In this paper, we report on the obtention of nanocrystalline $SrMoO_4$ synthesized through modified combustion process. These powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier Transform Raman and Infrared Spectroscopy. These studies reveal that the scheelite-type $SrMoO_4$ crystallizes in tetragonal structure with I41/${\alpha}$ (N#88) space group. Transmission electron microscopy image shows that the nanocrystalline $SrMoO_4$ powders have average size of 18 nm. The optical band gap determined from the UV-V is absorption spectra for the as prepared sample is 3.7 eV. These powders showed a strong green photoluminescence emission. The samples are sintered at a relatively low temperature of $850^{\circ}C$. The morphology of the sintered pellet is studied with scanning electron microscopy. The dielectric constant and loss factor values obtained at 5 MHz for a well sintered $SrMoO_4$ pellet has been found to be 9.50 and $7.5{\times}10^{-3}$ respectively. Thus nano $SrMoO_4$ is a potential candidate for low temperature co-fired ceramics and luminescent applications.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the ore genesis and occurrence of the Wondong polymetallic mineral deposits. The Pb-Zn, Fe and W-Mo mineralizations are found in skarn zones which formed mainly in or along the fault shear zones with the $N25-40^{\circ}W$ and $N10-50^{\circ}E$ directions, whereas the Cu-Mo mineralization is appeared hydrothermal replacement zone. The skarn minerals consist mainly of garnet and epidote, which were the last alteration phases between pneumatolytic and hydrothermal stages. The mineral paragenesis toward the late stage are as follows: arsenopyrite, scheelite, magnetite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and molybdenite. Average ore grades are 0.33 g/t Au, 46.29 g/t Ag, 0.06% Cu, 4.4% Pb, 2.61% Zn and 29.39% Fe in tunnels, and 0.31 % Cu, 0.52% Pb, 6.29% Zn, 29.29% Fe, 0.03% Mo and 0.12% $WO_3$ in drill cores. Fluid inclusion data shows that Type I (liquid-rich), Type II (vapor-rich) and Type III (halite-bearing) inclusions are coexisted and their homogenization temperatures are quite similar. This indicates that boiling conditions have been reached during the mineralization. It is also likely that the ore solutions were evolved through the mixing between magmatic and meteoric waters. Rhyolite and quartz porphyry far the mineralization probably are not responsible of the Wondong polymetallic mineral deposits.

One-pot hydrothermal route was adopted to synthesize Al:BiVO4, at 4 h and 8 h reaction durations, by adding 1% aluminiumoxide powder (w/v) to the precursors. The products were investigated using several characterization techniques that conform a significant morphological change and a decrease in bandgap energy of the materials upon Al modification of scheelite monoclinic bismuth vanadate matrix at both hydrothermal durations. Antibacterial experiments were performed against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in visible light condition to harness the photoxidation property of Al-doped BiVO4 and compare to that of unaltered BiVO4. Minimum inhibitory concentration of the synthesized materials was identified. The results indicate that Al-doping on BiVO4 has a significant effect on its photocatalytic antibacterial performance. Al:BiVO4 synthesized at 8 h hydrothermal treatment parades excellent sunlight-driven photocatalysis compared to the one synthesized at 4 h.
In this study,. the microwave dielectric properties of the $0.6TiTe_3O_8-0.4CaWO_4$ ceramics with sintering temperature were investigated for LTCC application. According to the X-ray diffraction patterns, the $0.6TiTe_3O_8-0.4CaWO_4$ ceramics had columbite structure of the $TiTe_3O_8$ phase and scheelite structure of the $CaWO_4$ phase. Increasing the sintering temperature, the bulk density, the dielectric constant and the quality factor of the $0.6TiTe_3O_8-0.4CaWO_4$ ceramics were increased. In the case of the $0.6TiTe_3O_8-0.4CaWO_4$ ceramics sintered at $810^{\circ}C$, the bulk density, the dielectric constant and the quality factor were 5.72$g/cm^2$, 33.6, 22,013GHz respectively.
Because of its unique properties, tungsten is a strategic and rare metal used in various industrial applications. However, the world's annual production of tungsten is only 84000 t. Ammonium paratungstate (APT), which is used as the main intermediate in industrial tungsten production, is usually obtained from tungsten concentrates of wolframite and scheelite by hydrometallurgical treatment. Intermediates such as tungsten trioxide, tungsten blue oxide, tungstic acid, and ammonium metatungstate can be derived from APT by thermal decomposition or chemical attack. Tungsten metal powder is produced through the hydrogen reduction of high-purity tungsten oxides, and tungsten carbide powder is produced by the reaction of tungsten powder and carbon black powder at 1300-1700℃ in a hydrogen atmosphere. Tungsten scrap can be divided into hard and soft scrap based on shape (bulk or powder). It can also be divided into new scrap generated during the production of tungsten-bearing goods and old scrap collected at the end of life. Recycling technologies for tungsten can be divided into four main groups: direct, chemical, and semi-direct recycling, and melting metallurgy. In this review, the current status of tungsten smelting and recycling technologies is discussed.
Two types of Tb- and Na-substituted green phosphors $Ca_{(1-1.5x)}WO_4:Tb_x^{3+}$: and $Ca_{(1-2x)}WO_4:Tb_x^{3+},Na_x^+$ were synthesized with various x values, using a solid-state reaction. The former phosphors contained both substitutional and vacancy point defects, while the later had only substitutional defects. X-ray diffraction results showed that the main diffraction peak, (112), was centered at $2{\theta}=28.72^{\circ}$ and indicated that there was no basic structural deformation caused by substitutions or vacancies. The photoluminescence emission and photoluminescence excitation spectra revealed the optical properties of trivalent terbium ions, $Tb^{3+}$. Typical transitions, $^5D_3{\rightarrow}^7F_6,\;^7F_5,\;^7F_4$ and $^5D_4{\rightarrow}^7F_6,\;^7F_5,\;^7F_4,\;^7F_3$, and cross relaxations were observed. Subtle differences in the photoluminescence of green phosphors were observed as a result of the point defects. The FT-IR spectra indicated that some of the ungerade vibrational modes had shifted positions and changed shapes, spreading out over a wide range of frequencies. This change can be attributed to the different masses of $Tb^{3+}$ and $Na^+$ ions and $V_{Ca}$" vacancies compared to $Ca^{2+}$ ions. The gerade normal modes of the Raman spectra exhibited subtle differences resulting from point defects in $Ca_{(1-1.5x)}Tb_xWO_4$ and $Ca_{(1-2x)}Tb_xNa_xWO_4$.
Chongyang tungsten ore deposits, one of the most important tungsten mines in South Korea, me open space filling hydrothermal vein deposits embedded in Precambrian biotite gneiss and, Cretaceous (?) granite porphyry. Some wolframite-bearing quartz veins are closely associated with -quartz porphyries which strike about $N15^{\circ}-25^{\circ}W$ and dip $800^{\circ}SE$ to vertical. Mineralization took place in near vertical vein systems of 5 to 2000 meter long in the biotite gneiss and granite porphyry stock during early Cretaceous and Tertiary (?) period. The hydrothermal mineral paragensis has indicated that there were two major stages: vein and vug stages. The principal vein mineral is wolframite in a gangue of quartz with small amount of fluorite, pyrite, beryl and carbonate minerals. Present in minor amounts are molybdenite, bithmuthinite, native bismuth, arsenopyrite, galena, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite and scheelite. Fluid inclusion study from the minerls at Chongyang mine reveals that vein stage fluids attained a temperature range of $200^{\circ}C-355^{\circ}C$ and vug stage $160^{\circ}C-350^{\circ}C$. The filling temperatures show the higher range of $200^{\circ}-355^{\circ}C$ in quartz and $280^{\circ}C-348^{\circ}C$ in beryls, whereas the lower emperature range of $283^{\circ}C-295^{\circ}C$ in rhodochrosite and $160^{\circ}-253^{\circ}C$ in fluorites. These temperatures are in reasonably good agreement with mineral paragnesis in this ore deposits. Volfamite minerals were analysed for major components. $WO_3$, MnO and FeO by wet chemical method. Chemical analysis indicates that they contain 70.56-71.54% $WO_3$, 8.52-10.01% MnO and 10.00-11.58% FeO. MnO/FeO ratios of wolframites shows the range of 0.78-0.94 which maybe indicates a comparatively high temperature type of hydrothermal deposits.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the dispersion pattern of gold during skarnization and genesis of gold mineralization in the Sangdong skarn deposits. The Sangdong scheelite orebodies are embedded in the Cambrian Pungchon Limestone and limestone interbedded in the Myobong Slate of the Cambrian age. The tungsten deposits are classified as the Hangingwall Orebody, the Main Orebody and the Footwall Orebody as their stratigraphic locations. Recently, the Sangdong granite of the Cretaceous age (85 Ma) were found by underground exploratory drillings below the orebodies. In geochemisty, the W, Mo, Bi and F concentrations in the granite are significantly higher than those in the Cretaceous granitoids in southern Korea. Highest gold contents are associated with quartz-hornblende skarn in the Main Orebody and pyroxene-hornblende skarn in the Hangingwall Orebody. Also Au contents are closely related to Bi contents. This could be inferred that Au skarns formed from solutions under reduced environment at a temperature of $270^{\circ}C$. According to the multiple regression analysis, the variation of Au contents in the Main Orebody can be explained (87.5%) by Ag, As, Bi, Sb, Pb, Cu. Judging from the mineralogical, chemical and isotope studies, the genetic model of the deposits can be suggested as follows. The primitive Sangdong magma was enriched in W, Mo, Au, Bi and volatiles (metal-carriers such as $H_2O$, $CO_2$ and F). During the upward movement of hydrothermal ore solution, the temperature was decreased, and W deposits were formed at limestone (in the Myobong Slate and Pungchon Limestone). In addition, meteoric water influx gave rise to the retrogressive alterations and maximum solubility of gold, and consequently higher grade of Au mineralization was deposited.
Ssangjeon tungsten ore deposits is a complex pegmatite deposits embedded along the contact between pre-Cambrian Buncheon granite gneiss and amphibolite. This pegmatite vein developed 2 km along the strike and thickness varies from 10m to 40m. Mineral constituent of the normal pegmatite are quartz, microcline, plagioclase, muscovite, biotite, tourmaline and garnet. The vein paragenesis is complicated by repeated deposition of quartz but three distinct depositional stage can be recognized. Quartz A stage is the stage of the earliest milky white quartz deposition as a rock forming mineral of normal pegmatite. Quartz B stage is the stage of gray to dark gray quartz replace earlier formed normal pegmatite minerals. Quartz C stage is the stage of latest white translucent massive quartz replace quartz A and B. Tungsten ore minerals and other sulfide minerals were precipitated during quartz B stage. Ore minerals are ferberite and scheelite. Minor amount of molybdenite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, pentlandite, bismuthinite, native bismuth and marcasite accompanied. Fluid inclusion in quartz A and B are gaseous inclusions and liquid inclusions are contained in quartz C as a primary inclusions. Salinity of inclusions in quartz A and B ranges from 4.5 to 9.5 wt. % and from 5.1 to 6.0 wt. % equivalent NaCl respectively. Homogenization temperature of quartz A; quartz B and quartz C ranges from 415 to $465^{\circ}C$, from 397 to $441^{\circ}C$ and from 278 to $357^{\circ}C$. $CO_2$ content of the ore fluid increased at the ends of quartz B stage.
Microwave dielectric properties of $0.85CaWO_4-0.15LnNbO_4$ (Ln = La, Sm) ceramics were investigated as a function of the sintering temperature and $Li_2WO_4$ content from 0.8 wt.% to 1.5 wt.%. A single phase with tetragonal scheelite structure was obtained at a given composition ranges. For the specimens with $Li_2WO_4$, the sintering temperature could be effectively reduced from $1150^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$ due to the enhancement of sinterability. Dielectric constant (K) of the specimens with $LaNbO_4$ and $SmNbO_4$ was increased with the increase of sintering temperature and/or $Li_2WO_4$ content. However, K of the specimens with $LaNbO_4$ was higher than that of $SmNbO_4$ due to the larger dielectric polarizability $(\alpha)$ of $LaNbO_4$ ($18.08{\AA}$) than that of $SmNbO_4$ ($16.75{\AA}$). With an increase of $Li_2WO_4$ content, Qf value of the specimens with $SmNbO_4$ was decreased, while that of the specimens with $LaNbO_4$ was increased. Temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) was increased with the increase of $Li_2WO_4$ content.
