  • The threat to information security is growing globally. To this, organizations are increasing the weight of adapting and operating the more specialized information security policy and system. Information security requires participation from the employees who execute the security system and policy, and to increase the level of organization's internal security, requires organization's systematic support to improve employees' information security compliance intention. This research finds the mechanism for improving employee's information security compliance intention by applying justice theory and goal setting theory in information security. We use structural equation modeling to verify the research hypothesis, and conducted a survey on the employees of organization with information security policy. In other words, this research performs verification of the research model based hypothesis which claims that security policy goal setting has positive influence on employee's level of security related justice recognition, and claims that justice has positive influence on compliance intention. The object of study is the employees of the organization that adapts information security policy, and 383 valid samples were collected via survey. Structural equation modeling was performed to verify the research hypothesis. The result shows that security policy goal factor (goal difficulty, goal specificity) improves employee's security related justice recognition, and that security related justice (distribution, process, and information justice) has positive influence on compliance intention. The result suggests the strategic approach directions for improving employees' compliance intention on organization's security policy.

In order to cope with problems, companies have established information security policies, demanding workers of a company to be compliant with the policies. This study proposes a research model that includes information security awareness, information security attitude, self-efficacy, standard belief and social influences as factors that affect the compliance of information security policy among the workers of shipping and port organization. The results of this study showed that there was a positive relationship not only between the information security awareness and the information security attitude, but also between the information security attitude and the information security policy among the workers of shipping and port organization. It was also found that there was a positive relationship between the self-efficacy and the compliance of information security policy, and between the social influence and the compliance of information security policy. However, there was no meaningful relationship between the standard belief and the compliance of information security policy. • Infringement of information security has caused the corporate image to be damaged and share price to fall, and it is emerging as an organizational risk. The value of information assets in enterprises has led to a higher level of security than in the past. As a result, companies are aware of the need for officers to protect information and to oversee a security management system. However, despite the growing importance of information security officers, there is a lack of research on their roles and characteristics. This study validates the relationship between determinants that affect the performance of information security. And a structural equation model was presented and empirically analyzed to see the impact of the internal and external characteristics of the staff in charge of information security on the organization's information security performance.

  • This study aims to examine organization members' intention to violate security policies based on the Person-Environment Fit Model. This study investigated the effect of the relationship between organizational security environment and the individual security value on the intention of organizational security policy violation. The security environments are classified into the organizational information security culture and peers' behavior of security compliance, while the personal values are classified into reconstructing the conduct, distorting the consequence, and devaluing the organization as presented in the moral disengagement theory. Based on the concept of the moral disengagement theory, we measured the individual security values as a second order factor. This study found that the information security culture had a statistically significant impact on devaluing the organization, but did not have as much impact on reconstructing the conduct and distorting the consequence. Peers' behavior of security compliance had a significant impact on reconstructing the conduct, distorting the consequence and devaluing the organization, all of which also had relevant impact on the organizational members' intention of security policy violation. This study measured a persons' perception on security policy breach by presenting scenarios of password sharing that is common in many organizations. This study is expected to make practical contributions, as it deals with challenges that many organizations are actually faced with.

  • Organizations rely on Secure ID resources today to handle vast amounts of information. Because the data can vary widely in type and in degree of sensitivity, employees need to be able to exercise flexibility in handling and protecting it. It would not be practical or cost-effective to require that all data be handled in the same manner or be subject to the same protection requirements. Without some degree of standardization, however inconsistencies can develop at introduce risks. Policy formulation is an important step toward standardization of security activities for ID resources. ID security policy is generally formulated from the input of many members of an organization, including security officials, line managers, and ID resource specialists. However, policy is ultimately approved and issued by the organization's senior management. In environments where employees feel inundated with policies, directives, guidelines and procedures, an ID security policy should be introduced in a manner that ensures that management's unqualified support is clear. The organization's policy is management's vehicle for emphasizing the commitment to ID security and making clear the expectations for employee involvement and accountability. This paper will discuss ID security Policy in terms of the different types (program-level and issue-specific), components, and Implementation of Expert System Simulation based on 4GL, PowerBuilder.
