  • In dance sport, hip movement is the most basic and essential technique, connecting the body movements to make the body move organically, and providing an overall balance of body movements. From that perspective, this study focused on the Cucarachas movement, representing a series of efficient hip movements in the center of gravity. For the purposes of this study, 4 dance sport participants who had won prizes at international contests were selected in order to analyze such variables as the radius of gyration (shift) on the hips and the shift of the center of gravity when scapula depression was performed and when it was not. To examine differences in these kinematic variables, a paired t-test was conducted, resulting in the following findings: First, the dancers were found to be able to control scapula depression, and a significant difference was observed in the vertical axis(Z) between the times when scapula depression was performed and when it was not. Second, when scapula depression was performed, shifts in the left-right axis(X) and anterior-posterior axis(Y) were found; the left-right axis showed a greater difference than the anterior-posterior axis. Third, scapula depression was found to have an influence on the shift to the left-right axis(X) of the center of gravity.

  • This study was to investigate the influence of cooling on muscle force and viscoelastic properties of tendon structures in themedial gastrocnemius (MG) muscle. The subject was instructed to gradually increase force (10% MVC step) from a relaxed state to MVC within 3 s. At this time, it was measured by an ultrasonographic probe was attached and that an electrode was attached to monitor EMG. The F values at 50 100% of MVC were significantly greater under the cold condition than under the non-cold condition (p<.05). The ${\Delta}F/{\Delta}L$ values at 80~100% of MVC were significantly higher under the cold condition than under the non-cold condition (p<.05). The elongation under the non-cold condition had a tendency to be greater than that under the cold condition. The results suggest that cooling results in an increase in the stiffness of tendon structures with a reduction of muscle force and elongation.

  • Background and Objectives: Intense exercise (IE) induced myocardial fibrosis (MF) showed contradictory findings in human studies, making the relationship between IE and the development of MF unclear. This study aims to demonstrate exercise induced MF is associated with cardiac damage, and inflammation is essential to the development of exercise induced MF. Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were submitted to daily 60-minutes treadmill exercise sessions at vigorous or moderate intensity, with 8-, 12-, and 16-week durations; time-matched sedentary rats served as controls. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to measure serum cardiac troponin I (cTnI) concentration. After completion of the exercise protocol rats were euthanized. Biventricular morphology, ultrastructure, and collagen deposition were then examined. Protein expression of interleukin $(IL)-1{\beta}$ and monocyte chemotactic protein (MCP)-1 was evaluated in both ventricles. Results: After IE, right but not left ventricle (LV) MF occurred. Serum cTnI levels increased and right ventricular damage was observed at the ultrastructure level in rats that were subjected to long-term IE. Leukocyte infiltration into the right ventricle (RV) rather than LV was observed after long-term IE. Long-term IE also increased protein expression of proinflammation factors including $IL-1{\beta}$ and MCP-1 in the RV. Conclusions: Right ventricular damage induced by long-term IE is pathological and the following inflammatory response is essential to the development of exercise induced MF.

  • The stability of protein tissues and protein fibers in the human muscle is investigated in the presented paper. The protein fibers are modeled via tube structures embedded in others proteins fibers like the elastic substrate. Physical sport and physical exercise play an important role in the stability of synthesis and strength of the protein tissues. In physical exercise, the temperature of the body increases, and this temperature change impacts the stability of the protein tissues, which is the aim of the current study. The mathematical simulation of the protein tissues is done based on the mechanical sciences, and the protein fibers are modeled via wire structures according to the high-order theory beams. The thermal stress due to the conditions of the sport is applied to the nanoscale protein fibers, then the stability regarding the frequency analysis is investigated. Finally, the impact of temperature change, physical exercise, and small-scale parameters on the stability of the protein tissues are examined in detail.
