Wireless Relaying is a promising solutions to overcome the channel impairments and provides high data rate coverage that appear for beyond 3G mobile communications. In this paper we present end to end BER performance of dual hop wireless communication systems equipped with multiple Decode and Forward relays over Rayleigh fading channel with the best relay selection. We compare the BER performance of the best relay with the BER performance of single relay. We select the best relay based on the end to end channel conditions. We further calculate the outage probability of the best relay. It is shown that the outage probability of the best relay is equivalent to the outage probability when all relays take part in the transmission. We apply Orthogonal Space Time Block coding(OSTBC) at the source terminal. Numerical and simulation results are presented to verify our analysis.

A multi-label classification is to find multiple labels associated with the input pattern. Multi-label classification can be achieved by extending conventional single-label classification. Common extension techniques are known as Binary relevance, Label powerset, and Classifier chains. However, most of the extended multi-label naive bayes classifier has not been able to accurately estimate posterior probabilities because it does not reflect the label dependency. And the remaining extended multi-label naive bayes classifier has a problem that it is unstable to estimate posterior probability according to the label selection order. To estimate posterior probability well, we propose a new posterior probability estimation method that reflects the probability between all labels and labels efficiently. The proposed method reflects the correlation between labels. And we have confirmed through experiments that the extended multi-label naive bayes classifier using the proposed method has higher accuracy then the existing multi-label naive bayes classifiers.

Outdated Channel State Information (CSI) was proved to have negative effect on performance in two-way relay networks. The diversity order of widely used opportunistic relay selection (ORS) was degraded to unity in networks with outdated CSI. This paper proposed a multiple relay selection scheme for amplify-and-forward (AF) based two-way relay networks (TWRN) with outdated CSI. In this scheme, two sources exchange information through more than one relays. We firstly select N best relays out of all candidate relays with respect to signal-noise ratio (SNR). Then, the ratios of the SNRs on the rest of the candidate relays to that of the Nth highest SNR are tested against a normalized threshold ${\mu}{\in}[0,1]$, and only those relays passing this test are selected in addition to the N best relays. Expressions of outage probability, average bit error rate (BER) and ergodic channel capacity were obtained in closed-form for the proposed scheme. Numerical results and Simulations verified our theoretical analyses, and showed that the proposed scheme had significant gains comparing with conventional ORS.

This paper proposes two novel prediction-based adaptive selection cooperation schemes combined with a new relay selection strategy. In the proposed schemes, the destination predicts whether the transmission will be successful or not before a single relay is selected to transmit source's decoded data. Depending on the prediction, the destination feeds back a command to the whole network. Numerical results show that the proposed schemes combined with the relay selection strategy successfully reduce its outage probability, improve its throughput, save transmitted power, and prolong the lifetime of the network.

This paper considers physical-layer security protocols in multicast cognitive radio (CR) networks. In particular, we propose dual-hop cooperative decode-and-forward (DF) and randomize-and-forward (RF) schemes using partial relay selection method to enhance secrecy performance for secondary networks. In the DF protocol, the secondary relay would use same codebook with the secondary source to forward the source's signals to the secondary destination. Hence, the secondary eavesdropper can employ either maximal-ratio combining (MRC) or selection combining (SC) to combine signals received from the source and the selected relay. In RF protocol, different codebooks are used by the source and the relay to forward the source message secretly. For each scheme, we derive exact and asymptotic closed-form expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP), non-zero secrecy capacity probability (NzSCP) in both independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) and independent but non-identically distributed (i.n.i.d.) networks. Moreover, we also give a unified formula in an integral form for average secrecy capacity (ASC). Finally, our derivations are then validated by Monte-Carlo simulations.

The switched diversity, although its performance is a little inferior to the selection diversity, is widely used due to its advantage that only one RF circuit is required for its operation without respect to the number of antennas in use. In this paper, we propose an application of the antenna switched diversity to a spread spectrum system with adaptive modulation and derived the optimal antenna switching threshold to maximize the average transmission bit rate. We also compared the performances of the proposed system with those of the two cases using a single antenna and the selection diversity with two antennas in terms of the average number of bits per symbol(BPS), the probability of no transmission, and the average BER. The performance analysis shows that, if the number of paths in a multipath channel environment increases, the performance of the proposed scheme becomes closer to that of the selection diversity based system in terms of the average BPS. Furthermore, the proposed scheme produces as almost high the probability of no transmission as the selection diversity based system for the case of low average SNR, although the former yields a little higher probability of no transmission than the latter fer the case of high average SNR.

Cognitive radio has been recently proposed to dynamically access unused-spectrum. The CR users can share the same frequency band with the primary user without interference to each other. Usually each CR user needs to determine spectrum availability by itself depending only on its local observations. But uncertainty communication environment effects can be mitigated so that the detection probability is improved in a heavily shadowed environment. Soft detection is a primary user detection method of cooperative cognitive radio networks. In our research, we will improve system detection probability by using optimal cooperative node selection algorithm. New algorithm can find optimal number of cooperative sensing nodes for cooperative soft detection by using maximum ratio combining (MRC) method. Through analysis, proposed cooperative node selection algorithm can select optimal node for cooperative sensing according to the system requirement and improve the system detection probability.

When X and Y have independent gamma distributions, we consider the testing problem for two gamma means. We propose a solution based on a Bayesian model selection procedure to this problem in which no subjective input is considered. The reference prior is derived. Using the derived reference prior, we compute the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors. The posterior probability of each model is used as a model selection tool. Simulation study and a real data example are provided.

We consider nonparametric procedures for the selection and ranking problems. Tukey's generalized lambda distribution is condidered as the distribution for the score function because the distribution can approximate many well-known contionuous distributions. Also we compare these procedures in terms of efficiency, defined by the ratio of a probability of a correct selection divided by the expected selected subset size.

This paper evaluates the outage probability of cognitive relay networks with cooperation between secondary users based on the underlay approach, when multiple primary receivers coexist with secondary users. Using an appropriate relay selection criterion in cognitive radio networks, we derive the outage probability of secondary user. It is shown that the outage probability increases as the number of primary receivers increases and we quantify the increase. Through the simulation results, we verify that the performance of relaying transmission is varied more sensitively compared to that of direct transmission as the number of primary receivers increases. In addition, the relaying transmission can be less efficient than the direct transmission when multiple primary receiver exist but it can be more efficient than the direct transmission by increasing the relay selection diversity.
