Objective : We try to find out the literature and clinical evidences of seasonal formula through the analysis of the addition and subtraction of medical herbs in the formula according to the season. Method : In this study, we analyzed 122 seasonal prescriptions from "Dong-uibogam(東醫寶鑑)", "Bang-yakhappyeon(方藥合編)", "Jeongchijunsueng(證治準繩)", "Dangyesimbeop(丹溪心法)", "Uihakimmun(醫學入門)", "Uihakjeongjeon(醫學正傳)", "Gyeong-akjeonseo(景岳全書)" and "Taepyeonghyeminhwajegukbang(太平惠民和劑局方)". Results : In spring, pungent-warm herbs such as the dried rhizome of cnidium officinale Makino, the dried root of SEdebouriella divaricata (Turcz.) Schischk. are used. In summer, bitter-cold such as the dried root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, the dried rhizome of Coptis chinensis Franch. or pungent herbs such as the dried aerial part of Elsholtzia splendens Nakai, the dried ripe seed of Dolichos lablab L. are added. In fall and winter, pungent-bitter-hot herbs such as the dried ripe fruit of Evodia rutaecarpa Benth., the dried rhirome of Zingiber officinale Rosc. are used. Conclusions : In this paper, we have shown that several medical herbs could be added and subtracted in the formula according to the season because they have the seasonal characteristic Gi or treat seasonal pathogens.

The objective of this study is to derive a shrinkage correction formula that considers temperature effect and to develop a methodology for the improved prediction of the long-term behavior of the FCM bridges by considering seasonal temperature variations in-situ. Thereby, current formulation were performed by using the actual experimental shrinkage data including seasonal temperature variation. The investigation of the long-term behavior of the FCM bridge was performed on the construction site in order to decide applicability of the shrinkage formula Numerical results by the general method indicates inaccurate values of total strain when considering real strain, whereas the applied method demonstrates a good agreement in the resultant strain. In consequently, the applied method will improve the prediction of the long-term deformation of the FCM Bridges.
The traffic accidents in large cities such as Pusan metropolitan city have been increased every year due to increasing of vehicles numbers as well as the gravitation of the population. In addition to the carelessness of drivers, many meteorological factors have a great influence on the traffic accidents. Especially, the number of traffic accidents is governed by precipitation, visibility, cloud amounts temperature, etc. In this study, we have analyzed various data of meteorological factors from 1992 to 1997 and determined the standardized values for contributing to each traffic accident. Using the relationship between meteorological factors(visibility, precipitation, relative humidity and cloud amounts) and the total automobile mishaps, and experimental prediction formula for their traffic accident rates was seasonally obtained at Pusan city in 1997. Therefore, these prediction formulas at each meteorological factor may by used to predict the seasonal traffic accident numbers and contributed to estimate the variation of its value according to the weather condition it Pusan city.
A simple regression formula for estimating the lake evaporation rate from the copper-plated pan (diameter 20cm, height 10cm) is derived. A comparison with other formulae indicates that the formula is more accurate than others. An annual map of man evaporation in Korean peninsula has been prepared using the relation. It demonstrates the areal average distribution of mean annual evaporation from a free water surface with no heat storage effect and avected energy owing to differences in the temperature of in-and outflow. The mean annual ratio of the lake to the copper-plated pan evaporation is found to be 0.64. The ratio varies with local conditions from 0.62 to 0.66, and hence it can be considered fairly uniform. However the seasonal variation of the ratio appears to be rather significant. It changes from the lowest of 0.61 to the highest of 0.75.

In this research, multiple corrosion factors of buried environments were measured in order to establish a formula for the corrosion character of corrugated steel structures in domestic environments. By substituting corrosion factors for each predicting formula, the durable lifetime was measured, and the measured lifetime was compared with the estimated lifetime by applying existing thickness-measuring techniques. A new usage standard was proposed with these results, in order to create the conclusion below. There are known differences in the soil factors used as variables in estimating the duration caused by the seasonal effects of rainfall and temperature. Comparing the durable lifetime estimated by each predicting formula, the findings show that the California technique is conservative. This study demonstrates that the error range of the AISI technique, which is mostly used as a duration technique, is a very narrow predicting technique as compared with many other countries. Considering that there is on average, a 13% error margin in this study, a proposed safety factor of 0.87 could be used to more accurately predict the duration. The laying time in the California technique is not longer than the whole durability, and as a result, this error margin exists. It is concluded that this study on the open area has been overdue. Based on these findings, it's proposed that this error margin should be applied to the domestic environment through periodic observation, in order to establish the predicting techniques of durable lifetime.
The purpose of this study is to classify the characteristics of color communication tools and the color range applied in the Korean fashion industry. To collect the color sample and related references, a questionnaire was distributed during the time period, December, 1995 to June, 1996. From the responses, 2641 color samples used by 109 domestic brands, from 1993 spring/summer to 1996 spring/summer, were collected and analyzed. The data was measured by L*a*b*, and the H V/C formula found in the Munsell notation was used to calculate the data. To classify the color range served for the fashion industry, the distribution of colors are analyzed by difference of season and fabric. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Dominant colors in the Korean fashion industry are Red, Yellow-red, Yellow, purple-blue and low chromatic range colors. 2. While high value colors, such as pale, light greyish, light, dull, dark and vivid tone colors, are dominant in the spring/summer season, low value colors, such as greyish, dark greyish. and deep tone colors and warm colors such as Red, Yellow-red, are prevalent in the fall/winter season. 3. The number of colors commonly used for color planning is less than 20 colors, and both hue and tone are considered important when making color selections. 4. All brands take consumers' color preferences into consideration for color planning, and most of them also take color trends into account. 5. Hue and tone color characteristics analyzed by types of fabrics show more seasonal influence than the fabric itself.
This study considered the rite of passage ceremonial food in the Mid-Choseon Period through the rite of passage ceremonies, food, and ingredients recorded in the Seoul Noble Ohhweemun Family Diary Shaemirok. The research used a contents analysis method through case studies. The noble families in the Mid-Choseon Period deemed the Jerye to be the most significant out of the traditional ceremonies. The nobles practiced the Sadehbongsah and the Yoonhweebongsah ceremonies for their ancestors. The Rite of passage ceremony required fruit. Of fish and birds, pheasants were used frequently during the ceremonies. Noble families, specifically the richer families, could sustainably normalize the rite of passage ceremonies against the elements. Seasonal ingredients were generally harvested even during spring and winter in large amounts. One of the last rites of passage food by Garye displayed diverse ingredients, such as Bangaeng, Myun, Tang, Uhyookjuk, Poe, Chae, Hae, and Silgwa. Such ingredients prove that the normalization of rite of passage ceremony food was well established and practiced. On the other hand, the birthday rite of passage food did not conform to a specific rite of passage normalcy or preparation. Instead, the birthday food showed a flexible menu of seasonal delicacies that were not confined to a particular traditional formula.

Usage of ecosystem models has been extended to landscape scales for understanding the effects of environmental factors on natural and agro-ecosystems and for serving as their management decision tools. Accurate prediction of spatial variation in daily temperature is required for most ecosystem models to be applied to landscape scales. There are relatively few empirical evaluations of landscape-scale temperature prediction techniques in mountainous terrain such as Korean Peninsula. We derived a periodic function of seasonal lapse rate fluctuation from analysis of elevation effects on daily temperatures. Observed daily maximum and minimum temperature data at 63 standard stations in 1999 were regressed to the latitude, longitude, distance from the nearest coastline and altitude of the stations, and the optimum models with $r^2$ of 0.65 and above were selected. Partial regression coefficients for the altitude variable were plotted against day of year, and a numerical formula was determined for simulating the seasonal trend of daily lapse rate, i.e., partial regression coefficients. The formula in conjunction with an inverse distance weighted interpolation scheme was applied to predict daily temperatures at 267 sites, where observation data are available, on randomly selected dates for winter, spring and summer in 2000. The estimation errors were smaller and more consistent than the inverse distance weighting plus mean annual lapse rate scheme. We conclude that this method is simple and accurate enough to be used as an operational temperature interpolation scheme at landscape scale in Korea and should be applicable to elsewhere.
When it comes to these buildings for business use, cooling load during summertime was reported to have great importance which, as a result, impressively increased interest in Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). Such SHGC is considered to be lowered with the help of colors and functions of glass itself, internal shading devices, insulation films and others but basically, these external shading devices for initial blocking that would not allow solar heat to come in from outside the buildings are determined to be most effective. Of many different external shading devices, this thesis conducted an analysis on Exterior Venetian Blind. As for vertical shading devices, previous researches already calculated SHGC conveniently using concepts of sky-opening ratios. However in terms of the Venetian Blind, such correlation is not possibly applied. In light of that, in order to extract a valid correlation, this study first introduced a concept called shape factor, which would use the breadth and a space of a shade, before carrying out the analysis. As a consequence, the concept helped this study to find a very similar correlation. Results of the analysis are summarized as follows. (1) Regarding SHGC depending on the surface reflectance of a shade, an average of 2% error is observed and yet, the figure can always be ignored when it comes to a simple calculation. (2) As for SHGC of each bearing, this study noticed deviations of 4% or less and in the end, it is confirmed that extraction can be achieved with no more than one correlation formula. (3) When only the shape factor and nothing else is used for finding a correlation formula, the formula with a deviation of approximately 5% or less is what one would expect. (4) Since the study observed slight differences in bearings depending on ranges of the shape factors, it needed to extract a weighted value of each bearing, and learned that the smaller the shape factor, the wider the range of a weighted value. The study now suggests that a follow-up research to extract a simple calculation formula by dealing with all these various inclined angles of shade, solar radiation conditions of each region (the ratio of diffuse radiation to direct radiation and others) as well as seasonal features should be carried out.
Seasonal variation of algae distribution were studied in the Chuam reservoir from August 1996 to July 1997. As a result, 127 taxa were observed, representing 6 classes, 14 orders, 5 suborders, 29 families, 2 subfamilies, 54 genus, 118 species, 7 variaties and 2 formula. The majors of them are Chlorophyceae (59 taxa), Bacillariophyceae(39 taxa) and Cyanophyceae(20 taxa). The number of species was that 35 and 31 taxa were occurred in August 1996 and April 1997, 11 and 17 taxa in July 1997 and October 1996 respectively at Dam station, 53 taxa were occurred in September, 18 taxa in November at Munduck station. The biomass composition of occurrence species were as fallowes; Cyanophyceae are 80%, Bacillariophyceae 14% and Chlorophyceae 5% at Dam station and Cyanophyceae are 90%, Bacillariophyceae 1.3% and Chlorophyceae 0.4% at Munduck at Munduk station. At Munduk station, water bloom occurred by Cyanophyceae(99.9%, 3.7 $\times$ 10$^{7}$ cells/L) in November 1996 and the major causing algae was Microcrystis aeruginosa. Microcystis aeruginosa was dominant species (dominant index : 0.72 - 0.99) during summer and autumn, Fragilaria crotonensis and Asterionella formasa (DI : 0.33 - 0.74) during winter and spring. The water quality factors of the Chuam reservoir were that the values of water temperature ranged of 3.6 - 31.4$\circ$C, pH 6.7 - 9.0, conductivity 69.6-118.2 $\mu $s/cm, and turbidity 1.0-22.5 NTU, and the proper temperature of water for algae growth was 15 and 16.7$\circ $C in April and November. Also the concentration of dissolved oxygen(DO) ranged of 6.8-15.5mg/L, total nitrogen(T-N) 0.54-1.78 mg/L, total phosphrous (T-P) 0.003-0.034 mg/L, and chlorophyll-a 0.9-23.2mg/m$^{3}$. The concentration of Chlorophyll-a was in inverse proportion T-N/T-P ratio.
