가정용 지능형 경비 로봇 시스템 개발 (Development of an Intelligent Security Robot System for Home Surveillance)

  • A security robot system named EGIS-SR is a mobile security robot through one of the new growth engine project in robotic industries. It allows home surveillance through an autonomous mobile platform using onboard cameras and wireless security sensors. EGIS-SR has many sensors to allow autonomous navigation, hierarchical control architecture to handle lots of situations in monitoring home surveillance and mighty networks to achieve unmanned security services. EGIS-SR is tightly coupled with a networked security environment, where the information of the robot is remotely connected with the remote cockpit and patrol man. It achieved an intelligent unmanned security service. The robot is a two-wheeled mobile robot and has casters and suspension to overcome a doorsill. The dynamic motion is verified through $ADAMS^{TM}$ simulation. For the main controller, PXA270 based hardware platform based on linux kernel 2.6 is developed. In the linux platform, data handling for various sensors and the localization algorithm are performed. Also, a local path planning algorithm for object avoidance with ultrasonic sensors and localization using $StarGazer^{TM}$ is developed. Finally, for the automatic charging, a docking algorithm with infrared ray system is implemented.

  • Security robot has gradually developed and deployed in order to protect civilian's lives as well as fortune and subjugate the shortcomings of CCTV which lacks of mobility. We have developed a security robot for outdoor environment and the main purpose of the driving mechanism is to overcome the bumps or projections with high speed. The robot platform consists of 4 omnidirectional wheel-based driving mechanisms and suspension for each driving mechanism. In this paper, principal suspension parameters of outdoor security robot for overcoming obstacles with stability are studied and approximately optimized using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) since it is difficult to find the exact relationship between suspension parameters and the shock, which is significantly associated with stability of the robot, at the robot platform. Simulation using ADAMS is conducted for assessing the feasibility of optimized design parameters.

  • RUPI 기반 로봇 서비스는 다양한 성능을 지원하는 로봇과 서버간의 연동을 통해서 융통성과 확장성을 보장하는 로봇 기반 서비스를 제공한다. 높은 H/W 성능과 계산 능력을 보장하는 Rich-Client 로봇과 달리 Thin-Client 로봇은 제한된 성능만을 제공하기 때문에, 상대적으로 높은 연산량을 요구하는 보안 알고리즘을 수행하기에는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Thin-Client 로봇의 보안 위협과 요구사항, 및 보안 기능을 포함하는 Thin-Client 로봇 보안 프레임워크를 제안한다.

지능형 로봇에 대한 안전관리 발전방안 (Development Plan of Safety Management on Intelligent Robot)

  • 본 연구는 지능형 로봇에 대한 이해, 지능형 로봇의 위해성 분석, 지능형 로봇 안전관리 주요현황, 지능형 로봇 안전관리 추진방안 등을 통한 지능형 로봇 안전관리 발전방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 도출된 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지능형 로봇 개발 및 보급 촉진법, 시행령, 시행규칙 등 관련법규에 지능형 로봇의 안전관리를 실질적으로 규제할 수 있는 조항을 신설하거나 별도의 법규를 제정하고, 나아가 윤리 및 안전 관련법규에도 지능형 로봇에 대한 안전관리 관련조항을 신설하는 방안을 추진해야 한다. 둘째, 지능형 로봇에 대한 안전관리를 보장하기 위해 국가적, 국제적인 합의를 통한 '로봇윤리헌장'의 제정이 필요하다. 이와 병행해 인간과 로봇의 공존을 위한 로봇윤리헌장의 대국민 홍보를 통해 일반인들의 지능형 로봇에 대한 안전관리 의식을 유도하고 지능형 로봇의 권리에 대한 이해를 제고하여야 한다. 셋째, 경호경비 관련 업계 및 학계는 지능형 로봇이 경호경비산업에 미치는 중대한 영향을 인식하고 지능형 로봇에 대한 안전관리 및 그 활용방안을 모색하여야 한다. 군사 로봇, 보안 로봇 등 지능형 로봇의 운용, 관리뿐만 아니라 이로부터 인간을 안전하게 보호하는 것도 경호경비의 한 분야로 부각될 전망이므로 이에 대한 적극적인 논의와 대응이 필요하다.

  • 네트워크 로봇은 기존의 독립 로봇을 네트워크를 연결함으로써 서버와의 통신을 통해 언제 어디서나 다양한 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 네트워크 로봇은 기존의 유 무선 네트워크 기술을 그대로 사용하여 실시간 서비스를 제공할 수 있다는 장점이 있지만 네트워크 보안 취약점으로 인하여 보안 취약점 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 그러므로 네트워크 로봇 환경에서는 다양한 통신 매체나 프로토콜에 관계없이 보안 기능을 만족할 수 있는 인증 프레임워크가 정립되어야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 로봇 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 보안 취약점을 분석하고 이에 대한 대응방안을 정립한 후, 네트워크 로봇 환경에 적용할 수 있는 인증 프레임워크를 살펴보았다.

  • Mobile robots can offer services like intelligent monitoring in an indoor environment using network connection with remote users. In this paper, we designed and developed a networked security robot system with various sensors, such as flame detector, gas detector, sound monitoring module, and temperature sensor, etc. The robot can be accessed through a web service and the user can check the status of the environment. Using ADAMS software, we defined the motor specification for a worst-case condition of climbing over a obstacle. We applied the robot system in monitoring office condition.

  • We propose and develop Home Security robot system based on Sensor Network (HSSN) configured by sensor nodes including radio frequency (RF), ultrasonic, temperature, light and sound sensors. Our system can acknowledge security alarm events that are acquired by sensor nodes and relayed in the hop-by-hop transmission way. There are sensor network, Home Security Mobile Robot (HSMR) and Home Server(HS) in this system. In the experimental results of this system, we presented that our system has more enhanced performance of response to emergency context and more speedy and accurate path planning to target position for arriving an alarm zone with obstacle avoidance and acquiring the context-aware information.

Emergency Detection Method using Motion History Image for a Video-based Intelligent Security System

  • This paper proposed a method that detects emergency situations in a video stream using MHI (Motion History Image) and template matching for a video-based intelligent security system. The proposed method creates a MHI of each human object through image processing technique such as background removing based on GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model), labeling and accumulating the foreground images, then the obtained MHI is compared with the existing MHI templates for detecting an emergency situation. To evaluate the proposed emergency detection method, a set of experiments on the dataset of video clips captured from a security camera has been conducted. And we successfully detected emergency situations using the proposed method. In addition, the implemented system also provides MMS (Multimedia Message Service) so that a security manager can deal with the emergency situation appropriately.

  • Unmanned robots are very useful for autonomous security systems. These robots navigate autonomously move in a large area for surveillance. It is very important for robots that cover such a wide area to communicate with a control systems. Therefore, the control system needs various communication methods to check the status of the robot and send/receive messages. In addition, it is necessary to provide an easy interface for the user to send security mission commands to the robot. In this paper, we propose a control system based on a variety of communication techniques to perform security by safely communicating with a number of robots in a wide area space. The proposed system designed for considering user UI, data storage and management, and shows usability by constructing it in a real environment.

  • This paper introduces a graphical user interface design that is aimed to apply to the surveillance and security robot, which is the pilot program for the army unmanned light combat vehicle. It is essential to consider the activities of robot users under the changing security environment in order to design the efficient graphical user interface between user and robot to accomplish the designated mission. The proposed design approach firstly identifies the user activities to accomplish the mission in the standardized scenarios of military surveillance and security operation and then develops the hierarchy of the interface elements that are required to execute the tasks in the surveillance and security scenarios. The developed graphical user interface includes input control component, navigation component, information display component, and accordion and verified by the potential users from the various skilled levels with the military background. The assessment said that the newly developed user interface includes all the critical elements to execute the mission and is simpler and more intuitive compared to the legacy interface design that was more focused on the technical and functional information and informative to the system developing engineers rather than field users.
