Analysis of Iran's Air Defense Network and Implications for the Development of South Korea's Air Defense Network

  • This study analyzes the current status and prospects of Iran's air defense network, focusing on the Russian-made S-300 system, and derives implications for the development of South Korea's air defense network. Iran's air defense network exhibits strengths such as long-range detection and interception capabilities, multi-target processing, high-altitude interception, and electronic warfare response. However, it also reveals weaknesses, including lack of mobility, difficulty in detecting low-altitude targets, obsolescence, training level of operating personnel, and vulnerability to electronic warfare. Real-world cases confirm these weaknesses, making the system susceptible to enemy evasion tactics, swarm drone attacks, and electronic warfare. Drawing from Iran's case, South Korea should establish a multi-layered defense system, strengthen low-altitude air defense and electronic warfare capabilities, foster the domestic defense industry for technological self-reliance, and enhance international cooperation. By addressing these aspects, South Korea can establish a robust air defense network and firmly protect its national security. Future research should aim to secure and analyze materials from the Iranian perspective for a more objective evaluation of Iran's air defense network and continuously track Iran's efforts to improve its air defense network and the trend of strengthening drone forces to predict changes in the Middle East security situation.

기체크로마토그래피에 의한 캡사이신, 디하이드로캡사이신 및 노니바마이드(PAVA)의 정량 (Determination of Capsaicin, Dihydrocapsaicin and Nonivamide by Gas Chromatography)

  • 호신용 스프레이의 자극성 액체에 포함된 capsaicin, dihydrocapsaicin 및 nonivamide의 함량을 기체 크로마토그래피로 정량하는 방법에 대해 연구하였다. Capsaicin과 거의 동등한 수준의 매운맛을 내는 nonivamide는 천연물 내에도 극히 소량 존재하므로 합성된 nonvamide를 합성 캡사이신(Synthetic capsaicinoid) 또는 PAVA(Pelargonic Acid Vanillyl Amide)라고 부르며 식품 향미 재료나 폭동진압용 무능화 작용제로 이용되어왔다. 호신용품이 난립하는 요즘 각종 불법 호신용 스프레이의 품질관리가 제대로 이행되지 않는 사례가 종종 발견되고 있다. 따라서 기체크로마토그래피로 합성 캡사이신이 포함된 제품이 천연 유래인 것처럼 도용되거나 허용농도를 준수하는 지를 판별할 수 있는 간단한 분석방법을 개발하고자 하였다. 마지막으로 분석방법이 확립되면 시판되는 호신용 스프레이 내에 존재하는 자극성 액체의 성분과 함량 조사에 응용하여 보았다.

  • Invasion mechanisms of pathogens and counteracting defense mechanisms of plants are highly diverse and perpetually evolving. While most classical studies of plant defense have focused only on defense-specific factor-mediated responses, recent work is beginning to shed light on the involvement of non-stress signal components, especially growth and developmental processes. This shift in focus links plant resistance more closely with growth and development. In this review, we summarize our current understanding of how pathogens manipulate host developmental processes and, conversely, of how plants deploy their developmental processes for self-protection. We conclude by introducing our recent work on UNI, a novel R protein in Arabidopsis which mediates cross-talk between developmental processes and defense responses.

국방핵심기술 연구개발 사업의 평가 시스템 개선에 관한 연구 (The Study on Improvement of Evaluation System for National Defense Core Technology R&D Projects)

  • For the realization of the national self-defense, the trend of the defense R&D projects becomes global and diverse with the increase of their budget. Thus, for the effective execution of the budget and the successful performance of the projects, the importance of selection, management and evaluation of the R&D projects is emphasized. This study suggests the applicability of a meta-evaluation model for the realization of the successful defense R&D project evaluation system. This study focused on the development of the meta-evaluation model design which can be applicable to the national defense R&D projects. Using the proposed meta-evaluation model, we propose a technique to enhance the fairness and the reliability of the national defense R&D projects evaluation system.

Current compensation for material consumption of cobalt self-powered neutron detector

  • Co Self-Powered Neutron Detector (SPND) is confronted with the problem of material consumption, which causes the response current can neither reflect the change of neutron flux in time nor be proportional to the neutron flux. In this paper, a deconvolution-based method is established to solve this problem. First of all, a step signal of neutron flux is taken as an example to analyze its performance. When the material consumption of Co SPND is 10%, after compensation, the response current can be in correspondence of neutron flux. Finally, the effects of this model in different Signal-to-Noise Ratio are analyzed, which fully confirms the truth of its excellent performance for compensating Co SPND's signal.

국방분야 부품국산화개발 정책개선 방안 (A Study on the Improvement Policy of the Localization Parts of the Defense Sector)

  • The development of local defense parts has played a role a pure function such as maintenance of stable procurement source of military goods, provision of timely supply, establishment of self-defense base, creation of import substitution effect considering the whole life-cycle cost, reduction of foreign currency and protection of domestic defense industry. However, as the development success rate is deteriorating, it is time to analyze the related policies and improve the system. In order to improve the success rate of development of parts for the defense sector, it is necessary to unify the separated policies by the development-related departments and strengthen the policy support for the development companies to actively participate in the development. In addition, it is necessary to improve the paradigm for the selection of development items and change the authority of selecting development items and to delegate authority to create synergies. Parts localization development policy improvement is military support side it will contribute to strengthening defense power management by organically combining with technological development aspect and economical aspect. Development items will be linked to defense exports, which will have a remarkable effect on sales growth and job creation effects. The development of local defense parts is spreading.

캐릭터의 자아방어기제를 은유하는 '안티돔' 공간의 성격화 전략 - <에반게리온>의 TV 시리즈와 극장판 를 중심으로 - (The Strategy of Characterizing Space that uses Anti-House as a Metaphor for Character's Self-Defense Mechanism - Focusing on the TV Series and the Theater version of -)

  • 애니메이션 작품에서는, 캐릭터의 내적갈등을 효과적으로 전개하고 주제를 강화하기 위한 주요한 전략의 하나로서 공간을 성격화한다. 내적갈등의 과정은, 캐릭터가 결핍에 의해 형성된 두려움으로부터 자아를 보호하기 위하여 무의식적 차원에서 방어기제를 사용하며, 그 자기기만적 속성 때문에 현실이 왜곡되며 갈등이 강화되는 것으로 구체화된다. 본 논문은 애니메이션에 나타나는 공간의 구분에 있어서 갈등이 심화되는 공간인 '안티돔'의 개념에 주목하고, 작품 분석을 통해 내적갈등의 양상과 공간의 특성을 '은유 구조의 틀'로 해석하여, 캐릭터의 내적갈등을 증폭시키는 방어기제의 작용이 '안티돔'으로 성격화되는 그 근원적 관계성을 밝히고자 했다. 분석은 <신세기 에반게리온>의 TV 시리즈와 극장판 를 중심으로 이루어졌다. 이는 극중의 캐릭터들이 모두 심각한 가정사적 결핍과 A.T.필드로 상징되는 배타적 경계의 심리적 속성을 공유하고 있다는 점과, 무엇보다도 핵심 캐릭터인 '이카리 신지'를 통해 내적갈등에 대한 강박적 방어기제의 사용, 그 결과로 나타난 자아의 붕괴와 성찰의 과정을 전체 플롯의 핵심 맥락으로 묘사하고 있기 때문이다. 분석을 통해서, 캐릭터의 방어기제와 '안티돔(안티고로드로 확장된)' 공간과의 유사적 관계를 추론하였으며, (1) X축의 '수평공간'과 (2) Y축의 '수직공간', (3) 모든 공간이 '탈출구가 존재하지 않는' 구조로 이루어졌다는 의미에서 Z축의 '모순의 심도 공간'으로 구축되어 있다는 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 본 논문은, 방어기제와 안티돔의 은유 관계 분석에 있어서 첫 출발의 의미로, <에반게리온>이 가장 적합한 분석 작품이라는 판단에 의해 시작되었다. 그러나 일본 애니메이션 특유의 현학적 구성과 확장적 해석의 가능성 때문에 오히려 명료한 검증이 어려웠다는 점이 연구의 한계로 작용했다. 후속 연구를 통해 보완되기를 바라며, 본 논문이 애니메이션 텍스트의 해석에 있어서 공간의 중요성을 제고하고, 창작을 위한 데이터베이스로 기능할 수 있기를 기대한다.

군 모바일 단말기를 위한 자가적응 소프트웨어 기반 MOSAIC 아키텍처 설계 및 검증 (A Design and Verification of MOSAIC Architecture Based on Self-Adaptive Software for the Military Mobile Equipment)

  • An environment in which the software is operated become more complex and changed dynamically. Such software requires the ability to adapt in accordance with operating environments, by monitoring the changes of user requirements and operating environments. Especially, the mobile device used in military operation requires more dynamical adaptation than the mobile device in normal environment. In this paper, we propose MOSAIC architecture based on Self-Adaptive Software suitable for military mobile device and verify the results. The proposed architecture consists of context manager, evaluation manager and adaptation manager. We simulate the MOSAIC architecture by modelling PRE(Position Reporting Equipment) used in the army and verify four types of operational mode and dynamical reconfiguration of user interface.

  • 유기 분자의 자기조립 다분자막은 기질의 표면에서 전자기적인 상호작용을 통해 자발적으로 형성된다. 본 연구에서는 이 기술을 응용하여 고에너지물질의 안전성과 취급용이성이 향상됨을 입증하였다. 최근 다양한 연구에서 고에너지물질 결정 내부의 결함은 물질의 안전성을 저하시키는 요인이므로, 결정 입자의 크기를 감소시키는 연구가 중요시되고 있다. 이에 따라, 결정화 방법을 통해 제조된 나노 수준의 고에너지물질을 사용하였으며, 자기조립 다분자막 기술을 응용하여 물질의 안전성을 향상시켰다. 입도/표면전하/마찰감도/정전기 전하 등을 측정하여 표면개질 여부를 확인하였다.

자료포락분석을 활용한 국방핵심기술 연구개발사업의 성과 분석 (Analyzing the Performance of Defense R&D Projects based on DEA)

  • Demand for performance analysis is increasing for efficient use of limited budgets such as improving investment efficiency and strategic budget allocation in accordance with the continuous increase demand of R&D budget for developing advanced weapon systems in the future battlefields. In accordance with the Act on the Performance Evaluation and Performance Management of the National R&D Projects established in March 2006, the performance analysis has been conducted for the systematic management and utilization of the R&D project performance. It was recognized as a project to achieve self-defense through strengthening the weapons system development capability, however, efficiency evaluation of Defense R&D projects was not much emphasized. Research on the efficiency analysis of defense R&D projects has been conducted in recent years, but most studies focused on corporate efficiency and productivity of defense companies. In this study, we analyzed the three-stage performance of defence R&D projects based on the logical model using the data envelope analysis(DEA) model. We also analyzed performance analysis from various perspectives through R&D type, technology classification and performance model. This study is expected to help defense department improve defense R&D projects and make decision.
