허밍을 통한 유사 검색 질의가 주어질 때 효과적으로 음악 데이터베이스를 검색하는 시스템에 대한 연구는 다양한 방향으로 진행되어 왔다. 최근에는 음악 데이터와 허밍 질의를 시계열 데이터로 보고 시계열 데이터 유사 검색과 관련하여 제안되어 왔던 여러 가지 거리 척도(distance measure)나 인덱싱 기법등을 적용하여 효과적으로 질의를 처리하려는 시도가 계속 되고 있다. 허밍 질의의 특성을 고려한 균일 스케일링(Uniform Scaling)을 사용하여 효과적인 유사 검색을 하는 방법은 가장 최근 제시된 방법 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 허밍을 통한 유사 검색 시스템인 Humming BIRD(Humming Based similaR miDi music retrieval system)를 제안하고 구현하였다. 슬라이딩 윈도우를 사용하여 음악의 임의의 부분에 대한 허밍 질의를 처리할 수 있도록 하였으며 효율적인 검색을 위해 중심을 일치시킨(center-aligned) 균일 스케일링을 제안하고 이 거리의 하한을 계산하는 하계 함수를 사용하여 탐색 공간(search space)을 효과적으로 줄여 더 빠르고 효과적인 유사 검색을 가능하도록 하였으며 실험을 통해 중심을 일치시킨된 균일 스케일링이 이전과 같은 검색 결과를 얻으면서도 효과적으로 검색함을 탐색 공간을 줄이는 가지치기 성능을 비교함으로써 보였다.

We have investigated the mixed-state Hall effect in HgBa$_2CaCu_2O_6$, HgBa$_2Ca_2Cu_3O_8$, and Tl$_2Ba_2Cau_2O_8$ thin films as functions of the magnetic field up to 18 T. At high fields and low temperatures, the scaling exponent in ${\rho}_{xy}$ = A${\rho}_{xx}\;^{\beta}$ shows a universal behavior, ${\beta}$ = 1 ${\pm}$ 0.1, regardless of the field, the number of CuO$_2$ layers, the types of defects, and even the types of compounds. At low fields and high temperatures, p = 1 ${\pm}$ 0.1 also appears as a universal number although the observed field range is rather limited. These observations show the universal scaling of Hall resistivity in the regions of the clean and the moderately clean limit, consistent with a theory based on the midgap states in the vortex core.

Database community focuses on the similar music retrieval systems for music database when a humming query is given. One of the approaches is converting the midi data to time series, building their indices and performing the similarity search on them. Queries based on humming can be transformed to time series by using the known pitch detection algorithms. The recently suggested algorithm, scaled and warped matching, is based on dynamic time warping and uniform scaling. This paper proposes Humming BIRD(Humming Based sImilaR mini music retrieval system) using sliding window and center-aligned scaled and warped matching. Center-aligned scaled and warped matching is a mixed distance measure of center-aligned uniform scaling and time warping. The newly proposed measure gives tighter lower bound than previous ones which results in reduced search space. The empirical results show the superiority of this algorithm comparing the pruning power while it returns the same results.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare in Korea has enforced the oral health promotion program for elderly in Korea. There are the denture delivery program and the fluoride application-scaling program for elderly. Donggu Public Health Center in Daejeon has delivered the fluoride application-scaling program for elderly since the demonstration project in 2009. The official dental hygienists had a prior consultation with Dong-gu branch of Korean Senior Citizens Association in Daejeon. We expanded the program through government office, welfare centers, and nursing homes. The participants were satisfied with the public relations (95.2%), scaling (99.7%), fluoride application (91.5%), toothbrushing education (98.6%), and denture cleaning education (96.6%). After a medial accident with persistent bleeding, the pre-inspection survey about systemic disease and medication was reinforced. The official dental hygienists have agonized over the low participation of the low-income group and the overlap benefit with health insurance benefit of scaling. We suggested it be needed the assessment of the public oral health program to overlap with health insurance benefit.

We observed and treated a 19 year-old female who had atopic dermatitis. Even though she had been treated with western medicine, she still complained of severe itching, erythema, lichenification, scaling, dryness, oozing and insomnia especially on her face and neck. We treated her with Sasang Constitutional Therapies(Kupoong-san, Teumchoui-tang, Kalkunsungki-tang), apcupuncture, herbal irrigation and moisture emulsion. Having been treated for 24 days in hospital admitted, her symptoms were reduced and changed from severe to mild grade in SCORAD(SCORing Atopic Dermatitis)

In this article, we evaluated the structural merits and the validity of a partially insulated MOSFET (PiFET) through the fabrication of prototype transistors and an 80 nm 512M DDR DRAM with partially-insulated cell array transistors (PiCATs). The PiFETs showed the outstanding short channel effect immunity and off-current characteristics over the conventional MOSFET, resulting from self-induced halo region, self-limiting SID shallow junction, and reduced junction area due to PiOX layer formation. The DRAM with PiCATs also showed excellent data retention time. Thus, the PiFET can be a promising alternative for ultimate scaling of planar MOSFET.

A $8{\times}8$ foveated (log-polar) retina chip for edge detection has been designed and fabricated using CMOS technology. Retina chip performs photo-input sensing, edge extraction and motion detection and we focused edge extraction. The pixel distribution follows the log-polar transform having more resolution in the center than in the periphery and can reduce image information selectively. This kind of structure has been already employed in simple image sensors for normal cameras, but never in edge detection retina chip. A scaling mechanism is needed due to the different pixel size from circumference to circumference. A mechanism for current scaling in this research is channel width scaling of MOS transistor. The designed chip has been fabricated using standard $1.5{\mu}m$ single-poly double-metal CMOS technology.

This thesis deals with a novel font-dependent Hangul recognition algorithm invariant to position translation, scaling, and rotation using circular pattern vectors. The proposed algorithm removes noise from input letters using binary morphology and generates the circular pattern vectors. The generated circular pattern vectors represent spatial distributions on several concentric circles from the center of gravity in a given letter. Then the algorithm selects the letter minimizing the distance between the reference vectors and the generated circular pattern vectors. In order to estimate performances of the proposed algorithm, the completed Batang Hangul 2,350 letters were used as test images with scaling and rotational transformations. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm are better than conventional algorithm using the ring projection in the recognition rates of Hangul letters with scaling and rotational transformation.

Recently the necessity of time history analyses is increasing for the seismic analyses of a structure, and the seismic design provisions of IBC2003, ASCE and KBC2005 require the use of a minimum of seven earthquake records for the time history analyses. Earthquake records for the time history analyses could be selected from the database of the field-measured earthquake records having similar site conditions with the designed site, or from simulated sites satisfying the design spectrum. However, in this study seven earthquake records were generated using 50 earthquake records, classified as records measured at the rock, in the database of the Pacific Earthquake Research Center (PEER). Seven earthquake records were first selected by the least squares fitting method comparing the scaling factored response spectra with the specified design spectrum, and a family of seven artificial time history earthquake records was ultimately generated by multiplying scaling factors, which were calculated by the least squares fitting method and the SRSS averaging method, to the corresponding selected earthquake records.
