  • Purpose Organizations invest significant portions of their budgets in fortifying information security. Nevertheless, the security threats by employees are still at large. We discuss methods to reduce security threats that are posed by employees in organization. This study finds antecedent factors that increases or decreases employee's compliance intention. Also, the study suggests organizations' security environmental factors which influences the antecedent factors of compliance intention. Design/methodology/approach The structural equation model is then applied in order to verify this research model and hypothesis. Data were collected on 415 employees working in organizations with an implemented information security policy in South Korea. We analyzed the fitness and validity of the research model via confirmatory factor analysis in order to verify the research hypothesis, then we analyzed structural model, and derived the result. Findings The result shows that organizational commitment and peer behavior increase security compliance intention of employees, while security system anxiety decreases compliance intention. And, organization's physical security system and security communication both have influence on antecedent factors for information security compliance of employees. Our findings help organizations to establish information security strategies that enhance employee security compliance intention.

  • The purpose of this study was to find about personal information security of internet and social networks by focusing on end users. User competence and subjective criterion, which are the antecedents, are affecting security behaviors For these security behaviors, the study examined the relationship between security behavior intention on internet use and security behavior intention about social network that is actively achieved in many fields. Behaviors of internet and social network were classified into an action of executing security and an action of using a security technology. In addition, this study investigated a theory about motivational factors of personal intention on a certain behavior based on theory of reasoned action in order to achieve the purpose of this study. A survey was conducted on 224 general individual users through online and offline, and the collected data was analyzed with SPSS 12.0 and SmartPLS 2.0 to verify demographic characteristics of respondents, exploratory factor analysis, and suitability of a study model. Interesting results were shown that security behavior intention of social network is not significant in all security behavior execution, which is security performance behavior, and security technology use. Internet security behavior is significant to security technology use but it does not have an effect on behavior execution.

  • Recently the interests in NII, CALS/EC, and security are rapidly increasing. However, only one of the security issues for CALS implementation, i.e., the security for EDI implementation, has been presented in the literature. No comprehensive discussion about CALS security including other CALS applications exists. This paper intends to present such a comprehensive analysis for the security requirements and standards for the well-recognized two-phase CALS implementation. We present a framework for CALS security encompassing security protocols and systems that are arranged into the framework in terms of the CALS implementation phases, application systems, and communication modes. This framework is followed by brief descriptions of the security services and mechanisms for each CALS application.

  • The supply chain security programs are designed to prevent terrorist attacks on world transit system, and to help protect the passengers and workers who use these systems on a daily basis. as evidenced by the train bombings in London and Madrid in recent years, the threats to America's transit systems are real. After 9 11 terrors in 2001, security problem is appearing to every nations and international organizations main pending issue than any problem and various countermeasure is prepared. Security is the major issue in international trade, with significant potential costs and economic impact. So, We need to ensure that supply chain security does not become a new non-tariffs barrier. The aim of this study is to examine the international maritime and aviation law on the supply chain security. Also I review the supply chain security in U.S. and other countries.

  • This study expands the current body of research by exploring multiple scenarios of insufficient and excessive IT security investments caused by interdependent risks and the interplay between IT security investments and cyber insurance. A key finding is that organizations experiencing interdependent risks with different types of cyber attacks (i.e., targeted and untargeted attacks) use different strategies in making IT security investment decisions and in purchasing cyber insurance policies for their information security risk management than firms that are facing independent risks. The study further provides an economic rationale for employing insurance mechanisms as a risk management solution for information security.

  • To establish an effective security strategy, business enterprises need a security benchmarking tool. The strategy helps to lessen an impact and a damage in any threat. This study analyses many aspects of information security management and suggests a way to deal with security investments by considering important factors that affect security manager's decision. To address the different threats resulting from a major cause of accidents inside an enterprise, we investigate an approach that followed ISO17799. We unfold a criminology theory that has designated many measures against the threat as suggested by General Deterrence Theory. The study proposes a coherent model of the theory to improve the security measures especially in handling and protecting company assets and human lives as well.

  • Medical information system based on ad hoc network designed for general information systems and information networks have different security requirements. Malicious code infiltration and security features are performed on same medical information network architecture along the route. Security domain of medical information systems is the ground of penetration and defense performed over the network architecture and it is also the traffic handling areas separated by a concept of differentiated group. Ad hoc-based medical information systems in the network security domain, set some standards about what should be the methodology of this study. In this paper, medical information system network configuration, the determining factor based on the security domain, the structure selection criteria and blocking positionings are presented according to the traffic route configuration. If you apply this methodology designed to increase security, efficiency can be possible. Health information systems in accordance with the security domain areas requires differentiated protection needs of the security mechanism that is proposed by this study.

  • With a remarkable growth and expansionof Internet, the security issues emerged from intrusions and attacks such as computer viruses, dental of servives and backings to destroy intormation have been considered as serious threats for Internet and the provate networks. To protect networks from those attacks, many nendors have developed various security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control systems. However managing those systems individually requres too much work and high cost. Thus, integrated security managemanet and eatabliashment of consistent security policy for various security products has become more important. In this paper, we propose integrated security manabement system called WISMSF(Web based Integrated Security Management System for Fireswalls) to monitor and contro various kinds of firewalls WISMSF consists of three components-clients, integrated engine, and agents. It supports the transparent management functions of security products, easy ways of defining security policies, and simple expansion of managed ranges.

  • In these days, security threat is ever increasing as computer systems and networking is everywhere. This paper is on the development of security scanner using search engine, with which site managers can easily check security vulnerability on their systems. Our security server automatically collects security-related information on the Internet, and indexes them in the database. To check the vulnerability of a customer server, the client system collects various system-specific information, and sends necessary queries to our security server for vulnerability checking. Up-to-date and site-specific vulnerability information is retrieved through the viewer, which allows the customer effectively to check and respond to security threat on client systems.
