Survey based on references and former studies was used. and statistical methods such as frequency, percentage, mean, factor analysis, preference regression were applied. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The factor structures of brand image were classified into symbolism/aesthetics, and practicality. 2. Perception, ideal preference vector, and brand preference of brand image were proven to be significantly different among the four segmented consumer groups.

  • This project follows the heterogeneous agent market segmented model of Landon-Lane and Occhino (2007) with using Korean data, M1 and GDP deflator from 1882:I to 2007:II. This paper estimates parameters with Monte Carlo Markov Chain. The fraction of traders, ${\lambda}$, in Korea is 15.64%. The quarterly preferences discount factor's, ${\beta}$, posterior mean is 0.9922. The posterior mean of the inverse of the elasticity of the labor supply to the real wage, ${\varphi}$, is 0.0316. The elasticity of the labor supply to the real wage has a very large value. By Hansen (1985) and Christiano and Eichenbaum (1992) and Cooley and Hansen (1989), models having large elasticity of the aggregate labor supply better match macroeconomic data.

  • This paper explores the possibility of segmentation of consumers based on their quality expectations toward the automotive telematics service. Hypotheses on utilizing consumers' expectations toward the automotive telematics service for the market segmentation and linking the segments with optimal product designs are formulated. Samples are segmented based on their perceived service quality to the service attributes from various configurations of automotive telematics service. Then, a regression analysis on the segmented groups of users is performed to check whether they have qualitatively differing evaluation on the service quality. The result indicates that the proposed segmentation is operational and differing product attributes configuration is desirable according to the characteristics of the consumer segment. Hence, according to the characteristics of each consumer segment formed based on their expectation toward the telematics service, a product differentiation strategy of the automotive telematics system can be designed and be proposed to the product line designer.

  • The competitiveness of the domestic cosmetics market will improve more rapidly when efficient market segmentation is secured, qualitative information about each of the segmented markets is gathered, and adequate marketing strategies to meet the demands of each segmented markets is established. Therefore, continuous studies are needed to secure qualitative information for market segmentation. In order to find out whether the domestic cosmetics market could be segmented according to consumers' shopping orientation, the present study analyzed cosmetics purchasing behavior, complaint behavior, and demographic characteristics of each consumer group classified according to their shopping orientation. The study was implemented by a normative-descriptive survey method using a questionnaire. Three groups of consumers were identified according to their shopping orientation: price-oriented group, information-oriented group, and brand-oriented group. It was confirmed that the groups, classified according to shopping orientation, have significantly different demographic, purchasing, and complaint behavior. Therefore, shopping orientation should be carefully considered in the segmentation of the cosmetics market.

  • The field of marketing research in the satellite communication services is still in the early stage of its development. Particularly, in Korean domestic satellite service market, many theoretical and methodological opportunities now exist. In this paper we develop a model, which identifies target markets and promising application services in Korean satellite communication service Market. One key contribution of this paper is a modeling approach to the assessment of market potential and priorities of the application services in each Korean industry. We define and estimate the degree of attractiveness for each segmented market which represents the market potential estimated by current usage of terrestrial services and each market segment's willingness to adopt satellite technology. Since all possible satellite application services are not equally important in the market, they should be differentiated in terms of the likelihood of success. We introduce another index prioritizing application services by tying together three important factors affecting Korean satellite service demand. Some marketing implications of model results are also discussed. Finally the findings of our model are compared with those of other similar studies.

  • Housing market is segmented through 1) housing supply classified by housing characteristics and 2) housing demand classified by different housing opportunity of household. Moreover, neighborhood plays a role in intensifying housing market segmentation as a factor affecting on decision making relevant to housing supply and demand. while segmented housing markets have different mechanism, existing studies on residential differentiation and housing market have overlooked the characteristic differences among housing submarkets as the studies presume metropolitan housing market to be a single housing market. while the concept of 'residential differentiation' pays much attention on spatial pattern after the ecological approach appeared, the concept of ‘housing submarkets' is explanatory of the process of urban space structure formation. Analysis on housing submarkets makes up for the weak points of the behavioral approach inquiring into socio-economic constraint and different housing opportunity of household.

  • This study aimed to segment Chinese fisheries consumer market by means of cluster analysis based on Shanghai region consumers. The survey is conducted to 350 shanghai people on March 17-21 in 2014 and investigate demographic characteristics and consumer's behaviors unique to each segmented market by preference, labelling, quality, price, safety. The result of cluster analysis identified four market segments such as Catering type market, Worth pursuing type market, Substance pursuing type market, Trend pursuing type market. Catering type market is a passive fisheries consumption market and is not high attractive for Korea fisheries export market. Value pursuing type market consider importance to labelling, origin, brand and require high-quality and differentiation strategies. This market's main target species are high price fisheries such as tuna, salmon, crocker. Substance pursuing type market consider fisheries's safety and quality and purchases more popular fisheries such as crocker, hairtail, promfret, mackerel, squid. • The importance of market segmentation for success in marketing new products cannot be overemphasized. The benefits of new product segmentation are many, particularly when the proper conditions for product segmentation are met. The markets for the new product can be segmented according to demographic, geographic, psychological, and product-related variables and the use of market grids. To be ultimately useful in the successful marketing of the new product, the segmentations must be of sufficient size, related to the firm's capabilities, and quantifiable.
