Development of a Product Oriented Group for Mathematics Teachers Professional Growth

  • A research group consisting of some mathematics education scholars and school teachers has been formed to build a website which intended to combine both theories and practices of mathematical teaching since 2002. There were three working stages: video-tapping realistic math teaching, developing video discs of different themes, and designing e-Learning. The group members learned knowledge of teaching by actual participating. On the other hand, the products enabled the audience to get professional development in knowledge of both mathematics and teaching. Management process of this group and effects upon the participants and users will be presented and discussed in this paper. Exploratory Study and Empirical Study on Critical Website Success Factors of Chinese Publishing Enterprises

  • The study on the critical success factors (CSF) for electronic commerce systems has been a hot topic in both academe and industry. On the basis of reviewing papers on CSF and analyzing their problems, this paper designs the initial assessment indictors and website features and functions influencing EC success. Using Delphi survey and data analysis, we get the five important assessment indictors and seven important web features and functions. Furthermore, the hypothesis of CSF model is proposed. Finally, we conduct a survey on the Chinese Publishing Industry to test the hypothesis. The result shows that the hypothesis is partly supported, which means useful and understandable information, complete and timely information, credible and accurate information, all product-related information are the critical success factors for EC publishing industry. This research not only impels EC research in China, but also has instructional effect on the implementation of EC for enterprises to increase the success rate of EC.

Measuring Trusts And The Effects On The Consumers' Buying Behavior

  • Purpose: Trust plays an important role in e-commerce because consumers perceive more risk involved with this type of shopping than traditional way of shopping. Trust is defined as complex and multidimensional issue. This paper argues that trust should be considered to have two important components as trust belief and trust intention, in which trust belief has three components as competence, integrity and benevolence. Research design, data and methodology: This study examines the relationship between retailer website quality (web design, navigation, information), reputation and risk toward trust. In addition, trust and risk toward buying behavior are also considered, leading to customer satisfaction. The paper is conducted on a sample of 594 customers with direct experience of online shopping in Vietnam. Both confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and a structural equation model (SEM) were utilised. Results: Empirical findings from this paper indicate that trust is high order construct. Website quality and reputation have positive impacts on customers' trust. Trust has a positive relationship to buying behavior and customers' satisfaction while perceived risk has negative relationship to buying behavior. In contrast, a relationship between perceived risk and trust is not supported in this study. Conclusions: Improving reputation and website quality (especially information) may increase customers' trust and eventually lead to purchase decision.

Social Cues, E-Social Ambience, and Emotions in Web-Based Fashion Retailing: A Case of U.S. Shoppers

  • In-store atmospherics involve quantified physical and social aspects; however, the social quality of a web-based retailing context has largely been under-examined. This study addressed some antecedents and consequences of social ambience in virtual shopping (or e-social ambience) within a web-based U.S. retailing fashion context. This study explored the role of social cues as a viable antecedent to e-social ambience and emotions as its consequence. A conceptual framework was built postulating the effect of social cue for web content, on e-social ambience, emotions, and e-shopping enjoyment. The experimental results (n=488) on a fictitious retail T-shirt website confirmed the positive correlation among the variables; in addition, the level of social cues included within the web content significantly increased the level of customer-perceived e-social ambience of the website and subsequent positive on-site emotions. On-site emotions positively influence purchase intentions. The results expand the current understanding of e-store management by providing novel insight relevant to fashion companies that wish to provide customers with a quality website shopping experience.

Machine Learning for Flood Prediction in Indonesia: Providing Online Access for Disaster Management Control

  • As one of the most vulnerable countries to floods, there should be an increased necessity for accurate and reliable flood forecasting in Indonesia. Therefore, a new prediction model using a machine learning algorithm is proposed to provide daily flood prediction in Indonesia. Data crawling was conducted to obtain daily rainfall, streamflow, land cover, and flood data from 2008 to 2021. The model was built using a Random Forest (RF) algorithm for classification to predict future floods by inputting three days of rainfall rate, forest ratio, and stream flow. The accuracy, specificity, precision, recall, and F1-score on the test dataset using the RF algorithm are approximately 94.93%, 68.24%, 94.34%, 99.97%, and 97.08%, respectively. Moreover, the AUC (Area Under the Curve) of the ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristics) curve results in 71%. The objective of this research is providing a model that predicts flood events accurately in Indonesian regions 3 months prior the day of flood. As a trial, we used the month of June 2022 and the model predicted the flood events accurately. The result of prediction is then published to the website as a warning system as a form of flood mitigation.

법학전문도서관 웹사이트의 콘텐츠 분석 (The Analysis of Contents on the Law School Library Websites)

  • 2009년 법학전문대학원의 개원에 따라 교육기관의 한 곳으로서 25곳의 법학전문도서관들이 개관하였으며, 현재 이용자들에게 시 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 서비스하기 위해 많은 법학전문도서관들은 자관의 웹사이트를 구축하여 운영하고 있다. 이 시점에서 본 연구는 효율적인 법학전문도서관 웹사이트의 콘텐츠를 설계하기 위한 방안을 모색해보았다. 분석결과, 별도의 법학전문도서관 웹사이트를 구축하여 운영하고 있는 곳은 21곳(84%)이었으며, 이 중에서 법학전문도서관의 역할에 준하며 법학과 관련된 특성화된 콘텐츠를 제공하고 있는 웹사이트는 15곳(71%)이었다. 또한 법학전문도서관 웹사이트의 메뉴를 통해 콘텐츠 구성 현황을 분석함으로써 법학전문도서관에서 제공되어야하는 콘텐츠 구성 요소를 7개의 항목으로 제시하였다.

  • 프로젝트기반 학습은 학생들의 탐구력 향상과 창의성 신장에 많은 효과가 있음에도 불구하고 학교 정규수업 시간에 이를 수행하기에는 여러 가지로 제약이 따랐다. 그러나 최근에 인터넷이 널리 보급되면서 기존의 학교 수업에서의 시공간의 제약을 해결하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 프로젝트 주제와 관련된 멀티미디어 자료를 사용하고 인터넷 서비스를 활용하여 학생들이 지속적으로 프로젝트에 참여할 수 있도록 하고 프로젝트 진행과정을 모두 볼 수 있는 프로젝트 기반 웹사이트를 개발하고 구현하였다. 개발한 웹사이트의 타당성을 검증하기 위해서 초등학교 4학년 한반을 대상으로 30일에 걸쳐 프로젝트를 진행한 결과 학생 중심의 자기주도적 학습 능력과 새로운 주제 발굴에 대한 탐구력이 향상되었다.

의료서비스 소비자들의 의료 웹사이트 및 어플리케이션 사용확산에 관한 연구 (An Empirical Study on a Use-Diffusion Model of Medical Service Consumer's Web Based Application Usage)

  • 전통적으로 새로운 기술에 대한 사용과 확산은 수용적 관점에서 많은 연구자들에게 관심거리였으며 신기술 수용후의 사용행동에 대한 설명을 위해 사용-확산(use-diffusion) 패러다임이 제시되었다. 본 연구는 새로운 마케팅 도구로서의 의료 웹사이트와 어플리케이션에 대한 소비자들의 사용유형과 지속적 사용의도를 파악하기 위해 사용확산모형을 바탕으로 의료정보의 품질, 의료 웹사이트와 어플리케이션의 사용성, 개인의 혁신성, 주관적 규범 등 사용량과 사용다양성의 선행변수로 보았다. 연구결과 주관적 규범이 의료 웹사이트나 어플리케이션의 사용량에 미치는 영향을 제외하고 모든 선행변수들이 사용다양성과 사용량에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 사용량과 사용다양성의 사용유형은 의료 웹사이트와 어플리케이션이라는 새로운 의료 온라인마케팅 도구에 대한 지속적 사용과 유의한 연관성이있음을 알 수 있었다.
