Objectives:This study was conducted to investigate variables related to children's depression, and also the relationships between children's depression and parents' depression. Methods:258 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Taegu, and their parents were asked to complete self-report questionnaires including the children's depression Inventory(CDI) and the Beck's depression Inventory(BDI). Correlation analysis, T-test, One-way ANOVA were used for the statistical analysis and the statistically significant level is p<0.05. Results:1) CDI mean for total children is $13.5{\pm}6.77$, BDI mean for their mother is $13.3{\pm}7.25$, and BDI mean for their father is $11.6{\pm}7.03$. 2) There are significant differences in CDI for children variables related to sex, health, school achievement, economic status. 3) Mother's health slightly affect children's depression, but there are no significant differences in CDI for parents' education, religion, father's health. 4) Children's school achievement and economic status among variables related to children affect mother's BDI scores and children's school achievement affect father's BDI scores. 5) For CDI item analysis, there are significant differences in 10 items for children's sex, in 8 items for health, and in 6 items for economic status. Especially, there are significant differences in 20 items among 27 items for children's school achievement. 6) There is significant correlation between parents' BDI scores and children's CDI scores, and especially high correlation to mother for both boys and girls. Conclusion:Children's depression are significantly affected by children's sex, health, school achievement, economic status. And especially school achievement affect grossly children's depression and their mother's depression, so we know that children and their mother have much burden about school achievement. There is high correlation between children's depression and parents'(especially mother) depression. Therefore, these result imply that in the therapy for children's depression, we must include not only children's problems but also parents' depression and parent-children relationship.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop a school-centered healthy eating environment for children in elementary care classrooms and prevent incorrect eating habits and obesity through the development and application of standardized healthy eating habit-forming educational materials. Methods: Ten schools in eight districts of Gyeonggi-do and 400 students from 19 care classes were selected. Based on the developed educational materials, the program was applied to students once in two weeks. 'Notices for Parents' forms were also sent to the students' home to educate their parents. Pre and post-surveys were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the education. The pre-education, education, and aftercare were conducted from September 28 to September 31, 2016, from October 3 to November 30, 2016, and from December 5 to December 9, 2016, respectively. Results: The healthy eating program for elementary care classes was designed to develop a school-centered healthy eating environment and provide standardized educational material for healthy eating habits. Twelve educational topics were developed: , , , , , , , , , , , and . Moreover, the materials were produced in four forms: for students, for after school caring teachers, for external specialists, and for parents. The effectiveness evaluation was conducted to confirm the application of the program. The average eating habits score was 3.3 ± 0.6, with no significant difference between before and after application. The score of overall satisfaction of the education was 3.9 ± 0.9. The most satisfying content was 'Did you get to know how to eat evenly?'. Significant increases were observed in two contents for parents regarding their children's knowledge changes after the education: 'Five nutrients needed for growing children' and 'Knowing sugar foods and sugar-containing foods'. On the other hand, their educational satisfaction was 3.6 ± 0.6, which was lower than the children's satisfaction. This might be because their education was conducted only through the 'Notices for Parents' form. Conclusions: In the long term, the healthy eating habit-formation education for lower elementary school children is expected to be beneficial. To prevent obesity and establish healthy eating habits of children, it is important to develop healthy eating education programs centered on elementary school aftercare classes, including the development of educational materials and an application system through connection with the home and community.
The purpose of this study were to examine the high school teachers' and parents' perceptions on the evaluation criteria and standard of the school record-focused selection system, and to provide basic data on the development of college admission systems in order to measure student competencies more fairly and accurately. To this end, 102 high school teachers and 68 parents with high school children nationwide were surveyed online. The online questionnaire was produced based on the student screening criteria of J university and consisted largely of the following three areas: 'document evaluation', 'interview evaluation', and 'demographic survey'. The results are as follows. First, both teachers and parents said that the school record-focused selection system is a college admission format that can contribute to the activation of the 2015 revised curriculum. Second, both teachers and parents responded that personality, aptitude and potential are all important factors in document evaluation and interview evaluation. Third, school record-focused selection systems should continue to be maintained in order to promote the 2015 revised curriculum, but securing fairness in the admission process should precede that. Based on the results of the study, suggestions were made in order to improve the college admission system.
This study aimed to investigate how child neglect abuse by parents, children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment influenced boys' and girls' psycho-social maladjustment(aggression, social withdrawal and depression). The subjects were 2,264 elementary school students(boys: 1,180, girls: 1,084) in upper grades participating in the Korea Child Youth Panel Surveys. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlations and hierarchical regressions. The main results of this study were as follows. Firstly, regardless of children's sex, as child abuse levels by parents are higher, so children's aggression levels are higher. Also, children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment moderated the effects of child neglect abuse by parents on both boys' and girls' aggression. But the patters of moderating effects were differed in children's sex. Secondly, child neglect abuse by parents didn't influence boys' and girls' social withdrawal and boys' peer attachment moderated the effects of child neglect by parents on boys' social withdrawal. Finally, child abuse by parents strongly influenced boys' depression, but child neglect by parents strongly influenced girls' depression. Also, there were no moderating effects of children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment on the relation between child abuse neglect by parents, and boys' and girls' depression.
The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary school teachers', students' and their parents' perceptions of new experimental grade $3{\sim}4$ science textbooks and teacher's guides developed by revised national science curriculum. 63 teachers, 436 students and their 448 parents were selected from 9 elementary schools selected as model schools, and were administered the questionnaires of the perceptions of the new science textbooks and/or teacher's guides. The results revealed that many teachers had a rather positive perception of the teacher's guides. In addition, most of the teachers, students and their parents, especially the students and their parents than the teachers, perceived positively the new science textbooks. They also had various views of the strengths and weaknesses of the new science textbooks and/or teacher's guides upon cognitive and motivational/emotional/affective aspects. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program, based on the family life education theory and the needs of the adolescents, for the improvement of the relationship between adolescents and their parents. Aimed to be applicable in the actual school environment, the program was practiced and successfully proved its effectiveness. Named 'Parents and I : Is It Good This Way? Over the Generation Gap', the program is composed of themes such as 'Understanding the importance of the parent-child relationship', 'Understanding parents', and 'Having friendly communication with parents', and was practiced five times, once every week, at H girls' high school located in Seoul. An evaluation was done on adolescents to see the effectiveness of the parent-child relationship improvement program: there was a meaningful distinction between the results of the pre-test and the post-test. The participants responded that they could have a chance to understand their mid-aged parents and to express their feelings and thoughts, and evaluated that the anger-control program was a training for them to express their emotions in a rational way.

For effective education of children with disability, education in school and home have to be performed consistently. That is, Schools have to inform parents of educational philosophy, management policy, instruction curriculum, school information of students with disability, and guidance methods thus consistent environment for education have to be provided at home. Furthermore, keeping close relation with school, parents have to solve problems occurred at home together. This paper aims to develop in educational information system from which parents could get useful information to guide their children. Our system was developed to be used in wireless internet environment using mobile phone as well as win internet using PC. Therefore, parents of children with disability could instantly get necessary information from it without restriction of time arid space.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of the quality of school meals by parents of kindergarten children in Seoul, analyze the acceptance price and the optimal school meal cost using PSM (price sensitivity measurement) techniques, and provide basic data for improving the quality of kindergarten meals. The survey was conducted using descriptive statistics and PSM analysis of the responses of 1,272 parents of 779 kindergarten children belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education from April to May 2021 and prior research analysis related to kindergarten meals. 74.1% of the parents surveyed were women, with 61% of children attending kindergartens attached to elementary schools, followed by private kindergartens (28.9%) and public kindergartens (10.1%). According to a study of the quality of meals, private kindergarten parents are highly satisfied with all the quality attributes of meals, such as "sanitation of dining environment" and "nutritionally balanced food" (p<0.001, p<0.01). The analysis of the acceptance price range and the optimal price for school meals showed that there was no significant variation based on the type of kindergarten establishment, with parents' acceptance price range ranging from 3,596 won to 4,454 won with an optimal price of 3,948 won.
The purpose of this study, which was conducted as a part of investigations for vitalizing the School Sheriff system proposed as a means to prevent school violence and promote school safety, was to survey recognition of elementary school parents toward the School Sheriff system and present an improvement scheme for the system. For the study, we selected as the research object a set of parents whose children attended schools with School Sheriffs and then sampled 200 parents out of them with cluster random sampling, before analyzing 189 finally. Validity of the questionnaire is verified by expert council and factorial analysis, and reliability by reliability analysis. Statistical means including chi-square test, t-test and F-test are used. The result of the study as follows : First, necessity of the School Sheriff system varies by individual characteristics. Second, recognition toward the system itself varies by individual characteristics. Third, recognition toward the role that should be played by School Sheriffs varies by individual characteristics. Fourth, there is a difference in perceiving the role and activity of School Sheriffs, Fifth, whether the system helped improving school safety varies by individual characteristics. Sixth, the satisfaction from the School Sheriffs.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the changes in perception concerning nutrition labeling and students' availability of processed foods and is to investigate parents' awareness of nutrition labeling through the 'Education program on safety management of children's dietary life' conducting directly to the fifth grade elementary school students (4,105 persons) by the nutrition teacher in each school. The part that checked when purchasing processed food before and after the students' education, the name of manufacturer (p<0.05), raw material and content (p<0.001), food additives (p<0.001), nutritive components (p<0.05) etc. were significantly improved. An idea about nutrition labeling has increased after the education, the question items in 'it is reliable' (p<0.001), 'satisfied' (p<0.01) were significantly increased particularly. In spite of one time education, it showed positive changes such as it can be possible to get desired nutrition information. Thus, although it was one time training conducted in the situation that can not be carried out formal education due to school environment, a variety of practical education of children's dietary life is required targeting comprehensive senior students, the education is considered to be conducted for children as well as parents.
