  • One of the most important factors for the consumers to select a coffee shop is a visual factor. The analysis results of interior pale face image of the coffee house doesn't show significant differences on all the categories. It is recognized that the items affected by symbolized color are supplies and interior design. If a respondent choose a coffee house by the symbolized color, 'Starbucks' is the most memorable or want to visit place, and only one category, pocket money shows significant difference in choosing coffee houses. The investigation results say that the most memorable or want to visit coffee house by the visual icon color are 'Starbucks', 'Angelinus' and 'Caffebene', and that 'Ediya's icon color marks the characteristics of the shop very well, and 'Hollys' has the most characterful color. Resultingly, visual elements and icon colors of the shop seriously affect consumer's choice in visiting a coffee house. This study is to understand the influence of visual elements in choosing a coffee house for general customers, and it is considered that the importance of visual elements and color marketing must be recognized and developed.

  • Dynamic job shop environment requires not only more flexible capabilities of a CAPP system but higher utility of the generated process plans. In order to meet the requirements, this paper develops an algorithm that can select machines for the machining operations to be performed by predicting the machine loads. The developed algorithm is based on the multiple objective genetic algorithm that gives rise to a set of optimal solutions (in general, known as Pareto-optimal solutions). The objective shows a combination of the minimization of part movement and the maximization of machine utility balance. The algorithm is characterized by a new and efficient method for nondominated sorting, which can speed up the running time, as well as a method of two stages for genetic operations, which can maintain a diverse set of solutions. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated by comparing with another multiple objective genetic algorithm, called NSGA-II.

  • This paper deals with the procedures of effective mid-term Operation Planning establishment for painting shop in shipbuilding. and develop prototype system. In general, the block painting process consists of two stages such as blasting operation for surface preparation and painting operation for paint application for blocks. Weather condition is a potent Influence on those operations. The procedures consists of four steps, Load analysis, Generate alternative simulation plan. Implementation of Allocation automation module and Compare result of each simulation plan. Explain of each step. as follows, 1.step, Load analysis measure amount of assigned workload and manhour. 2.step, simulation scheme include alterable control variable such as overtime, weather. Auto allocating module carry out feasibility of simulation plan. 3.step, Allocation automation module are composed of three algorithms, as followings: - the block allocation algorithm that determines the number of blocks to be processed each day, - the team allocation algorithm that allocates blocks to worker groups. - the block arrangement algorithm that arrange blocks in blasting and painting cells. Since the block arrangement algorithm is conducted simultaneously with the team allocation algorithm, the total structure of the operating algorithms is considered to have two phases: first, daily load balancing with capacity limit and second, team allocation considering arrangement each day 4 step, Comparing result of each simulation plan. and select best simulation plan.

  • Time-series data often contain one of the most valuable pieces of information in many fields including manufacturing. Because time-series data are relatively cheap to acquire, they (e.g., vibration signals) have become a crucial part of big data even in manufacturing shop floors. Recently, deep-learning models have shown state-of-art performance for analyzing big data because of their sophisticated structures and considerable computational power. Traditional models for a machinery-monitoring system have highly relied on features selected by human experts. In addition, the representational power of such models fails as the data distribution becomes complicated. On the other hand, deep-learning models automatically select highly abstracted features during the optimization process, and their representational power is better than that of traditional neural network models. However, the applicability of deep-learning models to the field of prognostics and health management (PHM) has not been well investigated yet. This study integrates the "residual fitting" mechanism inherently embedded in the wavelet transform into the convolutional neural network deep-learning structure. As a result, the architecture combines a signal smoother and classification procedures into a single model. Validation results from rotor vibration data demonstrate that our model outperforms all other off-the-shelf feature-based models.

  • High speed machining is a machining process which cuts materials with the fast movement and rotation of a spindle in a machine tool. It reduces machining time because of the high feed and the high speed of a spindle. In addition it gets rid of post processes for high precision machining. When the high speed machining is applied to especially hardened steel, operators should select the proper parameters of machining. This can produce machining surfaces which is qualified with good surface roughness. This paper presents a method for selecting machining parameters to minimize surface roughness with high speed machining in cutting the hardened steels. Experimental data for surface roughness are collected in a machining shop based on the cutting feed and the spindle rotation. The data fits in hi-cubic polynomial surface of mathematical form. From the model this research minimize the surface roughness to find the optimal values of the feed and the spindle speed. This paper presents a program which automatically generates optimal solutions from the raw data of experiments.

  • This study identified the internal motives for the purchase behavior of Korean male consumers in multi-brand fashion stores by conducting in-depth interviews with 8 men in their 20s and 30s. All respondents had significant experience with this type of store. Data were analyzed in an inductive way and compared with Bohemianism to interpret and described the results as a recent phenomenon of men's fashion. The five internal motives were extracted from analysis: the pursuit of freedom of expression, the counter-cultural resistance to department stores and domestic fashion brands, which tend to copy designs from international brands, the pursuit of mobility and adventure for trying to search and wear a new fashion style, the pursuit of pleasure through store experience, and the pursuit of artistic value by considering goods purchased in multi-brand fashion stores as artistic and cultural goods.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the various types of styles and characteristics of Japanese street fashion since the 1990's. The primary source of data has been a collection of visual materials which include snapshots of young men and women in the Japanese street scene starting in the 1990's. To approach the Japanese street fashion comprehensively, I have divided the background of the Japanese fashion into three parts: 1. The birth of various fashion markets like the Dankai junior generation, Hetauma generation and Shinjinrui junior generation. 2. The pursuit of fashion senses like the well-balanced sense of independence and commensalism, uncommon sense and sense of a tassel. 3. A boom in new fashion business types like SPA and select shop. After the 1990's, the Japanese street fashion has changed through the popularity of styles which include the conservative casual style, sexy casual style, Harajuku pop style, and 3 Re(revival, remake, recycle) fashion style. The characteristics of the Japanese street fashion reflects the performance of virtual reality, the sign of style culture, and the communication of process.

  • In recent years, work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are one of major issues in occupational safety and health in Korea, since the number of injured workers has rapidly increased and the related regulation was amended to improve the work conditions. Main risk factors of WMSDs in Korean industries include manual handling of heavy weight loads, awkward postures, repetitive tasks, prolonged static muscle contraction, and so on. in this article, some ergonomics case studies for identifying the risk factors of WMSDs and far their prevention were introduced. They include a biomechanical analysis for the heavy-weight handling task in a machine-repair shop, physiological evaluation of backpack-carrying tasks in a beverage delivery job, and a set of psychophysical studies to evaluate static-postural load. These studies showed that there are several different ergonomic approaches to identifying and evaluating risk factors of WMSDs and to eliminating them or reducing their levels, and that it is important to select proper methods and apply them in improving the work conditions according to the characteristics of the task. In addition, it needs to develop practical and effective ergonomic tools to prevent WMSDs and to provide these tools to the safety managers in the field so that they can improve the tasks by themselves.
