Factors Influencing the Career Preparation Behavior of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 진로준비행동에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of nursing professionalism, satisfaction with major, and self-leadership on nursing student career preparation behavior. Methods: Data were collected from August 1 to August 31, 2014. Participants were 400 students who completed self-report questionnaires covering career preparation behavior, nursing professionalism, satisfaction with major and self-leadership. The SPSS/WIN/PC 21.0 program was used for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlational coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The average scores for career preparation behavior, nursing professionalism, satisfaction with major, and self-leadership were 2.51, 3.80, 3,89, and 3.51 respectively. There were positive correlations among career preparation behavior, nursing professionalism, satisfaction with major, and self-leadership. Age, academic year, nursing professionalism, self-leadership, general satisfaction in satisfaction with major were significant predictors of career preparation behavior. Conclusion: It is necessary to provide career educational programs considering according to the academic year of nursing students and to develop educational programs to improve the nursing professionalism of nursing students.

Job Satisfaction Influenced Personal Traits among Officers and Noncommissioned Officers Working in Army Hospital (군병원 간부들의 개인적 성향에 따른 직무 만족도)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the satisfaction degree related to job by general characteristics, satisfaction factors. This survey was based on the questionnaire method. The sample consisted of 51 noncommissioned officers, 72 administrative officers and 160 nurse officers from army hospitals. The data were collected from March 14 to April 18, 1994 and statistically analysed by percentage, mean and $x^2$ test. Factors of job satisfaction consist of 6 categories; job pristige, interaction, autonomy, task requirements, pay, and organizational requirements. The overall job satisfaction degree was $62.8\%$ in NCOs, $54.2\%$ in administrative officers and $33.3\%$ in nurse officers. The job satisfaction of NCCs increased in factors of job prestige (p<0.01), autonomy (p<0.05), task requirement (p<0.05), and was higher as age. There were statistically significant in the factors of pay in school background, Job prestige in rank (p<0.05). 'I'm OK and You're OK' type was $76.5\%$ which was the highest rate and A major personal traits also showed the highest job satisfaction $(63.7\%)$. There were significant difference between major personal traits and interaction (p<0.01), autonomy (p<0.05), organizational requirement (p<0.01), pay (p<0.05) and task requirement. The job satisfaction of administrative Officers was represented significant differences in factors of pay (p<0.05), task requirements (p<0.05) by school background. Long term Workers showed the highest job satisfaction and significant difference in factors of job prestige and organizational requirement (p<0.01). Job satisfaction in 'I'm OK but you're not OK' type was slightly high, and CP major personal traits also showed the highest job satisfaction. The job satisfaction of nurse officers was represented significant difference in factors of autonomy (p<0.01), job prestige (p<0.05), organizational requirement (p<0.05), and pay by age. In CP major personal traits. job satisfaction showed the highest rate (75.0)

A Study on the Satisfaction, Evaluation and Awareness of Internship Programs among Major and Non-major Students in Food and Nutrition (식품영양학 전공과 타 전공 학생들의 전공 관련 현장 실습 만족도, 수행 평가도 및 인식도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the levels of satisfaction, and awareness, as well as evaluations of internship programs between major and non-major students in food and nutrition. The survey was conducted via questionnaire to 80 major and 113 non-major students in food and nutrition who had finished an internship. For the primary internship facilities, the proportions were 51.3% in foodservice for the major group and 57.4% in business & industry for the non-major group. For the internship period, the proportions were 71.2% for under 2 weeks in the major group, and 42.9% for $2{\sim}4$ weeks in the non-major group(p<0.001). The proportions of students who were provided orientation from a professor(p<0.001), and visiting guidance by a professor(p<0.001), were 40.5% and 35.4%, respectively, in the major group and 73.4% and 82.1 %, respectively, in the non-major group. The proportions answering that the internship was a necessity were 95.0% in the major group and 75.2% in the non-major group(p<0.001). The major group had significantly higher satisfaction scores for location of the internship facility, internship period, and connection between education and practice as compared to the non-major group. However, the satisfaction score for professor's guidance during the internship was significantly lower in the major group than the other group. The evaluation score for 'I did my best when doing my work' was significantly higher in the major group than the non-major group. The major group had significantly higher awareness scores for the internship's degree of assistance in improving skills, making use of knowledge, and adapting to the field, as compared to non-major group. In conclusion, students majoring in food and nutrition faithfully participated in their internship programs, with higher degrees of satisfaction and awareness, and higher evaluations. However, more effective internship program with intensified and developed guidance by professor are needed.

A study on the relationship between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, college adjustment, major satisfaction, and academic motivation in college students (대학생의 ADHD성향과 대학적응, 전공만족 및 학습동기의 관련성 연구)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to understand the level and patterns of college adjustment, major satisfaction, academic engagement, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This study examined the factors influencing adaptation to college life. Methods: This study was approved by the institutional review board of 00 university. We analyzed 166 survey data responses collected by distributing questionnaires from June 1 to July 2, 2020. Statistical product and service solutions version 23.0 was used for statistical analyses. The data were presented as frequencies and percentages or means and standard deviations, and pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: There was a significant difference in the average score of major satisfaction according to the type of college (university) and grades. For college adjustment, there was a significant difference in the average score according to major grades. Academic engagement showed a significant difference in the average score according to the college type and grade. Major satisfaction, college adjustment, and academic motivation showed significant positive correlations among the variables, whereas ADHD, major satisfaction, and college adjustment showed a significant negative correlation. Multiple regression analysis revealed that major satisfaction (p<0.001) and academic motivation (p<0.001) were factors affecting college adjustment (p<0.05). Conclusions: It is necessary to develop and apply specific and systematic adaptation programs to improve the understanding, control, and guidance methods for college students and to promote human relations, such as school life and social life.

  • In this study, we tried to investigate the relationship between the cosmetology major student's major satisfaction and the professionals by analyzing the effect of the cosmetology major student's major satisfaction on the beauty professional hall. Research Results It was found that there is a correlation (p <0.001) between the degree of satisfaction of college students in the hair beauty department and the beauty professionals (p <0.001), and the satisfaction of the department is "specialty" t = 4.625 (p =). .000),'Occupational recognition' t = 3.152 (p = .002), major value is'specialty' t = 2.330 (p = .021),'professional activity' t = 2.438 (p = .015), 'Occupation recognition' t = 4.843 (p = .000), university student activity adaptation is a subordinate factor of the cosmetology profession, "professional activity" t = 2.746 (p = .006), "occupation recognition" t = 4.303 ( Appearing as p = .000), it was found that the degree of satisfaction of college students in the hair beauty department has a significant effect on beauty professionals. For cosmetology college students, major satisfaction not only leads to satisfaction with the university and department, but also to self-satisfaction and cosmetology job confidence, allowing them to adapt to social life with a positive impact, and cosmetologists are hair With the values and attitude toward the beauty profession, you will be able to become a professional officer when you are a university student majoring in cosmetology. Through the research results, the formation of a positive professional hall for college students majoring in hair beauty and the satisfaction of the major will be enhanced, and the self-development of students, as well as professors and educational relations, will be established so that beauty professionals can be established through correct theory and practical education. Education and continued guidance on the professional ethics and values of the person is considered necessary.

Affecting Factors of Nursing Professionalism Perceived by Senior Nursing Students (졸업학년 간호학생이 지각하는 간호전문직관 영향 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive study was to investigate the level of nursing professionalism and influencing factors of professionalism in nursing students. Method: A convenience sample of 207 subjects were recruited from two universities in I city and one university in S city. The subject for this survey were senior students who finished all clinical practicum to be done before graduation. Results: The mean scores of the nursing professionalism and the satisfaction with clinical practice were 3.43 and 3.28 individually. The mean of self-efficacy and image of nurses were 3.60 and 3.71 individually. Mean of major satisfaction score was 3.88. There were significant correlations among nursing professionalism, satisfaction with clinical practice, self-efficacy, image of nurses and major satisfaction. The most strong factor affecting nursing professionalism was the image of nurses and accounted 52.0 percentage of the variance. Sixty point one percentage of the variance was explained by image of nurses, major satisfaction, religion and satisfaction with clinical practice. Conclusion: To make students have more positive nursing professionalism, strategies enhancing the positive nurse image, clinical satisfaction, and major satisfaction need to be developed during school years.

Factors Affecting on Major Satisfaction of the Male Students in Department of Dental Hygiene (치위생(학)과 남학생 전공만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study aimed to identify the relationship between department adaptation, career satisfaction and major satisfaction of the male students in department of dental hygiene and to provide basic data to improve their major satisfaction. The subjects were 102 male students attended dental hygiene departments at four universities in Seoul, Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do. The survey was completed a self administered questionnaire survey available on a website from September to October 2019. The collected data were analyzed frequency, mean and standard deviation, correlation and logistic regression using the SPSS 22.0 program. The questionnaire consisted of a total of 36 questions, with each item scored on a 5-point Likert scale. The mean score of male students of dental hygiene department major satisfaction was 3.32, department adaptation was 3.48 and career satisfaction was 3.08. The results of the correlation analysis shows that major satisfaction has a statistically significant positive correlation between career satisfaction and departmental adaptation(p<0.01), career satisfaction was a statistically significant positive correlation to the departmental adaptation(p<0.01). As a result of regression analysis with Independent variables such as departmental adaptation(β=0.410) and career satisfaction(β=0.457) were analyzed to have a significant positive effect on the major satisfaction(p<0.001). Accordingly, the department adaptation and job career satisfaction are critical factors for major satisfaction.

  • This study aims to identify the relationship among self-esteem, major satisfaction, appearance satisfaction, and employment stress of college students and to suggest suggestions for this. The subjects of this study were students in B metropolitan city, and data analysis was conducted using SPSS WIN/22.0 program. The result of the study showed that the difference in employment stress according to general characteristics was significant in grade (f=4.25, P=0.01), religion (t=0.70), department and department (F=7.50, P=.0001), personality (F=6.406, P=0.001), university life satisfaction (f=8.09, P=0.001), and average score (f=5.37, P=0.005). The employment stress of the subjects was negatively correlated with self-esteem(r=-.439, p<.001), major satisfaction(r=-.377, p<.001), and appearance satisfaction(r=-.273, p<.001).Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to develop an integrated program to improve self-esteem, major satisfaction, and appearance satisfaction in order to reduce the employment stress of college students, and repetitive studies are required to explore various factors.

Exploration of Factors on Pre-service Science Teachers' Major Satisfaction and Academic Satisfaction Using Machine Learning and Explainable AI SHAP (머신러닝과 설명가능한 인공지능 SHAP을 활용한 사범대 과학교육 전공생의 전공만족도 및 학업만족도 영향요인 탐색)

  • This study explored the factors influencing major satisfaction and academic satisfaction of science education major students at the College of Education using machine learning models, random forest, gradient boosting model, and SHAP. Analysis results showed that the performance of the gradient boosting model was better than that of the random forest, but the difference was not large. Factors influencing major satisfaction include 'satisfaction with science teachers in high school corresponding to the subject of one's major', 'motivation for teaching job', and 'age'. Through the SHAP value, the influence of variables was identified, and the results were derived for the group as a whole and for individual analysis. The comprehensive and individual results could be complementary with each other. Based on the research results, implications for ways to support pre-service science teachers' major and academic satisfaction were proposed.

  • In this study, the effect of the anatomical practice extracurricular program on the major efficacy and satisfaction of medical health students was investigated. The research tool used a major efficacy survey, a program satisfaction survey, the major efficacy survey compared and analyzed the improvement before and after participation in anatomy practice and the satisfaction survey between anatomy pictures after completion of the extracurricular program. As a result of comparative analysis between the two groups, the effect on major efficacy was significant after the program progression, and in the case of satisfaction, the satisfaction of the anatomical practice group was higher than that of the anatomical picture group. Through these research results, when operating an anatomical practice extracurricular program, it is thought that operating an anatomical practice program rather than creating an anatomical picture improves the major efficacy and satisfaction score.
