  • In this paper, an algorithm for PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) fault diagnosis system is proposed and experimentation is conducted with a PLC and a virtual plant. Wrong output backward tracking algorithm is proposed in order to find the external faults of PLC. And query with keywords of the fault systems and specially designed test sequence programs are used. We lay emphasis on the backward tracking algorithm to diagnose the faults of PLC. It is shown experimentally that the proposed algorithm can find the faults which a typical self diagnostics in the-commercially available PLC cannot.

  • Necrotizing sialometaplasia (NS) which mimics malignancy both clinically and histopathologically is an uncommon benign, self-limiting inflammatory disease of the mucus-secreting minor salivary glands. The lesion is believed to be the result of vascular ischemia that may be initiated by trauma. Till date, the diagnosis of NS remains a challenge. This report demonstrates a case of NS in a 73-year-old male patient who presented with an ulcerative lesion in his palate. He had a history of local trauma and was long-term user of salbutamol inhaler. An incisional biopsy was carried out and the diagnosis was established through history, clinical examination, histopathology using Hematoxylin and Eosin stain. The patient was given symptomatic treatment and the lesion healed in about 7 weeks.

  • Immune thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) is an autoimmune disease characterized by increased peripheral platelet destruction due to antibody to platelet, which results in thrombocytopenia and cutaneous or mucosal bleeding. Bleeding generally occurs when platelet counts fall to less than $20,000/{\mu}L$. Children affected with ITP are usually healthy prior to the onset of the disease and typically present suddenly after a viral infection or insidiously with progressive petechiae, bruising, or purpura. In most cases the disease is self-limited; approximately 80% of children recover by 6 months after diagnosis, with or without treatment. Children with thrombocytopenia persisting for more than 6 months are defined as having chronic ITP. Clinical manifestations, diagnosis, laboratory findings, differential diagnosis and various treatment modalities are reviewed.

  • In order to establish a relationship between sleep related breathing disorder (SBD) and temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), a literature review was performed. A researching was performed based on PubMed, including english languages. Any clinical study identified relationship between SBD and TMD were selected in this review. 13 studies were analyzed in this review. According to SBD diagnosis, articles were grouped as follows: polysomnographic diagnosis (n=7), clinical diagnosis (n=2) and survey/self-report (n=4). 12 articles established a positive relation between SBD and TMD and 1 did not. SBD would be associated with protrusion/retrusion degree, myofascial pain, muscular and joint pathology, and other orofacial findings. It was analyzed that the retrusion of the mandible had the significant influence on the severity of the SBD.

  • Identification of steady-state is the first step in developing a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) system. In a complete FDD system, the steady-state detector will be included as a module in a self-learning algorithm which enables the working system's reference model to "tune" itself to its particular installation. In this study, a steady-state detector of a residential air conditioner based on moving windows was designed. Seven representing measurements were selected as key features for steady-state detection. The optimized moving window size and the feature thresholds was suggested through startup transient test and no-fault steady-state test. Performance of the steady-state detector was verified during indoor load change test. From the research, the general methodology to design a moving window steady-state detector was provided for vapor compression applications.

  • Aims: The purpose of the present study was to investigate healthy lifestyle changes during the period before and after breast cancer diagnosis in Taiwan. Materials and Method: Lifestyle changes during the period before and after cancer diagnosis were assessed by convenience sampling with a structured questionnaire for breast cancer survivors. Results: A total of 235 breast cancer survivors completed the healthy lifestyle scale. The mean values before and after breast cancer diagnosis of the participants were 3.27 and 3.73. The final five dimensions for the period before breast cancer diagnosis were: had not experienced stress; had exercised; had maintained sleep quality; had maintained body weight; and had maintained relationships. The final five dimensions for the period after breast cancer diagnosis were: sleep quality; had not experienced stress; relationship; had exercised; and had maintained body weight. A paired-t test was applied to examine the differences before and after cancer diagnosis, revealing that the total average scores of the participants on the healthy lifestyle scale clearly differed statistically (t= -17.20, p<0.01); and the nine dimensions before and after testing also demonstrate a marked statistical difference (p<0.01). Conclusions: These findings are helpful in understanding the healthy lifestyle changes during the period before and after cancer diagnosis among breast cancer survivors. It is expected that these results can offer references of self-care for this group of patients.

  • Purpose: To evaluate aggravating factors of intermittent locking among temporomandibular joint using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular disorder (DC/TMD) diagnosis. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted of 35 patients with intermittent locking history but normal intra-articular findings between September 2012 and June 2015 in Kyung Hee University Dental Hospital. A standardized DC/TMD assessment was performed on subjects with MRI findings. Clinical findings were assessed on the basis of maximum mouth opening (active & passive), self-reported habits, patients' age, gender, systemic diseases at the initial visit. First, chi square test was used to examine differences with variables and then risk factors for intermittent locking were assessed using multivariate logistic regression. Results: Self-reported bruxism was strongly associated with intermittent locking history. Conclusions: The new DC/TMD protocol is intended for use within any clinical setting and supports the full range of diagnostic activities from screening to definitive evaluation and diagnosis. Self-reported sleep bruxism has been associated with a higher likelihood of intermittent locking. Comorbidity is therefore a factor that must be assessed. It is necessary to consider the amount of contact of the teeth and the duration.

  • This study aims to identify the student assessment competency of the three elementary science teachers and investigate strategic measures to improve them. The study progressed as a qualitative case study method. A self-awareness checklist and in-depth interviews were conducted to collect data. The data analysis was reviewed and agreed upon by two process-focused assessment-leading teachers and two elementary science education experts. Consequently, the level of self-awareness of student assessment competency of the three participants was relatively high. However, the scale average of the feedback area was the lowest on average. The student assessment competency of the participants showed different levels and characteristics. Additionally, some inconsistencies between perception and practice were found. Strategic support and education are needed to enhance elementary science teachers' student assessment competency, and the development of self-diagnosis tools should proceed.
