This paper examines the international arbitrage pricing model (IAPM) in regional equity markets setting. Factor analyses are used to estimate the international common risk factors. And the cross-sectional regression analyses are used to test the validity of regional IAPMs and Chow tests are used to evaluate the integration of regional equity markets. The results of factor analyses show that the number of common factors in each regional group is seven. The cross-sectional regression results lead us not to reject that the IAPMs are regionally valid but Chow test results lead us to reject that regional equity markets are integrated.
The purposes of this study were to classify somatotype was obtained from the factor scores of the upper half of body and analyze the somatometric characteristics. The sample group was drawn from boys at the ages 9 to 10 living in Pusan and Kyungsangnam-do. Data from each boy comprised 36 anthropometric measurements and 7 photographic measurements. The study reached following conclusions. 1. According to the analysis to draw somatometric factors, seven indicative factors were obtained from measurements of the upper half of body. The most significant factor "sectional size" and the second most significant factor "longitudinal size" characterized most aspects of body shape. 2. According to the analysis of somatometric characteristics by the upper half of body, they were categorized into four types; Boys in type 1 had high stature, broadest shoulders, average frame, flattest chest and quite protruded shoulder blades and belly; boys in type 2 had shortest stature, smallest frame, most sloping shoulders and flattest shoulder blades and belly; boys in type 3 had quite corpulent with average stature, rising shoulders, most protruded chest and shoulder blades and belly of protrusion close to the average; boys in type 4 had highest stature, biggest frame, broad shoulders and back, and most protruded shoulder blades and belly.

Heat transfer and momentum transfer under conditions of both oscillating flow and oscillating pressure within pulse tubes show very different behavior from those for steady state conditions. The analytic solutions of axial velocity and temperature of the gas within pulse tubes were obtained by assuming that the variations in pressure and temperature were purely sinusoidal and small. The shear stress and the heat flux at the tube wall obtained from the solutions are expressed in terms of the cross-sectional averaged velocity, the difference between mean temperature and instantaneous cross-sectional averaged temperature and the difference between mean pressure and instantaneous pressure. It is shown that the complex shear factor, which has been applied to momentum transfer of incompressible oscillating flow, and the complex Nusselt number, which has been applied to either heat transfer with oscillating pressure only or heat transfer of incompressible oscillating flow, could also be used for momentum transfer and heat transfer subjected to both oscillating flow and oscillating pressure, respectively.
This paper examines the time-series relations among expected return, risk, and book-to-market(B/M) at the portfolio level. The time-series analysis is a natural alternative to cross-sectional regressions. An alternative feature of the time-series regressions is that they focus on changes in expected returns, not on average returns. Using the time-series analysis, we can directly test whether the three-factor model explains time-varying expected returns better than the characteristic-based model. These results should help distinguish between the risk and mispricing stories. We find that B/M is strongly associated with changes in risk, as measured by the Fama and French(1993) three-factor model. After controlling for changes in risk, B/M contains little additional information about expected returns. The evidence suggests that the three-factor model explains time-varying expected returns better than the characteristic-based model.
According to the variation of hydrostatic pressure on the central axis of deformable material, the V-shaped central bursting defect may be created in extrusion or drawing processes. The process factors which affect the generation of defects are semi-angle of die, reduction ratio of cross-sectional area, friction factor, material properties and so on. The combination of these factors can determine the possibility of defect creation and the shape of various round holes which have been created inside already. By the rigid plastic finite element method, this paper describes the observations of change in shape of round holes with process conditions such as semi-angle of die, reduction ratio of cross-sectional area and friction factor at the non-steady state of axisymmetrical extrusion process when the round hole is already existed inside the original billet. Also, the effects of process factors are investigated to prevent the possible defects.
Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) was used to study cross sectional profiles and dimensions of fatigue striations in 2017-T351 aluminum alloy. Their widths(SW) and heights (SH, SH(sub)h, SH(sub)ι) were measured from the cross sectional profiles of three-dimension AFM images. The following results that will be helpful to understand the fatigue crack growth mechanism were obtained. (1) The relation of SH=$\alpha$(SW)(sup)1.2 was obtained. (2) The ratio of the striation height to its width SH/SW, SH(sub)h/SW and SH(sub)ι/SW did not depend on the stress intensity factor range ΔK and the stress ratio R( =P(sub)min/P(sub)max = K(sub)min/K(sub)max). (3) Effect of precipitate on the morphology of striation was changed by the relative dimensional difference between the striation width SW and the precipitates. From these results, the applicability of the AFM to nano-fractography is discussed.
