승용차 시트용 폼의 진동전달율 최소화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Minimization of Transmissibility of Seat Foam in Passenger Vehicles)

  • One of the most important factor for the comfort of the passenger vehicles is the minimization of the compressible transmissibility during the running vehicles. Seat foam materials of I2 series(index 95 and the contents of isocyanate TDI was changed in percentages 75, 70, 65, 60, 50, 40) and DI series(density 50kg/$\textrm{m}^3$, index was changed 100, 95, 90) showed the significant differences in their transmissibility depended upon their chemical constitution such as index and contents of isocyanate TDI. The minimum trasmissibility of seat foam materials of I2 series was found from the materials with the contents of 65% isocyanate TDI and the index 95 at the frequency 4.79~5.31Hz. Also the minimum transmissibility of seat foam materials of DI series was found from the materials with the index 90 and the density of 50kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ at the frequency of 4.79~5.31Hz.

자동차용 시트 폼의 시간 의존적 거동 예측을 위한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis to Predict the Time-dependent Behavior of Automotive Seat Foam)

  • Generally, numerical approaches of evaluation for vehicle seat comfort have been studied without considering time-dependent characteristics and the only seating moment have been considered in seat design. However, the comfort not only at the seating moment but also in the long-term should be evaluated because the passengers are sitting repeatedly on the seat to drive the vehicle for hours. So, the aim of this paper is to carry out a quantitative evaluation of the time-dependent mechanical characteristics of seat foams and to suggest a process for predicting the viscoelastic deformation of seat foam in response to long-term driving. To characterize the seat materials, uniaxial compression and tension tests were carried out for the seat foam and stress relaxation tests were performed for evaluating the viscoelastic behavior of the seat foam. A unit solid element model was used to verify the reliability of the material model with respect to the compression behavior of the seat foam. It is not straightforward to evaluate the time-dependent compression of foams using the explicit solver because the viscoelastic material model is limited. To use the explicit solver, the material model must be modified using stress-degradation data. Normalized stress relaxation moduli were added to the stress-strain curves obtained under static conditions to achieve a time-dependent set of stress-strain relations that were compatible with the implicit solver. There was good agreement between the analysis results and experimental data.

DESIGN GUIDELINE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF DYNAMIC COMFORT OF A VEHICLE SEAT AND ITS APPLICATION

  • This study proposes an innovative design guideline to assist the evaluation and improvement of the dynamic comfort of vehicle seating. The existing evaluation method for the comfort of vehicle seating was investigated to broach problems in evaluation. It was found that the currently existing evaluation method employs the resonance frequency of the vibration system composed of the seat and the human body and the maximum vibration transmissibility. This study proposes a design guideline aimed at the enhancement of vibration transmission characteristics above the resonance range, particularly within the range of 10-18 Hz. In order to meet this guideline, a seat was constructed out of foam having a low damping coefficient. It was then installed in a vehicle for a driving test. The driving test confirmed the improvement of the dynamic comfort of the seat. The result of evaluation of the improved seat using the SEAT index, an industry standard widely used to evaluate the dynamic comfort of a seat considering the perceptivity characteristics of the human body, showed that the perceptive vibration transmission had reduced by more than $11\%$. The effect of the modification of seat foam was also verified through a subjective assessment of dynamic comfort of the seats.

  • In the development of automated driving, interest in the interior parts of vehicle is to become more significant in terms of the occupant safety and comfort. This study proposed an optimal design of front seat according to the design requirements for frame stiffness and seat comfort. For the seat comfort, the appropriate foam thickness was obtained using the structural analysis under reclined occupant loadings. While the strength and stiffness analyses were performed to evaluate the seat frame structure. Topology optimization was carried out based on the simulation results and the derived optimal model and baseline seat design was updated. The conceptual seat design for the autonomous vehicle in this study showed that the model development process is appropriate for the design parameters in both frame stiffness and seat comfort.

시트 동특성을 고려한 인체 진동 해석 (Human Body Vibration Analysis under Consideration of Seat Dynamic Characteristics)

  • 본 연구에서는 차량에 적용되는 시트 재질인 폴리우레탄 폼의 점탄성 특성을 고려하여 시트와 인체의 진동특성을 시험 및 수치해석 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 압축 시험을 통해 폴리우레탄 폼의 점탄성 특성인 비선형성과 준-정역학적 특성을 구하였다. 또한 컨벌루션 적분법 및 비선형 강성 모델을 이용하여 폴리우레탄 폼의 점탄성 특성을 수학적으로 모델링하였다. 시트의 승차감 기여도를 분석하기 위하여 시트의 동역학 모델과 ISO5982의 표준 인체 수직진동 모델을 이용하여 수직 진동모델을 구성하고 관련 운동방정식을 유도하였다. 비선형 운동방정식은 Runge-Kutta 적분법을 이용하여 수치해석 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 철도차량의 차체 바닥에서 측정한 진동가속도 입력에 대한 시트와 인체의 응답 특성을 분석하고 시트 설계 파라미터에 대한 승차감 지수 값들의 변화를 분석하여 시트 설계에 대한 방법론을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 폴리우레탄 발포체는 쿠션성이 뛰어나기 때문에 자동차 시트 쿠션으로 다양하게 사용이 되고 있다. 그 동안 시트 쿠션 발포체의 연구에 있어서 발포체 밀도를 낮추고자 하는 요구가 있어 왔으나, 최근에는 승차 안락감을 증대시키는 것이 더욱 중요시되고 있다. 승차 안락감과 관련하여 본 연구에서는 반발 탄성률 특성 및 히스테리시스 특성과 같은 정적물성을 조절하는 것에 관하여 연구하였다. 또한 승차 운전시 안락감 성능에 영향을 주는 매우 중요한 인자로 알려져 있는 진동 특성에 관하여 고찰하였다.

  • The purpose of the work is to improve comfort of a car seat, especially dynamic comfort which affects driver's discomfort during the long time driving. Definition of dynamic comfort was made before the investigation of which parameter affects seat comfort. In order to optimize design parameters so as to maximize seat comfort as well as to know the cause of discomfort, benchmarking on a target vehicle and competitive vehicles was performed, which showed both the vibration transmission characteristics and the compression set due to dynamic loading should be reduced. As a solution ball rebounds was increased by about 10% of the original foam, which showed reduction of S.E.A.T. value by 10% and of compression set by 60%.

  • The relationship between riding comfort and the properties of flexible polyurethane foam used in car seats was quantitatively illustrated through vibration experiments with humans sitting in car seats, which were vertically shaken by vibrator. Riding comfort was estimated according to SD (Semantic Differential)-method using questionnaire, and was analyzed with a factor analysis which demonstrated the principal factors of riding comfort. At the same time, riding comfort was related to the properties of the flexible polyurethane foam with coefficients of correlation. It was also related to the behaviour of its vibration of humans sitting in the seats. As a result, it was demonstrated that the relationship between riding comfort and the flexible polyurethane foam properties varies according to the frequency of the vibration shaking the human sitting in the seat. and it was demonstrated that the frequency dependence of the relationship is strongly affected by the physical changes of the vibration modes of the human-seat vibration system.

자동차 통풍 시트의 유량 평가 (Estimation of Air Flow Rate in Automotive Ventilated Seat)

  • 소비자들의 요구 증가로 고급차종에만 적용하던 통풍 시트는 점차 중소형 차종으로 확대 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 팬에서 발생한 유량이 폼 패드, 필터 폼 및 시트 커버 등을 통과하는 과정에서 많은 손실이 발생하기 때문에, 착좌면에 도달하는 유량의 정확한 해석은 쉽지 않다. 또한 유로 형상이 복잡하여 이의 정확한 모델링 없이는 착좌면에 도달하는 정확한 유량의 해석이 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 팬에서 발생한 유동이 통기 매트와 폼 패드를 통과하였을 때의 유량을 해석하였으며, 해석결과와 실험결과를 비교하였다. 해석에서 유동분산판 내부의 돌기 형상을 보다 정확하게 모델링함으로써, 해석결과와 실험결과의 경향을 정확하게 일치시킬 수 있었다. 유량이 통기성 재료인 패드 폼을 통과하는 과정에서 발생한 손실을 실험으로 측정하여 해석결과를 보정함으로써 해석결과와 실험결과를 정확하게 일치시킬 수 있었다. 다음으로 필터 폼과 시트 커버를 통과하여 착좌면에 도달하는 유량을 실험으로 측정하였다. 착좌면에서의 유량이 많지 않아서, 유량 콘을 사용하여 유량을 측정하였다. 팬에서 발생한 유량의 약 35.7%만이 최종적으로 착좌면에 도달하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

우르시올을 첨가한 자동차 시트용 항균 폴리우레탄 발포체 개발 (Development of Antimicrobial Polyurethane Foam for Automotive Seat Modified by Urushiol)

  • 천연 옻 나무에서 추출되는 항균물질 우르시올을 폴리우레탄 발포체 성형 시스템에 도입하여 항균 폴리우레탄 발포체를 제조하였다. 항균물질 우르시올 첨가량을 증가시키는 경우 발포체 성형 반응성이 약간 저하되는 것이 관찰되었으나 기계적 물성 측면에서는 항균물질 미처리 발포체와 비교하여 큰 물성저하는 관찰되지 않았다. 반면 항균성 측면에서는 항균물질 미처리 발포체에 비하여 초기 균수 대비 균수의 성장성이 감소되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
