The purpose of this study was to identify the expectation about school health program of primary school parents as an important variable for growth of school health program fore area locked primary school parents 631 by self-administered questionnaire between June 20 and September 29, 2001 The results were as follows 1. General characteristic of the Subjects Age rates of the subjects were 45.5% on 35~39 years old and 34.7% over 40 years old. Economic status were middle level 86%, participation rates of school health education for parent were 16.8%, recognition rates on significance of school health education were 89.9%. 2. Health knowledge of parents The mean score on health knowledge of the subjects was 6.8 from a total of 10. there was a statistically significant difference with regard to health knowledge among the 7school(F=3.46, p=.016). 3. Health behavior of parents The mean score on health behaviors of the subjects was 77.3 from a total of 100. there was no statistically difference in health behavior among the school. 4. The expectation about school health program of the parents The mean score on the expectation about school health program of the subjects was 51.1 from a total of 140. there was a statistically significant difference with regard to the expe ctation about school health program among the school(F=3.75, p=.010). 5. Health behaviors and the expectation about school health program from sociod emogr aphic Backgrounds of the Subjects. In the backgrounds of the subjects, the score on health behavior was higher the mothers(t=2.89,p=.004), the upper class(F=7.38, p=.000), the higher participation level of school health education of parent(F=7.38, p=.000) and the higher recognition level on significance of school health education of parent(F=9.94, p=.000). The score on the expectation about school health program was higher the lower recognition level on significance of school, health education of parent and on the expectation about health screening & preventive services was significant difference by age. however, the difference was not significant in the others.

This research aimed to observe adolescent children's use of time and to discover the parent-related factors that affect adolescent children's use of time. The subjects included 2,092 fourth-grade elementary school students and 2,108 first-grade middle school students. We used data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. We tested sociodemographic factors, parents characteristics, and time usage, and we studied these factors using SPSS version 23.0; the results are as follows. Firstly, in the subordinate scope of the child-rearing attitude of parents, affection fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 1.83) and first-grade middle school students(M = 2.02). Inconsistency had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 1.99), and first-grade middle school students(M = 2.12). Excessive expectations had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 2.40) and first-grade middle school students(M = 2.55). Over-involvement had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 2.68)and first-grade middle school students(M = 2.80). Finally, giving reasonable explanations had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 1.51)and first-grade middle school students(M = 1.68). Secondly, in fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 463.35) and first-grade middle school students(M = 378.75). Further, studying hours during weekdays had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 456.15) and first-grade middle school students(M = 460.86). Free activity hours during had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 390.54) and first-grade middle school students(M = 387.11). Sleeping hours during holidays had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 544.85) and first-grade middle school students (M = 511.74). Studying hours during holidays had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students (M = 484.86) and first-grade middle school students (M = 511.74). Free activity hours during holidays had an effect on fourth-grade elementary school students(M = 518.68) and first-grade middle school students(M = 509.73). Thirdly, by observing the relative influence of related factors on adolescent children's use of time, grade(${\beta}$ = -.284), gender(${\beta}$ = -.208), over-involvement(${\beta}$ = -.380), supervising(${\beta}$ = -.217), and (${\beta}$ = .243) in terms of the child-rearing attitudes of parents was found to affect study hours($F=2.595^{**}$). The education level of fathers(${\beta}$ = -.144) results in(${\beta}$ = 1.991) and longer free activity hours for children($F= 4.116^{***}$). This research can be used to study the influence of parents'child-rearing attitudes on adolescent children's use of time and to suggest the role of parents in adolescents' ability to manage time effectively using practical.

Background and objectives: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection globally and is responsible for multiple clinical outcomes, including genital warts and cervical, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers. Despite the well established burden of HPV on both men and women, vaccine uptake among men is critically low in Korea. A preliminary step to combat this issue is to target parents of male adolescents. In the present study, we aimed to assess any change observed in parents' HPV knowledge and attitudes towards male HPV and subsequent willingness to vaccinate their sons following an HPV educational intervention. Methods: On November 14, 2020, a one-time HPV educational session was conducted and parents (n=136) completed self-administered pre-/post-test questionnaires that included previously validated survey items. Paired t-tests were used to evaluate change in HPV-related knowledge, attitudes and intent for HPV vaccination. Results: Following the intervention, participants reported increased scores in HPV and vaccine related knowledge by approximately 4 and 1.5 points, respectively (p<.001). Parents scored higher on perceived benefits of the vaccine, perceived social influence on vaccination decision and perceived severity of diseases caused by HPV infections, whereas lower scores were observed for perceived harm of the vaccine, and difficulties communicating with their sons about sex and HPV vaccination. Following the intervention, those without the intent to vaccinate their sons significantly decreased and those who intended to vaccinate their sons though not in the next six months significantly increased (χ2=33.045, p<.001) Conclusion: Our educational intervention resulted in an increase in HPV-related knowledge with a positive impact on parents' attitudes toward male HPV vaccination. We expect that this study can serve as a pivotal reference to promote the unexplored issue of HPV vaccination among male adolescents in Korea.
This study tries to investigate the influence of parents' neglect on adolescents' school adjustment, and to prove the mediating effects of self-identity and life satisfaction on the relationship between two variables. Data from 5th year(2014) Korean Children and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS) on 2035 nation-wide second year middle school students was analyzed by utilizing Regression analysis and path analysis. Results of the analysis showed first, parents' neglect had a negative effect on adolescents' self-identity, life satisfaction, and school adjustment. Second, adolescents' school adjustment improved with their self-identity and life satisfaction included as mediating effects. Third, the effect of parents' neglect on adolescents' school adjustment was partly mediated by the effects of subject's self-identity and life satisfaction. Furthermore, the need for program development to enhance adolescents' self-identity, life satisfaction and school adjustment was suggested.

The purpose of this study is to find out the specific needs of 1st graders for parents and homeroom teachers. The research questions of this study are as follows. Research question 1. What does 1st grader want from parents? Research question 2. What does the 1st grader want for the homeroom teacher? There were 31 participants. Data collection was conducted by focus group interview. Requests for parents are summarized as 'what 1st graders want from parents', and requests for teachers are summarized as 'what 1st graders want from homeroom teacher'. As the detailed topics of 'What 1st graders want from parents' are 'I have too much work to do, so I want to reduce it', 'Don't just scold me' 'Like in kindergarten, play with me' and 'I'm so hard. Take care of me'. As the detailed topics of 'what 1st graders want from homeroom teacher.' are 'At first it was exciting', 'Scary teacher, I hate it', 'Friendly teacher, good', 'Teacher, please praise me' and 'Teacher, please teach me fun'. We revealed that the emotional support of parents and homeroom teachers is important for 1st graders to successfully adapt to elementary school.
The purpose of this study was to develop an educational app that informs parents of elementary students with correct information on pesticide residue based on their awareness and information needs on pesticide residue. A survey was conducted from 918 parents living in 8 different districts of Korea. The results of the survey indicated that a majority of parents felt uncomfortable with pesticide residue and wanted to have the proper information regarding it. Based on the above results, an app named 'Perfect Conquest of Pesticide Residue' consisting of 5 main menus of 'Pesticide residue, Is it safe?', 'Safe management of pesticide residue', 'Perfect removal of pesticide residue on fruits and vegetables through washing', 'Shopping without anxiety', 'Playground' and their own sub-menus was developed. When the app was applied to 30 parents using smart phones, a majority of them were satisfied with the contents of detailed information and fun activities. Therefore, this app could be utilized as an effective educational tool for the parents of elementary students by allowing them to have proper awareness on pesticide residue. Furthermore, more apps could be developed on other food risk factors to promote safe dietary life.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship of family related variables with adolescents'delinquent behaviors. Family related variables were consisted of (a) family's general characteristics (j.e., occupation, income, etc.) and (b) family relationship charateristics (j.e.. parents'child rearing attitude, parents' marital relationship, and communication level between parents and adolescent children) . Adolescents'delinquent behaviors were also analyzed according to adolescents'general charateristics such as sex, grade, birth order, school achievement level, and religion. The data were collected from 577 middle and high school students in Chonju by using self-administered questionnaire method. Results showed that there were significant differences in the frequency level of adolescents'delinquent behaviors across adolescents'sex, grade, birth order, school achievement level, and religion, and across mother's occupation. and subjective living level. The delinquent behaviors were also negatively correlated with most of family relationship characteristics. Results of multiple regression analyses indicated that communication of adolescent children with their father and mother's child rearing attitude were most significant variables influencing adolescents'delinquent behaviors.

The purpose of this study was to investigate junior high school students' and their parents' interests, preferences, and positive perceptions regarding Korean traditional food. This study may be used to provide the basic information for establishing an educational program about Korean traditional food. The self-administered questionnaires for students and their parents were used to examine the general characteristics of participants, perceptions of Korean traditional food, and experiences with traditional food at home. The data was analyzed by t-test and Chi-square test. The results are as follows. First, most students had a lower interest, preference, and positive perception of Korean traditional food than their parents. Second, the perception of traditional food among students was influenced by their experience with traditional food at home and the perceptions of their parents. Therefore, in order to keep and develop the Korean traditional food culture, an educational program for students as well as their parents to teach the advantages and the values of Korean traditional food, is needed. An educational program would help students have a more positive perception of Korean traditional food. In addition, this may encourage parents to serve more traditional foods at home and would increase the interest in eating and cooking Korean food. Thus, establishing an educational program could be a successful method for maintaining the Korean traditional food heritage for future generations.
Objectives : To investigate the effect of parents' social class on infant and child mortality rates among the birth cohort, for the period of transition to and from the Koran economic crisis 1995-2004. Methods : All births reported to between 1995 and 2004 (n=5,711,337) were analyzed using a Cox regression model, to study the role of the social determinants of parents in infant and child mortality. The results were adjusted for the parents' age, education and occupation, together with mother's obstetrical history. Results. The crude death rate among those under 10 was 3.71 per 1000 births (21,217 deaths among 5,711,337 births) between 1995 and 2004. The birth cohorts from lower educated parents less than elementary school showed higher mortality rates compared with those from higher educated parents over university level (HR:3.0 (95%CI:2.8-3.7) for father and HR:3.4 (95%CI:3.3-4.5) for mother). The mother's education level showed a stronger relationship with mortality among the birth cohort than that of the fathers. The gaps in infant mortality rates by parents' social class, and educational level became wider from 1995 to 2004. In particular, the breadth of the existing gap between higher and lower parents' social class groups has dramatically widened since the economic crisis of 1998. Discussions : This study shows that social differences exist in infant and child mortality rates. Also, the gap for the infant mortality due to social class has become wider since the economic crisis of 1998.
Objectives: Grounded in a life-course perspective, this study examined the effects of non-coresident children's transitions to marriage and parenthood on the frequency of contact with their parents. Gender of adult children and the educational levels of both adult children and their parents were evaluated as potential moderators of the transition-contact linkages. Method: The analytic sample consisted of adult children aged between 20 and 50 whose parents participated in four waves of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012). For analysis, fixed effects regression models were estimated using the xtreg procedure in Stata. Results: First, transition to marriage was associated with a decrease in face-to-face contact, whereas a greater increase in contact with parents via phone, mail, email etc. occurred only among newly married with less than college education compared to the newlywed with college degrees. Second, transition to parenthood was associated with an increase in contact via phone, mail, email etc. In addition, a greater increase in face-to-face contact was found with parents who completed high school or more education compared to those with less than high school education. Conclusions: The findings suggest that adult children's transitions to marriage and parenthood may bring about increases in contact with their parents, particularly for adult children with less than college education and parents with more than high school education.
