This study examines the dietary, exercise, and other daily habits of Daegu residents and how these relate to the residents' perception of their own health status, and comparatively analyzes the lifestyles and daily habits of those who perceive themselves to be healthy and those who do not. This research study used Inbody 230(Body composition analysis, Biospace, Korea) to make body and health measurements such as body composition and obesity index. Also, included in this study was a survey on the lifestyle patterns of the residents. The data from this survey was analyzed with SPSS. The results show that among the residents of Daegu, those who perceive themselves to be healthy have lower body fat and are less obese on average. With respect to dietary habits, those who believe themselves to be healthy have more regular dietary habits such as rarely skipping a meal than those who do not believe themselves to be healthy. In addition those who say they are healthy exercise more frequently and for a longer duration than those who say they are not healthy. As for daily habits, those who report they are healthy show greater satisfaction with life and suffer less from stress than those who report themselves to be unhealthy. This study demonstrates that in order to improve people's health in Korea, good dietary, exercise and daily habits need to be emphasized. Additionally, health education and health awareness programs need to be established in each region. Follow-up studies should be conducted afterwards.

Objectives: To investigate the association of problematic Internet use with oral health behaviors and oral health status in a nationally representative sample of Korean adolescents. Methods: Data from the 2010 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (73238 Korean adolescents; mean age $15.06{\pm}1.75years$; age range, 12-18 years) were used. Problematic Internet use was measured using the Korean Internet Addiction Proneness Scale for Youth-Short Form. Self-report questionnaires were used to assess oral health behaviors and oral health status of adolescents. Results: Problematic Internet users were less likely to brush their teeth frequently [adjusted odds ratio (AOR)=0.59; 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.56-0.63] and at school after lunch (AOR=0.89; 95% CI=0.83-0.94) as well as more likely to perceive their oral health to be poorer (AOR=1.63, 95% CI=1.54-1.72) and experience oral symptoms (AOR=1.75, 95% CI=1.65-1.86) compared to usual Internet users. Conclusion: The study results indicate that problematic Internet use may adversely affect the oral health of Korean adolescents. Thus, oral health screening and Internet-based education are needed for adolescents experiencing problematic Internet use.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends, using the keyword home health care, in articles published in the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Home Health Care Nursing over the past 10 years. Methods: An analysis was conducted of 50 home health care-based studies chosen from among the 206 studies published in the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Home Health Care Nursing from 2010 to 2019. The analysis focused on research methodology and keyword. Descriptive statistics were used to examine the frequency distribution of research methods and keywords. Results: Study participation was mainly focused on nurses (52.0%). Most of the studies used quantitative methods (96.0%), and 43 studies (86.0%) used self-report structured questionnaires. The most commonly used data analyses methods were descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, correlation, and regression. Major keywords were home health nursing, elderly care facility, visiting nurse, home care service, home healthcare nurse, home care agencies, long-term care, and home care. Conclusion: The results of this study identified current trends and interests in the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Home Health Care Nursing. This study suggests that future studies include a variety of research methods and maintain appropriate standards of research ethics.
In this paper, a study was conducted to find a self-diagnosis method to prevent the spread of COVID-19 based on machine learning. COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. According to WHO(World Health Organization)'s situation report published on May 18th, 2020, COVID-19 has already affected 4,600,000 cases and 310,000 deaths globally and still increasing. The most severe problem of COVID-19 virus is that it spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, which occurs in everyday life. And also, at this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. Because of the secure diffusion method and the absence of a vaccine, it is essential to self-diagnose or do a self-diagnosis questionnaire whenever possible. But self-diagnosing has too many questions, and ambiguous standards also take time. Therefore, in this study, using SVM(Support Vector Machine), Decision Tree and correlation analysis found two vital factors to predict the infection of the COVID-19 virus with an accuracy of 80%. Applying the result proposed in this paper, people can self-diagnose quickly to prevent COVID-19 and further prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate factors that influence university women with eating problems. Methods: Study participants were 307 women from two universities. Self-report questionnaires which included items on eating problems, satisfaction with body shape, self-esteem, body mass index, and weight control methods were used. Data were analyzed using independent t-tests, ${\chi}^2$ tests, and a multiple binary logistic regression. Results: About 20% of the undergraduate women were experiencing eating problems. The problematic eating group showed more dissatisfaction with body shape than the normal eating group, and used more diets, fasting, diet-products, and uretics/laxatives to control body weight. Significant predictors for the problematic eating group were diets, diet-products, BMI, self-esteem and dissatisfaction with body shape. The strongest predictors were diets; risk for women university students who had been on a diet was 15 times higher than their counterparts. Conclusion: It is pertinent for health professionals to start intervention programs to educate university women with eating problems. The contents should include information on healthy weight control methods, improving satisfaction with body shape and self esteem, as well as creating social atmosphere about healthy body shape for women.
Objectives : This study was conducted to validate self-reported smoking among high school students using urinary cotinine. Methods : A self report of smoking behavior was collected together with urine sample for cotinine analysis from 130 male and female students in two vocational high school students in November, 2007. Validity and agreement between self-reported smoking and urinary cotinine was analyzed with STATA 9.0 for different definitions of current smokers, and frequent and daily smokers. Urinary cotinine concentration was measured by the DRI Cotinine Assay for urine (Microgenics Corp., Fremont, CA) on Toshiba 200FR. The cut-off point of urinary cotinine was 50 ng/dl. Results : The concentrations of urinary cotinine were significantly different according to the frequency and amount of smoking. Sensitivity and specificity was 90.9% and 91.8% respectively, and the Cohen s kappa value was 0.787 among the current smokers who smoked at least one day during one month preceding the survey. The comparable high sensitivity, specificity, and kappa value were shown also among the other definitions of current smokers, that is, subjective smokers, and weekly smokers. Conclusions : The results showed the high validity of self-reported smoking among high school students. However, due to the small sample size and limitation of the participants, it is cautious to generalize the results to overall high school students.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of mechanical ventilation simulation on the clinical judgment and self-confidence of nursing students. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study. From one university, 118 undergraduate nursing students participated in this study. Sixty students were in the intervention group, and fifty-eight students were in the control group. A simulation scenario utilizing a high-fidelity human simulator focusing on nursing care for patients with a mechanical ventilator was developed for this study. Data were collected with a self-report survey method before the intervention, right after intervention, and two weeks later. Results: Students in the intervention group showed significantly higher increases in clinical judgment and self-confidence than those in the control group at the immediate posttest. Moreover, 2 weeks later, the increase in clinical judgment and self-confidence from the pretest among the intervention group was significantly larger than those in the control group. Conclusion: Utilizing simulation education focusing on patients with a mechanical ventilator may contribute to training more competent nurses in the area of critical care nursing. It may also serve to provide a better critical care environment for the safety and health of patients.
Purpose: This study was done to identify content of prenatal education and to examine differences in prenatal education, knowledge, and attitude of nulliparous South Korean women. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was used with 134 conveniently recruited nulliparous women. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires. Results: Average number of institutional prenatal education programs was 5.96 at clinics, 4.31 at health care centers, and 0.49 at hospitals. Women participated in an average 5.78 out of the 35 prenatal education contents: 15 types of prenatal and delivery, 10 postpartum self-care, and 10 parenting. Score for knowledge was 7.57out of 10. Women who participated in prenatal education (n=72) reported significantly higher scores in knowledge (t=2.71, p=.008) than women who did not participate (n=62). The average score for attitude was 7.22 out of 10. Nulliparous women over 36 weeks of gestational age had significantly higher scores for attitude (t=2.38, p=.019) than women under 36 weeks. There were significant positive correlations between newborn care knowledge and postpartum care self-efficacy (r=.26, p=.026), and newborn care knowledge and parenting confidence (r=.25, p=.034). Conclusion: Results indicate that policy is needed to increase participation in prenatal education and to establish strategies for health care centers and hospitals to provide prenatal education.

Background: The objective of this study is to find temporal trends in the associations between cardiovascular disease and occupational risk factors in the context of the Canadian population. Methods: Population data were analyzed from the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) collected between 2001 and 2014 for trends over time between heart disease and various occupational risk factors: hours worked, physical exertion at work, and occupation type (management/arts/education, business/finance, sales/services, trades/transportations, and primary industry/processing). Results: We found no significant difference in the average number of hours worked/wk between individuals who report having heart disease in all years of data except in 2011 ($F_{1,96}=7.02$, p = 0.009) and 2012 ($F_{1,96}=8.86$, p = 0.004). We also found a significant difference in the degree of physical exertion at work in 2001 ($F_{1,79}=7.45$, p = 0.008). There were statistically significant results of occupation type on self-reported heart disease from 2003 to 2014. Conclusion: Canadian data from the CCHS do not exhibit a trend toward an association between heart disease and the number of hours worked/wk. There is an association between heart disease and physical exertion at work, but the trend is inconsistent. The data indicate a trend toward an association between heart disease and occupation type, but further analysis is required to determine which occupation type may be associated with heart disease.
