각종 근관충전법의 치근단 폐쇄효과에 관한 연구 (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE SEALING ABILITY OF DIFFERENT ROOT CANAL OBTURATION METHODS)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sealing ability of five obturation methods in conjunction with sealer. Fifty extracted upper and lower anterior teeth were selected and the access cavities were prepared lingually with a round bur. The working length was determined with a #15K file, and the root canals were instrumented with a #40K file 1mm short of the apical foramen. The apical third of root canal was flared by step-back technique and the coronal two thirds of root canal using #2 - 3 Gates Glidden drills. And then, the teeth were randomly assigned to five groups of 10 teeth each. A thin coat of Tubliseal was placed into the canal into the canal using the # 35 reamer and the canals were filled by lateral condensation, vertical condensation, ultrasonic activated lateral condensation, ULTRAFIL injecting, and McSpadden compaction methods. All teeth were stored in 100 % relative humidity at 31c for 48 hours. The roots were suspended in 2 % methylene blue solution for 48 hours, left to dry for 24 hours and then, half side of root was removed longitudinally using the fissure bur. A Boley gauge wes used to measure the distance, to the nearest 0.1mm, from the apical foramen to the most coronal level of dye penetration. The measurement of dye penetration was statistically compared by Duncan's multiple range test The results were as follows 1. Ultrasonic group showed the best sealing ability among the all experimental groups, but there were statistically no significant difference in the sealing ability between ultrasonic group and vertical condensation group. 2. There were no statistically significant difference in the sealing ability among the lateral, vertical, and ultrasonic groups. 3. McSpadden group showed the worst sealing ability among the all exprimental groups.

LPG 용기용 밸브패킹의 누설안전에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on the Sealing Safety of a Valve Packing in a LPG Cylinder)

  • 본 본문에서는 LPG 용기용 밸브의 개폐과정에서 발생하는 밸브패킹과 밸브시트의 상대접촉 마찰작용에 따른 밀봉성에 대한 FEM 해석결과를 제시하고 있다. 개폐용 밸브의 밀봉작용은 나일론-66으로 제조한 디스크 형상의 밸브패킹이 원형 파이프의 밸브시트 단면을 막아 LP 가스의 외부 송출을 차단하면서 완료된다. 밸브패킹은 밸브시트에 대하여 평면으로 접촉밀봉을 하는 경우와 원형홈의 둥근접촉 형상에 대한 밀봉 압착력을 확보하는 두 가지가 있다. FEM 해석 및 실험적 연구결과에 의하면, 밸브패킹을 사용하기 이전의 평면접촉 밀봉 작용력은 4.9 MPa로 높지만, 밸브를 사용한 이후의 원형홈 접촉 밀봉력은 4.4 MPa로 약간 낮게 나타났다. 그러나 이들 최대응력은 나일론 소재의 항복응력 83 MPa에 비하여 대단히 낮은 값이기 때문에 현재의 개폐밸브용 패킹은 과도하게 설계되었다 할 수 있다.

V홈을 갖는 오링의 밀봉거동과 내구 안전성에 관한 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis on the Sealing Behavior and Endurance Safety of O-rings with a V-groove)

  • 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석법을 사용하여 V홈 오링의 밀봉거동과 내구 안전성에 관련된 변형률, 응력, 접촉법선응력 해석결과를 제시하고 있다. 밀봉거동과 내구 안전성에 관한 FEM 해석결과에 의하면, V홈 형상을 갖는 오링에 작용하는 최대변형률, 최대압축응력, 최대접촉법선응력은 기존의 오링에 비해 약 1.2배나 더 높게 나타났다. 이것은 오링이 두 개의 원형을 겹치도록 형성된 중간부에 V홈을 넣었기 때문에 가능한 것으로 판단되고, V홈 오링은 볼밸브, 압력용기, 가스기기의 밀봉을 하는데 매우 유용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 그리고, V홈 오링에서 가스압력을 높여도 압출에 의한 파손현상이 발생되지 않았는데, 이것은 V홈이 형성되어 있기 때문이다. 따라서, V홈 오링은 기존 오링에 비해 밀봉수명을 연장시킬 수 있다.

양극산화 후 실링처리된 알루미늄 합금의 해수 내 내식성과 캐비테이션 침식 저항성 평가 (Evaluation of Corrosion and Cavitation Erosion Resistance of Sealed Aluminum Alloy after Anodizing Treatment in Seawater)

  • Various sealing techniques were applied to the anodized 5083 aluminum alloy for marine environment to reduce corrosion and cavitation erosion damage. Electrochemical experiments and cavitation erosion tests were conducted to evaluate the corrosion resistance and cavitation resistance of the anodic oxide film treated with sealing in natural seawater solution. Then, damaged surface morphology was analyzed by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and 3D microscope. As the results of the electrochemical experiments, it was observed that the surface damage of all the experimental conditions in the anodic polarization experiment was locally grown by the combination of crack and corrosion damage. In the Tafel analysis, the corrosion resistance of all sealing treatment conditions was improved compared to the anodizing. On the other hand, cavitation erosion tests showed that the anodizing and all the sealing treatment conditions generated local pit damage by cavitation erosion attack and grew to crater damage in the observation of damaged surface by SEM. Also, the weight loss and the surface damage depth measured with the experiment time presented that most of the sealing treatment conditions showed better cavitation erosion resistance than the anodizing, and they had an incubation period at the beginning of the experiment.

노후 콘크리트 포장 절삭 덧씌우기의 침투수에 의한 파손 최소화 방안 연구 (A Study on the Minimization of Water Damage for the Asphalt Inlay of Old Concrete Pavement)

  • PURPOSES: The purpose of this study was to investigate the disintegration mechanism of concrete due to the infiltration of the moisture to the milling overlay pavement and to come up with a method to minimize the disintegration as well as verifying the effectiveness of the edge sealing and Fogseal method. METHODS : This study investigated the distress mechanism due to the infiltrated moisture remaining in the milling overlay pavement through chloride freezing test and verified the effectiveness of the sealing of the milling edge and fog seal methods, which have been devised to minimize the moisture infiltration, through laboratory water permeability test. Additionally, long-term pavement performance was compared for the effectiveness of the proposed method through under loading test, and field water permeability test was carried out to verify the field applicability of the proposed method. RESULTS: The result of the research confirmed that chloride deteriorates the concrete surface through disintegration and lowers its strength and that the laboratory moisture infiltration test verified the effectiveness of the milling edge sealing and fog seal methods in the deterrence of moisture infiltration to the overlay pavement with excellent long-term performance of the pavement treated with the proposed method. Although the field water permeability test revealed some deterrence of moisture infiltration of the milling edge sealing and fog seal methods to a certain extent, the difference was a little. CONCLUSIONS: The milling edge sealing and fog seal methods are limited in their effectiveness for the cases of improvident compaction management or mixture with large void, and it is believed that installation of subsurface drainage is more effective in these cases.

도로면 크랙실링 자동화 장비의 최적 경로계획 알고리즘 개발 (Development of an Optimal Trajectory Planning Algorithm for Automated Pavement Crack Sealer)

  • 도로면 크랙실링 공법은 예방적 차원에서 도로면에 발생된 크랙을 초기에 효과적으로 보수할 수 있는 공법으로 국내외에 서는 1990년대 초반부터 기존 도로면 크랙실링 작업의 생산성, 안전성 및 품질의 균일성 확보를 목적으로 크랙실링 자동화 장비의 개발을 위한 지속적인 연구개발 노력을 수행해 왔다. 도로면 크랙실링 자동화 장비를 개발함에 있어 특히 경로계획은 주어진 작업 영역 내에서 개발 장비로 하여금 실링될 크랙 네트워크를 시간 효과적으로 횡단할 수 있도록 하는 운항 정보를 제공하게 되므로 이는 개발 장비의 성능을 결정 짖는 매우 중요한 연구주제라 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 작업 영역 내 경로계획 데이터의 효과적인 모델링을 통해 크랙실링 자동화 장비의 최적 경로계획 알고리즘을 개발하는 것으로써, 경로 집합전체를 완전 탐색하는 2단계 트리 알고리즘과 크랙의 순열만을 탐색하는 1단계 트리 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, 알고리즘의 성능 측정 및 분석을 통해 최적 경로계획 알고리즘의 적용 범위와 그에 따른 성능 향상 정도를 평가하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 도로면 크랙실링 자동화 장비의 생산성 향상에 크게 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

진공에서 소성 가능한 프릿을 이용한 평판디스플레이 진공실장기술 (Vacuum Sealing Technology of the Flat Panel Display by using the Frit Glass Heatable in Vacuum)

  • One of the important issues for fabricating the microelectronic display devices such as FED, PDP, and VFD is to obtain a high vacuum level inside the panel. In addition, sustaining the initial high vacuum level permanently is also very important. In the conventional packing technology using a tabulation method, it is not possible to obtain a satisfiable vacuum level for a proper operation. In case of FED, the poor vacuum level results in the increase of operating voltage for electron emission from field emitter tips and an arcing problem, resultantly shortening a life time. Furthermore, the reduction of a sealing process time in the PDP production is very important in respect of commercial product. The most probable method for obtaining the initial high vacuum level inside the space with such a miniature and complex geometry is a vacuum in-line sealing which seals two glass plates within a high vacuum chamber. The critical solution for the vacuum sealing is to develop a frit glass to avoid the bubbling or crack problems during the sealing process at high temperature of about $400^{\circ}C$ under the vacuum environment. In this study, the suitable frit power was developed using a mixture of vitreous and crystalline type frit powders, and a vacuum sealed CNT FED with 2 inch diagonal size was fabricated and successfully operated.

매립지 차수재로서 자가치유재의 투수 및 강도특성 (Permeability and strength characteristics of Self-Sealing and Self-Beating materials as landfill liners)

  • 최근 국내 폐기물 매립지는 대규모의 부지를 조성할 수 있는 해안의 점토지반 상에 시공되고 있으며 차수층의 강도증진과 차수층 바닥을 통한 침출수의 유출을 방지하기 위해 시멘트 고화 차수재를 많이 사용하고 있다. 그러나 점토 차수층에 비해 큰 강성을 가지고 있는 시멘트 차수층은 매립되는 쓰레기 하중에 따라 침하가 동반되고, 부등 침하가 발생할 경우 차수층에 균열이 발생될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐기물 침출수의 유출을 방지하기 위해 Go매립지 점토를 혼합하여 만든 자가형성(Self-Sealing) 및 자가치유(Self-Healing) 차수층의 적용성을 평가하기 위해 삼축투수시험과 일축압축시험을 실시하였으며, 국내에 폭 넓게 분포하는 화강풍화토를 혼합하여 SSSH 차수층을 시공할 경우, 본 공법이 적용 가능한지를 평가하기 위해 자가형성(Self-Sealing)에 대한 시험을 실시하였다. 그 결과 점토가 혼합된 SSSH 차수재의 투수계수는 폐기물 관리법에서 요구하는 기준치보다 작은 값을 갖고 있었으며 일축압축강도 역시 증가되는 경향을 나타내었고, 화강풍화토와 벤토나이트가 혼합된 SSSH 차수재는 점토만을 사용한 경우보다 좋은 개량효과를 보였다.

Deformation Characteristics and Sealing Performance of Metallic O-rings for a Reactor Pressure Vessel

  • This paper provides a reference to determine the seal performance of metallic O-rings for a reactor pressure vessel (RPV). A nonlinear elastic-plastic model of an O-ring was constructed by the finite element method to analyze its intrinsic properties. It is also validated by experiments on scaled samples. The effects of the compression ratio, the geometrical parameters of the O-ring, and the structure parameters of the groove on the flange are discussed in detail. The results showed that the numerical analysis of the O-ring agrees well with the experimental data, the compression ratio has an important role in the distribution and magnitude of contact stress, and a suitable gap between the sidewall and groove can improve the sealing capability of the O-ring. After the optimization of the sealing structure, some key parameters of the O-ring (i.e., compression ratio, cross-section diameter, wall thickness, sidewall gap) have been recommended for application in megakilowatt class nuclear power plants. Furthermore, air tightness and thermal cycling tests were performed to verify the rationality of the finite element method and to reliably evaluate the sealing performance of a RPV.

유전자알고리즘을 이용한 임플란트용 실링어버트먼트의 홈 깊이 최적화에 관한 연구 (Optimization of the Groove Depth of a Sealing-type Abutment for Implant Using a Genetic Algorithm)

  • Dental implants are currently widely used as artificial teeth due to their good chewing performance and long life cycle. A dental implant consists of an abutment as the upper part and a fixture as the lower part. When chewing forces are repeatedly applied to a dental implant, gap at the interface surface between the abutment and the fixture is often occurred, and results in some deteriorations such as loosening of fastening screw, dental retraction and fixture fracture. To cope with such problems, a sealing-type abutment having a number of grooves along the conical-surface circumference was previously developed, and shows better sealing performance than the conventional one. This study carries out optimization of the groove shape by genetic algorithm(GA) as well as structural analysis in consideration of external chewing force and pretension between the abutment and the fixture. The overall optimization system consists of two subsystems; the one is the genetic algorithm with MATLAB, and the other is the structural analysis with ANSYS. Two subsystems transmit and receive the relevant data with each other throughout the optimization processes. The optimization result is then compared with that of the conventional one with respect to the contact pressure and the maximum stress. The result shows that the optimized model gives better sealing performance than the conventional sealing abutment.
