is a major contributor to danserous situations during boiler plant shutdowns. It is important to develop an automatic system which synthesizes operating procedures to safely go from normal operation to complete shutdown. Knowledge representation for automatic shutdown of boiler plants makes use of the hierarchical, rule-based framework for heuristic knowledge, the semantic network, frame for process topology, and AI techniques such as rule matching, forward chaining, backward chaining, and searching. This knowledge representation and modeling account for the operational states, primitive operation devices, effects of their application, and planning methodology. Also, this is designed to automatically formulate subgoals, search for positive operation devices, formulate constraints, and synthesize shutdown procedures in boiler plants.

  • In this study we investigated the cognitive neuropsychological characteristics and the underlying mechanism in a letter-by-letter reading dyslexic patient after cerebral infarct of left posterior cerebral artery using fMRl, The results of cognitive neuropsychological assesment are visual perception was appropriate, and semantic categorization, picture naming and picture-word matching tasks were above83% correct, respectively. However, she was very poor in lexical decision task. The selective reading impairment is thought to result from the disruption of the left occipitotemporal region included fusiform gyrus. In fMRl results, the activation level increase din the right occipitotemporal region included fusiform gyrus compared with normal group in compensation for left impairment and more increased in pseudo word reading task than word reading on account of familiarity.

  • Evaluation of multilingual translation fundamentally involves measurement of meaning equivalences between the formally mapped discourses/texts of SL(source language) and TL(target language) both represented by a metalanguage called IL(interlingua). Unlike a usaal uni-directional MT(machine translation) model(e.g.:SL $\rightarrow$ analysis $\rightarrow$ transfer $\rightarrow$ generation $\rightarrow$ TL), a bi-directional(by 'negotiation') model(i.e.: SL $\rightarrow$ IL/S $\leftrightarrow$ IL $\leftrightarrow$ IL/T \leftarrow TL) is proposed here for the purpose of evaluating multilingual, not merely bilingual, translation. The IL, as conceived of in this study, is an English-based predicate logic represented in the framework of MRS(minimal recursion semantics), an MT-oriented off-shoot of HPSG(Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar). In addition, a list of semantic and pragmatic checkpoints are set up, some being optional depending on the kind and use of the translation, so sa to have the evaluation of translation fine-grained by computing matching or mismatching of such checkpoints.

  • In visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM), the correct recognition of a place benefits in relocalization and improved map accuracy. However, its performance is significantly affected by the environmental conditions such as variation in light, viewpoints, seasons, and presence of dynamic objects. This research addresses the problem of feature occlusion caused by interference of dynamic objects leading to the poor performance of visual place recognition algorithm. To overcome the aforementioned problem, this research analyzes the role of scene semantics in correct detection of a place in challenging environments and presents a semantics aided visual place recognition method. Semantics being invariant to viewpoint changes and dynamic environment can improve the overall performance of the place matching method. The proposed method is evaluated on the two benchmark datasets with dynamic environment and seasonal changes. Experimental results show the improved performance of the visual place recognition method for vSLAM.

  • Instance segmentation is a challenging research in the field of computer vision, which combines the prediction results of object detection and semantic segmentation to provide richer image feature information. Focusing on the instance segmentation in the street scene, the real-time instance segmentation method based on SOLOv2 is proposed in this paper. First, a cross-stage fusion backbone network based on position attention is designed to increase the model accuracy and reduce the computational effort. Then, the loss of shallow location information is decreased by integrating two-way feature pyramid networks. Meanwhile, cross-stage mask feature fusion is designed to resolve the small objects missed segmentation. Finally, the adaptive minimum loss matching method is proposed to decrease the loss of segmentation accuracy due to object occlusion in the image. Compared with other mainstream methods, our method meets the real-time segmentation requirements and achieves competitive performance in segmentation accuracy.

  • Mashups have become very popular over the last few years, and their use also varies for IT convergency services. In spite of their popularity, there are several challenging issues when combining Open APIs into mashups, First, since portal sites may have a large number of APIs available for mashups, manually searching and finding compatible APIs can be a tedious and time-consuming task. Second, none of the existing portal sites provides a way to leverage semantic techniques that have been developed to assist users in locating and integrating APIs like those seen in traditional SOAP-based web services. Third, although suitable APIs have been discovered, the integration of these APIs is required for in-depth programming knowledge. To solve these issues, we first show that existing techniques and algorithms used for finding and matching SOAP-based web services can be reused, with only minor changes. Next, we show how the characteristics of APIs can be syntactically defined and semantically described, and how to use the syntactic and semantic descriptions to aid the easy discovery and composition of Open APIs. Finally, we propose a goal-directed interactive approach for the dynamic composition of APIs, where the final mashup is gradually generated by a forward chaining of APIs. At each step, a new API is added to the composition.
