포화토내 나선형 앵커의 무리효과에 관한 실험적 고찰 (Small Scaled Pull-out Tests on Group Effect of Screw Anchors in Saturated Sand)

  • In the present study, laboratory pull-out tests with screw anchors are carried out to investigate behavior characteristics of underground structures applied uplift seepage forces. Small scaled pull-out tests in sand were conducted under saturated condition. And then, it was observed that the upward displacement as well as the pullout load varied with spacing of the anchor. Also, analyses have been performed with the aim of pointing out the effects of various parameters on the group effect of the screw anchors.

EPB Shield TBM의 스크루 컨베이어 시스템에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on screw conveyor system of EPB shield TBM)

  • 본 논문에서는 EPB Shield TBM장비에서 사용되는 체임버 내의 토압을 제어하고 막장의 안전을 유지하는 버력처리시스템인 스크루 컨베이어를 축소 제작하여 실내모형 실험을 실시하였다. 본 실내모형 실험에서 고려한 실험조건은 스크루 각도, 스크루 피치간격 및 스크루 회전수 등이며, 조건별 시험결과인 단위시간당 버력량을 비교 분석 하여 버력처리시스템이 최적의 성능을 발휘 할 수 있는 조건을 제시하였다. 최종적으로, 본 실험결과로부터 버력이 역류하지 않는 최적의 스크루 각도, 스크루 회전수 그리고 스크루 간격 조건을 도출할 수 있었다.

단분절 척추경 나사못의 피로수명과 Pre-Load의 영향 (The effect of pre-load and fatigue life for one-level pedicle screw system)

  • The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of pre-load and fatigue life of the distracted one-level pedicle screw system. A spring, which acted as a substitute of the ligament, was installed in the one-level pedicle screw system before testing. The static and fatigue properties are now being tested, which includes 6mm rod to 6mm screw, 6mm rod to 6.5mm screw and 6.35mm rod to 6.5mm screw, under pre-load. Until now as test data were analyzed, 6mm rod to 6.5mm screw was found to have the best performances of stillness and fatigue lift, while 6mm rod to 6mm screw showed the shortest fatigue life. If the stiffness of screw was bigger than that of rod. the fatigue life was prolonged. The fatigue life of the distracted pedicle screw was proved to be shorter than that of the one-level pedicle screw system. So the fatigue life was shortened because of the effect of the spring on the flexibility and stiffness of the rod. In order to obtain the stability of the pedicle screw, more tests are under doing on this topic.

동전기 휠을 이용한 전도성 환봉의 나선형 운동과 제어 (Screw Motion and Control of Conductive Rod by Rotating a Spiral Electrodynamic Wheel)

  • A spiral electrodynamic wheel is proposed as an actuator for the contactless conveyance of a conductive rod. When rotating the wheel around the rod, a radial force, a tangential force, and an axial force are generated on the rod and cause a screw motion of the rod. The rotation of the rod is the inevitable result due to traction torque of the wheel and the unintended motion to be excluded. However, the rotating speed of the rod should be measured without mechanical contact to be cancelled out through the controller, so the electrodynamic wheel is used as a sensor measuring the rotating speed of the rod indirectly as well as an actuator. In this paper, we model the magnetic forces by the proposed wheel theoretically and compare the derived model with simulation result by Maxwell, and analyze influences on the magnetic forces by key parameters constituting the wheel. The feasibility of the conveyance system is verified experimentally.

  • This paper focuses on the issue of force synchronizing control for the injection servomechanism of injection molding machines. Prior to the controller design, a virtual design model was developed for the injection mechanism with an AC servomotor-ball screw. A synchronizing controller is designed and combined with the PID control to accommodate the mismatches between the real plant and the linear model plant used. Due to the plant uncertainty, the stiffness and the damping of the mechanism were considered. From the tracking control simulations based on the virtual design model, it is shown that a significant reduction in force synchronizing error is achieved through the use of a proposed control scheme.

임플랜트 지대주 나사의 텅스텐 카바이드/탄소 코팅이 전하중에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (INFLUENCE OF TUNGSTEN CARBIDE/CARBON COATING ON THE PRELOAD OF IMPLANT ABUTMENT SCREWS)

  • Statement of problem: In order to increase preload with reducing the friction coefficient, abutment screws coated with pure gold and Teflon as dry lubricant coatings have been introduced. But the reported data indicate that if screw repeated tightening and loosening cycle, an efficiency of increasing preload was decreased by screw surface wearing off. Purpose: This study was to evaluate the influence of tungsten carbide/carbon coating, which has superior hardness and frictional wear resistance, on the preload of abutment screws and the stability of coating surface after repeated closures. Material and method: The rotational values of abutment screws and the compressive forces between abutment and fixture were measured in implant systems with three different joint connections, one external butt joint and two internal cones. Moreover the stability and the alteration of coating surface were examined by comparison of the compressive force and the removable torque values during 10 consecutive trials, observation with scanning electron microscope and analyzed the elemental composition with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy Results and conclusion: 1. Application of coating resulted in significant increase of compressive force in all implant systems(P<.05). The increasing rate of compressive force by coating in external butt joint was gloater than those in internal cones (P<.05). 2. Coated screw showed the significant additional rotation compared to non-coated screw in all implant systems (P<.05). There were no significant differences in the increasing rate of rotation among implant systems (P>.05). 3. Removable torque values were greater with non-coated screw than that with coated screw (P<.05). 4. Coated screw showed insignificant variations in the compressive forces during 10 consecutive trials(P>.05) 5. After repeated trials, the surface layer of coated screw was maintained relatively well. However surface wearing and irregular titanium fragments were found in non-coated screw.

Biomechanical Comparison of Spinal Fusion Methods Using Interspinous Process Compressor and Pedicle Screw Fixation System Based on Finite Element Method

  • Objective : To investigate the biomechanical effects of a newly proposed Interspinous Process Compressor (IPC) and compare with pedicle screw fixation at surgical and adjacent levels of lumbar spine. Methods : A three dimensional finite element model of intact lumbar spine was constructed and two spinal fusion models using pedicle screw fixation system and a new type of interspinous devices, IPC, were developed. The biomechanical effects such as range of motion (ROM) and facet contact force were analyzed at surgical level (L3/4) and adjacent levels (L2/3, L4/5). In addition, the stress in adjacent intervertebral discs (D2, D4) was investigated. Results : The entire results show biomechanical parameters such as ROM, facet contact force, and stress in adjacent intervertebral discs were similar between PLIF and IPC models in all motions based on the assumption that the implants were perfectly fused with the spine. Conclusion : The newly proposed fusion device, IPC, had similar fusion effect at surgical level, and biomechanical effects at adjacent levels were also similar with those of pedicle screw fixation system. However, for clinical applications, real fusion effect between spinous process and hooks, duration of fusion, and influence on spinous process need to be investigated through clinical study.

  • 체결부품의 사이즈가 작아질수록 실제 접합부의 면적이 줄어들기 때문에 체결력은 감소한다. 이러한 체결부품의 체결력을 결정하는 요소는 소재(Material), 구조(Geometry), 마찰(Friction)이 있다. 본 연구에서는 체결부품의 사이즈가 줄어들면서 체결력을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법 중의 하나인 소재 변경에 대하여 연구하였다. SWCH18A 와 SUS XM7 을 적용하여 초소형 나사를 제작하였으며, 3 차원 치수 측정을 통하여 피치정밀도와 두께정밀도를 측정하였다. 비커스 경도 측정을 통하여 나사가 외부의 힘에 의해 변형에 대한 저항력을 분석하였다. 또한 파단토크 시험과 SEM 을 이용한 파단면 분석을 통해 파단특성을 분석한다.

Evaluation of Withdrawal Resistance of Screw-Type Fasteners Depending on Lead-Hole Size, Grain Direction, Screw Size, Screw Type and Species

  • Screw-type fasteners are widely used to make connections between wood members or between wood and steel connectors because they can tolerate the applied loads by withdrawal or shearing. In this study, we evaluated the withdrawal resistances of the screw-type fasteners and analyzed the effects of the lead-hole size, relative grain direction (tangential, radial, and cross-sections) of the wood member, screw diameter, screw type, and species. Two wood species, including domestic larch and imported spruce, and three screw-type fasteners, including domestic lag screws (diameters of 9.46, 7.79, and 6.27 mm), domestic tapping screw (diameter, 6.3 mm), and imported Sherpa screw (diameter, 8.0 mm) were used. To assess the effect of lead-hole size, the lead holes with diameters corresponding to 68.7%, 70.8%, and 74.0% of the shank diameter of the lag screw were predrilled. The lead hole corresponding to 74% of the shank diameter was selected for this study because the smaller lead holes required higher rotational force for installation, which may cause damage in the screw neck, although there was no significant difference in the withdrawal resistance depending on the lead-hole sizes applied in this study. The lag screws installed on the tangential and radial surfaces showed similar withdrawal resistances to each other, which were greater than those installed on the cross-sectional surface. As the lag screw diameter increased from 6.27 mm to 9.46 mm, the withdrawal resistance also increased proportionally. The withdrawal resistance of the tapping screw having a diameter of 6.3 mm was almost 1.6 times higher than that of the lag screw having a similar diameter of 6.27 mm, while that of Sherpa screw having a diameter of 8.0 mm was around 1.4 times higher than that of the lag screw having a similar diameter of 7.79 mm.

자동차 시트 틸팅 각도에 따른 기어박스 마찰소음 영향도 (Tilting Effect of Automotive Seat System on Squeak Noise)

  • The squeak propensity in the gear box of an automotive seat system is investigated analytically. The mating parts in the gear box are the lead screw and the nut, where the friction stresses are exerted on the thread of the screw. The lead screw is modeled as a circular beam allowing the bending and torsional vibrations. In the system, the lead screw converts rotating to translating motion so that it moves the automotive seat slightly tilted on the floor. The tilting angle is considered one major parameter in this study. Therefore, the equations of motion associated with the non-conservative friction force are derived with the inclusion of the tilting angle. It is found that the squeak noise corresponds to the several bending modes of the lead screw and its propensity is increased by the tilting angle of the seat.
