수정된 광폭침목(MF-140 PSC 침목)의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Modified Wide Sleepers(MF-140 PSC Sleepers))

  • For performance evaluation of modified wide sleepers(MF-140 PSC sleepers), design moment for urban transit was calculated and then performance evaluation criteria were set up according to EN 13230-2. Next, static bend tests, dynamic tests at rail seat section of sleeper were carried out and static bend tests at center section of sleeper were fulfilled. The test results for modified wide sleepers were in excess of performance evaluation criteria and structural safety of sleepers was able to guaranteed from the results. As modifying depth of wide sleepers, construction convenience in underground will be expected to be improved and construction costs will be expected to be decreased.

  • The hyper-elastic material has been used gradually and its range was extended all over the industry. The performance prediction of hyper-elastic material was required not only experimental methods but also numerical methods. In this study, we presented the process how to use numerical method for hyper-elastic material and applied it to seat-ring of butterfly valve. The finite element analysis was executed to evaluate the mechanical characteristics of hyper-elastic material. And the optimum model considered conditions and features. According to that model, the load conditions were obtained by using CFD analysis.

  • One of the widely accepted methods for evaluating the interior sound quality of automobiles is Articulation Index(AI). The AI actually measures the articulation level of the sound in the vehicle cabin as passengers talk to one another. In this study, the effect of two different absorption materials inside the cabin on AI has been investigated by ray-tracing method : one is firewall, the other is celling. It turns out that the back seat location is found to be strongly dependent on the type of absorption materials treated at the celling, since the sound absorbing area is different due to the location and the firewall is situated in the "Reverberation Radius". The proposed methdo could be used to improve the sound quality of automobiles at the design stge.sign stge.

  • Traffic accidents involving agricultural machinery have been decreasing, but mortality is still high due to a lack of safety devices such as seat belts. Furthermore, secondary damage, such as abdominal impalement injury caused by loaded materials, is more likely to occur, and this type of injury leads to a poor prognosis. Impalement with pipes is often more fatal than other penetrating injuries because the diameter of the pipe is usually larger in size than other loaded materials. We report a case of a 72-year-old man with secondary abdominal impalement injury caused by a scaffolding pipe following a traffic accident.

승객 상해치 감소를 위한 측면 에어백의 역할 (Role of Side Impact Airbag in Order to Reduce Passenger Injury Value)

  • In order to reduce passenger injuries in side collisions, car makers are developing a side impact airbag system while Volvo has already adopted. This study examines dummy injury reduction effect of a side airbag system using full car side impact simulation according to FMVSS 214 test procedure. The simulation result without side airbag shows a good correlation with test data. The folded airbag simulation is carried out to check main design factors. Through the simulation with side airbag module integrated in the seat frame, it is found that the side airbag system provides a substantially enhanced protection for car occupants in side collisions.

  • Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluid is suspension of fine magnetic particles in a liquid carrier such as silicon oil or water. MR fluid exhibits solid-like mechanical behavior into chain or clusters with high yield stress when magnetic field is applied to the particles. The response of MR fluids is very quick and reversible after removal of the field. MR Fluids have high yield stress (up to 5kPs) and operate in low voltage power supply. Recently, MR damper using MR fluids was open used in vibration control system such as structural devices, seat vibration controllers and helicopter rotor systems, but it is too big in size and heavy. Therefore, it is not appreciate to rehabilitation devices such as prosthetic limbs.

  • We used a three-dimensional motion capture method to measure the grasping reach of Korean. This method was applied well to the grasping reach measurement with low measurement error and high efficiency. We measured the grasping reach of 29 males and 21 females at the different height from seat reference level; -10, 0, 30, 60, and 90cm. The grasping reach data were summarized at each 15 .deg. in polar corrdinates to compare with the former researches. If the number of subjects increases in the supplement research, the grasping reach data will be used in the ergonomic design of the driver's cabin or workstations in industry.

  • Various adjustment devices which present automobile uses electric motion motor of reducer built-in type for user's convenience are increasing. The example are seat control motor, sunroof motor, power windows motor etc. To get low noise, high effectiveness special quality in automobile DC motor of reducer built-in type, reducer department's transmission efficiency and noise, vibration quality are very important. The reducer used to DC motor of automobile reducer built-in type use worm gear for enough torque and proper number of rotation. We need optimization design technology of deceleration module including worm gear and housing for reducer development that have special quality of good quality.

메카넘 바퀴를 적용한 리프팅 휠체어의 설계 및 제작에 관한 연구 (The Study on Designing and Making Power Lifting Wheelchair using Mecanum Wheels)

  • We reported the design, prototype, test drive, and mechanical & electrical engineering analyses of a power-lifting wheelchair using mecanum wheels. Mecanum wheels enable translational and rotational movement of the device in any direction on the ground. The power-lifting capability enables the seated individual to reach the standing height of a non-disabled individual. This mecanum wheelchair is fully controlled by the joystick attached to the armrest. The motion of the wheelchair and lifting action of the seat were studied using statics and dynamics. We believe this mecanum wheelchair is a prime candidate for commercial production.
