1. Background and purpose: The purpose of this study is to find the characteristic of "Donguisasangshinpyun" through comparison and analysis of "Donguisusebowon" and "Donguisasangshinpyun". 2. Methods: First we compare the composition of Sasang prescription with the same name in "Sinchukbon" and "Gabobon" to the composition of Sasang prescription in "Donguisasangshinpyun" "Donguisasangshinpyunchebang"(東醫四象新編劑方). And we compare the difference of "Donguisusebowon" and "Donguisasangshinpyunchebang" about symptom of Sasang prescription. The third is to find the utilization of Sasang prescription in "Donguisasangshinpyun" "Donguisasangyongyakhuebun"(東醫四象用藥彙分). 3. Results and Conclusions: 1) There are some Sasang prescriptions with the same name in "Donguisasangshinpyunchebang", "Sinchukbon" and "Gabobon". The composition of Sasang prescription in "Donguisasangshinpyun" is based on "Sinchukbon" better than "Gabobon". 2) The symptom of Sasang prescription in "Donguisasangshinpyunchebang" are more various than the symptoms in "Donguisusebowon". We find new symptom of Sasang prescription in "Donguisasangshinpyun" that does not exist in "Donguisusebowon". 3) The Sasang prescription of "Sinchukbon" is utilized much more than the Sasang prescription of "Gabobon" in "Donguisasangyongyakhuebun".

Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate current status of Sasang constitutional medicine researches and to provide source in setting a development strategy and making a policy on the Sasang constitutional medicine. Method : This study analyzed trends in research as represented in the 142 articles of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine in the field of Sasang constitution medicine from 2007 to 2010. Result : The main themes of studies were Sasang constitution clinical study (68, 47%) and developing instruments for measuring diagnosis (48, 33%), especially pulse diagnosis (25, 17%). Genetic researches and trends studies on Sasang constitutional medicine were respectively 17 (12%) and 8 (5%). As a result, Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine established Sasang clinical information bank, and discovered clinical character of Sasang constitution to develope various diagnosis tools include constitution survey form and pulse diagnosis instrument. Genetic researches also discover constitution related genes such as FTO and MC4R, and explore association between heredity and Sasang constitution. Conclusion : The above mentioned achievements of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine were limited to diagnosis process, unquestionably studies for reproducibility and authenticity of constitution diagnosis were important mission of Sasang constitutional medicine. However, to develop the advance of Sasang constitutional medicine, not only constitution diagnosis but also constitutional treatment studies should be conducted.

1. Objectives: We study on indications and directions of Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang in Sasang Constitutional Medicine by applications of Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang. 2. Methods: We analyzed indications and directions by bibliographical applications of Radix Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang in Traditional Oriental Medicine and Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 3. Results and Conclusions: 1) Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang is used for various indications which are congested fluids, accumulation, edema, and etc in Traditional Oriental Medicine and Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2) In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang is taken by powder in a single-medicine prescriptions and taken with calomelas by powder and tablet in prescriptions, and we have need of clinical study of Radix Euphorbiae Kansui in the future.

The Sasang Constitutional Examination, which is a medical treatment for Korean medicine, is a insurance non-coverage item. It is necessary to diagnose the constitution for medical treatment and to know the health regimen according to the constitution. We plan this project in order to expand the insurance guarantee reinforcement for Sasang Constitutional Examination and Counselling. This study was to investigate the status of insurance coverage and non-coverage items and to investigate objectivity and standardization of Sasang Constitutional Examination and Counselling. In addition, according to medical field, the items of Sasang Constitutional Examination and Counselling were divided. We reviewed the status of constitutional health care services and applied it to the financial budget for the medical care costs. Finally we propose Sasang Constitutional Examination and Counseling of Korean Medicine Act Classification (plan) and propose Insurance Coverage of Sasang Constitutional Examination and Counselling (plan).

Background and Objective : The status of development of instruments to assess the 'health status' reflecting the concept of Sasang Constitutional Medicine is still far from satisfaction, despite their importance in building basic data for health promotion, evaluation of effectiveness of treatment, health policy and so on. for these reasons the health scale of Sasang Constitutional Medicine shod be developed. Therefore as from of preliminary research, this study is to review the concept of health and symptoms in health status in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Methods : It was researched as bibliologically with Dong-mu's chief medical writings such as ${\ulcorner}Dongyi$ Soose $Bowon{\lrcorner}$(東醫壽世保元)${\ulcorner}Dongyi$ Soose Bowon Sasang Chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)${\lrcorner}$ - Results and conclusion : 1. In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, it is suggested that Inherent vitality(命脈實數) has relations to health and Knowledge-Acting(知行) is a primary factor which affects health. And it is thought that Healthy condition(完實無病) is that human being has enough Healthy energy(保命之主) of Small viscera. 2. In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, it is thought that stool, urine, sweating and digestion become important indexes to measure the physical health state. 3. In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, it is thought that the mental health is in control of inclination of mind by golden mean(中庸) and in tranquillity of constant mind according to constitution. 4. In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, it is thought that the social health is state thar can do social acting harmoniously by keeping away from alcohol, sexual appetite, property and power.

Diabetic nephropathy is defined that renal glomeruluses are damaged by diabetes melitus and proteins that are not excreted to urine normally are exhausted, or do not excrete waste matter to urine, so-called chronic renal failure state. Clinical stage is explained divided 5. If reached 4 or 5 stage, overt proteinuria is occurred to clinical nephropathy, and hypoalbuminemia, azotemia, hypertension, and edema become serious. Concept about edema is differing comprehension about mechanism of a disease, and treatment methodaccording to Sasang Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. I treated edemtous Soyangin(少陽人) patient with Dojeokgangkitang(導赤降氣湯) who diagnosed as diabetic nephropathy and wrongly treated in Soeumin. I have got good results, so I do case study.

1. Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between adiponectin and metabolic syndrome according to Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods: Six hundred sixty six participants were included in this cohort study. Sex, age, BMI(Body Mass Index), smoking, drinking, adiponectin level and Metabolic syndrome components were considerd. Sasang constitutional diagnosis was carried out by a sasang constitutional specialist using photos, questionnaires and PSSC(Phonetic System for Sasang Classification). 3. Results: In binary logistic analysis after adjustment of age, sex, BMI, smoking, drinking, adiponectin level and sasang constitution were related with Metabolic syndrome. 4. Conclusions: We suggest that adiponectin and sasang constitution are the important biomarker in Metabolic syndorme.

1. Introduction This study aims to survey knowledge and attitude of Sasang constitution investigators on the Sasang constitution clinical study. 2. Methods We have made up list of 24 Sasang constitution investigators who have conducted Sasang constitution clinical study before. The study has been surveyed for 20 investigators who has been experiencing clinical study bye-mail or interview. 3. Results 1) The recognition degree on clinical study for sasang constitutional investigators was relatively lower than that for non-oriental investigators. 2) Most investigators have difficulty in designing a Protocol and they thought Protocol is most important in clinical study. 3) The investigators has stressed the need of diagnosis guideline on Sasang Constitution in performing clinical study. 4. Conclusions Special course of clinical study for sasang constitutional investigators should be prepared to activate Sasang constitution clinical study. This course may set up the guideline of sasang constitution clinical study and designing protocol. Also it is urgent to develop constitution diagnosis guideline for clinical study.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference of cold-heat pattern according to sasang constitution. Methods 3891 subjects were joined in this study. The sasang cinstitution diagnosis were proceeded by sasang constitution experts. The questionnaires and anthropometric measurements of the subjects were collected. Results The effect of gender and body mass index on the cold-heat pattern according to sasang constitution were significant. The effect of age on the cold-heat pattern according to sasang constitution were not significant. The distribution of short form-12 and blood test on the cold-heat pattern according to sasang constitution were significant. Conclusions There were significant different distribution of cold-heat pattern asscording to sasang constitution by gender, body mass index, short form-12, blood test.

1. Objectives The purpose of this case is to report a Taeumin, who was examined as Hwa-Byeong, received a medical treatment with Cheongsimyeonja-tang and consult of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2. Methods We examined this patient as Hwa-Byeong by using Hwa-Byeong Diagnostic Interview Schedule(HBDIS) and we also diagnosed a patient's mental state by using MMPI to understand a human instinct of the patient. Additionally, we used QSCC II and PSCC to distinguish a patient's Sasang Constitution. 3. Results We received a positive result by using prescription as Cheongsimyeonja-tang and consult according to a patient's Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 4. Conclusions We suggested that the patient would receive steady treatments as consult of Sasang Constitutional Medicine and medicinal therapy afterwards.
