초등학교 "슬기로운 생활" 교과를 위한 성취기준, 평가기준 및 평가도구 개발 (Developing Achievement Standards, Assessment Standards, and Assessment Tools for "Intelligent Life" Course of Elementary School)

  • To get an appropriate and meaningful performance assessment outcomes and to provide the base of essential elementary educational evaluations, we had tried to establish achievement standards, assessment standards and had developed appropriate assessment tools in 「Intelligent Life」 course of the elementary school in this study. The following things were taken into account to establish achievement standards, assessment standards and to develop assessment tools. First, managing deeply not only cognitive domain but also the basic inquiry skills and affective domain, all-round educational properties of integrated courses were likely to come out. Second, evaluating instructional processes as well as instructional results, we had developed assessment standards in elementary 2nd grade's 「Intelligent Life」 course. Third, developing assessment standards on the basis of the 7th Curriculum, we had examined both text book and teacher's guide to promote effectiveness of field application. The type of an assessment tools had been developed variously, considering the characteristics of the elementary lower grades and properties of elementary 2nd grade's 「Intelligent Life」 course. We had developed assessment tools to observe and evaluate practical achievement levels, placing great importance on the types of an assessment tools including observing, narrative of inquiry, report, etc. As a result of investigation of elementary teachers' understandings of the developed achievement standards, assessment standards, and an assessment tools, were revealed in the affirmative on the whole.

잎화석의 CLAMP 탐구를 통한 고등학교 기후변화 교육 프로그램 개발 (Development of Climate Change Education Program in High School Based on CLAMP Inquiry of Fossil Leaves)

  • 본 연구는 고등학교 '통합과학' 교과와 연계하여 CLAMP(Climate-Leaf Analysis Multivariate Program) 고기후 탐구를 통해 기후변화 교육을 할 수 있는 STEAM 프로그램을 개발했다. PDIE 교수 설계 모형에 따라 2015 개정교육과정과 과학 교과서를 분석했고, 전문가 패널과 pilot test를 통해 10차시의 수업자료를 개발했다. STEAM 수업 과정에 따라 상황제시 단계에서는 학교 부근의 광엽수종에서 잎을 수집하여 LMA(Leaf Margin Analysis) 기후 탐구활동으로 학습목표를 제시했다. 창의적 설계 단계에서는 연구 지역의 지질과 화석에 대해 학습했고, CLAMP 입력자료(잎화석의 인상학적 31가지 특성)를 분류하는 실습을 했다. 감성적 체험과 새로운 도전 단계에서는 야외학습으로 화석을 채집하고, CLAMP 방법으로 고기후를 탐구하며 신생대의 기후 변화 경향과 원인에 대해 토의하는 과정에서 기후소양을 함양하게 하였다. 개발 프로그램의 타당도 검증은 전문가 패널 간의 신뢰도 구축 과정을 통해 모든 항목에서 개발 목적에 적합하다는 평가(CVI .84)를 받았다. 이 프로그램을 고등학교 현장에 적용하기 위해서 불일치 사항을 보완하고, 적합성을 검토하기 위해 예비수업을 실시했다. 참여한 학생들의 수업만족도는 4.48이었고, 이들의 의견을 반영하여 프로그램을 완성했다. 이 연구는 고등학생들에게 기후변화에 대한 실천적 지식과 대응 행동 의지를 갖게 하고, 기후소양 함양에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

초등학교 원격 과학수업이 과학 학업성취도 및 창의적 인성에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Elementary School Distance Science Classes on Science Academic Achievement and Creative Personality)

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 원격 과학수업이 과학 학업성취도와 창의적 인성에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 초등학교 6학년을 대상으로 연구반과 비교반을 선정하여 연구를 하게 되었다. 실험처치는 10주에 거쳐 초등학교 과학과 '계절의 변화' 단원의 내용으로 과학수업을 하였다. 과학 학업성취도의 하위 영역의 사후 검사 결과에서는 '탐구', '태도'에서는 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 그러나 학업성취도의 하위 영역인 '지식'에서는 유의미한 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 학업성취도의 전체검사 결과에서는 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 초등학교 원격 과학수업은 학업성취도에 효과가 있었다고 해석된다. 창의적 인성 검사의 하위 영역인 '인내/집착', '자기확신', '유머감', '상상', '개방성', '모험심', '독립성'에서는 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 그러나 하위 영역인 '호기심'에서는 유의미한 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 창의적 인성 검사의 전체 검사결과에서는 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 초등학교 원격 과학수업은 창의적 인성 함양에는 효과가 있는 것으로 해석된다. 초등학교 원격 과학수업에 대한 학생들의 인식에도 긍정적인 반응을 보였다.

외국의 고등학교 지구과학 교육과정의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Earth Science Curricula at High School Level in Foreign Countries)

  • This study aimed at identifying the characteristics of current Earth Science Curricula in several countries in terms of their format, objectives and contents and discussing about them. The curricula(including textbooks) were collected from 6 countries The United States of America, England, Australia, Japan and The Republic of China. Here are the results of this study ; 1. Earth Science should be teached in high school and assigned at least 8-10 unit. 2. In Earth Science objectives, scientific inquiry methods through observation and experiment and mutual relationship among science, technology and society must be stressed. 3. The contents of Earth Science must did with experimental and activity rather than understanding in order to induce students to how more intersts in Earth Science. 4. There is a growing tendency for Earth Science Education to be attached importance to life environment and career education.

중학생과 고등학생의 과학적 소양 평가 (An Assessment of the Scientific literacy of Secondary School Students)

  • This study sets out to assess the scientific literacy of secondary school students and to describe their differences according to gender, grade, course. This study involved 112 middle school students and 213 high school students. Their scientific literacy was measured by the Scientific Literacy Test designed by Manhart (1997). A 70-item multiple-choice test was used to assess their scientific literacy. The constructs of science factor included 36 items making up physical science, life science, and earth science subtests. The social aspects of science factor consisted of 34 items in nature of scientific inquiry/knowledge, science as a human endeavor, science and technology, and societal perspectives. A two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t-test were conducted using the SPSS program. The scientific literacy score of the middle school students was 45.17. There was no significant difference according to gender but boys tended to perform better than girls on both the constructs of science factor and the social aspects of science factor. The scientific literacy score of the high school students was 51.79. There was no significant difference according to gender. But, boys tended to perform better than girls on the constructs of science factor. Girls tended to perform better than boys on the social aspects of science factor. The students taking a course on natural science got statistically higher scores than the students taking a course on humanities. The high school students got statistically higher scores than the middle school students.

Development of the K-12 Science Literacy Education Program focused on the Earth System and Environment

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a program based on the Earth system based program to help students achieve science literacy. This program was designed to be connected across grade levels, and contents of the program were constructed to have meaningful interdisciplinary context. All the activities in the program were inquiry-based, and understanding of the nature of science was considered essential throughout the program. In addition, appreciation and stewardship for the Earth system were systematically emphasized on any grade level. Design of the program applied U.S. National Science Education Standards for the quality of and conditions for school science programs.

지구과학 교과 영역 탐구 활동 소재로서의 월면 회전 (An Inquiry Activity in the Subject Matter of Earth Science: Apparent Rotation of Lunar Configuration)

  • 본 연구는 달의 일주 운동에서 관찰되는 월면 무늬의 겉보기 회전 운동에 관해서 정량적으로 기술하고 관측 결과를 제시하여 지구과학 교과 관점에서 지구 자전 현상과의 연관성을 고찰하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 달의 일주 운동 관측이 지구과학 교과 영역에서 수행할 수 있는 탐구활동 소재 중의 하나로 구성될 수 있다는 것을 제시하고자 한다. 월면 무늬 회전은 지표면에 서 있는 관측자가 일주 운동하고 있는 달을 보고 있을 때 달 표면에 있는 어두운 무늬들이 지평선에 대해서 회전하고 있는 것처럼 보이는 현상이다. 이 현상은 육안으로도 쉽게 관측되므로 지구과학 탐구 요소로서 의문을 품어볼 만한 자연현상임에도 불구하고 이 현상을 지구 자전과 관련된 내용으로 소개하고 있는 지구과학 전공 영역 서적을 찾아보기가 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 월면 회전 현상의 이론적인 원리를 수학적으로 상세히 유도하고, 실제관측을 통하여 이 현상이 지구과학 교과 영역의 탐구 소재로서 개발될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다. 또한 월면의 역회전 현상을 제시하고, 이를 수학적으로 증명하였으며 정성적인 이해가 가능하도록 설명 방법을 고안하여 소개하였다.

긍정적 탐구 활동이 신규간호사의 긍정심리자본과 조직몰입에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Appreciative Inquiry on Positive Psychological Capital and Organizational Commitment of New Nurses)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine whether appreciative inquiry (AI) is an effective intervention for increasing the positive psychological capital and organizational commitment of new nurses. Method : The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 60 new nurses in a tertiary hospital in Seoul. The experimental group received 2 classes of AI education and in-unit AI activities. The control group received the existing education program. Results : There was no statistically significant difference in the positive psychological capital and organizational commitment between the experimental group and the control group over time. Satisfaction with the AI education scored 3.69, which was higher than the average. The reason why the experimental group members were satisfied with the program was that AI education helped them to adapt and the in-unit AI activities made staff more cooperative and the atmosphere of the unit more positive. Conclusion : When applying AI activities to new nurses to promote positive psychological capital and organizational commitment, it is necessary to provide a workshop in which the participants can fully concentrate on education and to extend the period of use to one year in order to maintain the effect of AI activities.

대학수학능력시험 실험 평가 문제의 분석 : 과학 탐구를 중심으로 (An Analysis of the Competency Exam for College Education : Area of Science Inguiry)

  • The purpose of this study was to point out the problems of the competency exam for college education, a new college entrance exam, and to suggest the improvement ideas for it For this purpose, the test items of science inquiry were taken from the first, the second and the third pilot studies of the competency exam for college education which National Institute of Educational Evaluation had done. These tests were administered to 1,223 students of the general high school(422 for the 1st 400 for the 2nd, and 401 for the 3rd test). Also, those students' and the high school science teacher's opinions about the tests and the new college entrance exam were surveyed. The evaluation objectives of those test items were analyzed and the test item analyses were done. But, those items were unevenly distributed into a few areas of the evaluation framework. (2) The boys had higher mean scores than the girls in all of the tests, but these differences were not statistically significant. The natural science course students had significantly higher mean than the humanities course students in all of the test:(1st, F=12.643, p=0.0004 ; 2nd, F=45.757, p=0.0001 ; 3rd, F=36.162, p=0.0001). A significant interaction of sex and course was found in only 1st test( F=11.352. p=0.0008). (3) Most students answered the test was difficult and they needed more time to finish it Also, they added they had to study in a different way from the traditional one in order to prepare the new college entrance exam. Science teachers answered that those evaluation objectives of the tests corresponded well with the educational objectives of high school science and that the tests were suitable as measuring instruments of the scientific thinking abilities. But they pointed out it would be very difficult for them to teach students for preparing the exam under the exsting educational conditions. To carry out successfully the competency exam for college education, the following improvements were suggested. (1) Good evaluation methodology should be developed. (2) In-service science teacher training models on evaluation should be put in force. (3) Effective teaching models and strategies should be developed.(4) The high school science curriculum should be revised.

중등과학영재 학생의 탐구 사고력 향상을 위한 R & E 프로그램의 개발과 효과 (Development and Effects of R & E Program for Improving the Science Process Skills of Middle Gifted Science Students)

  • 이 연구는 과학영재 학생의 탐구 사고력 향상을 위해 안내된 R & E 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 우선 교사중심에서 학생 중심으로 3단계의 과정을 거쳐 R & E를 수행할 수 있도록 하는 안내된 R & E 수업 모형을 개발하였고, 5단계 절차에 맞는 안내된 R & E 프로그램을 개발하여 중학교 과학 영재 학생 38명을 대상으로 수업을 진행하였다. 그 결과, '가설 설정 > 변인 추출 > 탐구문제 도출 > 결론 도출 > 실험 설계 > 일반화 > 평가 > 자료 해석 > 자료 변환' 순으로 높은 평균 점수를 나타냈다. 세부적으로는 9개 평가 요소 중 '탐구문제 도출, 변인 추출, 가설 설정, 결론 도출'은 높은 수준을, '실험 설계'는 평균 수준을, '자료 해석, 일반화, 평가'는 낮은 수준을, '자료 변환'은 매우 낮은 수준을 나타냈다. 이번 연구를 계기로 안내된 R & E 프로그램이 탐구 과정별 요소를 잘 반영하여 과학영재 학생의 종합적 사고력과 창의적 문제해결력 향상에 도움이 되길 기대한다.
