Under constant and cyclic axial compression, square composite short columns reinforced with Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) added with scrap rubber infilled inside steel tubes and with different types of concrete were cast and tested. The test is carried out to find the effectiveness of utilizing an aggregate manufactured from industrial waste and to address the problems associated with the need for alternative reinforcements along with waste management. The main testing parameters are the type of concrete, the effect of fiber inclusion, and the significance of rubber-infilled steel tubes. The failure modes of the columns and axial load-displacement curves of the steel tube-reinforced columns were all thoroughly investigated. According to the test results, all specimens failed due to compression failure with a longitudinal crack along the loading axis. The fiber-reinforced column specimens demonstrated improved ductility and energy absorption. In comparison to the normal-weight concrete columns, the lightweight concrete columns significantly improved the axial load-carrying capacity. The addition of basalt fiber to the columns significantly increased the yield stress and ultimate stress to 9.21%. The corresponding displacement at yield load and ultimate load was reduced to 10.36% and 28.79%, respectively. The precision of volumetric information regarding the obtained crack quantification, aggregates, and the fiber in concrete is studied in detail through image processing using MATLAB environment.
Social networking sites (SNSs) have become an essential part of people's lives. It is thus crucial to understand how individuals use these platforms. Previous literature has divided usage into numerous activities and then grouped them into dimensions to avoid excessive granularity. However, these categories have not been derived from a uniform theoretical background; consequently, these dimensions are dispersed, overlapping, and disconnected from each other. This study argues that "SNS usage" is a complex phenomenon consisting of multiple activities that can be grouped into dimensions under the umbrella of communication theories and these dimensions are related to each other in a particular multi-dimensional architecture. "SNS usage" is conceptualized as a third-order construct formed by "producing," "consuming," and "communicating." "Producing," in turn, is proposed as a second-order construct manifested by "commenting," "general information sharing," and "self-disclosure." The proposed model was assessed with data collected from 414 USA adult users and PLS-SEM technique. The results show empirical support for the theorized model. SNS providers now have this architecture that clarifies the role of each dimension of use, which will allow them to design effective strategies to encourage the use of these networks.
Various researches on the application of polymer dispersions to the cement mortar and concrete have been practised in many countries like America, Japan and Germany and so on because of high performance and good modification effect of these. In this study, SBR, Polymer dispersion that widely used in situ is employed that the self-flowability may be induced in the cemen mortar. In order to comprehend and investigate the modification of cement mortar with self-flowability by SBR and properties and fracture mode of adhesive strength in tension of that, experimental parameter was set as SBR solid-Cement ratio(S/C) and Cement:Fine aggregate(C:F) and the experiments such as Unit weight, Flow, Consistency change, Crack resistance and Segregation that inform on the general properties have been done. In addition of that, Adhesion in tension is measured with a view to comprehending the properties and fracture mode in tensile load. Consistency change of cement mortar modified by SBR did grow better as the ratio of SBR solid-Cement increased and was much superior to that of resin based flooring such as polyurethane and epoxy which recorded the loss of consistency in 90min. after mixing. Adhesive strength in tension increased with continuity in the curing age and showed the maximum in case of C:F=1:1 and S/C=20%. As the increase of curing age, the fracture mainly happened in the concrete substrate and the interface between the specimen and concrete substrate.

In recent years, to reduce self-weight of structural elements, the use of SCP (Steel Concrete Plate) instead of prestressed concrete is increasing. Because SCP has a complicated sectional shape and includes a large number of studs, the use of high-fluidity concrete is required. Therefore, in this study, to prevent the restrained shrinkage behavior by the stud, the effects of using an expansive agent (EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA) were investigated, and the optimal mixture proportions to maximize the filling capacity were determined based on the fine aggregate ratio. The test results indicated that the combined use of EA and SRA exhibited the smallest shrinkage. The ratio of the crushed sand and washed sea sand was determined to be 5:5, and the proper fine aggregate ratio was found to be 55.6%, because when the ratio was too high, a decrease in strength and an increase in shrinkage strain were expected. The high-fluidity concrete effectively filled the large-sized SCP module.
Concrete is the most commonly used structural materials, but in concrete construction, its self-weight represents a very large proportion of the total load on the structure, and there are clearly considerable advantages in reducing the density of concrete. This study was carried out to investigate the stress-strain properties of no-fines synthetic lightweight concrete with synthetic lightweight coarse aggregates. The used synthetic lightweight coarse aggregate were two types, one was expanded clay with grading 3~8mm, the other is pumice stone with grading 4.75~10mm. The results of this study were summarized as follows ; The static modulus of elasticity of the synthetic lightweight concrete was $1.8{\times}10^5kg/cm^2$ at type CE using the expanded clay and $1.6{\times}10^5kg/cm^2$ at type CL using the pumice stone. The dynamic modulus of elasticity was $1.9{\times}10^5kg/cm^2$(CE) and $2.0{\times}10^5kg/cm^2$(CL). The dynamic modulus of elasticity was 10~30% larger than that of the static modulus of elasticity. The load-time curves of synthetic lightweight concrete were shown approximately similar to each other type except for added foaming agent. The stress-strain curves in uniaxial compressive of synthetic lightweight concrete were similar to each other.

self-loading, various problems related to construction can be solved as well as the save of construction cost. Thus, this study has an aim of applying foam concrete to structural purpose by adding bottom ash as a reinforcing material like fine aggregate, in contrast to conventional non-structural usage such as soundproofing or insulating materials. In addition, it was evaluated in terms of unit volume weight, flow value, air void, water absorption and dosage of foam agent wether replacement of cement by granulated blast furnace slag or fly-ash has an effect on the material characteristics of foam concrete. As results of experiments, it can be found that the increase of fine aggregate ratio, that is to say, the increase of bottom ash results in the increase of unit volume weight, while decreasing air void and flow value. But, appropriate addition of bottom ash to foam concrete makes it easy to control a homogeneous and uniform quality in foam concrete due to less sensitive to bubbles. As the replacement ratio of mineral admixtures such as granulated blast furnace slag and fly-ash increases, as unit volume weight tends to decrease. In the meanwhile, serious effects were shown on fluidity of foam concrete when more than limit of replacement ratio was applied.

For the first step on the quantitative evaluation of shrinkage reduction and differential shrinkage analysis of lightweight aggregate concrete, this study sets the moisture transport model of concrete by pre-absorbed water of porous lightweight aggregates and measured effective moisture diffusion coefficient, moisture capacity, degree of humidity supply and degree of humidity consumption by water binder ratio and aggregate type. The effective moisture diffusion coefficient in steady state caused by humidity difference between inside and outside of concrete had low value as low water-binder ratio. And in case of same water-binder ratio, effective moisture diffusion of mixtures used normal aggregates were lower than those used lightweight aggregates. To determine moisture store capability of concrete - moisture capacity, moisture contents were measured in 9 humidity conditions. As a result moisture contents of mixtures used lightweight aggregates was higher than mixtures used normal aggregates in all humidity conditions. This study measured lightweight aggregates' degree of humidity supply that applicable to normal atmospheric environment (above RH 50%) and made it quantitatively. Also amount of moisture release was set as a exponential function that represents a clear trend proportion to time and inverse proportion to humidity of the surroundings. As the result of measurement about degree of moisture consumption inside concrete following the internal consumption caused by cement hydration self-drying, it was showed that rapid decrease of humidity, around 10%, at early ages (7~10 days) when water-binder ratio is 0.3 and slow decrease around 5% and 1% when water-binder ratio is 0.4 and 0.5.
Diffusion is a powerful tool to understand geological processes recorded in terrestrial rocks as well as extraterrestrial materials. Since the diffusive exchange of elements or isotopes may have occurred differently in the solar nebula (high temperature and rapid cooling) and on the parent bodies (fluid-assisted thermal metamorphism at relatively low temperature), it is particularly important to model elemental or isotopic diffusion profiles within the mineral grains to better understand the evolution of the early solar system. A numerical model with the finite difference method for the fast grain boundary diffusion was established for the exchange of elements or isotopes between constituent minerals in a closed system. The fast grain boundary diffusion numerical model was applied to 1) 26Mg variation in plagioclase of an amoeboid olivine aggregate (AOA) from a CH chondrite and 2) Fe-Mg interdiffusion between chondrules, AOA, and matrix minerals in a CO chondrite. Equilibrium isotopic fractionation and equilibrium partitioning were also included in the numerical model, based on the assumption that equilibrium can be reached at the interfaces of mineral crystals. The numerical model showed that diffusion profiles observed in chondrite samples likely resulted from the diffusive exchange of elements or isotopes between the constituent minerals. This study also showed that the closure temperature is determined not only by the mineral with the slowest diffusivity in the system, but also strongly depends on the constituent mineral abundances.

Calcined clay granules (pellet) have been used as a soil conditioner. The space among the pellets can secure drainage of water in soil and, simultaneously, can keep water for plants in the inner pore of that. However, the usage of the pellet has been restrained because fabrication of that requires a high energy and cost for heating over the temperate of $1000^{\circ}C$. Recently, SCS(Self-propagating Combustion and Sintering) method was developed and this method use the combustion energy of the preliminary mixed combustible. The SCS method is suitable to fabrication of small porous aggregate and requires a very low cost. This research applied the SCS method to coal refuses for fabrication of soil conditioner pellets. The coal refuses were pulverized under the size of $100{\mu}m$ and the pulverized powders were pelletized to the size of 4~6mm. The pellets were heated at the temperature of $1200^{\circ}C$ in the SCS furnace that was specially prepared for this research. Characteristics of the pellets were investigated and were compared with that of ordinary calcined clay pellet of kaolin; porosity, pore size distribution, bulk density, pH and etc.. Characteristics of the moisture retention in the pellets were measured by the centrifugal method: ASTM D425-88. The pellets of the coal refuses showed the higher values of the field capacity and the plant-available water than that of kaolin pellet. These results suggest the very low cost process that can utilize the coal refuses and can fabricate the lightweight porous soil conditioner of the very high plant-available water.
In this study, in order to utilize waste concrete powder(WCP) which is occurred in manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate as an admixture for self-compacting concrete(SCC), the properties of cement paste, mortar, and concrete that were mixed two types of WCP, 928 and 1,360 $cm^2/g$ of surface area, were analyzed. As a result of experiment, we have found that WCP was a porous material with angle. When WCP was utilized as an admixture for SCC, its flowability and viscosity increased in proportion to the increase of a replacement ratio, and that a replacement ratio of WCP was proper within 15%. The compressive strength at 28 days mixed respectively with WCP2, 15 and 30%, showed about 36 and 28 MPa, and it showed a similar trend with a function suggested in CEB-FIP for the relationship of compressive strength and elastic modulus. According to the results, it is judged that WCP2 can be utilized as an mineral admixture of normal strength SCC.
