파상형 이온 선택 표면상의 전기와류 불안정성 (Electroconvective Instability on Undulated Ion-selective Surface)

  • 이온 선택성 표면이 가지는 파상구조와 전기와류 불안정성 간의 전기동역학적 상호작용을 수치해석을 통하여 연구하였다. 유한요소법을 이용하여 전기장-이온 이동현상-유동장을 완전결합 해석을 하였다. 이를 통해 파상구조가 제공하는 전기와류 생성 기작인 Dukhin's mode의 유효성 및 역할을 제시하였다. Runinstein's mode와 경쟁관계에 놓이는 Dukhin's mode는 (i) 과한계 영역으로의 전이 전압을 낮춰주고 (ii) 혼돈계인 과한계 영역에서 전류를 비선형적으로 증가시켜준다. 또한, (iii) 전기와류 불안정성에서 발생하는 비효율적 혼합의 원인인 고주파수 Fourier 성분을 배제하여 전기와류의 혼합 효율을 상승시켜 준다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 제시한 기작은 전기투석, 화학전지 등의 이온 선택성 이동현상 시스템에 대한 에너지 효율적인 기작으로 활용 가능할 것이다.

  • 혼합 amino acid의 선택적 분리를 위해 bulk liquid membrane system을 이용하였으며, p-diamethylaminobenzaldehyde(DAB), sulfosalicylic acid (SSA), 1-naphtol이 amino acid의 선택적 분리를 위한 효과적인 carrier로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 그 결과 sulfosalicylicacid에 대해서 Ala에 대한 선택성을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 1-naphtol에 대해서는 염기성 상태에서 Leu을 약산성 및 중성상태에서는 Val을 선택적으로 분리할 수 있었다. DAB에 대해서는 강산성에서 Phe을, 강알카리 조건에서 Ile를 선택적으로 분리할 수 있었다. Separation mechanism은 SSA와 1-naphtol의 경우에는 ion pair mechanism으로, DAB의 경우에는 imine 결합의 생성반응으로 설명할 수 있었다. 따라서, Liquid membrane을 이용한 생체시료 내의 아미노산을 선택적으로 분리함에 유용성이 클 것으로 사료된다.

금속 구조 변화에 따른 선택 화학기상증착 W Plug의 접합 신뢰성 연구 (The Effects of Metal Structure on the Junction Stability of Sub-micron Contacts Using Selective CVD-W Plug)

  • The junction failure mechanism of W plugs has not been fully understood while the selective W deposition has been widely used for plugging interconnection lines. In this paper, the thermal stability and junction failure mechanism of sub-micron contacts using selective CVD-W plugs were intensively studied with the metal lines of AISiCu, Ti/AISiCu and TiN/AISiCu. The experimental results showed that the contact chain resistance and leakage current in the AISiCu and Ti/AISiCu metallizations were significantly degraded after annealing. From the SEM analysis, it was found that the junction spiking, due to the Al atoms diffusion along the porous interface between selective CVD-W and contactside wall, caused the junction failure. In constast, there was no degradation of the contact resistance and junction leakage current in TiN/AISiCu metal structu-re. It is believed that the TiN barrier layer could prevent AI(Ti) atoms Fromdiffusing. Therefore, TiN barrier between W plug and Al should be used to impro-ve the thermal stability of sub-micron contacts using the selective CVD-W plugs.

I/E Selective Activation based Knowledge Reconfiguration mechanism and Reasoning

  • As the role of information collection becomes increasingly important in the enormous data environment, there is growing demand for more intelligent information technologies for managing complex data. On the other hand, it is difficult to find a solution because of the data complexity and big scaled amount. Accordingly, there is a need for a special intelligent knowledge base frame that can be operated by itself flexibly. In this paper, by adopting switching function for signal transmission in the synapse of the human brain, I/E selective activation based knowledge reconfiguring mechanism is proposed for building more intelligent information management system. In particular, knowledge network design, a special knowledge node structure, Type definition, I/E gauge definition and I/E matching scheme are provided. Using these concepts, the proposed system makes the functions of activation by I/E Gauge, selection and reconfiguration. In a more efficient manner, the routing and reasoning process was performed based on the knowledge reconfiguration network. In the experiments, the process of selection by I/E matching, knowledge reconfiguration and routing & reasoning results are described.

Lipophagy: Molecular Mechanisms and Implications in Metabolic Disorders

  • Autophagy is an intracellular degradation system that breaks down damaged organelles or damaged proteins using intracellular lysosomes. Recent studies have also revealed that various forms of selective autophagy play specific physiological roles under different cellular conditions. Lipid droplets, which are mainly found in adipocytes and hepatocytes, are dynamic organelles that store triglycerides and are critical to health. Lipophagy is a type of selective autophagy that targets lipid droplets and is an essential mechanism for maintaining homeostasis of lipid droplets. However, while processes that regulate lipid droplets such as lipolysis and lipogenesis are relatively well known, the major factors that control lipophagy remain largely unknown. This review introduces the underlying mechanism by which lipophagy is induced and regulated, and the current findings on the major roles of lipophagy in physiological and pathological status. These studies will provide basic insights into the function of lipophagy and may be useful for the development of new therapies for lipophagy dysfunction-related diseases.

RFJ: 신뢰적 고성능 데이터 버퍼 저널링 기법 (RFJ: A Reliable and Fast Journaling Mechanism)

  • 현대 파일 시스템은 예기치 못한 시스템 크래시 또는 재난 상황에서도 데이터의 일관성 유지를 위해 저널링 메커니즘을 유지한다. 그러나 저널링은 I/O 처리율을 떨어뜨리는 문제가 있다. 이 성능 저하 문제는 데이터 버퍼와 메타데이터 버퍼간의 오더링 메커니즘과 2단계 버퍼쓰기에서 기인하는데. 특히, 만약 데이터 버퍼와 메타데이터 버퍼가 동시에 저널링이 되면, 2단계 쓰기 때문에 심각한 성능저하가 발생하며, 이는 I/O 성능과 시스템 신뢰도 간의 Trade-off 관계가 있음을 나타낸다. 본 논문은 RFJ라는 신뢰성 있는 고속 저널링 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법은 Ordering enforced writeback 저널링 모드와 selective journaling 메커니즘을 도입해서 높은 신뢰도와 동시에 고성능 I/O가 가능하게 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법의 실험 결과 기존 Ext3 저널링 모드 대비 약 5배 이상 빠른 I/O 처리량을 지원하면서 동시에 Ext3 저널링과 동일한 수준의 신뢰성을 나타는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

V2O5/TiO2 촉매의 선택적 환원촉매반응에서 격자산소의 역할 (The Role of Lattice Oxygen in the Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx on V2O5/TiO2 Catalysts)

  • In situ electrical conductivity measurements on $V_2O_5WO_3/TiO_2$ catalysts were carried out at between 100 and $300^{\circ}C$ under pure oxygen, NO and $NH_3$ to investigate the reaction mechanism for ammonia SCR (selective catalytic reduction) de NOX. The electrical conductivity of catalysts changed irregularly with supply of NO. It was, however, found that the electrical conductivity change with ammonia supply was regular and the increase of electrical conductivity was mainly caused by reduction of the labile surface oxygen. The electrical conductivity change of catalysts showed close relationship with the conversion rate of NOx. Variation of conversion rate in atmosphere without gaseous oxygen also showed that labile lattice oxygen is indispensable in the initial stage of the de NOx reaction. These results suggest that liable lattice oxygen acts decisive role in the de NOx mechanism. They also support that de NOx reaction occurs through the Eley?Rideal type mechanism. The amount of labile oxygen can be estimated from the measurement of electrical conductivity change for catalysts with ammonia supply. This suggests that measurement of the change can be used as a measure of the de NOx performance.

CuO띠가 입혀진 ZnO 소결체의 일산화탄소에 대한 선택적 감지 특성 (Selective Sensing of Carbon Monoxide Gas in CuO banded ZnO Ceramics)

  • The purpose of this paper is a investigation of sensing mechanism for the carbon monoxide gas in CuO infiltrated ZnO ceramics. Potential barriers between CuO and ZnO can explain the selective sensing of carbon monoxide gas in the physically contacted CuO/ZnO ceramics. A specimen having no potential barrier between CuO and ZnO was prepared to see whether the gas sensing mechanism is related to the potential barrier. CuO and ZnO was prepared to see whether the gas sensing mechanism is related to the potential barrier. CuO was painted on the non electrode sides of ZnO ceramics. The CuO painted ZnO ceramics showed that the sensitivityfor the carbon moxnoxide gas was 1.3 times as high as that for the hydrogen gas. It is almost same gas sensitivity as that of the CuO infiltrated ZnO ceramics.

  • Gear trains are used in many machinery for variable speed ratios. Typical shapes of gear trains are two categories: simple gear trains and planetary gear trains. Generally the methods of the design typical shapes are two way. One of the methods is trailblazing design and the other is selective design in available types. This paper presents the mechanism types when input rotating velocity and output rotating velocity are maintained for useful planetary gear reducers of twelve types. Also, this paper gives the applicable example about rotating velocity of the gear axis, carrier velocity and the organized gear specifications

  • This paper introduces a robot called the MRINSPECT V (Multifunctional Robotic crawler for Inpipe in-SPECTion V) for the inspection of pipelines with a nominal 8-in inside diameter. Based on the mechanism of the previous model MRINSPECT IV, we developed a new MRINSPECT V by using the differential driving mechanism, so that just simply controlling the speed of each driving units helps the robot to travel effectively inside the pipelines. Furthermore, the robot uses clutches in transmitting driving power to wheels. This clutch mechanism enables MRINSPECT V to select the suitable driving method according to the shape of pipeline. In this paper, the critical points in design and construction of the proposed robot are described with the preliminary results to provide good mobility and increase the efficiency.
