최근 데이터베이스를 이용한 정보처리응용 시스템이 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 그러나 많은 데이터를 가지고 있지만 개별적이면서 관련성이 적은 수많은 데이터를 가지는 기업은 데이터를 종합적으로 분석 처리하여 사용자 요구에 신속하게 응답할 수 있도록 다양하고 고품질의 정보 서비스를 지원하기 위한 데이터를 필요로 한다 이를 위해 데이터 웨어하우스 환경에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 최종 사용자 요구에 대처하기 위해 비주얼 환경을 사용한 데이터 웨어하우스의 효과적인 설계 및 구현 결과를 보인다. 또한 기존의 일반 SQL질의를 수행할 수 있도록 한다.

This paper proposes a form-based distributed database design methodology ($FD^3$). The methodology consists of five design phases such as (i) form requirement analysis (ii) schema integration (iii) distribution analysis (iv) distribution design, and (v) local logical/physical design. In the $FD^3$, all the important design information for each phase is obtained by using an organizations forms, Users requirements are analyzed by using forms that contain logical and quantitative information for distribution design. $FD^3$ resolves naming conflicts by employing SQLs based on the form field data in the schema integration phase. Furthermore, $FD^3$ enhances the quality of distributed database design by incorporating communication costs into the design model. A real-life case is illustrated to demonstrate the usefulness of the $FD^3$.

본 연구에서는 각 지역 데이터베이스에 저장되어 있는 컨텐츠들을 통합 관리할 수 있는 컨텐츠 통합 관리 시스템을 개발하였다. 컨텐츠 통합 관리 시스템은 각 지역 데이터베이스에 저장되어 있는 컨텐츠들의 저장 스키마를 표준화된 XML 문서로 변환하여 통합된 전역 데이터베이스를 생성한다. 본 연구에서 개발한 컨텐츠 통합 관리 시스템은 컨텐츠의 지속적인 확보를 위해 서로 다른 환경에서 저장되고 운영되고 있는 컨텐츠를 통합관리 할 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 제시한다.

The rapid growth of Hardware technologies and Network fitted to us Ubiquitous Computing Life[1]. Ubiquitous Computing integrates computation into the environment, rather than having computers which are distinct objects. There are many computational things like a Sensor Network, RFID, GPS, Mobile devices, and so on. Ubiquitous Data Integration and Management are new paradigms. The goals of UDI Service Platform are data protection for the distributed data on pervasive computing devices and data distribution to appropriate users with best distribution policies. To implement the idea we evaluate the logical schema Cyber View that is a management tool.

인터넷을 통한 웹서비스에 대한 사용자들의 요구가 증가하고 다양해지면서 정보들을 수집하고 통합하여 특정집단 또는 일반인들의 의사결정을 지원하기 위한 인터넷 데이터웨어하우스에 대한 중요성이 갈수록 증대되고 있다. 초기의 인터넷 데이터웨어하우스는 기존의 데이터베이스와 XML을 이용한 형태로 연구되었으나, 정보 표현상의 한계로 인하여 점차 RDFS와 같은 메타데이터 스키마를 이용한 시스템 형태로 변화하고 있다. 인터넷의 특성상 분산된 시스템 환경에서 서로 상이한 메타데이터 스키마들을 통합과 저장이 중요한 요소이다. 그러나, 서로 상이한 스키마간에는 충돌할 수 있는 요소들이 존재하므로 지역 스키마들 간에 발생할 수 있는 의미적, 구조적 충돌을 감지하고 고려하여 저장이나 질의 처리 등에서 완벽한 처리가 가능하도록 시스템을 구성하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같이 분산된 환경에서 지역 메타데이터 스키마들 간의 통합시 충돌이 발생하는 경우를 분석하고, 이에 따른 충돌 해결 기법을 제시하여 완벽한 스키마 통합이 가능하도록 한다.

현재 악보에 대한 DTD(Document Type Definition) 정의는 응용에 따라 그 종류가 다양하게 연구되어 왔으며 또한 정의된 DTD를 XML Schema로 자동 변환하는 방법들이 진행되고 있다. 그리고 연구되어온 DTD 정의 구조는 악보 상에 존재하는 음악 정보들이 각각 독려된 형식을 유지하도록 표현하는 데 집중되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 악보의 기본 구성 요소가 소절(Measure:마디)인 점을 이용하여 소절 단위내 관련된 정보를 일련의 연속 문자열 값으로 표현하는 방법을 제안하고 이를 위한 XML Schema를 모델링 하였다 또한 제안된 방법에 의해 표현된 XML 인스턴스에서 음악 정보를 추출하는 메카니즘을 제시하였다. 그 결과 연속된 문자열 값들을 가지는 XML Schema 정의가 가능했으며, 제안된 방식을 적용한 인스턴스는 기존 방식의 인스턴스들 보다 검색식(XPATH) 표현의 단순화 및 검색 단계를 줄여 그 효율성이 기대된다. 또한 사람에 의한 직접 표현 능력이 가능하며, 인스턴스 크기가 작아짐을 알 수 있었다.

물류환경에 있어서, 데이터베이스의 연계와 데이터베이스 통합의 문제는 매우 중요한 과제로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나, 여기에 대한 빈번한 문제제기에 비해 합리적인 데이터베이스 통합방안에 관한 학술적 측면의 연구는 아직까지 매우 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 효과적인 DB통합법과 관련하여 개체 및 속성 간의 유사도 측정에 기반을 둔 계량화된 충돌 식별법을 제안하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로, DB 통합 시 빈번히 발생하는 의미적 충돌(Semantic Conflict)현상인 이른바 "Name Conflict"의 식별을 위한 하나의 해결법으로서 개체 및 속성 간 종합적인 유사도를 측정하는 계량화된 식별법을 제안하고자 한다. 그리고, 간단한 예제를 통해 제안한 방안의 유효성과 식별방안을 가늠해 보고자 한다.

There have been several research efforts to support interoperability among multiple databases. In integrating multiple databases, we must resolve schema conflicts due to the heterogeneity in databases. To resolve these conflicts, not only meta-data for database schemas but also general knowledge expressing the real world meanings associated with the database schemas are required. This paper presents a uniform representation method for relational schema and general knowledge base that is composed, among other things, of concept hierarchy and thematic roles in relationship, using the knowledge representation language Lk. This representation method has a flexible descriptive power which facilitates concepts to be expressed at different levels of granularity and can describe knowledge expressed in Lk are used for input of the next step, such as conflict resolution and query processing of multiple database.

Effectively integrating information systems in mergers and acquisitions of large organizations can be critical to merger success. But the general literature on M&A focuses on the financial aspects of the acquisition process, rather than on the subsequent process of integration. This paper analyses the case of information systems integration in a merger of two Korean manufacturing organizations, and explores the factors influencing IS integration in M&A in Korea. To analysis this case and find factors affecting IS integration success, we use MIT'90s schema (framework) by Scott Morton that consists of 5 dimensions (strategy, processes, structure, individuals/roles, and technology). From the results of this case study, we found 13 factors and 14 propositions influencing IS integrations performance in M&A in Korean companies. This research helps the company to avoid mistakes and to manage IS integration in M&A. Also this study provides guide line for further researches.

현재 생물학 분야에는 단백질이라는 동일한 대상에 대해 각기 고유한 의미를 지니고 있는 다양한 형태의 단백질 분석 데이타베이스들이 존재한다. 이렇게 산재되어 있는 이종의 단백질 정보들을 효과적으로 통합한다면 개개의 데이터베이스로부터는 얻을 수 없는 유용한 정보를 도출해낼 수 있다. 생물학 데이타의 특성상 이 각각의 정보들은 자신만의 고유한 형태와 의미를 지니는데, 시맨틱 웹 기술의 표준인 RDF(S) 모델을 이용하여 데이타를 기술하면 형태론적인 통합뿐만 아니라 의미론적인 통합까지 이루어낼 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 RDF 통합 스키마에 기반한 새로운 통합 레이어(layer)를 제안하였다. 이를 위해 개념적 모델 차원으로서는 단백질 정보를 중심으로 통합 스키마를 구축하였고, 표현적 모델 차원으로 서는 래퍼(wrapper)가 해당 데이터베이스들로부터 필요한 정보를 취하여 동적으로 RDF 인스턴스를 구축하는 방법을 제안하였다. 실제로 이 통합 레이어는 연구자들이 필요로 하는 통합 질의 예제를 성공적으로 처리하여 그 결과를 보여줄 수 있음을 확인하였다.
