  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to construct and test a structural model for the Post-traumatic Growth (PTG) of police officers. The conceptual model is based on Calhoun and Tedeschi's PTG theory. Methods: Data were collected from 269 police officers working at 10 police stations in Seoul from September 26 to October 9, 2017. The exogenous variable was traumatic experiences, and endogenous variables were pain perception, self disclosure, social support, deliberate rumination, and PTG. The collected data were analyzed in order to calculate the direct and indirect effects of factors affecting PTG using SPSS/WIN 23.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: The hypothetical model showed a good fit to the data: 𝑥2/df=2.57, GFI=.90, CFI=.95, TLI=.91, RMSEA=.07, SRMR=.07. The hypothetical model showed a similar result with the data, and out of 10 paths, 7 were statistically significant. The model explained 36% of the variance in the PTG of police officers. The model confirmed that social support and deliberate rumination had a direct effect, and that self-disclosure had an indirect effect on police officers' PTG. Conclusion: Nursing intervention programs to increase PTG of police officers should focus on deliberate rumination, social support, and self-disclosure. In addition, they should be accompanied by various crisis managements and consultations that can promote PTG.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of interaction privacy management behavior (Use of IPCs), which has received relatively little attention. To this end, this study proposes an integrated model that theorizes the relationship between the main variables of the privacy calculation model and interaction privacy management behavior. Empirical analysis of this model shows that the use of IPCs lowers risks, increases benefits, and in turn promotes increased self-disclosure. These results have implications for expanding the theoretical logic of the privacy calculation model because users' self-disclosure includes not only the limited exposure proposed in the model but also unrestricted exposure through the use of IPC.

However, it is not quite sure if the technology acceptance model could be completely adopted also in relationship-based system such as blog. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to identify the factors affecting the usage of blogs. To do so, content analysis methodology is applied to extract meaningful factors affecting the usage of blogs in the opinions of the bloggers in a Korean portal site : Naver. We investigates the causal relationship among three factors ; perceived usefulness, perceived encouragement, and actual use in blogging. Moreover, public self-consciousness, self disclosure and telepresence are also considered as the determinants. • This study seeks to clarify the mechanisms of anthropomorphism and positive user experience. This study adopts the "computers are social actors" (CASA) paradigm to verify the causal relationship between social response and anthropomorphism and correctly explicate this paradigm. The intimacy-forming and anthropomorphizing effects of deep self-disclosure in interpersonal relationships were replicated in relationships between humans and conversational agents to induce both social response and anthropomorphism. Then, the mediating effect of intimacy on the anthropomorphizing effect of deep self-disclosure was explored with psychological models that revealed the causal relationships between social connections, including intimacy and anthropomorphism. Furthermore, we explored how intimacy and anthropomorphism trigger positive user experiences. The results demonstrated that the deeper the self-disclosure depth was, the more intimate and humanly the agent was perceived and the more positive the user experience was. In addition, the effect of self-disclosure depth on anthropomorphism and positive user experience was completely mediated by intimacy. This means that when using a computer with interpersonal characteristics, people anthropomorphize it and have a positive experience because people react socially to objects with social cues. This study bridges the gap between the CASA paradigm and anthropomorphism research, suggesting the possibility of psychological explanations for the principle of human-computer interactions. In addition, it explicates the mechanism of anthropomorphism and positive user experience, emphasizing the importance of social response-that is, intimacy.

  • Over a decade ago, Krasnova et al. identified the factors that influence Facebook users' self-disclosure. These factors include perceived risks, relationship building, relationship maintenance, self-presentation, and enjoyment. Meanwhile, during the past 10 years, there have been significant changes in terms of function, media, and competition. SNSs have been functionally enhanced, used in mobile environment, and had many competitors. Based on these facts, it is believed that the influence of the factors on self-disclosure is different from those of Krasnova et al. The purpose of this study is to verify through a replication study whether the factors adopted in the study of Krasnova et al. are still important in explaining self-exposure. The study empirically find the result significantly different from those of Krasnova et al. Based on the result, the study provides meaningful implications and suggestions for future research.
