부모의 일반적인 특성에 따른 자녀의 구강보건 행태에 관한 연구 (A study on the children's oral health behavior according to the general characteristics of parents)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the general characteristics of parents to their children's oral health care. The subjects in this study were 117 parents and their children who resided in rural communities in the region of K. Methods : A survey was conducted with the consent of the parents from July 1 to 30, 2010. As for the survey on the children, the children who were in the lower grades were interviewed, and the upper graders filled out the questionnaires in person. A frequency analysis was carried out to find out the general characteristics of the parents and children, and x2-test was utilized to grasp the links between the general characteristics of the parents and the children's oral health care. A SPSS WIN 12.0 program was employed to analyze all the collected data. The findings of the study were as follows: Result : 1. As a result of investigating the relationship of the occupation of the parents to the children's regular dental checkup, the 71.8 percent of the entire children didn't get a dental checkup on a regular basis. The biggest percentage of the children of the self-employed parents(100%) got a regular dental checkup, and 90.9 percent of the children of the government workers did that(p<.05). 2. As a result of checking the relationship of the occupation of the parents to the children's dental-caries experiences, 39.3 percent of the whole children had no such experiences. The largest percentage of the children of the company employees(51.9%) had dental-caries experiences(p<.05). 3. Concerning the links between the academic credential of the parents and the children's toothbrushing method, the biggest percentage of the children(40.2%) brushed their teeth up and down. The largest rate of the children whose parents were high-school graduates(41.5%) brushed their teeth in that way(p<.05). 4. Regarding the links between the toothbrushing time of the parents and the children's view, 43.6 percent found their parents to take good care of their teeth to make them clean. 60 percent whose parents brushed their teeth after having breakfast and dinner took the best view(p<.001). 5. As for the oral-health education experiences of the parents and a time for the children's change of toothbrushes, 29.1 percent changed their toothbrushes every two months, and 29.1 percent did that not on a regular basis but when the bristles of their toothbrushes got bent(p<.05). Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings suggest that in order to promote children's oral health in consideration of the characteristics of their parents, children should be urged to get a regular dental checkup, and the development of oral-health education programs in which parents and children can participate together is urgently required.

시력의 가족력분석 (Analysis of Family History of Visual Acuity)

  • 목적: 본 논문은 소아 및 학동기 그리고 청소년과 부모시력의 유전적 연관성을 보고자 하였다. 방법: 연구 대상자는 4~18세까지의 소아 및 학동기 그리고 청소년기에 속하는 어린이 208명과 피검자의 부모 340명이 참여하였다. 시력측정은 5 m용 한천석식 시력표를 이용하였으며, 각 단안씩 나안 및 교정시력을 측정하였다. 결과: 6세미만의 소아에서 아버지의 시력은 아무런 관련성을 찾을 수 없었으나, 남아에서는 어머니의 시력에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 학동기의 경우는 특히 부모와의 관련성이 높은 것으로 나타났는데 시력이 0.7이하인 그룹에서는 부모 모두 0.7이하가 많았으며, 0.7초과인 그룹에서는 부모도 같이 0.7을 초과하는 경향을 보였다. 청소년기의 경우에서도 어머니의 시력이 남아의 시력과 연관성이 있음을 보여주었다. 결론: 부모의 가족력이나 특히 어머니의 시력이상은 자녀의 시력이상에 더욱더 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study explored adjustment of school-aged children from low-income divorced families. Specifically, protective factors for children's self-perceived competence and behavior problems were investigated with children's coping strategies, perceived social support, parents' childrearing style, and parental stress. Subjects of this study were 126 children of 4 to 6 grade and their custodial parents(38 fathers, 88 mothers) from divorced families. Children's self-perceived competence and behavior problems were not different neither by children's sex nor custodial parent's sex. When children used more positive and less negative coping strategies, and when parents experienced less childrearing stress, children perceived themselves to be more competent. Similarly, when children used more positive and less negative coping strategies, received more social support, they perceived themselves to be more adequate. Children whose parents had high levels of childrearing stress showed more internalized and externalized behavior problems. Furthermore, children who perceived less supports from peers showed more behavior problems.

양치교실 운영여부에 따른 학부모의 자녀에 대한 칫솔질 지도 상태 (Parents' toothbrushing guidance on the children by operation of toothbrushing room)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the parents' toothbrushing guidance on the children by operation of toothbrushing room. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 790 parents of first, fourth, and sixth grade students of J elementary school in Changwon from June 1 to 30, 2013. J elementary school did not have toothbrushing room. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects (3 items), toothbrushing room operation (3 items), and toothbrushing (7 items). Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 program. Results: Parents of high school diploma demanded the establishment of toothbrushing room (p<0.05) and parents having undergraduate course tended to want the operation of toothbrushing room (p<0.05) and children's dental health care (p<0.05). Parents within forties tended to have higher concern for their children's toothbrushing (p<0.05) and toothbrushing room operation (p<0.05). They tried to have much interest in their dental health checkup and toothbrushing frequency. Conclusions: The establishment and operation of toothbrushing room is very important to elementary school children. The toothbrushing guidance by parents will enhance children's dental health knowledge and maintain lifelong dental healthcare for the children.

학령기 아동과 부모의 통제소재 비교 (A comparative study of Locus of Control in children and Their parents)

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between children's locus of control and their parents. In addition, this study investigated socio-demographic variables of locus of control in children and their patents. The subjects of this study were 269 elementary school children in the 5th and 6th grade and their parents. To assess children's locus of control, the inter -external locus of control scale developed by H.K. Lee(1980) was used. The locus of control scale designed by J. W. Jo(1989) was administered to parents. The data of the study were analysed with t-test, one was ANOVA and Scheffe's test. Also, Pearson's correlation coefficient was computed. The results of this study were as follows. 1)There were significant differences in children's locus of control according to the children's sex, parent's educational background and family income. Boys were more internal than girls. Children with parent who had higher educational backgrounds were more internal than others. Also, children in higher family income were more internal those in lower educational background and family income. Also parents with religion were more internal than those without religion. 3)children's locus of control was significantly correlated with their parents . Paternal locus of control was significantly correlated with their daughter's and maternal locus of control with their sons'.

초등학생 및 그 학부모의 학교급식에 대한 만족도 -서울 지역 일부 공동조리 및 위탁경영 급식학교의 비교- (Comparisons of Children' and Their Parents' Satisfaction of School Lunch Program in Elementary School by Foodservice System)

  • The satisfaction of elementary school children and their parents with the school lunch program by foodservice system was assessed by questionnaire. 787 (347 male, 417 female) 5th grade elementary school children and 761 parents participated. Foodservice systems of the schools were of 4 types : central/commissary ; satellite /commissary ; conventional/contracted ; and delivery/contracted. The most joyful mealtime for children was identified as lunch because of eating with friends. Satiety and leftovers after lunch varied according to the foodservice system. For example , there was less satiety in the contracted system and more leftovers in the delivery system than in the others, Foods tasted better in the commissary system than in the contracted one. The contacted system , especially the delivery/contracted system, was poor for keeping rice and soup hot. The children's food habits such as eating a greater variety of foods and good table manner were improved through the school munch program. Most parents well understood the main purpose of the school lunch program to be a source of education on nutrition and table manner, as well as a way in which to provide the same meals to all students and save the time & work needed to prepare home lunches. Parents claimed that hygiene, taste, good nutrition and food amount should be improved. This was especially true for hygiene in the commissary system and taste in the contracted system. Furthermore, they stressed that better taste and hygiene are the most important criteria for good school foodservice systems. In conclusion, parents wanted the school lunch program should be selected with consideration of children's preference such as by periodical food preference tests. A nutrition education program should also be provided to correct bad food habits of childrens.

농촌지역 다문화가정 아동과 부모의 문화적응이 아동의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Acculturation of Children and Parents from Multicultural Families on the Self-Esteem of Children in Rural Areas)

  • This study was conducted with the aim of examining the acculturation process of children and parents from multicultural families, which can affect the self-esteem of the children concerned. The participants from each family consisted of the fathers, mothers, and school-age children of 179 households. The results of this study reveal the following: (1) First, the multicultural children scored higher than the average in self-esteem in most areas except school life. Furthermore, the children and parents had a comparatively positive attitude toward acculturation (2) Second, the children's level of self-esteem had significant correlations only with the acculturation of mothers as opposed to fathers. (3) Third, the impacts of acculturation of the children and their parents on the children's self-esteem followed different patterns according to the sub-areas of self-esteem. Specifically, the self-esteem for overall self-value and family relations rose when the multicultural acceptance attitude of mothers was high. However, area of peer relations was affected only by the acculturation of children. The area concerning school life was high when the mother-culture propagation attitude of mothers was low.

청소년 자녀의 건강관련 삶의 질에 대한 부모와 자녀의 인식차이가 청소년 우울에 미치는 영향 (Correlates of Depression and Perception Gap of Adolescents' Health-Related Quality of Life between Parents and Children)

  • Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the correlates of depression and perception gap of adolescents' Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) between Parents and Children. Methods: Research targets are all students and their parents who are enrolled in from 1st~3rd grade of middle school to $1^{st}$ grade of high school which was selected intentionally. The survey was conducted from May $16^{th}$ to June $9^{th}$ in 2014 by research staffs equipped with structured questionnaire. $PedsQL^{TM}4.0$ Generic Core Scales and Korean form of the Kovacs' Children's Depression Inventory were the main tool for measuring the HRQOL and depression. Data of 985 respondents, both of parents and children, was used for analysis of this study. Results: In terms of gender difference of depression, 5.8% of adolescents, 3.2% of male and 8.5% of female (p<0.001), are shown depression symptom. Depression rate of the low level students of academic achievement was 11.0% which is the lowest rate to compare to 4.3% of middle level and 2.6% of high level students (p<0.001). The case that parents overestimated their children's overall HRQOL is 3.699 times more likely to have depression symptom than the case which is in concurrence between parents and children. Especially the overestimation in social, emotional, and academic area of HRQOL promote depression 3.918 times, 3.371 times, and 2.258 times more than the agreement occurred of each areas. In contrast underestimation in physical area of HRQOL reduce depression 0.266 times less than the agreement occurred of the area. Conclusion: The perception gap of adolescents' HRQOL between parents and children is the most influential factor to adolescents' depression among all variables which was evaluated in this study.

아동 우울에 관련된 요인 및 부모 우울과의 관계 연구 (THE STUDY OF RELATION TO VARIABLES RELATED TO CHILDREN'S DEPRESSION AND PARENTS' DEPRESSION)

  • 목 적:초등학교 아동들에 대한 우울 정도의 평가 및 우울감과 관련된 요인들을 알아보고, 동시에 부모 우울감과의 관련성에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. 방 법:대구 시내의 한 초등학교에 재학중인 5, 6학년 학생 258명에게 CDI를, 부모에게는 BDI를 실시하였으며, 동시에 우울감과 관련된 변인들에 대한 설문지도 실시하였다, 통계분석은 Pearson상관분석, t검정, 일원변량분석을 시행하였고, 통계적 유의 수준은 p<.05로 하였다. 결 과:1) 전체 아동의 CDI 평균점수는 $13.5{\pm}6.77$이었고, 어머니의 BDI 평균점수는 $13.3{\pm}7.25$, 아버지의 BDI 평균점수는 $11.6{\pm}7.03$이었다. 2) 아동관련 변인 중 성별, 건강상태, 학교성적, 가정의 경제상태에 따라 CDI 점수에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 3) 어머니의 건강여부는 아동의 우울감에 다소 영향을 주었으나 부모의 학력, 종교유무, 아버지의 건강상태에 따라서는 CDI 점수에서 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 4) 아동의 학교성적과 가정의 경제상태는 어머니의 BDI 점수에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고, 아동의 학교성적은 아버지의 BDI 점수에도 다소 영향을 주었다. 5) CDI 각 항목들에 대한 분석에서는 아동의 성별에 따라서는 10개 항목, 건강여부에 대해서는 8개 항목, 경제상태에 대해서는 6개 항목에서 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 특히 아동의 학교성적에 대해서는 전체 27개 항목 중 20개 항목에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 7) 부모의 BDI 점수와 아동의 CDI 점수간에 유의한 상관을 보였으며, 특히 어머니와의 상관이 남아와 여아 모두에서 더욱 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결 론:아동의 우울감에는 아동의 성별, 건강여부, 학교성적, 경제상태 등이 모두 유의한 영향을 미치며, 특히 학교성적이 아동과 어머니의 우울감에 상당히 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나서 학교성적에 대한 부담이 매우 크다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 아동의 우울감과 부모의 우울감(특히 어머니)과의 상관이 높아서 어머니의 우울감이 아동 우울감과 큰 관련이 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 아동우울증 치료시 아동만의 문제 뿐 아니라 부모의 우울감, 부모-자녀 관계를 함께 고려하여야 할 필요성을 시사한다.

근린 놀이환경 적합도 및 요인 평가에 관한 연구 - 서울의 초등학생 부모 대상 설문조사결과를 중심으로 - (Assessment of the Suitability and the Factors of Play Environments in Residential Neighborhood - Based on a Citywide Survey of Elementary School Parents in Seoul -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the environmental factors relating to children's outdoor play and to assess how the residential neighborhood is suitable for play in the perception of parents. Based on a citywide survey of 500 parents of elementary school students in grades 1-4 in Seoul, this empirical study shows that children's outdoor play environments in residential neighborhoods of Seoul have been observed to be overall unsuitable for play activity. Three physical environmental factors (spatial availability, neighborhood attractiveness, and street difficulties) and three social environmental factors (fear of crime, social interactions, and psychological comfort) are related to children's play activity. Five factors, with the exception of the psychological comfort factor, impact the suitability of children's outdoor play environment. Specifically, it is the physical environment, rather than the social environment, that was deemed unsuitable in spite of its impacts. These findings help us understand the current conditions of neighborhood play environments associated with children's play activity. It is necessary to improve parents' perceptions of the play environment and children's play activities by improving the physical environment.
