Effects of Ball Milling Condition on Sintering of Cu, Zn, Sn and Se Mixed Powders (Cu, Zn, Sn, Se 혼합 분말의 소결특성에 미치는 볼밀링 영향)

  • In order to make a $Cu_2ZnSnSe_4$ (CZTSe) sputtering target sintered for solar cell application, synthesis of CZTSe compound by solid state reaction of Cu, Zn, Sn and Se mixed powders and effects of ball milling condition on sinterability such as ball size, combination of ball size, ball milling time and sintering temperature, was investigated. As a result of this research, sintering at $500^{\circ}C$ after ball milling using mixed balls of 1 mm and 3 mm for 72 hours was the optimum condition to synthesis near stoichiometric composition of $Cu_2ZnSnSe_4$ and to prepare sintered pellet with high density relatively.

  • Various approaches have been proposed to increase the green density. Warm compaction method has been used for the reduction of residual stress, the improvement of magnetic properties and the higher densities. In this work, the effect of warm compaction on green density of Fe powder was investigated. After ball-milling of Fe oxide powder for 30 hours, Fe oxide powder was reduced through the hydrogen reduction process. The pure Fe powder and polymer binder were mixed by 3-D tubular mixer. And then the mixed powder was warm-compacted with various compaction pressure and binder contents. The green density of specimen was added polyvinyl binder was higher than any other specimens.

  • In recent years, a rapid increase in demands for the soft magnetic composite parts has been created and it has been tried to improve their properties by various processing methods, alloying elements and compaction parameters. Warm compaction method has been used for the reduction of residual stress, the improvement of magnetic properties and the higher densities. In this work, the effects of warm compaction and polymer binder on magnetic properties of Fe powder core were investigated. The sintering powder, Fe oxide, was ball-milled for 30n hours. And then ball-milled Fe oxide powder was reduced through hydrogen reduction process. The hydrogen reduced Fe powder and polymer binder were mixed by 3-D turbular mixer. And then the mixed powder was warm-compacted. The magnetic properties such as core loss and permeability were measured by B-H curve analyzer.

  • In this study, $CuInSe_{2}$ (CISe) and $CuInZnSe_{2}$ (CIZSe) thin films were prepared on Corning 1737 glass by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering from binary chalcogenide mixed powder targets. The targets were initially prepared by mixing appropriate weights of CuSe, InSe powder and various ZnSe contents. From the film bulk analysis result, it is observed that Zn concentration in the films increases proportionally with the addition of ZnSe in the sputtering targets. Under optimized conditions, CISe and CIZSe thin films grow as a chalcopyrite structure with strong (112), (220/204) and (312/116) reflections. Films are found to exhibit a high absorption coefficient of $10^{4}$ $cm^{-1}$. An increasing of optical band gap from 1.0 eV (CISe) to 1.25 eV (CIZSe) is found to be proportional with an increasing of Zn concentration as expected. All films have a p-type semiconductor characteristic with a carrier concentration in the order of 1014 $cm^{-3}$, a mobility about $10^{1}$ $cm^{2{\cdot}-1}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ and a resistivity at the range of $10^{2}-10^{6}$ W${\cdot}$m.

  • CdSe hollow sphere with average size of about 30-50 nm was synthesized from the mixed solution of cadmium chloride $(CdCl_2)$, sodium selenosulfate $(Na_2SeSO_3)$ and ethylenediamine(EDA, $H_2NCH_2CH_2NH_2$) at room temperature. The molar ratio of EDA to $Cd^{2+}$ showed the most significant effect on the morphology of CdSe hollow sphere. This paper will present and discuss the possible formation mechanism of CdSe hollow sphere based on the observation of morphological changes.

Joint Interface Observation of V and 17-4PH Stainless Steel Dissimilar Materials Manufactured by Direct Energy Deposition (직접 에너지 적층방식으로 제조된 V과 17-4PH 스테인리스강 이종재료의 접합계면 분석)

  • In this study, we have prepared a Ti-6Al-4V/V/17-4 PH composite structure via a direct energy deposition process, and analyzed the interfaces using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The joint interfaces comprise two zones, one being a mixed zone in which V and 17-4PH are partially mixed and another being a fusion zone in the 17-4PH region which consists of Fe+FeV. It is observed that the power of the laser used in the deposition process affects the thickness of the mixed zone. When a 210 W laser is used, the thickness of the mixed zone is wider than that obtained using a 150 W laser, and the interface resembles a serrated shape. Moreover, irrespective of the laser power used, the expected σ phase is found to be absent in the V/17-4 PH stainless steel joint; however, many VN precipitates are observed.

  • CuInGaSe(CIGS) mixed-source was prepared by hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE). Each metal was mixed in regular ratio and soaked at $1090^{\circ}C$ for 90 minutes in nitrogen atmosphere. After making the mixed-source to powder state, the pellet was made by the powder. The diameter of pellet is 10 mm. The CIGS thin film was deposited on soda lime glass evaporated Mo layer bye-beam evaporator. To confirm the crystallization, we measured X-ray diffraction (XRD). High intensity X-ray peaks diffracted from (112), (204)/(220), (116)/(312) and (400) of CIGS thin film and from (110) of Mo were confirmed by XRD measurement.

  • Recently, research is being conducted on geopolymers using industrial by-products as a cement substitute to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the construction industry. Since geopolymers use industrial by-products, their performance varies depending on the type of alkali activator used, curing temperature, etc. Therefore, as part of a study to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the construction industry, this study mixed blast furnace slag powder and ferronickel slag powder as cement substitutes, and compared and analyzed the fluidity and compressive strength of no-cement composites according to curing temperature.
