Ni/Ni-aluminide//Ti/Ti-aluminide 구조경사형 층상재료의 균열 전파 거동 (Crack propagation behavior of in-situ structural gradient Ni/Ni-aluminide//Ti/Ti-aluminide laminate materials)

  • Ni/Ni-aluminide//Ti/Ti-aluminide 경사기능 층상 복합재료를 박막 hot press법을 이용하여 제작하였다. NiAl과 $TiAl_3$ 금속간화합물 층이 자전고온합성반응을 통해 비교적 두껍게 형성되었고, 얇고 연속적인 $Ni_3Al$과 TiAl 층이 고상 확산을 통해 형성되었다. 파괴저항은 하중 방향이 crack arrester인 경우가 금속 층이 균열의 성장을 방해하기 때문에 crack divider 방향인 경우보다 높다. $Ni_3Al$과 NiAl 금속간화합물 층은 각각 벽개파괴와 입계파괴 거동을 보였고, $TiAl_3$층의 파괴 형태는 입내벽개파괴이었다. Ni/Ni-aluminide 층에서 관찰되는 기공과 금속 층과 금속간화합물 층의 미결합 부위가 낮은 파괴저항의 원인으로 판단된다. Acoustic emission (AE) 원파형 해석을 통해 제작된 복합재료의 파괴특성을 고찰하였다.

부력의 영향을 최소화한 조건에서 대향류 확산화염의 화염 소화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Flame Extinction in Buoyancy-minimized Counterflow Diffusion Flame)

  • Experiments were conducted to clarify role of the outermost edge flame on low-strain-rate flame extinction in buoyancy-suppressed non-premixed methane flames diluted with He and $N_2$. The use of He curtain flow produced a microgravity level of $10^{-2}-10^{-3}g$ in $N_2$- and He-diluted non-premixed counterflow flame experiments. The critical He and $N_2$ mole fractions at extinction with a global strain rate were examined at various burner diameters (10, 20, and 25 mm). The results showed that the extinction curves differed appreciably with burner diameter. Before the turning point along the extinction curve, low-strain-rate flames were extinguished via shrinkage of the outermost edge flame with and without self-excitation. High-strain-rate flames were extinguished via a flame hole while the outermost edge flame was stationary. These characteristics could be identified by the behavior of the outermost edge flame. The results also showed that the outermost edge flame was not influenced by radiative heat loss but by convective heat addition and conductive heat losses to the ambient He curtain flow. The numerical results were discussed in detail. The self-excitation before the extinction of a low-strain-rate flame was well described by a dependency of the Strouhal number on global strain rate and normalized nozzle exit velocity.

파랑수역에서 비부력 원형 제트의 거동 (Behavior of Non-buoyant Round Jet under Waves)

  • 본 연구에서는 파랑이 존재하는 수역에서 수평방향으로 분사되는 비부력 원형 난류제트의 거동을 검토하기 위해 수리실험을 수행하였다. 난류제트의 유속은 PIV(particle image velocimetry)기법을 이용하여 측정하였으며, 측정된 순간유속장을 위상평균하여 평균유속장으로 계산하였다. 수리실험에서는 상대적으로 작은 파고의 규칙파가 사용되었으며, 파랑의 분산이 난류제트의 확산현상에 미치는 영향을 제트의 중심선유속과 횡단면유속의 변화를 통하여 관찰하였다. 또한 파랑의 위상변화에 따른 제트 거동을 파악하기 위하여 다른 세 위상순간에서 제트의 거동을 비교하였다. 제트의 중심선유속은 파고가 커짐에 따라 감소하였으며, 횡단면의 폭은 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 제트의 횡단면유속분포 특성인 자기상사성은 파고가 증가할수록 약해졌으나 축방향으로의 단면폭의 변화는 크지 않았다. 또한 파고에 대한 제트의 변화에 비해 파랑 위상에 대해서는 변화가 작음을 알 수 있었다.

주조 합금 Alloy 718에서 미세조직과 인장특성에 미치는 열처리의 영향 (Effect of Heat-treatment on Microstructure and Tensile Properties in Cast Alloy 718)

  • The effect of various types of heat-treatment on the mechanical properties of cast Alloy 718 has been investigated. Cast Alloy 718 bars were subjected to 'standard heat-treatment'_(SHT), 'HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) heat-treatment'_(HHT), and 'HIP-simulated heat-treatment'_(HS). In the absence of long time high temperature heat-treatment, a small amount of Laves phase remained in the 'SHT' specimen, and needle shaped ${\delta}$ precipitated in the vicinity of the Laves phase. Due to the formation of the Laves and ${\delta}$ phases in the 'SHT' specimen, it exhibited lower tensile properties than those of the others_specimens. On the other hand, the Laves phase was completely dissolved into the matrix after 'HHT' and 'HS' treatments. It is known that isostatic pressure reduces the self-diffusion coefficient, because of the lower self-diffusivity under HIP conditions in the interdendritic region, Nb segregation and the high amount of ${\gamma}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ precipitation that occurs. Due to the higher fraction of coarse ${\gamma}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ phases, the 'HHT' treated Alloy 718 showed excellent tensile strength.

금 나노입자를 회합시킨 수식된 흑연전극으로 NADH의 전기촉매 산화반응 (Electrocatalytic Oxidation of NADH at the Modified Graphite Electrode Incorporating Gold Nano Particles)

  • 금 나노 입자를 회합시킨 흑연전극 표면에 mercaptopropionic acid(mpa)를 사용하여 자기조립 단층막(self-assembled monolayer: SAMs)을 생성시키고 이어서 도파민(dopa)과의 짝지움 반응을 통하여 Gr(Au)/mpa-dopa형의 수식된 전극을 제작하여 NADH의 전기촉매 산화반응에 적용하였다. 이 수식 전극이 전자전달반응속도와 반응과정에 대하여 연구하였다. 전극 표면에 고정된 도파민이 NADH와 이차반응 속도상수는 회전 전극법으로 0.1 M 인산염 완충용액(pH=7.0)에서 결정하였으며 그 값이 $5.06{\times}10^5M^{-1}s^{-1}$였고, $EC_{cat}$ 및 전자전달이 지배적인 과정이었다. 그러나 반응초기 즉, $10^{-3}s$ 이내에서는 이 전극에서 확산에 영향을 받으며 그 때 확산계수는 $4.64{\times}10^{-4}cm^2s^{-1}$이다.

  • 최근 스마트폰, 태블릿 PC, SSD(Solid State Drive)의 보급률 증가로 메모리 반도체 산업시장의 규모는 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 또한 최근 SSD시장에 TLC NAND-형 플래시 메모리 제품의 출시로 인해 TLC NAND-형 플래시 메모리의 수요가 점차 증가할 것으로 예상된다. SLC NAND 플래시 메모리는 많은 연구가 진행되었지만 TLC NAND 플래시 메모리는 연구가 진행되지 않고 있다. 또한 NAND-형 플래시 메모리는 고가의 외부장비에 의존하여 테스트를 하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 기존에 제안된 SLC NAND 플래시 메모리와 MLC NAND 플래시 메모리 테스트 알고리즘을 TLC NAND 플래시 메모리에 맞게 알고리즘과 패턴을 수정하여 적용하고 고가의 외부 테스트 장비 없이 자체 테스트 수행이 가능한 구조를 제안한다.

기계적 합금화과정에서의 in situ 열분석에 의한 Ti-25.0~37.5at%Si 분말의 합성거동 (Synthesis Behavior of Ti-25.0~37.5at%Si Powders by In situ Thermal Analysis during Mechanical Alloying)

  • Mechanical alloying (MA) of Ti-25.0~37.5at%Si powders was carried out in a high-energy ball mill, and in situ thermal analysis was also made during MA. In order to classify the synthesis behavior of the powders with respect to at%Si, the synthesis behavior during MA was investigated by in situ thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction (XRD). In situ thermal analysis curves and XRD patterns of Ti-25.0~26.1at%Si powders showed that there were no peaks during MA, indicating $Ti_{5}$ $Si_3$ was synthesised by a slow reaction of solid state diffusion. Those of Ti-27.1~37.5at%Si powders, however, showed that there were exothermic peaks during MA, indicating $_Ti{5}$ $Si_3$ and$ Ti_3$Si phase formation by a rapid exothermic reaction of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). For Ti-27.1~37.5at%Si powders, the critical milling times for SHS decreased from 38.1 to 18.5 min and the temperature rise, ΔT (= peak temperature - onset temperature) increased form $19.5^{\circ}C$ to $26.7^{\circ}C$ as at%Si increased. The critical composition of Si for SHS reaction was found to be 27.1at% and the critical value of the negative heat of formation of Ti-27.1at%Si to be -1.32 kJ/g.

TEM Study on the Growth Characteristics of Self-Assembled InAs/GaAs Quantum Dots

  • Self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots (QDs) were grown by the atomic layer epitaxy (ALE) and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) techniques, The structure and the thermal stability of QDs have been studied by high resolution electron microscopy with in-situ heating experiment capability, The ALE and MBE QDs were found to form a hemispherical structure with side facets in the early stage of growth, Upon capping by GaAs layer, however, the apex of QDs changed to a flat one. The ALE QDs have larger size and more regular shape than those of MBE QDs. The QDs collapse due to elevated temperature was observed directly in atomic scale, In situ heating experiment within TEM revealed that the uncapped QDs remained stable up to $580^{\circ}C$, However, at temperature above $600^{\circ}C$, the QDs collapsed due to the diffusion and evaporation of In and As from the QDs, The density of the QDs decreased abruptly by this collapse and most of them disappeared at above $600^{\circ}C$.

Factors Influencing the Success of Mobile Payment in Developing Countries: A Comparative Analysis of Nigeria and Kenya Mobile Payment Users

  • Purpose - This empirical study, aims to identify the determinants of adoption and acceptance of mobile payment as to understand why it is successful in some countries in Sub-Saharan Africa but failing in others. A comparative study of a successful mobile payment service and a purported failed one was done as to have some insights to the factors affecting acceptance of the technology. Design/methodology/approach - The strength of three notable theories: theory of diffusion of innovation (DOI), the extended unified theory of user acceptance of information technology (UTAUT2) and self-efficacy theory were use. The self-efficacy of government support inclusion as, a moderating variable in the form of infrastructure, securing transaction and price value revealed the relevance of government in the success of mobile payment service. By means of a field survey of 705 subjects in two separate regions of Africa (East and West), the data was collected and use to test the research model. Findings - The study result shows the importance of the moderating factor of government support to the success of mobile payment of any nation. The result also shows the importance of the perception of relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, social influence as already revealed by other studies. Research implications or Originality - Mobile payment success in some part of Sub-Saharan Africa is well known but also suggested to fail in some Sub-Saharan African countries. Buttressing the need for understanding of the factors affecting mobile payment acceptance. This article empirically examined the factors influencing the success of mobile payment, and we implicated that if the implementation of mobile payment is to be successful for mobile commerce in any nation, adoption, acceptance and use by its citizen is imperative.

Influence of inorganic composition and filler particle morphology on the mechanical properties of self-adhesive resin cements

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the influence of inorganic composition and filler particle morphology on the mechanical properties of different self-adhesive resin cements (SARCs). Materials and Methods: Three SARCs including RelyX Unicem-2 (RUN), Maxcem Elite (MAX), and Calibra Universal (CAL) were tested. Rectangular bar-shaped specimens were prepared for flexural strength (FS) and flexural modulus (FM) and determined by a 3-point bending test. The Knoop microhardness (KHN) and top/bottom microhardness ratio (%KHN) were conducted on the top and bottom faces of disc-shaped samples. Sorption (Wsp) and solubility (Wsl) were evaluated after 24 hours of water immersion. Filler morphology was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). FS, FM, %KHN, Wsp, Wsl, and EDS results were submitted to 1-way analysis of variance and Tukey's post-hoc test, and KHN also to paired t-test (α = 0.05). Results: SARC-CAL presented the highest FS value, and SARC-RUN presented the highest FM. SARC-MAX and RUN showed the lowest Wsp and Wsl values. KHN values decreased from top to bottom and the SARCs did not differ statistically. Also, all resin cements presented carbon, aluminum, and silica in their composition. SARC-MAX and RUN showed irregular and splintered particles while CAL presented small and regular size particles. Conclusions: A higher mechanical strength can be achieved by a reduced spread in grit size and the filler morphology can influence the KHN, as well as photoinitiators in the composition. Wsp and Wsl can be correlated with ions diffusion of inorganic particles.
