CSR기반 좌굴 두께 요건을 고려한 이중선체유조선의 종방향 구조부재의 최적설계 연구 (Optimum Design for Longitudinal Strength Members of Double Hull Tankers with Central Long'l Bulkhead considering Buckling Thickness Requirement of Plate Panels based on Common Structural Rules)

  • The buckling assessment of plate panels described in common structural rules (CSR) is to be determined according to the buckling utilization factor with hull girder stresses calculated on net hull girder sectional properties. As the thickness requirement for the buckling assessment of plate panels is not explicitly given in CSR, a lot of time is spent to find the proper thickness of plate panels until reaching to an allowable buckling utilization factor. In this study, in order to reduce time and cost, the thickness requirement of plate panels satisfying buckling assessment was derived. The structural design system included with the thickness requirement for buckling assessment was developed. The system is called as Oil-tanker Automated Structural Investigation System (OASIS). The design result of longitudinal strength members using OASIS was verified by Nauticus Hull which is the rule scantling software of DNV. Finally, optimum design of a double hull tanker for the minimum weight using OASIS was presented.

선박 선저외판의 좌굴특성에 관한 연구 - 보강재의 구속영향 검토 - (Buckling Characteristics of Ship Bottom Plate - On the Stiffener Restraint Effects -)

  • 선저외판은 수압과 동시에 면내 압축력을 받는다. 특히 살물선이 Alternate은 하중상태에서 흘수가 큰 경우, 외판구조는 배길이 및 폭방향의 극심한 압축력과 횡수압을 받기 때문에 설계자가 기존의 선급규정 및 설계기준을 이용하여 선저외판의 치수를 결정하고자 할 때 상당한 어려움을 겪는다. 본 연구에서는 선저 부위의 격자(Grillage)구조물에서 판주의를 둘러싼 보강재의 비틀림 강성을 추가로 고려하여 선저외판의 경계부가 탄성구속이며 면내 및 면외의 복합하중이 작용하는 선저외판의 좌굴강도 평가를 통해 보다 실제적인 선저외판의 치수 결정에 대한 선박 구조설계 측면에서의 타당성을 실적선 자료를 근거로 하여 검토해 보고자 한다. 따라서 경계조건에 따른 판의 탄성좌굴강도의 영향을 특성치 문제로 취급하여 유도된 판의 탄성구속 좌굴계수를 기존의 평가식에 추가로 고려하는 좌굴평가 방법에 근거하여 실적선의 선저외판 치수를 계산하였다. 또한 극심한 면내 및 면외하중과 주변 보강재 효과를 고려하여 상기 계산에 따라 산출된 외판치수에 대한 평가와 다양한 선급 규정에 따른 결과 그리고 1차연구의 방법에 따른 결과를 서로 비교 분석하여 보았으며 이들 각종 평가 결과들을 토대로 실적선 선저외판의 좌굴평가에 대한 실용성을 타진해 보았다.

  • Common Structural Rules (CSR) about bulk carriers and double-hull oil tankers of International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) has been applied to ships contracted for construction since April 2006. By unifying each society's rules, the difference of opinion in the between shipyard and ship owners, classification was reduced, and CSR has been evaluated by rules the safety structure more enhanced. However, The CSR about the bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers, important design content standards, such as the local scantling calculation, static/dynamic load case and corrosion margin and etc., are different. Therefore in order to combine the CSR, the Harmonized CSR for bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers (H-CSR) was issued on 1, January, 2014, and will be apply to ships contracted for construction after 1st July 2015. It is necessary to verify the H-CSR to optimize the structural arrangement because effective date is not far off. In this study, we compared the impact by rule change for the hull girder shear strength of bulk carriers between CSR and H-CSR in respect of the yielding and buckling strength.

Hatch Cover의 유압장치의 선정에 관한 연구 (On the Selection of Hydraulic System for Hatch Cover)

  • In cargo vessels, hatch covers are used to prevent sea water from penetrating into the cargo hold and to keep the vessels buoyant. And also they can be used as cargo loading devices as in container ships. In this paper, hatch covers are classified according to their operation method and their characteristics are briefly demonstrated. Systematic description on the scantling of the hatch cover panel and how to determine the capacity of the hydraulic power system fir folding hatch cover panels are also presented. The hydraulic power system is selected from the result of dynamic analysis of the movements of the hatch cover panels when stored on the upper deck. The hatch coaming height is determined as shortly as the hydraulic cylinders can be installed. This study deals with the hatch cover system of the medium sized multi-purpose cargo vessel, but the results of this study can be applied to large-sized cargo vessels with a slight change of the input data in the calculations. Further research on the high pressure pump, hydraulic cleating system and hydraulic piping will realize domestic production of the whole hatch cover system which have been supplied from foreign makers until now

  • This paper describes basic structural design for the large floating crane barge of fixed undulation type. Structural analysis is performed to divide two parts because crane barge is composed two parts, crane part of jib boom back stay and back tower and barge part to support crane part. The structural strength for jib boom structure members are in compliance with JIS B 8821 and scantling of all barge structural members are in compliance with the requirement of KR (Korean Register of Shipping) Steel Barges and Rules for Classification of Steel Ships. For the structural analysis of large floating crane, MSC/NASTRAN & MSC/PATRAN software is used.

  • 부유식 초대형 해상구조물(VLFS : Very Large Floating Structures)의 구조설계는 대상 구조물의 종류와 그 구조형식 등에 따라 구체적인 설계조건 혹은 설계의 기본 계획이 달리 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 설계조건의 설정, 구조형식 및 재료의 선택, 설계하중의 추정, 부재 배치 및 치수결정 등의 과정으로 나타나는 초대형 해상구조물의 구조설계 기법에 관하여 기술하고, 구체적인 적용례로서 부산 해상공항 및 컨테이너 물류기지 개발안에 대한 초기 구조설계 과정과 그 결과를 소개한다.

A Study on Hull Deflection and Shaft Alignment Interaction in VLCC

  • Modern ship hulls of large oil carriers and container carrers have become more flexible with scantling optimization and increase in ship length. On the other hand. as the demand for power has increased with the ship size. shaft diameters have become larger and stiffer. Consequently. the alignment of the propulsion system has become more sensitive to hull girder deflections. resulting in difficulties in analyzing the alignment and conducting the alignment procedure. Accordingly. the frequency of shaft alignment related bearing damages has increased significantly in recent years. The alignment related damages are mostly attributed to inadequate analyses. changes in the design of the vessel. shipyards' practices in conducting the alignment. and a lack of well defined analytical criteria. The hull deflections should be considered at the design stage to minimize the bearing damage caused by hull deflection. Hull deflections can be estimated by analytical approach and reverse calculation using the measured data. The hull girder deflection analysis using the reverse calculation will be introduced in this paper.

가시화 기법을 통한 선박 구조설계 지원 전문가시스템 개발 (Knowledge-based system for ship structural design based on visualization techniques)

  • 본 논문에서는 설계 경험이 적은 설계자가 효율적으로 선급규정을 이용하여 선체설계를 할 수 있도록, 범용 전문가시스템 쉘(Shell)인 NEXPERT를 이용하여, 선체 구조설계를 지원할 수 있는 전문가시스템을 개발하였다. 먼저, 선급규정집(LLoyd Rule)과 기존의 rule scantling프로그램으로부터 지식을 추출하고, 이를 바탕으로 객체지향개념에 의해 지식의 그룹핑과 계층화를 시도하였다. 또한, NEXPERT가 갖고 있는 외부 프로그램과의 접속기능 (Cellable Interface)을 이용하여 각종 설계에 필요한 프로그램과 실적선 데이타베이스를 접속하였다. 특히, Motif를 이용한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(Graphical User Interface:GUI)를 도입하였고, 설계자가 결과에 대해 검토를 할 수 있도록 Knowledge tracing기능을 부여함으로써, 사용자 지향의 구조부재 치수 결정 지원 전문가 시스템을 개발하였다. 이러한 연구를 통해 범용 전문가시스템이 선박설계에 이용될 수 있다는 가능성을 보였으며, 그 추구해야할 방향을 설정하였다. 특히, 어떤 설계결정에 이르는데 관여한 규칙들을 보여주며, 객체로 정의된 설계부재들의 값을 확인하게 함으로써 설계자가 효율적인 설계를 수행할 수 있게 되었다.

LNG 선박의 트렁크 갑판과 거주구 연결 부위의 설계해석 (Strength Analysis for Transition Structure Design in way of Trunk Deck and Deckhouse on LNGC)

  • Membrane type LNG Carriers are characterized by their special structures such as trunk deck above upper deck. It is necessary to introduce an appropriate structure arrangement taking into account transition of the trunk deck to the upper deck or deckhouse in fore and aft parts. The transition area at aft part -from trunk deck to the deckhouse - is to be specially considered because of high longitudinal stresses applied at the area. This study has been carried out to tackle the transitional structure problem in design stage This paper deals with not only mesh size of FE models for scantling evaluation and fatigue assessment but also technical issues regarding fatigue assessment.

VLCC의 최적 축계정렬해석 연구 (A Study on Optimum Shaft Alignment Analysis for VLCC)

  • Recently, in VLCC, shafting system is stiffer due to large engine power whereas hull structure is more flexible due to scantling optimization, which can be suffered from alignment damage by incompatibility between shafting and hull, In this study, shafting system without stern tube forward bush was adapted for less sensitive system against external factors. Also, shaft alignment analysis was considered with hull deflection at various ship loading conditions and stern tube after bush of long journal bearing was evaluated by static squeezing pressure and dynamic oil film pressure with sloping control. Whirling vibration was also reviewed to avoid resonance with propeller blade order. So, reliable shafting design for VLCC could be achieved through optimized alignment analysis for the system without stern tube forward bush.
