As the life style of modern people is gradually being more scientific, up-to-date and specialized, food habit and food culture are a measure of cultural level of a country. Studies on consumer behavioral model show that food habit is closely related to consumer preference, changing life pattern and increasing family income. The purpose of this study was, accordingly, to define the impact of menu characteristics on customer menu selection. For that purpose, some attempts were made: First, discuss the theories on Italian food and customer purchasing behavior as a standard of analysis. Second, find out if there are any differences in customer menu-selection factors in hotel Italian restaurant. Third, make an empirical analysis of menu-selection factors in hotel Italian restaurant to suggest in which direction it should move forward. Fourth, analyze the relationship of demographic characteristics to menu-selection factors.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factorial structure of the criteria on clothing selection of the working women, and then to provide the date to develop an instrument to measure the criteria on clothing selection. A total of 877 samples were selected from unmarried female in the twenties. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson's product-mement correlation coefficients, content analysis and Cronbach's α. The results of the study were as follows; 1. There were identified 7 factors as the clothing selection criteria of the working women; Fashion, Practicality, Modesty, Appearance, Service, Comfort, and Impulse purchase. 2. Comparing with the previous results, we confirmed that the criteria on clothing selection was made up of at least 8 factors; Practicality, Comfort, Brand or price, Impulse purchase, Fashion, Individuality, Modesty, and Service. 3. According to the correlation among 8 factors, they formed two clusters; one cluster contained Practicality, Comfort, and Modesty factor, and the other did Brand or price, Impulse purchase, Fashion and Individuality factor. 4. Service factor was significantly correlated to the other factors, that is, service was the very important criteria on the clothing selection.

The selection of an appropriate contract method is vital for the successful operation of the project. However, there has been a lack of studies on objective decision making support models for use in the planning stage of a project contract. The present study had the goal of analyzing the factors that influence contract method selection, as an initial study for developing a project contract method selection model. The existing related studies were analyzed, and the factors considered in the literature were selected. Then, based on the findings, the opinions of an expert group on the important factors for contract method selection were collected through a survey. The collected opinions were analyzed using factor analysis, a statistical analysis method. The results will be utilized in the future as preliminary data for developing a decision making model for selecting a contract method.

In this paper, we study Bayesian estimation for the finite population proportion in binary data under selection bias. We use a Bayesian nonignorable selection model to accommodate the selection mechanism. We compare four possible estimators of the finite population proportions based on data analysis as well as Monte Carlo simulation. It turns out that nonignorable selection model might be useful for weekly biased samples.

In this study, It is assumed that customers are both usage unit of spare parts and stores of displaying and selling the goods that are installation unit of having the spare parts. The demand pattern through the effective order of spare parts and issue list in installation unit is investigated based on the assumption. Current ASL (Authorized Stockage List) selection of the army has been conducted in the way of using the analysis result of real usage experiences on spare parts used during the Korea War. For this study, ASL selection criteria and procedures based on army regulations and field manuals are specified. Since the traditional method does not presents the association analysis on spare parts used for the current equipment operating and does not have the clear criterion and analysis system about the ASL selection, in order to solve these problems, it was carried out that the association rule is employed for analyzing relationship between the effective order and issue list of the spare parts in point of the spare parts between usage unit and occurring month about purchase spare parts based on the star-schema table. Finally the new ASL selection way using the analysis result is proposed.

This article deals with variable selection problem under a newly formed predictive heteroscedastic discriminant rule that accounts for mulitple homogeneous covariance matrices across the K multivariate normal populations. A general version of predictive discriminant rule, a variable selection criterion, and a criterion for stopping with further selection are suggested. In a simulation study the practical utilities of those considered are demonstrated.

In 2007 the Nuclear Energy Agency's Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations published Best Practice Guidelines for the use of CFD in Nuclear Reactor Safety. This paper provides an overview of the document' contents and highlights a few of its recommendations. The document covers the full extent of a CFD analysis from initial problem definition and selection of an appropriate tool for the analysis, through final documentation of results. It provides advice on selection of appropriate simulation software, mesh construction, and selection of physical models. In addition it contains extensive discussion of the verification and validation process that should accompany any high-quality CFD analysis.

메타분석(Meta-analysis)은 서로 독립적으로 연구되어진 결과들을 전체적인 하나의 결과로 도출하기 위해 사용되어지는 통계적 방법이다. 이러한 통계적 방법을 설명할 모형으로는 선택모형(selection model)을 포함한 계층적 모형(hierarchical model)을 사용하며, 이러한 모형들은 베이지안 메타분석에 유용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나, 메타분석의 자료들은 일반적으로 출판편의(publication bias)를 갖고 있으므로 이를 극복하고자 가중함수(weight function)를 이용하여 분포함수를 새롭게 정의하여 사용한다. 최근에 Silliman(1997)은 계층적 모형(hierarchical model)에 가중함수를 첨부한 계층적 선택모형(hierarchical selection model)을 정의하고 모수적 베이지안 방법을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 미관측된 연구효과에 디리슈레 과정 사전분포(Dirichlet process prior)를 적용한 준모수적 계층적 선택모형(semiparametric hierarchical selection models)을 소개한다. 여기서 제시된 준모수적 계층적 선택모형을 베이지안 방법으로 추정하기 위하여 마코프 연쇄 몬테칼로(Markov chain Monte Carlo)방법을 이용한다. 제시된 방법을 적용하기 위하여 실제 자료(Johnson, 1993)인 충치를 예방하기 위한 두 가지의 예방약의 효과에 대한 차이를 비교하기 위해 얻어진 12개의 연구를 이용하여 메타분석을 한다.

This study is to grasp selection factors and habits of information searching of customers of ophthalmic service and to verify the differences in them and to investigate how they affect in selecting medical institute by demographic sociological characters, selection factors by classification and habits of information searching, how many times they used and the type of medical treatment. The result of analysis of importance of selection factors of medical institute, it showed that doctors' career were evaluated high by classification and it showed in order of university hospital, hospital, clinic in facilities and equipment and in order of university hospital, clinic, hospital in distance transportation Analysis of importance of selection factors by sex distinction, it showed that doctors' career were high for both male and female and according to the result of analysis of selection factors by an age, doctors' career variable was measured high and it showed in order of facilities, equipment, distance and convenient transportation. The result of analysis by the form of medical treatment, doctors' career were measured high in all diseases. Facilities and equipment were measured high in case of a corrective operation of eyesight and distance transportation variable showed high in simple eye diseases. According to the result of analysis of habits of searching information by utility frequency, one's own experience in the past(direct visits) was the highest over all and it showed in order of introduction of other ophthalmic department in case of people who go to the institutes many times.

In this paper, we introduce the methodological system design via feature selection using Principal Component Analysis and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithms. The overall methodological system design comes from three kinds of modules such as preprocessing module, feature extraction module, and recognition module. First, Histogram equalization enhance the quality of image by exploiting contrast effect based on the normalized function generated from histogram distribution values of 2D face image. Secondly, PCA extracts feature vectors to be used for face recognition by using eigenvalues and eigenvectors obtained from covariance matrix. Finally the feature selection for face recognition among the entire feature vectors is considered by means of the Particle Swarm Optimization. The optimized Polynomial-based Radial Basis Function Neural Networks are used to evaluate the face recognition performance. This study shows that the proposed methodological system design is effective to the analysis of preferred face recognition.
