Scaling Factor Tuning Method for Fuzzy Control System (퍼지제어 시스템을 위한 이득동조 방법)

  • This paper deals with a self-tuning fuzzy controller. The fuzzy controller is constructed with linguistic rules which consist of the fuzzy sets. Each fuzzy set is characterized by a membership function. The tuning fuzzy controller has paramenters that are input/output scaling factors to effect control output. In this paper we propose a tuning method for the scaling factor Computer simulations carried out on first-order and second-order processes will show how the present tuning approach improves the transient and the steady-state characteristics of the overall system.The applicability of the proposed algorithm is certified by computer simulation results.

  • In the single-input and single-output system, the parameter of plant is scalar polynomial, but in the multiple input and multiple output, it accompanies, being matrix polynomial, the consideration of observable conrolability index or problems of non-commutation in matrix polynomial as well as degree, and it is more complex to deal with. Therefore, it is thought that a full reserach on the single-input and single-output system is not made. This reserach propose that problems of minimum variance self-tuning regulator of multivariable system and pole placement self-tuning regulator.

  • In this paper, a self-tuning fuzzy logig controller is implemented to control a DC servo motor by the self-tuning technique based on fuzzy meta-rules with learning in several algorithms to improve the performance of the fuzzy logic controller used in a fuzzy control system. Simulations and experimental results of the self-tuning fuzzy logic controller are compared with those of the fuzzy logic controller to evaluate its performance.

  • A proposed hybrid self-tuning control scheme for single rod hydraulic cylinder which has varying loads is presented here. An adaptive controller is developed for the system that use feedforward and P feedback control for simultaneous parameter identification and tracking control. Through experimental results, the performance comparison of the hybrid self-tuning controller with a constant gain P contro- ller clearly shows its superior ability in handling load changes in quiescent states.

  • In this thesis, a self-tuning control method based on Variable Structure System technique for tracking control of Direct-Drive motor is presented. The self-tuning control could not make the tracking error zero in the transient period. This tracking error may be due to disturbances or the error in parameter identification. To overcome this problem, a self-tuning control method based on discrete time VSS technique is presented. The STC based on VSS technique gives good tracking performance of the reference signal in the transient period. The proposed controller is robust to parameter errors and disturbances. The performance of the proposed controller is compared with that of simple STC through digital computer simulation.

  • A self-tuning control scheme, incorporated with the simplified 1st-order ARMAX(Auto-Regressive Moving Average eXogenous) model, for single rod hydraulic cylinder which has varying dynamic characteristics is presented here. An adaptive controller is developed for the system that uses feedforward and optimal feedback control for simultaneous parameter identification and tracking control. Through experimental results, the performance comparison of the self-tuning controller with a fixed gain proportional controller clearly shows its superior ability in handling load changes in quiescent states.

  • The self-tuning control theory which has so far been studied has the type of a moving average noise mode. In this paper we propose a self-tuning munimum varinace control of the plant with an autoregressive noise model. New identities are introduced to find a munimum variance control input, and the stability and convergence properties in a closed loop system are studied using the BIBO concepts and ODE method. Also the proposed algorithm is compared withe that of the original self-tuning control by computer simulation.

  • This paper presents a new approach to the design of self-tuning adaptive control system that is robust to the changing dynamic configuration as well as to the load variation factors using Digital signal processors for robot manipulators. TMS32OC50 is used in implementing real-time adaptive control algorithms to provide advanced performance for robot manipulator. In this paper, an adaptive control scheme is proposed in order to design the pole-placement self-tuning controller which can reject the offset due to any load disturbance without a detailed description of robot dynamics. Parameters of discrete-time difference model are estimated by the recursive least-square identification algorithm, and controller parameters are determined by the pole-placement method. Performance of self-tuning adaptive controller is illustrated by the simulation and experiment for a SCARA robot.

  • In this paper, recurrent artificial neural network (RNN) based self tuning speed controller is proposed for the high performance drives of induction motor. RNN provides a nonlinear modeling of motor drive system and could give the information of the load variation, system noise and parameter variation of induction motor to the controller through the on-line estimated weights of corresponding RNN. Thus, proposed self tuning controller can change gains of the controller according to system conditions. The gain is composed with the weights of RNN. For the on-line estimation of the weights of RNN, extended kalman filter (EKF) algorithm is used. Self tuning controller that is adequate for the speed control of induction motor is designed. The availability of the proposed controller is verified through the MATLAB simulation with the comparison of conventional PI controller.

  • In general, a remotely operated vehicle(ROV) operates at deep sea. The control system of ROV is composed of two local loops; the first loop placed on the surface vessel monitors and manipulates the attitude of the ROV using joystick, and the second part on the ROV automatically controls thrusters and acquires positional data. This paper presents a position control simulation of a ROV using an adaptive controller and discusses the control effects of two different conditions. The design of an adaptive control system is obtained by the application of a self-tuning controller with the minimization of an appropriate cost function. The parameters of the control system are estimated by a recursive least square method(RLS). In the simulation, a Runge-Kutta method is used for the numerical integration and the generated outputs are obtained by adding measurement errors. Additionally, this paper discusses the mathematical modelling of a ROV and make a survey of control systems.
