Hybrid Optimization for Distribution Channel Management: A Case of Retail Location Selection

  • Purpose: This study aims to introduce a hybrid MCDM model to support the selection of retail store location. Research design, data, and methodology: The hybrid approach of ANP and TOPSIS was used to address the location selection problem. The ANP technique was employed to compute the weights of the selection criteria, whilst the TOPSIS was used to rank alternatives. The proposed approach was then applied into a fashion company in Vietnam to select the best alternatives to be the retail store. Results: The results showed that Candidate 1 - Hai Ba Trung street is the most appropriate selection for locating retail stores. Conclusions: The proposed approach provides the decision makers with more useful methods than traditional ones. Therefore, the model can be applied to the location selection in all industries. In terms of academic contribution, the selection criteria proposed in the research can devote to the literature in the selection of location along with the concept of distribution channels. Additionally, the research also provides insight and guidelines for firms in making decision on retail store location based on limited resources to avoid the waste of funds. However, the results only answer to the context of Vietnam - a developing country. Thus, future research may be extended to developed countries where have better conditions.

Multi-Dimensional Selection Method of Port Logistics Location Based on Entropy Weight Method

  • In order to effectively relieve the traffic pressure of the city, ensure the smooth flow of freight and promote the development of the logistics industry, the selection of appropriate port logistics location is the basis of giving full play to the port logistics function. In order to better realize the selection of port logistics, this paper adopts the entropy weight method to set up a multi-dimensional evaluation index, and constructs the evaluation model of port logistics location. Then through the actual case, from the environmental dimension and economic competition dimension to make choices and analysis. The results show that port d has the largest logistics competitiveness and the highest relative proximity among the three indicators of hinterland city economic activity, hinterland economic structure, and port operation capacity of different port logistics locations, which has absolute advantages. It is hoped that the research results can provide a reference for the multi-dimensional selection of port logistics site selections.

공간분석기법을 이용한 Car-sharing 서비스 위치선정 (Site Selection of Carsharing Service by Spatial Analysis Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 대전광역시를 대상으로 향후 카쉐어링 서비스를 제공할 경우를 가정하고 위치 선정방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 GIS Arc/Info 10 소프트웨어를 활용하여 대전광역시 전역을 $500m{\times}500m$ 크기의 셀로 구분하고 카쉐어링 서비스에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 요인들을 선정하고 각 요인들의 값을 표준화하는 과정을 거쳤다. AHP 기법을 도입하여 각 요인별 가중치를 전문가 설문을 통해 결정하고 모든 셀($500m{\times}500m$ 크기)별로 적합도 지수를 산정하였으며, 네트워크 분석(Network Analysis)모듈에 내장되어있는 입지배분모델(Location-allocation Model)을 이용하여 서비스 시설의 위치를 30개의 권역으로 선정하는 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 카쉐어링 서비스 위치선정을 위한 방안은 향후 카쉐어링 서비스가 도입될 때 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대되며, 향후 적정한 수요의 추정과 경제성 검토 등에 대한 추가연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

화주의 광양항 선택 결정요인에 관한 실증분석 (Empirical Analysis of the Determinants for Shippers' Selection of Gwangyang Port)

  • 항만선택 결정요인에 관한 선행연구를 정리해보면 매우 다양한 연구에서 결정요인들이 도출되었으며, 다수의 연구에서 주요요인들이 중복적으로 활용되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그러나 연구자별로 조사대상의 입장과 선호도에 따라 다소 연구결과가 다르게 나타나고 있다. 따라서 화주들의 광양항 선택 결정요인을 도출하기 위해서는 문헌조사와 함께 적합한 실증적 연구와 분석이 요구되어 진다. 본 연구에서는 화주가 항만을 선택할 때 미치는 결정요인들을 선행연구를 통해 도출한 후, 도출된 결정요인들이 광양항을 이용하고 있는 화주들에게 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 광양항 이용화주들의 지속적인 광양항 이용 여부를 종속변수로 설정하였고, 선행연구에서 도출된 항만선택 결정요인인 항만서비스, 항만시설, 항만입지, 항만비용 등을 독립변수로 설정하였다. 독립변수의 주요 요인을 살펴보면, 항만서비스 요인으로는 하역능력, 선박기항 빈도, 항만체선, CFS의 처리능력, 통관서비스, 항만정보 서비스 등을 변수로 설정하였다. 또한, 항만시설 요인으로는 항만의 규모, 적절한 하역장비의 보유, 화물의 손상 및 멸실 빈도 등을 변수로 설정하였으며, 항만입지 요인으로는 항만과의 접근성, 항만의 인지도 등을 설정하였다. 마지막으로 항만비용 요인으로는 내륙운송비, 항만시설사용료, 하역료, 무료장치기간, 인센티브 등을 변수로 설정하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과 광양항 이용 화주들은 항만서비스, 항만시설, 항만입지, 항만비용 요인에서 모두 광양항 선택에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 항만비용, 항만입지, 항만서비스, 항만시설 등의 순으로 중요도가 나타나고 있다. 이는 화주들이 항만시설보다는 항만비용과 항만의 입지, 항만서비스를 항만선택 시 주요한 고려요인으로 작용하고 있는 것으로 판단된다.

GIS를 이용한 풍력발전단지 최적입지 선정방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Site Selection for Wind Power Using GIS)

  • The purpose of this study is to select appropriate location factors for wind power plant, provide detailed classification criteria, and find out appropriate sites for installing wind power plant in Gangwondo. In this study, the following 11 factors were extracted for site selection of wind power plant : wind resource, topography (valley angle, distance to the ridge), forest density, land use, preservation area, national park, Baekdu-Daegan, noise, shade, Transmission Line, and approaching roads. Each factor had relatively different level of importance so that AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique was used to calculated the weighted value per factor. For overlay analysis, classification criteria were prepared for each factor and each factor was classified into 3 grades : very appropriate, intermediate, poor. According to overlay analysis, the areas which received the highest grade (grade 5) was only in 0.16% of the total area of Gangwondo and had a tendency to exist along the mountain ridge over 600-meter elevation. Through analyzing the yearly average of wind power density, it was proved that the wind power density of areas with grade 4 or 5 had abundant wind resource over $400W/m^2$.

  • 기후변화, 농업용수, 대기오염 등의 환경변화에 민감한 연구단지의 특성상 환경 자원의 이용이 용이해야 하나 현 농업기술원은 농업연구를 위한 환경 및 생태계 유지가 힘든 실정이다. 또한 지속 가능한 농업, 6차 산업화와 같은 새로운 패러다임에 입각한 기반시설을 수립하고 공공서비스의 효율적인 공급을 위해서는 경상북도농업기술원의 이전이 불가피하다. 이에 따라 농업기술원 이전을 위한 입지이론 및 방법을 검토하고 입지여건 분석을 위한 입지선정 기준을 제시하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 따라서, 먼저 공공시설 이전에 관한 입지이론에 대해 알아보았고, 입지선정을 위한 연구방법으로 후보지 여과방법을 사용하였다. 후보지 여과방법에는 요인별 점검법, 나뭇가지 모양분석법, 혼합형 분석법이 있는데 본 연구에서는 요인별 점검법을 바탕으로 하여 입지기준을 제시하였다. 이에 따라 입지선정 기준으로 경제성과 개발의 용의성, 접근성과 편의성, 농업여건, 토양여건, 인력자원 지원이 가능한 곳 그리고 연계성과 형평성이 고려되었다.

Effect of Braid Structure on Yarn Cross-Sectional Shape

  • The effect of braid construction parameters on yarn cross-sectional shape is presented in this paper. The location of the yam within the braid unit cell is quantified by a compaction factor. A range of braided fabrics were produced and optically measured for actual yarn cross-sectional shape. A comparison of the theoretical and experimental values shows good correlation. Design curves can be produced with the developed model to allow selection of appropriate braid process parameter to create yarns with desired cross-sectional geometries.

  • When an abnormal condition occurs due to a fault current at a consumer location where electricity is supplied through a high-capacity and high-$T_c$ superconducting(HTS) cable, the HTS cable would be damaged if there is no appropriate measure to protect it. Therefore, appropriate measures are needed to protect HTS cables. The fault-current-limiting HTS cable that was suggested in this study performs an ideal transport current function in normal operations and plays a role in limiting a fault current in abnormal operation (i.e., when a fault current is applied). It has a structure that facilitated its self-current-limiting ability through device change and reconfiguration in the existing HTS cable without extra switching equipment. To complete this structure, it is essential to investigate about the selection of the superconducting wire. Therefore, in this paper, HTS wire using two types of different stabilization layer is compared and examined the stability and current limiting properties under the existence of a fault current.

Flap selection for reconstruction of wide palatal defect after cancer surgery

  • Background: The resection of head and neck cancer can result in postoperative defect. Many patients have difficulty swallowing and masticating, and some have difficulty speaking. Various types of flaps are used for palatal reconstruction, but flap selection remains controversial. Therefore, our study will suggest which flap to choose during palatal reconstruction. Methods: Thirteen patients who underwent palatal reconstruction from 30 January, 1989 to 4 October, 2016 at our institution. Size was classified as small when the width was < $4cm^2$, medium when it was $4-6cm^2$, and large when it was ${\geq}6cm^2$. Based on speech evaluation, the subjects were divided into a normal group and an easily understood group. After surgery, we assessed whether flap selection was appropriate through the evaluation of flap success, complications, and speech evaluation. Results: Defect size ranged from $1.5{\times}2.0cm$ to $5.0{\times}6.0cm$. In four cases, the defect was in the anterior third of the palate, in eight cases it was in the middle, and there was one case of whole palatal defect. There were three small defects, two medium-sized defects, and eight large defects. Latissimus dorsi free flaps were used in six of the eight large defects in the study. Conclusion: The key to successful reconstructive surgery is appropriate selection of the flap with reference to the characteristics of the defect. Depending on the size and location of the defect, the profiles of different flaps should be matched with the recipient from the outset.

동작센싱 스마트레깅스 프로토타입 개발 (Developing a Prototype of Motion-sensing Smart Leggings)

  • This study focusses on the development of a motion-sensing smart leggings prototype with the help of a module that monitors motion using a fiber-type stretch sensor. Additionally, it acquires data on Electrocardiogram (ECG), respiration, and body temperature signals, for the development of smart clothing used in online exercise coaching and customized healthcare systems. The research process was conducted in the following order: 1) Fabrication of a fiber-type elastic strain sensor for motion monitoring, 2) Positioning and attaching the sensor, 3) Pattern development and three-dimensional (3D) design, 4) Prototyping 5) Wearability test, and 6) Expert evaluation. The 3D design method was used to develop an aesthetic design, and for sensing accurate signal acquisition functions, wearability tests, and expert evaluation. As a result, first, the selection or manufacturing of an appropriate sensor for the function is of utmost importance. Second, the selection and attachment method of a location that can maximize the function of the sensor without interfering with any activity should be studied. Third, the signal line selection and connection method should be considered, and fourth, the aesthetic design should be reflected along with functional verification. In addition, the selection of an appropriate material is important, and tests for washability and durability must be made. This study presented a manufacturing method to improve the functionality and design of smart clothing, through the process of developing a prototype of motion-sensing smart leggings.
