A Clinical study on Cooperative Treatment of Western Medicine and Sasnag Constitutional Medicine in Treating Chronic Pyelonephritis (만성신우신염(慢性腎盂腎炎) 소음인(少陰人) 환자(患者)의 양한방협진(洋韓方協診) 1례(例)에 대한 증례보고(症例報告))

  • 1. Objectives Chronic pyelonephritis is one of the obstinate disease in current medicine. chronic pyelonephritis can be healed through cooperative treatment of western medicine and Sasang constitutional medicine. 2. Methods This patient who was not treated by western medicine alone was healed when Sasang constitutional medicine was prescripted with modern western medicine 3. Results We can get significal changes in lab results when western medicine and clinical Sasang constitutional medicine was practiced together. 4. Conclusions We suggest that cooperation with western and Sasang constitutional medicine is much effective in treating chronic pyelonephritis and other obstinate diseases.

3 Case Reports of Tension-type Headache Taeeumin patients using Melonis Pedicus (과체를 이용한 태음인 긴장성 두통 치험례 3례)

  • Objectives The aim of this study was to report a improvement of tension type headache severity after using the Melonis Pedicus. Methods 3 Taeeumin patients, suffering from headache, treated with Melonis Pedicus, herb medicine, and acupuncture. After the treatment, Severity of headache was evaluated by Numerical Rating Scale(NRS). Also we checked the reponse of the Melonis Pedicus, and vital sign. Results & Conclusions After using the Melonis Pedicus, the severity of headache decreased from NRS 8 to NRS 1(case1), from NRS 10 to NRS 7(case 2), and from NRS 8 to NRS 6(case 3). And there was not any adverse effect. In conclusion, this study shows that using Meloni Pedicus can be effective treatment for Taeeumin tension type headache patient.

  • 1. Objectives The purpose of these 2 case studies is to evaluate the effects of Gihwangbeakho-tang which is based on the Sasang Constitutional Medicine for the Herpes zoster. 2. Methods We used Visual analogue sign(VAS) and pictures of the affected part for the assessment. 3. Results After two patients were treated with Gihwangbeakho-tang, the vesicles were cleared and the pain was decreased. 4. Conclusions These 2 case studies show an efficient result of using Gihwangbeakho-tang in the treatment of Herpes zoster.

  • Objectives We report a series of 2 treatment cases with Melonis Pedicelus which is based on Sasang constitutional Medicine for Vertigo in Taeumin. Methods We prescribed Melonis Pedicelus for their physical symptoms. The improvement of their Vertigo was evaluated. Results After the Melonis Pedicelus was given, the patient's Vertigo and physical symptoms were improved. Conclusions These case-studies showed an efficient result of using Melonis Pedicelus in the Vertigo of Taeumin.

  • Objectives We report a series of 2 treatment cases with Hyeongbangdojok-san which is based on Sasang Constitutional Medicine for peripheral facial palsy in Soyangin. Methods We diagnosed these two cases as a Soyangsangpung. And we prescribed Hyeongbangdojok-san for their physical symptoms. The improvement of their peripheral facial palsy were evaluated. Results After the Hyeongbangdojok-san was given, the patient's peripheral facial paralysis and physical symptoms were improved. Conclusions These case-studies showed an efficient result of using Hyeongbangdojok-san in the peripheral facial paralysis of Soyangin.

Methods We prescribed Hyeongbangdojeok-san for their physical symptoms. The improvement of their Climacteric Syndrome was evaluated Results After the administration of Hyeongbangdojeok-san was given, the patient's Climacteric Syndrome and physical symptoms are improved. Conclusions These case-studies show an efficient result of using Hyeongbangdojeok-san in the Climacteric Syndrome of Soyangin.

  • 1. Objectives: The purpose of this case is to report the effects of Onbaek-won which is based on Sasang Constitutional Medicine for constipation in Soeumin. 2. Methods: We treated two Soeumin patients with Constipation. We prescribed Onbaek-won for their physical symptoms. The improvement of their diseases were checked from their stool and other physical symptoms. 3. Results: After the Sasang constitutional medication of Onbaek-won were given, constipation and their physical symptoms were improved. 4. Conclusions: This case study show an efficient result of using Onbaek-won in constipation of Soeumin. Onbaek-won was used instead of Semen Tiglii(巴豆).

Objects of Research This research is purposed to find role and treatment mind of Sasang constitutional medicine in human genome age, through summarizing recognition of human and etiology. treatment on diseases proposed in Sasang constitutional medicine 2. Methods of Research It was researched as bibliologically with Dong-mu's chief medical writings such as ${\ulcorner}Dongyi$ Soose Bowon(東醫壽世保元)${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon Sasang Chongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷${\lrcorner}$. 3. Results and Conclusions 1. The outlook on human of Sasang Constitutional Medicine was completed in the base on Confusianism and it recognized that human is consisted with congenital element based on 'Human nature-shape' and acquired element based on Knowledge-Acting. Dong-mu emphasised acquired element than inborn element. 2. Sasang Constitutional Medicine is thought that we ran overcome inborn limitation of each constitution through moral culture of aposteriori Knowledge-Acting. and that self-correction is methods which is applied to treatment of disease recovering Essential Qi of each constitution with moral culture of personality 3. Sasang Constitutional Medicine is recognizing Essential Qi by main standard that foretell prognosis of disease and emphasize recovery of Essential Qi through self-correction than way of 'Assisting-Good Qi' and 'Removig-Bad Qi' in treatment of disease. 4. Self-correction can be divided into non-herbal self-correction and herbal self-correction. Non-herbal self-correction is to control greed by aposteriori Knowledge-Acting and herbal self-correction is to recover Essential Qi by herb. 5. It is thought that the present constitutional disease is consisted by accumulating life habit nature of a disease of ordinary times, and Sasang Constitutional Medicine that present constitutional disease is treated through administration of life habit nature of a disease of ordinary times in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 6. Treatment mind to correct oneself into Golden Mean through controlling Knowledge-Acting in Sasang Constitutional Medicine may get into important treatment guide of gene medicine age.

  • 1. Objectives This study evaluates the effect of oriental medical treatment on a chronic sinusitis patient. 2. Methods The patient was teated with acupuncture, nasal cavity irrigation, and Yangdokbackho-tang(陽毒白虎湯). Previous western medical methods were excluded in order to provide therapeutic methods different from pre-existing ones because we needed different, long-term treatment plan from previous treatment. We applied acupuncture 15 times during treatment period and instructed the patient to carry out nasal cavity irrigation at home. 3. Results & Conclusions Combined application of oriental treatment including administration of Yangdokbackho-tang and nasal irrigation showed remarkable clinical effects on symptom, physical examination and radiological finding.
