  • This research's main objective was to analyze the special qualities of food culture of the Main Family in Chung-Buk through a case study on the diversified types of meals that the Main Family cooked, such as courtesy food, normal food, and seasonal food. The research identifies traditional ingredients of specialties from Chung-Buk through old literature. According to "Sejongsillokjiriji", there are a myriad of ingredients:, including jujube, ginseng, pine mushroom, manna lichen, persimmon, mandarin fish, crab, sweetfish, lacquer, honey, and terrapin, which represent Chung-Buk's unique ingredients. Another reliable source, "Banchandungsok", does not provide a detailed list of traditional foods, but rather a simple list. The majority of food from Chung-Buk, in "Banchandungsok", consist of side dishes like kimchi and salt greens. Eventually, salt greens became diversified. As Chung-Buk is a landlocked province, people often used dried pollack. Kimchi and raw coaker were frequently used as well, and rice cakes encompassed multiple ingredients such as: jujube, mushroom, pine nut, and, dried persimmon. There were distinct differences in the diversity of food and amount of dishes used by the Main Families of Chung-Buk dependent on the ingredients and wealth of each Main Family. Chung-Buk has a landscape full of mountains, so potatoes were abundant and used to make potato Dasik. When cooking process was completed, people placed kelp on to the finished product. Seasonal foods were considered very important, especially on special occasions such as Backjoong, which was a day dedicated to laborers. These foodsprovided a good opportunity for the community to build stronger bonds by sharing rice cake and Yukgaejang with other members of the community. It is apparent that "Jeobbingac" culture, or guest culture, flourished since people in Chung-Buk are traditionally taught to leave spare food for the guest at all times.

  • Despite of the same species there is a difference in the tree shape and its wood property due to quantitatiVe and qualitatiVe differences in wood cells by the intra-annual cambial actiVity. The purpose of this study was to proVide the fundamental database of intra-annual cambial seasonal actiVity for red pine in Sokwang-ri and Anmyondo for the determination of their wood qualities. As the results of intra-annual cambial actiVity, the initiation of cambial actiVity of red pine in the plots with Age Class V in Sokwang-ri was in the middle of April and it was at the beginning of April in all plots in Anmyondo. Only the plots with Age Class IX in Sokwang-ri showed relatiVely late initiation of cambial actiVity as between middle of May and middle of June. Except one plot with Age Class IX in Sokwang-ri all plots in both sites showed the same cessation of cambial actiVity as between middle and end of October. According to intra-annual cambial actiVity, the duration of cambial actiVity in Sokwang-ri is shorter than that of Anmyondo. On the other hand, the number of cell diVision of cambial actiVity in Sokwang-ri was more than those of Anmyondo. We could establish the database for intra-annual cambial actiVity for Sokwang-ri and Anmyondo to estimate their wood quality.

  • Recently, United States Geological Survey (USGS) distributed Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level 2 Science Product (L2SP). This paper aims to derive land surface temperature from L2SP and to validate it. Validation is made by comparing the land surface temperature with the one calculated from Landsat 8 Collection 1 Level 1 Terrain Precision (L1TP) and the one from Automated Synoptic Observing System (ASOS). L2SP is calculated from Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level 1 data and it provides land surface temperature to users without processing surface reflectance data. Landsat 8 data from 2018 to 2020 is collected and ground sensor data from eight sites of ASOS are used to evaluate L2SP land surface temperature data. To compare ground sensor data with remotely sensed data, 3×3 grid area data near ASOS station is used. As a result of analysis with ASOS data, L2SP and L1TP land surface temperature shows Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.971 and 0.964, respectively. RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) of two results with ASOS data is 4.029℃, 5.247℃ respectively. This result suggests that L2SP data is more adequate to acquire land surface temperature than L1TP. If seasonal difference and geometric features such as slope are considered, the result would improve.

  • This study examined the trend and aesthetic value of image fashion of the 21st century through empirical case study with image media as fashion communication tool. This research is intended to provide the basic material for both better comprehension of image fashion as emotional medium in the modern fashion and more activated research on interactivity and communication in the fashion communication area by examining how fashion designers deliver their design philosophy, thought and vision via image fashion. For the research method, the theoretical study was realized about image media and fashion communication with focus on related literature and precedent research. Also, the empirical study was performed about image fashion covering 2005 through 2012 by the group of fashion film, fashion animation, and video look-book. Fashion image in the research was developed into various layouts that include the story based or non-story based creative images, many kinds of episode or behind-the-scenes story in the prep course of collection, designer's personal life or product world, or re-cutting course after collection. It also played a communicative role for public relation of new product ad, concept conveyance of seasonal collections, means as online collection to substitute for the existing offline collections, and better understandings of designer or fashion brand. Aesthetic values derived from case analysis of image fashion in the modern fashion of 21st century appeared in the form of trans-boundary as convergence art, fantasy in harmony with virtuality and reality, and interactivity among the humans, image media and fashions.

  • A high quality, long-term, high-resolution precipitation dataset is an essential in climate analyses and global water cycles. Rainfall data from station observations are inadequate over many parts of the world, especially North Korea, due to non-existent observation networks, or limited reporting of gauge observations. As a result, satellite-based rainfall estimates have been used as an alternative as a supplement to station observations. The Climate Hazards Group Infrared Precipitation (CHIRP) and CHIRP combined with station observations (CHIRPS) are recently produced satellite-based rainfall products with relatively high spatial and temporal resolutions and global coverage. CHIRPS is a global precipitation product and is made available at daily to seasonal time scales with a spatial resolution of 0.05° and a 1981 to near real-time period of record. In this study, we analyze the applicability of CHIRPS data on the Korean Peninsula by supplementing the lack of precipitation data of North Korea. We compared the daily precipitation estimates from CHIRPS with 81 rain gauges across Korea using several statistical metrics in the long-term period of 1981-2017. To summarize the results, the CHIRPS product for the Korean Peninsula was shown an acceptable performance when it is used for hydrological applications based on monthly rainfall amounts. Overall, this study concludes that CHIRPS can be a valuable complement to gauge precipitation data for estimating precipitation and climate, hydrological application, for example, drought monitoring in this region.

  • Fexofenadine, one of selective histamine $H_1$ receptor antagonists, has been used for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. The bioequivalence of two fexofenadine hydrochloride preparations, containing 120 mg fexofenadine hydrochloride, was evaluated according to the guidelines of Korea Food & Drug Administration(KFDA). The test product was Hanmi Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablet $120mg^{(R)}$ made by Hanmi Pharm. Co. and the reference product was Allegra Tablet $120mg^{(R)}$ made by Handok Parmaceuticals Co.. Twenty healthy male subjects were randomly divided into two groups and a $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After one tablet was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of fexofenadine in plasma was determined using a validated HPLC method with fluorescence detector. Two pharmacokinetic parameters, $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$, were calculated and analyzed statistically for the evaluation of bioequivalence of the two products. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed parameter values. The 90% confidence intervals of $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$ were log $0.844{\sim}log$ 1.149 and log $0.833{\sim}log$ 1.109, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log 0.8 to log 1.25. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating that Hanmi Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablet 120 mg is bioequivalent to Allegra Tablet 120 mg.

  • This study aimed to develop a new commercialization model for theindustrialization of head family food as a gentry families' complex food culture product. We tried to develop a head family food and propose a city sightseeing style's head family product by interviews with 'Hakindang' as the center, the head house of the Suwon Baek clan, and Injaegong group in Jeonjoo. Hakindang (in Jeonju) was confirmed as an improved model Korean-style house in the enlightenment period and the twentieth style modern head family as emerging capitalist. Hakindangsupported independence war funds in the Japanese colonial era and was widely known as gate of filial piety in Jeonju. Representative seasonal foods of Hakindang include pan-fried sweet rice cake with flower petals in the spring, hot spicy meat stew and polypus variabilis in summer, hanchae in autumn, and napa cabbage kimchi with salted flatfish seafood in the winter. When parents-in-law had a birthday, there were party noodles, sliced abalone stuffed with pine nuts, brass chafing dish, fish eggs, slices of blilde meat, and matnaji. Daily, there were mainly salted seafood, slices of raw fish, grilled short rib patties, braised fish, baked fish, syruped chestnut, grilled deodeok root, bean sprouts, radish preserved with salt, dongchimi, soy sauce-marinated horseshoe crab, butterbur, perilla seed stew, salted clams, raw bamboo shoot, agar, fried kelp, etc. The most basic virtue of the head family is filial duty, and they developed mosim dining as a representative food of Hakingdang's head family. The mosim menu is composed of 65% carbohydrates, 20% protein, and 15% fat because it is table for parents-in-law like more than 75 years old. The sensory evaluation showed a chewy texture that is easily swallowed.

  • New types of fire accidents appear or the existing types disappeared because of rapidly changing society. We proposed a methodology of extracting new nouns from fire investigation data each of which is an accident report producted by fire investigators. The new nouns could be used in modifying the existing categories for classifying fire accidents. We analysed morphology of the product names and the ignition summaries using the proposed method for the fire accidents classified as the etc sub-category of the category of equipments involved in ignition. In this paper, we found "dryer" as a new sub-category of the agricultural equipment category and "boiler" in the seasonal appliance category from the product names of the fire accidents. We also extracted the new input keywords of "aquarium" and "monitor" in the commercial facilities category and the video, audio apparatus category from the ignition summaries respectively. Using the four subcategories, we reclassified 548 (14.39%) of 3,808 fire accidents assigned to the etc sub-category.

  • The purposes of the study are two-folds. First, it analyzes how factors other than price(e.g. delivery service, saving point policies, free gifts) impact total price for various products and different types of stores. Second, it analyzes how to increase market efficiencies through price level, price differences, and the frequency of price changes for different shops, various products and different types of transactions. By analyzing the price level within different types of stores, there found that prices at on-line store were lower than off-line shops. It also found price differences between pure on-line, hybrid, and off-line store. Comparing prices by product size, there found that pure on-line shops have a lower price compared to others. The results showed that on-line store had lower price variation compared to off-line shops. When comparing pure on-line store to hybrid store, hybrid store had lower price variation. In terms of the frequency of price changes, hybrid stores had higher price fluctuations. In terms of total price differences for delivery distances, pure on-line store had great price fluctuation, excluding cosmetic goods. In conclusion, if we consider price level and price fluctuations, on-line store had more efficiencies and was superior in terms of price effectiveness. Hybrid shops, on the other hand, had greater advantages for seasonal goods and dominant products. Therefore, market entry strategies should differ based on order quantity, type of store(pure on-line, hybrid, off-line), product characteristics(seasonality, product life), etc.
