To distinguish Ulhacha-printed books from imitated letter ones, it is important to discriminate each others. Generally speaking, imitating Ulhacha letters were resemblant Ulhacha closely, it is not easy to distinguish Ulhascha from imitated letter. But they have a tendency to exhibit more thin style than Ulhacha and different from its size. Out of Ulhacha-printed books, the big letters in Hunsa printed in the 7th years of reign of King Secho and Hangulcha in Kumgang panya paramil kyong samgahae printed in the 13th years of the reign of King Sung chong come in to question. In order to verify such a problem, it is more convenient to use OHP film copied those letters than the naked eyes. The promotion of reading books at the school is more important and useful for students than the Educational Information Project, which is setting computers and the Internet at the public school. Because watching TV and navigating the internet without reading books is not good for students to exercise creativity and sound personality. To promote reading books at the school, at first schools need to hire librarian-teachers, and build collection at school libraries as explained. And then schools need to conduct campaigns for promoting reading books, such as reading boots for students, reading books for 10 minutes every morning, and book flood program. In addition, the lesson on reading instruction will be helpful.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of juvenile books on Korea and Japan in WorldCat and observe the possibility of diffusing knowledge on each country. The distribution of bibliographic records of books published from 1993 through 2012, and especially the books published in 1997, when the numbers of books on both countries were the closest, were analyzed in detail in terms of language, genre, subject headings, and holding libraries. The result shows much fewer bibliographic records of juvenile books on Korea than those of books on Japan, and their growing gap every year. There were also much fewer holding libraries and copies of books on Korea, published in 1997, compared to books on Japan. The texts were mostly written in Korean and in tones set for very young readers. A serious lack of diversity in subjects and genres with the focus on Korean folklores and anecdotal biographies were also observed. Therefore, there seems to be nothing much interesting to read that would help promote the diffusion of knowledge on Korea through libraries around the world.
